ANAMBRA PROGRESSIVES HANDS OVER ULTRAMODERN MEDICAL AND ISOLATION CENTRE TO NNAMDI AZIKIWE UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITAL (NAUTH)

The efforts of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) Nnewi in fighting the novel COVID-19 and other deadly infectious diseases received a major boost on Saturday as Anambra Progressives, a group of passionate and committed prominent citizens convened by the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah handed over a new ultramodern medical and isolation centre to the institution.

Speaking at the colourful event, the group convener, Senator Ubah thanked its members for their uncommon philanthropic gesture and cooperation exhibited by the team which ensured that the project was completed in due time and successfully delivered. Senator Ubah emphasized that the centre is one of the three health projects championed by the group. He stated that two other ultramodern medical and isolation centres were located in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and Nwafor Orizu College Education Nsugbe. Senator Ubah stated that the one domiciled at the Awka campus is nearing completion and will be commissioned in few weeks to come.

In his reaction, the Chairman of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Board of Management, Chief Ezekiel Afukonyo commended the group for playing a very important role in promoting good health in the society. The Board Chairman further expressed joy on the mutual cooperation exhibited by the Progressives and urged them to keep on keeping on.

Also speaking the Chief Medical Director of NAUTH, Prof. Igwegbe stated that the health services of the institution will be greatly improved by the availability of the ultramodern medical and isolation centre. He stated that the facility put in place will be judiciously utilized for the purpose for which it was set up. Prof. Igwegbe said that the cardinal role of UNIZIK as an institution is teaching, research and community service, the scholar eulogized the team of Anambra progressives for their thoughtful move in ensuring that facilities that will boost the health sector of the state is made available to its citizenry.

Chelsea Football Club has completed the signing of one of the big names in world football with Thiago Silva joining on a one-year contract, with the club having the option of a further 12 months.




That the Brazilian central defender’s time as a Paris Saint-German player was coming to an end was one of the sub-plots on the big stage of the Champions League final at the weekend and he has opted to cross the English Channel to continue his long and distinguished career.

His signing follows the addition on Wednesday of Ben Chilwell to the squad and continues the long tradition of top Brazilian players gracing the pitch for Chelsea. Malang Sarr also joined this week and will be on loan in 2020/21.

How old is Thiago Silva and what is his style of play?
Thiago Silva has been acknowledged as one of the world’s most accomplished and successful defenders over the past decade, winning silverware in Brazil, Italy, France and at international level, in addition to a long list of individual honours.

As well as being blessed with pace and strength that make him a formidable opponent on the ground and in the air, being affectionately nicknamed ‘The Monster’ by the Brazilian and French press, the 35-year-old has the composure and technical ability to play the ball out from centre-back and a wealth of experience at the highest level of football. He has captained Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and the Brazilian national team.

All those qualities were on display when he helped the French side reach the Champions League final for the first time last season. He earned further praise for leading a valiant defensive effort against Bayern Munich in his last match for PSG and became the first Brazilian to captain a team in a Champions League final.



Chelsea fans will be familiar with Thiago Silva’s talents from our frequent Champions League meetings with the Parisians in recent years, particularly in our Last-16 tie in 2015 when he marked Diego Costa tightly in the first leg in France and then headed in the decisive goal in extra-time at Stamford Bridge.

That competition has often brought the best out of him. In addition to his impressive displays in last season’s run to the Champions League final, the Brazilian scored on his PSG debut in a 4-1 group-stage win over Dynamo Kiev and his performance against Barcelona in 2013 was so good it had his then-manager Carlo Ancelotti and Brazil legend Ronaldo calling for him to win the Ballon d’Or.



What has Thiago Silva won and which clubs has he played for?
Despite missing out on a Champions League winner’s medal in his last game, Thiago Silva leaves Paris Saint-Germain as a proven winner, having been a key member of the side that amassed an incredible 23 trophies during his eight years there. That includes last season’s clean sweep of domestic silverware and claiming the Ligue 1 title in all but one of his campaigns in the French capital.

No player has won Ligue 1 more times than Thiago Silva’s seven, with his triumph last season matching an individual record which has stood since the 1960s. He was also named in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year seven times and the UEFA Team of the Year twice while at the Parc des Princes.


However, despite all his recent success, he was something of a late comer to the highest level of the game. He started his career in the Brazilian amateur leagues before turning professional with regional third-division side RS Futebol as a teenager. His performances in midfield as they achieved promotion secured him a move to the top flight with Juventude aged 20, where his switch to centre-back resulted in him catching the eye with some impressive performances.

Europe soon came calling and he signed for Porto in 2004, but it turned out to be a false start. Following a year acclimatising to a new continent with the Portuguese side’s ‘B’ team, he went to Dinamo Moscow, but missed the entire season after being hospitalised with a life-threatening illness in Russia.

Despite fearing an early retirement, Thiago Silva was offered a return to Brazil with hometown side Fluminense, where he had spent time as a trialist as a youngster. There he fully recovered to repay their faith in him by helping them to win their first-ever Copa do Brasil. His performances over three years back in Rio de Janeiro helped him break into the national team squad and be voted by fans as the top division’s best player, before getting a second shot at European football in 2009.

This time there were no setbacks as he instantly became a key player in the AC Milan defence, with club legends Paolo Maldini and Franco Baresi naming him as their natural successor. He proved them correct by becoming the first foreigner to captain the club in 50 years and playing a starring role as they claimed the Serie A title in 2011.



What is Thiago Silva’s international record?
It was during his time in Milan that Thiago Silva became a regular starter for the Brazilian national team and was named captain of his country shortly after that Serie A triumph. That meant he was wearing the armband as Brazil won the 2013 Confederations Cup in impressive style.

He was captain again when they competed in the following year’s World Cup on home soil and scored in the quarter-final victory over Colombia, but was suspended when they were beaten in the semis by Germany, with many pointing to his absence as a key factor in that heavy defeat.


Although no longer captain, Thiago Silva was again an important player for Brazil as they lifted the Copa America at the Maracana last year and he has represented his country 89 times in total, scoring seven goals.

Whether you like it, loathe it, or are somewhere in the middle, the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system is here to stay.



The 2019/20 season was the first campaign where the technology was utilised in the Premier League, with varying degrees of success.

Earlier this month, shareholders at the Premier League’s Annual General Meeting agreed VAR would remain for the upcoming ’20/21 term, in line with FIFA protocol.

That means VAR’s implementation will be different in five key areas…


We all became very familiar with this sight last season.

PITCH-SIDE MONITORS

Next season, referees will be encouraged to use the VAR screens at the side of the pitch more regularly. Officially referred to as the Referee Review Area (RRA), the monitors will be employed for subjective decisions surrounding goals, red cards and penalties.

PENALTIES (GOALKEEPER ENCROACHMENT)

Officials will be stricter in how they approach penalties and if a spot-kick is missed when a goalkeeper’s foot is off the line, VAR will order the penalty to be retaken. However, if a goalkeeper is off his line and the penalty hits the post or misses the target, it will not be ordered to be retaken.

PENALTIES (PLAYER ENCROACHMENT)

A player can now only be deemed as encroaching from a spot-kick if they have a direct impact on the ball (i.e. they clear it or tap in a rebound). Encroachment is also only judged on a player’s foot and whether it’s in, or on, the penalty area or arc line at the edge of the box.

OFFSIDE

An official Premier League press released stated: 
“The [offside] protocol does not allow for tolerance levels.”
 That means there will be no real change to how offsides are judged and any ball-playing part of the body which is past the line of the last defender will be deemed offside, including a shoulder or a small portion of the foot.





FLAGGING FOR OFFSIDE

When an immediate goalscoring opportunity occurs, assistant referees will not raise their flag until the passage of play is over. When the attack has been completed, the official will then raise the flag if they deem the attacker to be offside. If a goal is scored, then that decision will be checked at VAR’s Stockley Park base.



ANYTHING ELSE?

The Premier League also confirmed earlier in August that the top flight will revert back to the use of a maximum of three substitutes per game, with a maximum of seven being named on the bench. Drinks breaks will also not be included next season, apart from in exceptionally warm weather.

The handball rule has also been altered for 2020/21 with the FA confirming that accidental handball by an attacking team will only result in a foul if it occurs immediately before a goal or clear goal-scoring chance.

The area of the arm considered to be penalised by the handball rule has been more clearly defined. The shoulder area is deemed not to be handball, but any part of the arm below the shoulder can result in a handball decision.

It was truly a "We Care" rub on the cheeks of the students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University on Monday as the Dr Chinedu Umeadi Foundation (DCUF) listened to the cries of the Student Union Government and came all out with mouth watering and wowing palliatives to cushion the harsh effect of the lockdown on students who were more or less trapped in school.


The lockdown which was caused by the ravaging pandemic kicked off over a month ago and has thrown the world into confusion of which Nigeria wasn't left out.


Many students were feeling abandoned as news of neighbouring towns and villages around the city of Awka receiving relief materials from the state government and well meaning individuals kept making the news headlines. This prompted the ever active Student Union Government led by H.E Comr. Samuel Jude Chimuanya to write to appeal to the DCUF who promptly responded and left many mouths oily and bellies heavy.



The Dr Chinedu Umeadi Foundation which has 4 main aims and objectives, one of which is to alleviate hunger and poverty lived true to what she stands for on Monday as Zikites were surprised with about 200 cartons of Indomie noodles, 400 tubers of yam, 400 sachets of industrial salt, 400 sachets of vegetable oil, hand sanitizers, amongst other palliatives that were brought to ease the effect of the hunger caused by the lockdown due to the pandemic.



The president of the Student Union Government, H.E Comr. Samuel Jude Chimuanya who was unavoidably absent but was ably represented by the Director of Entrepreneurship, Comr. Keonyegwachie Valentine Chika, in his statement during an interview session with us made it clear that this is just the beginning of the good things the present government has in mind for zikites as their interest is first on his list.

Speaking in an interview with Obidike Uche, a 100 level student of Agric Economics and Extension, he was full of appreciation to the Dr Chinedu Umeadi Foundation and the SUG for having the students in mind. In his words, "I feel happy and alright because I didn't expect this. I just saw the information and submitted my name and came here and they have blessed us with foodstuffs. I don't know how long the lockdown will last but this can sustain me for a while before I can go home again."


Other students were full of appreciation and full of joy even as they went home because they were sure of food for the next one week or more.

The entire students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka are grateful to the Dr Chinedu Umeadi Foundation for making them happy amidst the lockdown and the pandemic whilst pledging their undying support, love and allegiance to the SUG.

*THE DEATH OF A STUDENT, VICTOR 'OLUWA': UNVEILING THE FACTS AND CIRCUMSTANCES*.


1. It is with a sorrowful heart that I convey the death of one of our Unizik students, Victor Maduakor (Oluwa) a 400Level student of Faculty of Arts, who was shot at School gate on the 19th February 2020, after he tried to intervene in a dispute among keke men at the gate. It is bewildering that the assailants shot him in broad daylight. To this end, the SUG President reported this case to the Police DPO in charge of Zone B Division.

2. Once news of the shooting was received, The SUG President, Comr. Samuel Jude, immediately and personally, rushed him to Unizik Medical Centre, and thereafter, used the SUG Bus to rush him down to Nnewi Teaching Hospital, using his personal money, in excess of N50,000 to settle the hospital bill and treatment commenced on him.

3. Meanwhile, as these were going on, the SUG President had already made an application to the School authorities, for the provision of funds for the prompt treatment of the student, but nothing was provided by school at that juncture. It is astonishing to note, that the SUG President wanted the funds to be made from the Union's account, but the school administration refused blatantly.

4. And the sad thing was, the major impediment to the student's efficient treatment was funding, and at this time, ths Bus stand has already been taken from the students.

5. So, while the funds remained a problem, the SUG President kept on calling the Dean of Students Affairs and Vice Chancellor, but nothing was forthcoming.

6. Soon after, one of the doctors at NAUTH, Nnewi recommended that he should be moved to University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Enugu which the SUG President and SUG Team quickly carried out using the SUG Bus.

7. About fifteen students also were mobilized by the SUG to donate blood to the shot student, Victor Maduakor (Oluwa).

8. As money/funds were not forthcoming from school authorities, the SUG President continued to provide the funds for feeding and other expenses. It got to a point where the SUG even solicited for funds from students.

9. While Victor Maduakor (Oluwa) was operated on, after the SUG brokered a funding arrangement for his surgery, he had heart complications on the 4th of April, 2020 after the UNTH doctors removed his heart tube on the costly assumption that he was fine without it. But, at about 11 o'clock Pm, he started screaming for help and as they were no doctors on duty, he was reported dead at the early hours of this morning.

9. What baffles the SUG is the none response by the school administration, and the non-provision of funds by the school authorities, which if it has been provided, caused the student to be treated promptly. I will not mince words to say that if the school authorities had acted promptly to release the funds for his hospitals bills, this young student would have been treated early, and these complications that led to his death wouldn't have occurred. Infact, We failed this young man with dreams and aspirations.

10. The SUG President wishes to convey his deep sorrow on this awful happenings and commiserates with the family, friends and kin of our dear student, Victor Maduakor (Oluwa).

11. Most importantly, I wish to debunk the rumours going round that our dear student was a cultist. This is a lie and I condemn this rumour and the peddlers in entirety. Our dear Victor Oluwa was a law-abiding student of the highest order, whi because of his integrity got appointed as one of the Taskforce members. It is worthy of note that he was shot while trying to maintain peace and order along ifite road. He should be decorated as a hero he is.

I also wish to use this medium to promise our students, that effective measures would be put in place to ensure this acts don't happen again.

It feels like an eternity ago, but the world only became aware of the coronavirus in December.

Despite incredible efforts by scientists around the world, there is still much we do not understand, and we are all now part of a planet-wide experiment trying to find answers.

Here are some of the big outstanding questions.

1. How many people have been infected.
It is one of the most basic questions, but also one of the most crucial.

There have been hundreds of thousands of confirmed cases around the world, but this is only a fraction of the total number of infections. And the figures are further confused by an unknown number of asymptomatic cases - people who have the virus but don't feel ill.


Developing an antibody test will allow researchers to see whether anyone has had the virus. Only then will we understand how far or how easily the coronavirus is spreading.

2. How deadly it really is.
Until we know how many cases there have been, it is impossible to be certain of the death rate. At the moment the estimate is that around 1% of people infected with the virus die. But if there are large numbers of asymptomatic patients, the death rate could be lower.

3. The full range of symptoms.
The main symptoms of coronavirus are a fever and a dry cough - these are the ones you should be on the look out for.

A sore throat, headache and diarrhoea have also been reported in some cases and there is mounting speculation that a loss of sense of smell may affect some.

But the most important question is whether mild, cold-like symptoms, such as a runny nose or sneezing, are present in some patients.

Studies have suggested this is a possibility and that people could potentially be infectious without knowing they are carrying the virus.

4. The role children play in spreading it.
Children can definitely catch coronavirus. However, they mostly develop mild symptoms and there are relatively few deaths among children compared with other age groups.

Children are normally super-spreaders of disease, partly because they mix with lots of people (often in the playground), but with this virus, it is not clear to what extent they help spread it.

5. Where exactly it came from.
The virus emerged in Wuhan, China, at the end of 2019, where there was a cluster of cases at an animal market.

The coronavirus, officially called Sars-CoV-2, is closely related to viruses that infect bats, however it is thought the virus was passed from bats to a mystery animal species that then passed it on to people.

That "missing link" remains unknown, and could be a source of further infections.

6. Whether there will be fewer cases in summer.
Colds and flu are more common in the winter months than in the summer, but it is not yet known whether the warmer weather will alter the spread of the virus.

The UK government's scientific advisers have warned it is unclear whether there will be a seasonal effect. If there is one, they think it is likely to be smaller than that for colds and flu.

If there is a major dip in coronavirus over the summer, there is a danger that cases will spike in winter, when hospitals are also having to deal with an influx of patients with the usual winter bugs.

7. Why some people get much more severe symptoms.
Covid-19 is a mild infection for most. However around 20% go on to develop more severe disease, but why?

The state of a person's immune system seems to be part of the issue, and there may be some genetic factor too. Understanding this could lead to ways of preventing people from needing intensive care.

8. How long immunity lasts, and whether you can get it twice.
There has been much speculation but little evidence on how durable any immunity to the virus is.

Patients must have built up an immune response, if they successfully fight off the virus. But as the disease has been around for only a few months there is a lack of long-term data. Rumours of patients being infected twice may be down to tests incorrectly saying they were free of the virus.

The question of immunity is vital for understanding what will happen in the long term.

9. Whether the virus will mutate.
Viruses mutate all the time, but most alterations to their genetic code do not make a significant difference.

As a general rule, you expect viruses to evolve to be less deadly in the long run, but this is not guaranteed.

The concern is that if the virus mutates, then the immune system no longer recognises it and a specific vaccine no longer works (as happens with flu).

STUDENTS WINS CASH, LAPTOP, OTHERS AT ORATORY BATTLE




The Secretary General, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Faculty of Social Science Students Association, Miss. Angel Ekeh in collaboration with Comr. Stanley Chukwuma, Unizik Public Relations Officer, SUG recently organized an Oratory symposium for students.




The participants in the grand finale of the Oratory symposium went home smiling on Friday, as the winner, Miss. Obiyo Grateful was gifted a brand new laptop, followed by the first runner up, Miss. Onyekwena Divine who took home an Android phone and the second runner up, Master Wisdom Chibuike was awarded a scholarship worth N21,000.

The competition had a total of 36 contestants with 10 of them qualifying for the grand finale. Other participants at the oratory competition went home with consolation prizes.

The moment you start depending on individuals for inspirations and motivations, you start acting like an employee who acts on commands and orders.

Mind you, motivational speakers and mentors are wonderful people. But, they shouldn't be your driving force, rather your motivation should emanate from within.

Tell yourself how wonderful you are. Tell yourself how marvelous you are. Say "I can do it" like never before.

A just graduated student of  Chemical Engineering Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Anthony Obikwelu, has stunned the science world after he developed and manufactured a machine that can convert plastic and other waste materials into fuel.

Below is the detailed inscription on what the machine is all about. He writes,

This machine produces petroleum based fuel (closely diesel) from thermal pyrolysis of waste plastics.

Pyrolysis is the process of heating organic material at high temperatures in the absence of oxygen. Since no oxygen is present, the organic material does not combust. Instead, the chemical compounds that make up the material decompose into combustible gases and char. The produced gases is condensed to give a liquid fuel.

Pyrolysis presents an opportunity to manufacture low- carbon liquid fuels and decrease the emissions of the industry. These fuels are also compatible with our existing transportation infrastructure which eliminates the need to introduce costly new infrastructure. Complete pyrolysis of organic matter usually leaves a solid residue that consists mostly of elemental carbon; the process is then called carbonization.

As we all know, Plastic goods and packaging and the inevitable plastic waste resulting from them are found all over the world. Plastic is a relatively cheap, durable and versatile material. However, as waste it constitutes a sizeable percentage of the litter we see every day in public places. It is also non-biodegradable; presents risks to human health and the environment; and some types are difficult to re-use and/or recycle. Almost 100 million tons per annum are produced every day. So the process of pyrolysis of plastics is attempted to reduce the waste plastics and to find a source for alternative fuel.

This is really quite an invention as it solves the problem of cost of mining oil. It would help reduce the emiison of harmful waste matters into the air which affects our ozone layer. It will prevent issues of oil spilliage and ocean pollution. It'll also create direct and indirect employment as plastics and other waste materials would be sourced for, thereby creating an avenue through which people can earn a living.

Nigerians Now Enjoying 24-Hour Power Supply Under Buhari – Fashola

Minister of Power, Housing and Works, Babatunde Raji Fashola, has described the situation of power supply in the country as an improvement to what the present administration met on ground.
Fashola expressed this view while speaking on Sunrise Daily on Channels TV on Wednesday.

Fashola asserted that in some parts of the country like Kebbi and Yobe, the power supply is constant.
Fashola, however, revealed that the power distribution companies in those areas reported their consumers as saying that they do not need 24/7 power supply due to the high billing.


Fashola assured Nigerians that the current situation of power supply in the country would improve significantly before President Buhari leaves office in 2023. Although, he pointed out that Nigeria has a long way to go before it achieves a constant power supply.


Also, he revealed that the Federal Government is already issuing licenses to companies to produce, and supply meters to electricity consumers in the country.


Also speaking on the ongoing dispute between the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and Distribution Companies (DISCOS) on whose responsibility it is to provide meters, Fashola pointed out that the sparring bodies know what to do.

Pornhub’s “2018 year in review ”, released on Thursday, has once again showed that South Africans are the highest consumer of Online porn in Africa. In 2017 South Africa was also ranked the highest in Africa.




The country was ranked the twentieth largest consumer of Pornhub, after Russia, Argentina and Sweden.

Most Searched Terms
“Black South African” remained the top search term used by South Africans on Pornhub in 2018 – but “Afrikaans” moved up 65 places to be the eight most-searched term in the country.

The search term “Afrikaans” grew by a total of 1,391% since 2017 to reach that position.

Pornhub’s “2018 year in review ”, released on Thursday, also showed that South Africans are 112% more likely to view the “ebony” category – the second most searched term on Pornhub in South Africa – compared to the rest of the world.

“Black” was the third most searched term in the country, “cheerleader” fourth, and “South African” fifth.

Pornhub recorded a whopping 33.5 billion visits in 2018, an increase of 5 billion visits compared to 2017. Daily visits now exceed 100 million, the platform said.

2019 general election : authentic reasons Nigerians will vote for Atiku not Buhari – PDP




The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Wednesday said Nigerians are eager to elect its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, as next President of Nigeria.


PDP explained that Abubakar has “demonstrated that the essence of leadership lies in applying its powers and privileges for the good of others rather than
self.”

The party’s spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan said this while receiving leaders of a coalition of youth groups from Kano, Katsina and Kaduna states, who were at the PDP National Secretariat to register their defection from the All Progressives Congress, APC, and their support for Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2019 general elections.


In a statement issued after the meeting, Ologbondiyan said the Waziri of Adamawa unlike Buhari was generally accepted by Nigerians, hence he will become the next President of Nigeria.

The statement reads, “Unlike President Buhari, who has been rejected by Nigerians as a self-centered, uncaring, divisive and incompetent leader, whose administration relishes in inflicting pain, sorrow and hardship on others, Atiku Abubakar is generally accepted as a unifier, a broad-minded leader, who is committed to the welfare and uplifting of living standard of the citizens.”

Ologbondiyan said since the popular emergence of Atiku Abubakar as PDP Presidential candidate, the Buhari camp has continued to deplete in millions, adding that “very soon President Buhari will find himself a general without a troop, as Nigerians are no longer willing to blindly follow an incompetent leader, who thrives only on false promises, propaganda and procured endorsements.”


He said, “Nigerians have reached a consensus to rally with Atiku Abubakar, because unlike President Buhari, whose administration represents, hunger, starvation, violence, oppression and general national misfortune, Atiku Abubakar embodies a hope of national rebirth; it embodies democracy, unity and constitutional order; it embodies wealth creation, youth empowerment and that aspiration for a prosperous nation, where all are free.

The soldier reportedly used the knife to stab and kill one of the Boko Haram insurgents who unknowingly came close to where he hid before he collected his rifle and continued in the fierce shootout.

Gboy purportedly gunned down four of the remaining terrorists before fleeing to a far distance where he joined some of his colleagues who had already escaped.

Tekno may not sing again as he's suffering from serious ailment – Ubi Franklin

Triple MG boss, Ubi Franklin has called for prayers on behalf of Nigerian Singer, Tekno, who has been absent for months in the music industry.

In a statement released on his Instagram, Ubi said Tekno has been battling with an ailment.

Ubi disclosed that Tekno’s vocal box has been temporarily damaged and he may not be able to sing or perform for a period of time.


Ubi wrote that the singer will be off singing for a while according to doctors recommendation in order to recover.

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has claimed that a stage play artiste from Sudan, Jubril Aminu Al-Sudani, is still at the Aso Villa impersonating a ‘dead’ President Muhammadu Buhari because Nigerians have not staged mass protests to demand for proof of his true identity.


Kanu made the assertion during the weekend in a two-and-half-hour worldwide radio broadcast from Israel.

He said Nigeria would collapse under the weight of deception going on within the presidency if prompt action is not taken to inaugurate Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo as President and extradite Jubril Aminu to Sudan for what he described as international fraud.


His words: “Jubril is in Aso Rock. The reason he is still there is because we have not come for him. In any reasonable country around the world, the citizens should by now commence a worldwide protest to demand the identity of their president.

“Why is this Sudanese impostor in Aso Rock? Abba Kyari is nowhere to be found (for explanations). They said he went for medical treatment.

“Let’s ask Femi Adesina a simple question: ‘Presidency show us a video of Buhari in Paris.’ Perhaps, they may have a case (if he did) but there is none because Jubril wasn’t there. There was no Buhari in Paris.


“There was once a rumour that Obasanjo was dead but he came out and said ‘I dey kampe.’ Jubril can’t do that because he is not Buhari. Nigeria must fall. It is going to collapse under the weight of this fraud and deception of Jubril.

“I am not going to make trouble. I want them to return Jubril from whence he came. We can no longer be part of this fraud.”

Kanu, who accused the elite of hatching the idea of a Buhari double, said the plot was based on the desire of the North to hold onto power at all costs.

He continued: “This evil agenda of Jubril was premised on the desire of the Northern to hold onto power at all cost. They know it. Atiku knows it.

“For the records, ex-governor of Jigawa state, Sule Lamido, told his supporters openly at the PDP presidential primaries that he would defeat ‘Buhari’ because he cannot speak Fulfulde. Therefore, he is not and cannot be Buhari.”

The IPOB leader, who vowed to prove to Donald Trump that he never met with the real President Muhammadu Buhari, argued that there are two features within human anatomy that are unique to each individual and can never be cloned.

The first, he said, was the fingerprints while the next was the outer ears.

While Kanu did not speak on the president’s fingerprints, he explained that pre-2017 photographs of President Muhammadu Buhari’s left side outer ear had a deformed lobule and a straight antihelix, adding those unique features can no longer be found in the President’s recent photographs

A psychiatrist, Dr Maymunah Kadiri, on Saturday advised married women to have regular sex with their spouses in order to prevent depression and gain happiness.

Kadiri, the Medical Director of Pinnacle Medical Services gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

According to her, sex is not just to nourish a woman’s body, but it is also beneficial to her mental health.

“As women, there is need for us to make our spouses our best friends if we want to be mentally healthy.

“Studies have shown that women who have more active sex and in long term relationships were less likely to be depressed than women who went without sex.

“So, more sex is important and essential. It is a remedy to curing women from having persistent headache.

“Low sexual drive, which leads to depression, should be looked into. A woman can be depressed when that sexual drive that she used to have is no more there.

“Frequent active sex can play good roles toward women’s sense of well being and quality of life,’’ Kadiri said.

She explained that sex was not just for procreation and to have children, adding that it could create bonding, good companionship and sound sleep.

Kadiri, popularly called ‘celebrity shrink’, urged women dealing with depression to frequently indulge in sex, while boosting their self-esteem.

She also advised women who are over-weight to also involve in active sex, saying doing so will boost endorphins which are happy hormones.

“The happy hormones will make them lose some calories as well as sleep better.

”Orgasms trigger the release of endorphins which are happy hormones secreted by the brain that act as effective painkillers,’’ she said.

Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has asked Odion Ighalo to leave China.


Rohr will be delighted to see Ighalo play in a topflight football league division next season, after his Chinese Super League team, Changchun Yatai suffered relegation, at the end of the just concluded season.

The striker finished the Chinese Super League season on a high, scoring 21 goals in 28 games, but it was not enough to save Changchun Yatai from relegation.


Rohr, who was guest at a breakfast media parley with Nigerian sports editors on Friday in Lagos, noted that his top marksman will not be short of suitors when the January transfer window reopens.

“I called him (Ighalo) up at the World Cup after I read what was written about him in the social media. He came on at halftime against Argentina because Kelechi Iheanacho was not so good.

UEFA reportedly covered for Real Madrid defender, Sergio Ramos, after he failed a doping test following the club’s UEFA Champions League final win over Juventus in 2017.


According to Football Leaks, Ramos tested positive for Desametasone after the game, which Los Blancos won 4-1.

Desametasone is a substance that can be used as long as UEFA are notified in time.

The allegations come as part of the latest wave of Football Leaks reports.
