Flurluv: geologyok, i finished from geophysics myself. Your welcome aboard once again. Feel free to mingle and learn while also catching fun. |
Flurluv: ....im in part oneinteresting...... Jez focus on ur white house courses for now. It gets pretty tight from second year upwards but u can leverage up with your cgpa from 100 level. Choice is yours. Are u in geophysics or geology? |
Flurluv: good mrn great minds,my name is flourish a geology student in oau please i need a mentor in this field..........welcome aboard, wat part please? |

Beehandz: G'day all,http://dgbes.com/index.php/support.html |
chiefinalowo: Yes, it is in AutoCAD Map 3Dhmmh! ok |
Benedictus90: @I_am_strata. thanks a lot for your quick response.http://geophys.geol.msu.ru/ipi2win.htm |
i think its in my genes............ Can't help it (sobs) |

jazinogold: bros cant u interprete it manually using a theoritical graph...dats wat i used to interprete my VES data and modelling b4 i used the ip2win or ix1d software to just cross check n make it neat n presentable.when you said 'theoretical graph' do u mean partial curve matching? and if not, could you explain this 'new' method. |
Benedictus90: @I_am_strata. thanks a lot for your quick response.sorry boss, i was taught the old fashion way and it seems to work for me. Jez that i can't find companies in lagos where i could put it to use before nysc. As for the software ip2win, i do not v it anymore. I only got winglink (demo version) and res2mod by my loke (dont use any really) |
Benedictus90: please fellow geos, I need schlum software or ip2win software to analyse ves data for water prospecting. please help a fellow. thanks a lothave you done partial modelling (curve matching)? Then all u need is winresist software to invert the result and get ur geoelectric parameters. Or u could do forward modelling with ip2win software which can be downloaded on the internet for free. Contact me if u need more help |
schools v already voted, it'll be unwise for NEC to say otherwise |
obinoral: I-am-stratum how are you?i'm rockin brother, in the background, watching pros do their thing here. Y'know wat a mean? |
obinoral: bro i pray so. Thanks brour welcome bro, after their supposed meeting on friday. It will be over i believe |
it'll soon be over........ In other news so obi and funpeter are twins..... Nyways happy birthday to y'all in arears |
@op, you are as lost and dull as you write........ "if the blind lead the blind they'll both fall into a ditch'' |
PalmTree: Sorry boss, I'm not really an AutoCAD expert. I mostly use ArcGIS, ILWIS and Erdas Imagine.ok sir, i love what you are doing and i would like to talk with you one on one. I currently reside in lagos |
PalmTree: Yes, SRTM if properly analyzed can hold elevation data although ASTER is better. Mosaic is an analysis carried out to join 2 or more geographically referenced map layers. When maps are correctly geo-referenced, they can overlay and join with each other however when you try to zoom, it will affect other layers hence you need to mosaic so that they become one.is this the same thing as merging in autocad? |
PalmTree: Yes you can, ever heard of DTM or DEM? If you can get ASTER or SRTM data, you can do inverse extrusion. Then overlay it on the geological map of the area. Its kinda complex but when one faces the project, ideas will flow.is this srtm capable capable of holdin depth or elevation data? And can u explain 'mosaic' y it is done and expected result |
Dreament: na wao 4 u guy, all these flexing 4 only u. anyway carry on but if u fit share any of the babe with me no problem.the babes i neva see any groove. abi party venue don change? |
i can see the gate is wide open today.. See lights, drinks, beer and gals...... Make i go change where cso/celeb dey? #partymood |
nice one there. Mineral exploration cool. I was thinking......can you map deep underground structures like faults, to creat reservoir models.............. With arcgis and if yes, wat kind of data set would be need to map a depth of like 1-5km or more |
happy birthday ajoskele. May your reign as cso be long. Long live 14A |
olaniyanibukun0: Good morning OP, I'm sorry if I'm breaking d rules of this thread but I studied Physics but did my project in Geophysics. My supervisor taught me how to use Geosoft then and after graduation, I still helped an Msc student to analyse his project using d software. My question now is........... Will switching to the geophysics line be easy for a physics graduate and if it is, how can I go about it? I finished from OAU with a very good CGPA. ASSU has kept me waiting since Feb for Nysc.. What can u advice to be doing at d moment before d Nysc call upwelcome bro, wat was your project about and what does geosoft do? We must v taken courses together i mean phy203,306 and the likes. I rep geophysics oau, Awaiting nysc scheme. |
Good evening house! information jez reaching my desk says the ASUU strike will come to an end on thursday. Can someone pls confirm |
