Why does this FPS game have an actual lore or story u follow like some well written rpg?

I thought the point to this game is to randomly shoot at ur enemy's platoon with ur own m8s to gain the highest number of score points in the shortest possible time.

Now that u mentioned that one of the characters is from africa, may I also ask why (referring to something in the past that I read buried up in here from u) some characters in the game are gay


Heck, how does that benefit the game? it's an FPS, is the lesbian suddenly light-on-the-trigger against similar sexed characters in the game?

Do some characters make out amidst the shooting?
