To eat.

1) Swallow - Oats , Green Plantain check if you can get chia seeds and add a little blended.
2) Vegetables and salad - This should be your main meal you can have your salad with egg. Salad with chicken.
3) Beans the different kinds eg, black eyed, oloyin etc
4) Drinks and fruits - Sour sop, cucumber, make your own hibiscus drink sweetened with dates or pineapple
5) Snack on nuts and edible seeds.
6) Herbs (try to get seeds and plant the ones you can) and Iru instead of maggi and little sea salt. Coriander, parsley, rosemary, garlic, ginger, turmeric etc
7) Go to vegetables is all of the usual suspects ( ugu, waterleaf, bitter leaf, Oha, moringa, Ewedu, Okro, tête, etc)
Meat protein - Fish, Chicken, Turkey, other birds, eggs, little cattle, goat, ram and bush meat.
9) Peppersoup with spices that you ground yourself and add little yam or sweet potatoes and lots of cabbage and carrots vegetables etc to fill you up.
10) Teas - guava leaf, moringa leaf, soursop leaf, hibiscus( zobo) can be served hot as tea.
11) Stews with vegetables.


Avoid if you can rice, boiled yam, Irish potatoes, semo, garri, processed meat (sausages) and soft sweet drinks, bread, spaghetti and indomie, seed oils.

When it comes particularly to carbs which turn to sugar, portion sizes and mixing with fibre is critical

If you can’t avoid then

A) Rice wash 3 times, mix with beans, eat with vegetables or okro and just have one serving spoon.
2) Yam. 1 slice of roasted yam with the back on and eat with vegetables.
3) Irish Potatoes yellow better than white and about 3 medium pieces with vegetables or eggs. Also sweet potato is much better.
4) Semo and garri best to substitute with swallow above ie oat and green plantain otherwise add beetroot or turmeric juice while turning.
5) Suasages substitute with fish or eggs
6) soft drinks and malt substitute with homemade hibiscus drink (zobo) and water. The ones bought are made with saccharine which is deadly for people with diabetes
7) Bread - make your own with lentils or beans look for recipes online. Alternatively not more than 2 slices.
Spaghetti and noodles very small sizes and mix with carrots, cabbage, eggs, salad onion, garlic, peas to fill up.
9) Most of the oil in the market called vegetable oil are seed oils and should be avoided. Most things can be cooked without oil if not use butter(not margarine) or lard from soft animal fat or olive oil and coconut oil. Better to use little palm oil than seed oils.

At the beginning it is difficult but once you set up and you have regular light then it gets better. The mixed herbs I blend fresh and freeze in ice blocks containers and the mixed vegetables I cut and wash and also freeze in portions.

We all have cheat days maybe once a week you just eat a small portion of something you like I do.

Also rest and walks. Intermittent fasting and limiting your food to 2 times a day will also help. I eat at about 10am to 12pm and again between 4pm to 6pm.

But the tithe system is good for the church. It's not a burdensome sacrifice. So many give much more than that. Only those who are not actively involved in the work of the ministry condemn tithing.

Pastors who preach against it run their churches without structures that requires to employ staff to be paid.

The tenth that Abram gave was customary after his victory in a war. It was taken from spoil of war and not a continuous monthly contribution like you have been taught. Abam and the patriachs never gave tenth from their own possession thereafter until the law of moses. Even the Israelites gave tithe only after harvest. It was not a regular periodic payment.

I know that tithe is a major source of revenue and that's why pastors will never preach the whole truth about it. But to mandate it and call it a requirement for Christians is an error no matter how popular and fashionable it sounds.

God is concerned about those who serve in his vineyard. There are many workers also who work full time in the vineyard of God today. Do you think God cares less about them. So, if there are no farmers, they should starve to death working for God. I know you will say God can sustain his workers. Why didn't he tell the Levites to expect manner from heaven?

So, it's common sense if you love God to commit at least 10% to support the workers in the house of God.

But when the church has reached an overflowing measure in the amount of tithes they receive, they should give back to help the widow, orphans, fatherless and the poor in their midst. This is just my area of concern.

If you don't want to tithe because it wasn't emphasized by Jesus, then practice what Jesus instructed - Sell all that you have and give to the poor- Luke 12:33. This is giving away your 100%. Please start doing that if you truly want to walk in the light of the teachings of our Lord Jesus.

The bible is not complicated and most of its instructions are written in plain languages.

Our error often begin when we try to read extra meaning into what is written.

Tithe was never money and I don't need to read the mind or God to know that. Tithe to the Israelites was meant for the Levites (who had no land, no possessions, no other job or businesses), the widows, orphans and family members.

Again Jesus never instructed any of his disciples or followers to sell all they have like you tried to emphasize. Again it's not a commandment.

I was hungry and ye feed me, naked and ye cloth me..... Many Christians have shut their bowels of mercy because they believe that giving 10% to a church religiously is more important than taking care of the needy in the house of God.

I make bold to say that God will accept 500 you give to the poor Christian who is genuinely in need than the millions you give as tithe in church that will never get to that poor man.
