That a project has been budgeted for doesn't exclude it from benefiting from public donations especially when the project is a public service like a library, university etc.

Many Nigerians don't even understand the concept of a budget which is an estimate of what the ministry intends to do "IF" the funds requested are provided the reality is the government then have to generate a surplus revenue or go borrow to fund that budget.

Most budgets in Nigeria are unfortunately not always implemented due to funding constraints, it was only under the Buhari administration that we first went past 70% budget performance. They claimed as high as 93% over the 8 yrs but I doubt that figure.

It's is not peculiar to Nigeria the call for donations, our national children's hospital in the country I reside has gone over budget something like 250% and has been delayed over 3yrs but we all still donate to the cause and the national cancer research which I donate over £20 to monthly which is funded by the government and othe endowments and charity trusts but there is never enough funding for education, research, public services etc.

All this long turenchi just to Justify a first lady begging for money from the public for a project that is budgeted. Must you people defend everything?

I detest drivers that flash. A lot of them are not fit to be drivers. And it's as if no one observes the 80km/hr speed limit on that bridge except me. May be because I drive slower vehicles
At least, I have driven a few cars through that bridge and never exceeded 90km/hr before the renovation and never exceeded 80km/hr after the renovation.

You have said the hard truth. I think there are speed cameras on the bridge but they have not been activated. That's why people exceed the limit without any penalty. You can suddenly become the odd one out if you obey the 80km/h speed limit when everyone else is on 100-120. Personally I don't give in to loud honks and flashes. When they guy taya e go comot from my back.

I encourage everyone to keep to the speed limit, it's for our own safety and for safety of other road users.

On the issue of discipline sincerely this out generation will be worse than the politicians we are currently complaining about. No self control, no self restraint. Majority of youths don't have any moral guardrail. I shake my head when I see what this generation is becoming

Last 2week I drove on that bridge, I noticed most drivers was doing 100km/h on that bridge. I felt I was the only one driving slow at 76/80.

Speed limit is actually 80kmph but Lagos drivers no dey hear word. One was flashing me to drive faster last week but I just ignored until he got tired and decided to overtake

I get what you mean. Our people get their own madness but you see this issue of switching off phones? Modern tech has overcome it but some rules/regulations die hard. It's absolutely needless to switch off phone on a modern aircraft. I travel regularly and this is my experienve. I use airplane mode on my own and Never for once have I been told to switch off my phone

The standard is for phones to be turned off during take off or landing. Question is why do airlines provide WiFi services if mobile phone usage is not safe? In Nigeria, we included even during the flight which makes no sense at all!

Those saying cant people do without their phones or electronic devices don't realise the work some people can achieve in that time. Nervous flyers also need something to take their attention of the flight and focus it on something.

We love draconian laws...that is how out solution to the bombing attacks in Abuja that year was to ban power bikes and the solution to one chance was to ban tint permits!

I believe you are a Christian. Now I totally disagree with is behaviour of wearing short to the gym. A pastor most behave according to is calling. A pastor is not a celebrity neither do they have some kind of privileges like other members of the church to act in a way that is convenient to them.
As you become a pastor you automatically drop some certain lifestyle.
However I need to correct you also. A pastor is never answerable to any member of the church nor any elder. In fact the pastor is the first elder of the church. Study your Bible well my friend. The pastor is the shepherd of the church, he leads and others follow. What we do is to pray for our pastors for them to work in knowledge of their calling and office. We pray according to Paul that the God of all grace will fill them with the spirit of wisdom and understanding, that they will work worthy of the Lord in all the will of Christ.
In Christianity we are not giving the role to criticize a pastor or a certain individuals to have that role as the police of the church.
In conclusion, what you want the members of the church to do or elders to do. It's the Holy Spirit that plays that role.
Lastly, we have pastors community who speak to themselves someone might have told him that he doesn't think it's proper to be dressing that way, but he would have rejected that advise thinking that it doesn't matter but it matters.

Pastor is not answerable to church elders? No wonder new generation pastors carry themselves like small gods. A pastor is a human being, can make mistakes and should be subject to discipline and rebuke by elders

Nigeria has to make enduring and sustainable socio-capitalist, competitively free-market and private sector-driven progress. This is what the reforms of Tinubu, though punitive in the short term, will deliver.

If the North does not want self-determined peace, progress and socio-capitalist progress then they should remain behind while the rest of us move forward progressively under greater regional autonomy.

The likes of that Aminda chap, blindly behind born-to-rule Northerners like Atiku and Malami etal, do not mean well for Nigeria and Nigerians.

Chief there is nothing progressive about Tinubu's economic policies. You cannot keep impoverishing the people while doling out money to politicians and call that progress. You can't tax an already poor nation into prosperity. Tinubu has increased existing tax and created new ones in just two years. And what has all that money translated to in terms of development? Fuel price is still going up. Governors lavish subsidy windfall as they like. All manner of regulations and laws are being passed to further frustrate the masses.

This was How buhari was encouraged to make wrong policies with the promise that the suffering is short term. I'm sure we know better today. Tinubu started on a wrong foot and unfortunately the people that should call him to order are busy singing his praise.

Even southwest is impacted by the economic woes and Tinubu cannot get the same number of votes he got in 2023 if elections were conducted today. Let's tell ourselves the truth. The economy is worse off for the common man today
