dominique: How about the embalmed anaconda? Is it still there? Hope the lions are better fed now? They looked emanciated last time I was there About the lions, I think they are taking care of them well. Just a lion was there at first. Returning there in 2008 they have increased to I think 5 Presently they should be up to 8 or 9 and now in different cages, some are indoor and others outdoor. They are the last I should be uploading

dominique: How about the embalmed anaconda? Is it still there? Hope the lions are better fed now? They looked emaciated last time I was there The first time I went there in 1999 the anaconda was still alive, the embalmed one I saw when I got there in 2008 isn't the one I saw in 1999, it's smaller and has a different color. As at now the embalmed one is not even there anymore I also didn't see the python may be the present students have eaten them 1 Like

Politics / 2 Feared Dead As Vehicle Falls Off Bridge In Ibadan by IB5(f): 7:04pm On Mar 13, 2013 |
Written by Tunde Ogunesan TWO people were feared dead on Sunday afternoon, as a black Toyota jeep with registration number Lagos BDG 594 AC fell off a bridge at the Sawmill side of the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, killing one of the occupants and an okada rider instantly. The victims, the Nigerian Tribune gathered, were an okada rider, with motorcycle’s registration number Oyo BDJ 638 QA and one of the four occupants of the car. Eyewitnesses informed the Nigerian Tribune that the Jeep, which was coming from Iwo road side of the expressway, had one its tyres burst, leading to loss of control by the driver and subsequent fall off the bridge. It was gathered that the car was “seen somersaulting when one of its tyres burst and fell off in-between the bridges. As it landed, it fell on an okada rider, who was trying to lift a passenger going to Alakia area.” The okada rider was said to have died on the spot. Also, the Nigerian Tribune was informed that the remains of the victims had been deposited at a mortuary, while other injured persons were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. http://tribune.com.ng/news2013/index.php/en/component/k2/item/7044-2-feared-dead-as-vehicle-falls-off-bridge-in-ibadan |

seunny4lif: For the guy dat said igbos made up 40% on school in sw?Are u for real?Becos in my deprtmt in FUTA will only hav 12 non swner and 2 are igbos while the others are frm ND,Mid belt region and we are 120 in a class.....On every admission year names of student admitted are released on notice board and hardly hav I set my eyes on an igbo names....Last year convocation produced just 25 igbo names or it nt even up to 25 self becos futa no dey like many students for the school....If u hav anybody in FUTA,pls kind ask him or her.....And the same in OAU,IB,UNAD,AAUA,LAUTECH,UNILORIN,UNILAG and Uni of agric,Ogun state... these schls na die to get admission ooo I don't know where these people are getting their statistics from. Where I school in Lagos, in a department of 30+ we had only 2 igbo, one from Abia and the other from Imo. The Northerners we had were even more than the Igbos, two from Kaduna and the other from Nasarawa. The zone with the highest number of students behind the southwesterners is the Southsouth zone, with one from Cross-river, one from Akwa-Ibom, one from Bayelsa, two from Edo and two from Delta(1 Itsekiri & 1 Urobo may be). Then left with the Yorubas, in a place like Lagos they claimed they dominated. They have forgotten that schools located in SouthWest have a quota which they must admit from the state hosting them. UI, OAU, Unilorin, Unilag, Lauthec and the rest admits 30% if I am correct of the indigenous students. Other 70% are left for outsiders with other SouthWest States included. How come Igbos admitted can now be more than 20%? I doubt if igbos admitted in any Southwest federal and state universities can be up to 10%. Southwest private instituions may be a bit higher though, which even the Yorubas admitted can't be less than 65%. |

Car Talk / Car Accident You've Had As A Driver Or As A Passenger by IB5(f): 2:33am On Mar 11, 2013 |
Just think it won't be bad if we can share our experiences of accident(s) we've had either as a passenger or as the driver, minor or major Mine As the driver Was still learning how to drive some years back, entered a filling station to top my tank. As I drove in, saw this clean pathfinder jeep packed down, was trying to avoid any collision with it without minding one rugged taxi at my left side. As I turned to the left in the cause of being cautious, my side of the car came in contact with the bumper of the taxi. As a learner I didn't bother to halt but kept moving. I later stopped when my car has been scratched from the front to the back at the side looked at the taxi driver with his 'I'll kill you today look' didn't bother to get out of the car, my instructor did the begging Fortunately for him and unfortunately for me, nothing happened to his car because he had this crazy strong locally made bumper, some part of my car was pressed in and deformed. First and the only should I say accident or crash I ever had as a driver. As a passenger. Myself and mum were inside the car with my brother behind the wheel along Ibadan-Ife Express. There was dew and the road surface was still wet. Bro was driving on top speed, talking and with less concentration. Suddenly he noticed a pothole not far away along our lane, it's a dual carriageway just like that of Lagos-Ibadan expressway. As he turned the wheel so as to avoid the pothole, the car just drifted to the wide space between the ongoing vehicle's lane and the incoming ones that has been occupied by little shrubs and tall grasses. Still with high speed inside the small bush, he was trying to regain the control but crossed the ongoing vehicles lane to a thicker bush, luckily for us the road wasn't busy, had it been another vehicle was coming may be we would have been cleared off he kept moving in the bush till the car was stopped by friction from grasses and bushes. Got the car out from the bush and back on road. Got to police check point, they were like; WTF, are we from the forest? Share yours |
