A daughter of polygamous sect leader, Warren Jeffs , said he sexually abused her for years when she was a child growing up in the secretive group , according to an interview aired Friday on “ Megyn Kelly Today . ”

Rachel Jeffs , now 33 , told NBC News the abuse began when she was eight years old and happened countless times, despite her mother’ s attempt to intervene, before she confronted him about it in a letter at age 16 .

Other former members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints , including son Roy Jeffs , have also accused him of sexually abusing them as children .

Rachel Jeffs has penned a book about her experiences titled “ Breaking Free : How I Escaped Polygamy , the FLDS Cult, and My Father , Warren Jeffs . ”

Warren Jeffs is serving a life prison sentence in Texas for assaulting girls he considered wives . He does not have a lawyer and did not respond to NBC’ s request for comment .

At age 18, Rachel Jeffs was informed she would become the third wife of a man in the group , a breakaway sect based along the Utah- Arizona border . The prospect left her shaken and afraid , as did her father ’ s suggestion that she try to become pregnant with her new husband’ s child on the day of the wedding.

She left the group after her father sent her away from her children for months at a time over perceived wrongs she denied committing.

“ I felt that he was punishing me for what he did to me . Like he was trying to break me and make me feel like I was worse than him , ” she said . “And I wouldn’ t let myself go there . I knew he had done wrong , and I didn’ t want to let him break me . ”

However , the husband told the court not to dissolve the marriage , saying he still loves his wife .

“ I love my wife . I kindly ask her to give me a chance to solve the prolonged erection . I did that in the belief that I would sexually satisfy her and I didn’ t know that it would wreck my marriage , ” he said .

Court Chief , Chireya , told B -Metro that he was working on mending the marriage by engaging both parties.

- Former governor Mahmuda Shinkafi of Zamfara state has left the PDP for the APC

- Shinkafi led his supporters to the ruling party and was received by the deputy governor of the state

- He promised to play roles in the advancement of the APC in both Zamfara and Nigeria

Mahmuda Shinkafi, the former governor of Zamfara state, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Shinkafi has now picked the APC membership card at the party’s secretariat in Gusau, the capital of the state.

The report said Shinkafi was accompanied to the venue by party supporters and was received by state’s deputy governor, Ibrahim Wakkala, on behalf of Governor Abdul’Aziz Yari.

After picking his membership card, Shinkafi promised to work for the development of the party not only at the state level but the country as a whole.

“My coming to APC is home coming for me, because I left it before and now I am back home to my brothers and sisters.

“Together we are going to work for the party to become stronger and the party to beat in the state,” he said.

On his part, Wakkala said: “It is not a matter of coming back but it is a return to the fold of Yarimawa. Together we are going to build the APC to become more vibrant and a viable political party in the state and country.”

Shinkafi was a deputy governor during the administration of Ahmad Sani for eight years under the platform of the All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP).

He became the governor of the state in 2007 under the ANPP before defecting to the People Democratic Party (PDP) in 2008, after being elected as the governor in 2007.

He sought re-election in 2011 and 2015 and lost to incumbent Governor Abdul’Aziz Yari of the APC.

Zambian Government Gives Apostle Johnson Suleman’s Pastor 48 Hours Notice To Leave

The Government of Zambia has given a Nigerian pastor, Pastor Augustine Oso Ebosele of Omega Fire Ministries in Lusaka 48 hours notice to leave the country. 

The country said it decided not to renew the employment permit of the cleric because his conduct has divided the Omega Fire Ministries into two parties.

OFM was founded by Apostle Johnson Suleman.

Chief Government Spokesperson Kampamba Mulenga made this announcement in Lusaka, the Zambia capital.

Ms Mulenga said it was feared that with the Pastor’s continued stay in the country, the acrimony in Omega Fire Ministries could result into the breakdown and law and order.

She said Pastor Obesele was given 48 hours to leave the country, in accordance with the Immigration and Deportation Act number 18 of 2010.

She added that contrary to speculations, the Government has not closed Omega Fire Ministries and was not against Nigerian Pastors.

She added, “Omega Fire Ministries Headquartered in Nigeria is free to send a senior pastor to come and help reconcile the membership in Lusaka. Members of the church should avoid speculation and remain calm as matters are being dealt with the Church authority.
