THIS PIECE OF NEWS RAISES MORE QUESTIONS THAN IT PROVIDES ANSWERS TO:

1) Why was the tanker not arrested in Nigerian waters only for the Nigerian Navy to give a tip off to the Ghanain Navy? Where were the Nigerians when the tanker was loading the oil and later departed Nigerian waters?

2) How did the Navy ascertain that the oil was stolen? Did they investigate the Bill of Lading before rushing to label the oil stolen?

3) Why did the Ghanain Navy arrest only the tanker from Nigeria while leaving the Ghanain tanker it was discharging into? Are not both the buyers and sellers of a 'stolen' item equally guilty of same offence?

The Ghanain Navy are still naïve in the offshore patrolling and should not allow themselves to be put into situations that may end up as an embarrassment to them.

The Ghanain authorities should carry out a thorough and investigation to unearth a) the real cargo owners and ship owners b) where the oil was loaded/ 'stolen' from, c) what date it was loaded so Nigeria can investigate the complicity of the Navy/JTF officers on duty at that time, and d) who received payment for the oil in Nigeria.

WE NEED TO SEE ACTION BEING TAKEN AND NOT JUST TALK!!
