Blood is obviously an important component of your erection: If there’s not enough of it flowing to your man-hood, you won’t be able to inflate to full mast—and stay that way. But can your blood type affect how hard it is for you to, well, get hard? Researchers from Turkey say that it can. In their study, they discovered that men with type O blood were significantly less likely to have erectile dysfunction (ED) than those with type A, type B, or type AB blood. In fact, guys with type A and type B blood were about 4 times as likely to suffer from ED than men with type O blood—and men with type AB blood had nearly 5 times the risk. The link isn’t as far-fetched as it may seem. Scientists have previously determined that some blood types—particularly AB—have been linked to other health conditions, including heart disease, higher cholesterol, and blood clots. And the same mechanism responsible for those kinds of issues may be driving the link between blood type and ED. In fact, prior studies have concluded that problems with erections may pop up three years before heart disease surfaces. That’s because the arteries in your man-hood are much smaller than the arteries around your heart, so they’re more likely to show effects from damage or buildup first. It’s possible that people with type A and type B blood have greater levels of adhesion molecules in their blood, which can lead to the development of plaque buildup in the arteries. This can affect blood flow, both to the heart and to the man-hood—leading to an increased risk of heart disease and erectile dysfunction. It’s also possible that other genetic components of the A and B blood types may lead to blood vessel damage, which can disrupt the biological processes necessary in getting an erection.

The federal government of Nigeria has declared that President Muhammadu Buhari will continue to rest until he has fully recovered and fit to work based on his doctor’s advice. Speaking to pressmen on Wednesday at the end of the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the Minister of Information and Culture, Mr. Lai Mohammed, said Buhari was not in the meeting because he chose to rest. The information minister further reacted to inquiries by State House correspondents, who sought to know if the president’s health had deteriorated to the extent that he was being fed. His words: “The answer to your first question is absolute bunkum. It is absolutely untrue that he is being fed. He was in the office yesterday as you all reported. “And if the doctors say he should take a rest, because they think he’ll recover faster, then he ought to rest rather than forcing himself to work when he is not fit to work. “All he’s doing is following the doctor’s advice. Mr. President himself told the nation he had never been this sick and he is going to take it easy. He said it from day one when he came back from the United Kingdom. “So, whatever is happening today is not any strange development. It is exactly what he said: that he’s been advised to take it easy by his doctors and that he will soon also go back for further treatment. “So, I don’t think it’s anything that is out of the place from what he said. He has been quite transparent and upfront in the matter concerning his health.”[b]The federal government of Nigeria has declared that President Muhammadu Buhari will continue to rest until he has fully recovered and fit to work based on his doctor’s advice. The minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, has said that it is unfair and unjust to blame the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government for the current economic hardship in the country. Speaking in an interview, Chief Ogbeh blamed the economic recession on the fall of the naira which, he said, was ‘’inevitable’’. The minister also called on the younger generation to be cautious while heeding to advice from economists abroad to avert doom. Ogbeh said that although Nigerians expected fantastic change to happen in the country, but, the fall of naira was inevitable and that it made people angry and resentful. He noted that blaming the current administration alone is absolutely unfair and unjust. On devaluation of the nation’s currency, the minister stated that the current administration did not agree to devalue the naira, even though there were pressures by economists globally who advised that the only way to stabilise the naira was to devalue it. Ogbeh said that the current administration was also accused of falsely fighting or defending the naira, adding that not devaluing the nation currency was not tenable, ‘’You hear them on radio, let a free fall, let the currency determine its own level, the same people then turn around to say life was becoming too rough.’’ ‘’Left to the President, if he had the power to fix it at N50 to one dollar, he would have done it, late Gen. Sani Abacha tried it, but the increasing demand and lack of production of raw materials to finished goods has remain a bane. ‘’Nigeria do not produce sugar, milk, honey, everything here is imported and then suddenly, your foreign reserve dropped. And you were not earning any more dollars and government said if we continue this way, one afternoon there would be nothing left in the treasury, because it is at a time the CBN told us the demand for dollars was high and our foreign reserve had dropped to about $19 billion. In less than two months we would have been totally bankrupt. ‘’Who would have been blamed then? The advisers or the federal government? So in one breath, they tell you to do this, you do it and the results become disastrous and then they go into hiding, so we had to do, what we had to do and believe me in future, the younger generation have got to be careful with advice received from abroad,’’ he said. Ogbeh also expressed confidence that All Progressives Congress (APC) will win the general elections in 2019. He said farmers as well as rural dwellers for the first time in their lives are now enjoying life to the fullest, while the elite are grumbling because they believe that the ‘’colony of slaves in the villages are toiling for them.’’ The minister admitted that there might be difficulties in the APC party structure but assured that things will get back to its rightful place. According to him, ‘’There may be difficulties in the party structure, yes but we will correct those things we need to improve, but I am telling you about elections, I laugh when I hear the elite talking, do they go out on election day? We know them, they do not want to get involved, and no, there could be violence, so they do not want to get involved, they are in the house.’’[b]The minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, has said that it is unfair and unjust to blame the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government for the current economic hardship in the country. Boko Haram’s leader Abubakar Shekau has been injured and one of his deputies killed in an air strike in northeast Nigeria, civilian and security sources told AFP on Wednesday. Two Nigerian Air Force jets bombarded fighters who had gathered for prayers in Balla village, some 40 kilometres (25 miles) from Damboa, on the edge of the Sambisa Forest, last Friday. “Shekau was wounded in the bombings and is believed to be receiving treatment near the Nigerian border with Cameroon around Kolofata,” said one source with contacts within Boko Haram. |

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Monday allayed fears that plans by his administration to phase out the yellow commercial buses, popularly known as Danfo would lead to massive job losses, saying that it would instead create more jobs in the transportation sector. The Governor, who spoke at the May Day Rally held at the Agege Stadium to commemorate the 2017 Workers Day Celebration, said the Bus Reform Initiative, aimed at introducing over 5000 air-conditioned buses to replace the Danfo buses would open new vista of opportunities, while also redefining the means of road transportation in the State. Responding to the fears raised by the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Lagos Council, Comrade Idowu Adelakun and his Trade Union Congress (TUC) counterpart, Comrade Francis Ogunremi on the implications of the initiative to drivers, conductors, mechanics and other artisans, Governor Ambode assured that it would benefit all Lagosians on the long run. He said: “If Lagos is to be globally competitive, we need to change the outlook of the way the city runs. What is of paramount interest to this government is to make sure that every Lagosian has a comfortable means of moving from one point to the other. But I promise you there will be no job losses. “The Governor is not interested in driving all the new buses. It is the same bus drivers, the technicians, the mechanics that will also still be employed and trained to use these new buses. Instead of job losses, we are going to employ more people for the greater number of the buses and it will make the city more beautiful and more comfortable for all our workers.” Governor Ambode, who also addressed the request of the labour leaders on workers’ welfare, assured that as the State’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) continues to increase, his administration would work out modalities to improve the welfare of workers in line with his mantra of all-inclusive governance. The Governor said that his administration was ready to look into the plight of pensioners as regards the pace of paying pension, assuring that the process would be fast tracked immediately. “Just like we have said, we have provided vehicles for the unions but again it has not gone round and it has also not gone round to the private sector unions, we will complete the whole scheme before the end of the year,” he said. The Governor said as part of the celebration of 50 years of the State, his administration would provide a befitting State Secretariat for the NLC, while government would also work on local and international training for labour leaders to make them relevant to the growth of the economy. Governor Ambode also assured that the officers of the State Public Service, who according to him, are the real drivers of the development in the State, would continue to be equipped with the necessary competencies and skills in order to deliver effective and efficient service to the people. Commending the choice of this year’s May Day celebration themed, “Labour Relations in Economic Recession: An Appraisal,” the Governor said the leadership of Labour unions had demonstrated a responsible sense of stakeholding in the joint enterprise to improve the society and leave lasting legacies for the generations to come through the creation of sustainable wealth and value. Besides, the Governor enjoined the organised labour to continue to show understanding, while rightly insisting on the due and just entitlements of their members, saying that any industrial unrest will compound the challenges of economic recession. “I wish to commend the example of Lagos State to the entire nation in respect of industrial harmony. In Lagos State, both the government and organised labour believe that negotiations are more democratic and effective than unilateral impositions by the government or unilateral demands by the workers,” he said. While alluding to the fact that his administration would not have been able to fulfill the electoral promises without the support of the “most versatile, resilient and innovative Public Service in the nation”, he noted that the immense contributions of all workers in the private sector was also chiefly responsible for the pride of place that Lagos occupies in our nation, in Africa and in the world at large. Earlier, Comrades Adelakun and Ogunremi commended Governor Ambode for his commitment to workers’ welfare and the determination with which he had been transforming the State, describing the Governor as an accomplished accounting professional, creative intellectual, skilled planner and focused implementor. The May Day Rally featured March pasts from various Labour Unions, Trade Organisations and its Affiliates who trooped out enmasse despite the heavy downpour and were excited to see the Governor celebrate the day with them. |
Big Brother Naija's third runner up, Tokunbo Idowu aka TBoss was a guest on Rubbin Minds that aired on Channels television and she spoke on some of the controversies surrounding her, her fellow housemate Kemen, AY the comedian's joke about her and Kemen and Reuben Abati's article. During the interview, Tboss disclosed that Kemen has tried calling her over 15 times since she returned to Nigeria but she isn't ready to speak with him. TBoss says although they have met a few times at functions, she isn't ready to speak with him. She added that she felt violated by Kemen's action. "I considered Kemen a friend. He was my go-to guy. He was my buddy, my muscle. He encouraged me. He motivated me. So for what happened to have happened considering all the people that look up to me, it was sad. I was angry. I was humilated and I did feel violated but I don't play the victim card. I honestly think that the decision that Big Brother took was the only decision that could have been taken. And everything that Kemen has to say about that, na him get him mouth, e fit use am talk wetin him wan talk but he knows and we know". Asked if she has seen him since she came out of the house, TBoss replied "I have seen him a few times but I really don't want to talk to him because honestly the day you (Ebuka) came into the house with Karen, I was thinking what would happen if I see Kemen because I thought there would be a party after then. I just wanted to slap him. I think I even said that but then I came out and I said you know what everyone can make mistake because I am an attractive person but then, I come out and I hear the interviews he has given, today he makes an apology and then tomorrow he comes out to say TBoss knows what happened and that if there was no N25 million involved, hopefully she would tell the truth. What truth are you talking about? You are contradicting yourself. And then you are calling me? He has called me like over 15-20 times but I don't want to speak to him. I am not ready because if I talk, I would say the wrong things. I want to calm down". On AY's joke, TBoss says "I totally feel it was insensitive of him. It was very insensitive because like I said, I have a lot to say. Everyone who watched the show knows I am a very emotional person and I am very sensitive and this is not something that can be overlooked or joked about. I see the comments. I sneak into my Instagram and see the comments and I am like look, you are a female. This could have happened to you. This probably has happened to you. This incident was on camera. People saw it and people still chose to make light of this situation and make a joke out of it. If I consent to you touching me, that doesn't mean I consent to you kissing me or going the extra mile. if you do that to me on international tv and someone out there feels it is content for a joke, its unfair. You do not have to have a daughter or a sister or any female that is close to you for you to know that what went down was not ok. You just made a mockery of my emotions and my pain. That was insensitive". On Reuben Abati's article, TBoss said "That was sad, that was just sad. Coming from someone of that calibre". TBoss maintained that if she won the N25 million, it would have finished in a week given all the things she would use it for. She said she had planned to take her mum on an all expense paid holiday, get her dad something lovely, give her five god-children good education and then if anything is left of it, she would buy herself a Chanel bag.
