PoliticsWhat Is President Buhari Doing In Chad & Niger? by ican2020(op): 11:48am On Jun 05, 2015
It’s A Disgrace That Neighbours Must Take On Boko Haram –Buhari

Presidential flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari is appalled that neighbouring Chad and Cameroun are turning out to be more successful at the battle front against Boko Haram than Nigeria.

Nigeria’s poor performance,he says,is a disgrace.

“It’s a big disgrace for Nigeria. It is now Cameroon and Chad fighting the insurgency more than Nigeria. We will build the capacity and Nigeria should be able to secure its territorial integrity,” Buhari told Reuters.

Troops from neighbouring Chad, Niger and Cameroon, all much smaller and poorer than Nigeria, have been battling the terrorists who have seized territory in Borno State.

Niger Republic said yesterday its troops killed 109 Boko Haram fighters in an attempted attack on Bosso close to the border with Nigeria.

The attack was repelled.

Buhari said that he was committed to using the courts if there are irregularities in the voting, and would not call his followers into the streets.

“I’m optimistic that I won’t lose. But we signed an undertaking that it will be violence free,” Buhari said. “We are attempting to stabilise a multi party democratic system.”

Buhari’s party,APC, insists that this month’s elections should proceed as scheduled ,saying the only reason the pro-Jonathan camp is pushing for a delay is that it knows he will lose if voting goes ahead now.

“There will be no delay. But if INEC is compromised then it will be too bad,” said Buhari.

Buhari said his administration also intends to tackle corruption within the Nigerian National Petroleum Corp (NNPC) and plans to reopen an investigation into missing crude revenues of around $20 billion.

He would also tackle the theft of crude tapped from pipelines in the Niger River delta.

“Our main objective is to secure the country. We will not tolerate insurgency, sabotage of the economy by the blowing up of installations, by stealing crude and so on…. All these things will be things of the past.”

PhonesWill Glo Nigeria Ever Change? by ican2020(op): 5:57am On Jun 01, 2015
I have been using Glo Nigeria for more than 8 years now and due to their insincerity, I stop using their data service on my phone.
For over 3 years now, Glo gives me data simply because I recharge often and I don’t make any attempt to use these data cause I do not trust Glo, I see them as an unrepentant thief.
Thinking the new change in Nigeria might have rub off on them, I decided to use the 15MB suppose data today and before doing that, I check my balance and I had close to N300 and I browsed for few minutes, I checked my balance again and my money is gone.
No matter how you treat a thief, a thief remains a thief.
Glo’s punishment is that my recharge every month that is above N2000 is hereby suspended for at least 2 years.

PoliticsGov-elect Accuses Kwankwaso Of Leaving Empty Treasury by ican2020(op): 5:56am On May 29, 2015
KANO—The Transition Committee set up by Kano State Governor- elect, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje Thursday, said that the outgoing governor, Rabi’u Kwankwaso has not only left an empty treasury but additional liability of N379 billion.

Chairman of the 93-member committee and Deputy Governor-elect, Professor Hafiz Abubakar, who read the abridged copy of its final report stated that ‘’hard times await Kano and it might take patience to get along.’’

Abubakar, a professor of Food Nutrition gave the break down of liability by the Kwankwaso’s administration adding that the total capital receipt to the state between May 2011 and May 2015 stood at N 419.75 billion out of which N430.6 billion was spent.

He further said total capital receipt by the 44 local government areas of the state within the same period stood at N346.591 billion which was expended on joint projects between the state government and the local governments.

Abubakar who served Kwankwaso as Commissioner for Finance between 1999-2003 explained that the outgoing administration initiated over 4,000 projects, for which over N140 billion was paid to contractors with N4.5billion still outstanding

socialmediaman:
I agree with many of your submissions, though I cannot completely absolve her of certain hardliner decisions that were imminent to the success of the administration which could not be taken, possibly for political reasons.

For instance, on the wage issue, I think it was perfectly okay to increase wages, especially if that was commensurate with output.. In some organizations, extra wages are paid based on dedication and work input, these are all policies that could be adopted. But notwithstanding, the hard decision needed to be taken to prune the workforce and overhead of government but everyone seemed to be careful not to say the "F" word and incur the heat of the labour leaders, so the government continued living in waste and I guess everyone should be held accountable, especially the finance and CBN heads, though like I earlier pointed out, the CBN already asked govt to cut down its staff, though without a solution.

On the issue of offering the workers some soft landing for cutting down staff strength, it would be non-negotiable in this case because they Have to go, but you just don't wanna let them go empty handed, it's a better option than the way government used to do things.

The Steve Orasanye report clearly stated that many ministries have to go and government would be able to save N400 billion, this money could be invested back into the economy for direct employment generation through business empowerment.

I cannot blame NOI without blaming the Head of Government himself, Jona, that's where the major problem was. She could've done so much better within a less corrupt and loose government. She's taking the heat now for the excesses of the government.
On increased wages, blame Federal Civil Service Commission that keep on employing people without due process.
Over 1000 persons where giving appointment letters through the back door by this useless organization and this is verifiable

I expected GMB to setup task force to probe how these people where employed without following due process from 2003 to date.

PoliticsJubilation In Delta As INEC Declares Pdp’s Okowa Winner by ican2020(op): 12:08pm On Apr 13, 2015
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, has been declared the winner of the last Saturday’s Delta State governorship election, as he polled a total of 724,680 votes to defeat his Labour Party Peoples (LP) counterpart, Chief Great Ogboru who scored 130,028 votes.

BusinessIs President’s 50% Price Cut Directive On Electricity Distributors Worthless? by ican2020(op): 5:34pm On Apr 08, 2015
I came back from the office this evening (8th April, 2014) and I was surprised to see light at home after more than four days without light blinking for a second in Dutse, Abuja.

The only reason why they brought light after 4 days was to distribute their exorbitant and fraudulent bills.
In the past 3 to 4 months, we do not get light up to 10 days in a month.
what normally happen is that they give us light for just 2 days and remove it for 4 or 5 days and it has been a re-occurring thing ever since and this is verifiable.

Just pay a visit to Dutse-Alhaji, Dutse-Makarata and Dutse-Buapma alone Bwari road and you will discover that these areas are always in darkness, yet the good for nothing thief Abuja Power Distribution Company keep on increasing our bills when we hardly see light

Just last month, the president issued a directive on 50% cut on electricity bill but I regret to say that the bill that I received at home today is the same exorbitant amount that I have been forced to pay these past months, no single kobo reduction.

My questions are:
Is Abuja Power Distribution Company bigger and greater than our Dear President?
Is Abuja Power Distribution Company above Nigeria Law?

Someone must call this arrogant company to order fast…

ghana is safe and protects its citizens
