Open Letter To NERC On Abuja Power Distribution Refusal To Give Us Light in Bwari Area Council of Abuja In the last 2 weeks, virtually all areas in Bwari Area Council have been experiencing the worst power supply of the decade. In the 3 Dutse’s, we hardly get light these days, yet Abuja Power Distribution company will still expect us to pay the exorbitant monthly estimated bill. Since Abuja Power Distribution has refused to give us light, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) should stop them from collecting October 2015 light bills from us, please. Change should touch all areas of life. |

A visit to ubec website some years ago and today’s visit shows that the first 9 years of Nigeria child education is free. http://ubeconline.com/ and http://www.fctubeb.gov.ng/index.php If it is free why all this school charges from the school’s management as showed by the attached documents. Besides the school charges, these junior secondary schools now have commercials bookshops where parents are arm twist to buy their so call un pirated books and their work books. To see how crafty these principals are, they just wrote English and mathematics with their work books, including literature in English without letting parents know their names, is that not stealing by trick. When you ask then question on these charges they will say private school pays more than that. For work books, what do a child who is sent to learn how to calculate and write good sentence doing with work books in English and mathematics, when that child is supposed to write inside his or her note books, or are the schools authority indirectly sending these children to private nursery school where children are given work books to colour and play with. No wonder these junior secondary schools students performed badly in that last junior waec exam. The Buhari’s governments as a matter of urgent national urgency show closed these schools Book Shops and call the Principals and PTA’s to order fast and address the school charges also.

A NL response to Police Salary Structure: "People let try to appreciate these people, am sure 90% of Nigerians detest the Police force due to corruption, but the fact remains that our govt is solely responsible for the rot in the system. You expect these sets of people to buy stuffs in the same mkt with you, they have responsibilities as you do with this stipends called salary.... Nigerians should fear God" If you call police pay stipends, what will you call below A Chief of Superintendent of Police, CSP, on grade level 12 (1) earns N172, 089.06, a CSP on the same level on step 8 earns N199, 723.96 Whereas, in Federal Civil Service, Level 12 step 5 earns less than 95,000.00 monthly. A sergeant major on grade level 06 (1) earns N53, 144.81 and the one on grade level 06 (10) earns N62, 204.88 per month, while Federal Civil Service STAFF ON level 6 step 3 earns less than 26,000.00 naira monthly. little comparison And the irony of it all is that the country still want these workers in Federal Civil Service to perform wonders... To whom much is given, much is expected. Even our dear President said Federal Civil Servants are lazy, inefficient and corrupt, what a country with misplaced minds |
Jonathan handed over to Buhari on May 29, 2015 and Jega brief the nation on their findings in June. The big questions are: Why are Buhari and APC using government agents that are supposed to be independent to try and get Rivers house through scam and falsehood? The other day, it was the army that said no election in one local government area. Now, it is the INEC official complaining it was a mockery: https://www.nairaland.com/2592591/rivers-governorship-election-sham-mockery Jega that oversee the whole election said it was good, some half brains refused to accept but prefer liars. Who gave this Charles Okoye, a so call staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission permission to speak for INEC? In government organization, staff has no permission to speak except the head of that agency gave the permission. Oh I see Buhari has enjoyed the Rivers fund looted by Amaechi to fund his campaign and he wants more, yes, this is the brain behind we must get Rivers by all means. Under age voted in Kano and many other states in the North, yet no noise is made about it. Buhari and APC should leave Rivers alone. |
Rivers State Election: Allegations of Electoral Fraud in Rivers Greatly Exaggerated By Jega 15 Jun 2015 The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, has disclosed that allegations that the elections in Rivers State were manipulated and flawed was exaggerated. Jega said the elections in the state was credible and the commission did the right by announcing the winner. The INEC chairman, according to an online news medium, Per SecondNews, made this disclosure in Washington, DC during a conversation with US policy makers, think-tanks and members of the international community. The event, tagged: ‘Nigeria’s 2015 Elections: What Have We Learnt?,’ was hosted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and anchored by Jenniffer Cooke, Director, African Programme at the institute. “We created a three man team to investigate the allegations of electoral malpractice, it was not true that elections didn’t take place in majority of the state, it was not true that results sheets was manipulated. There was no evidence of malpractice or photocopied result sheets, and no substantive evidence to establish alterations. “Rivers has become quite a big issue, and we did our best to be able to have enough evidence to make an informed decision before results were returned. We received reports of fake results sheets, use of photocopied result sheet, substitution of trend of INEC personnel and allegation of no election taking place in some polling units. “It came before we announced the results, so we immediately constituted a three-man team made up of national commissioners to go to Rivers State and investigate the allegations. “It was not true that elections did not take place in majority part of the state, in fact the evidence was that in the overwhelming majority election took place in most areas. “It wasn’t true that there was fake result sheets, there was no photocopied results sheets, there was no substantive evidence to support the wild allegations. “From our investigations we were satisfied that there was no substantive evidence to cancel the elections as agitated by some people, we also have people on ground and observers like TMG, and others who also gave us honest report about what happened. “I don’t think there was massive irregularities as reported in Rivers State, my advice is that they should go to the tribunal, if they have evidence, On our own part we have done our thorough investigation.” “We have scanned 95 percent of the results sheets from all the polling units and we will put them on our site once we get to 100 per cent.” “I am not saying their is no irregularities, but not to the magnitude that has been reported.” He said that the Orubebe incident was unfortunate and regrettable and advised statesmen to be statesmen and urged Nigerians to move on and forget about the incident. Setaje:Will the Android IMEI tweaking work in PC? And if yes, how do I go about it. |
See post from a great mind ''friends and colleagues from every part of the nation and some of my best friends are not even from my side of the country. However, recent events are making me to have a deeper reflection and I wish we- Southerners in this instance- can have some kind of introspection. Out of 25 appointments made so far, 18 are from the North, 3 are from the South West, 4 are from the South South while the South East has ZERO appointments. A tweet which I saw today stated that “southerners are only competent when it’s time for elections but northerners are competent in terms of governance” and this made the following thoughts run through my mind: 1. Only Southerners have been accusing fellow Southerners of corruption. Oshiomole has been attacking Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as if Ngozi turned down his marriage proposal. The same Oshiomole tried to make nonsense of Akinwumi Adeshina’s successes in the agriculture sector. Ambode tried to pull Fashola down and successfully smeared him with stains. Maybe that’s why Fashola did not get the Chief of Staff role. I’m yet to see a Northerner accuse another Northerner of corruption, even when they belong to different parties. The closest a Northerner got was when the new Kano State Governor attacked Rabiu Kwankaso but he quickly sheathed his sword and even disowned previous reports of attacks. Why are we like this? 2. Are Southerners the only ones who are corrupt? Were there no northerner heading the ministries and parastatals? Did the outgone Comptroller-General of Customs, Abdullahi Dikko not have an alleged case of certificate forgery but he still served out his tenure until he resigned voluntarily? I’m not in support of corruption under any guise but the fight against corruption must not be seen to be sectional. 3. How come it’s easier for the President to believe that Sanni Abacha was not corrupt in spite of recovered loot while it is so easy for him to believe Goodluck Jonathan is irredeemably corrupt? 4. I still remember that aside from God, Tinubu made Tambuwal what he is today. The same Tambuwal would later call Femi Gbajabiamila ‘incompetent’ and rated Dogara as more competent. The same Tambuwal was propped up by Tinubu, a Southerner against a fellow Southerner, Mulikat Akande. Obasanjo was very key to denying Goodluck Jonathan a second term. A good number can still recall how OBJ tore his PDP membership card in public glare. The Northerners find it easy to support themselves but we are always pulling ourselves down. Babangida Aliyu, Sule Lamido and all the other Northern Governors including the former PDP Chairman Adamu Muazu often times refused to campaign for Goodluck Jonathan openly and many times even espoused the virtues of the opposing candidate on the rostrum! 5. Southern leaders and Presidents pull down Southern business men but prop up Northern ones. How many people still remember how Obasanjo ran Mike Adenuga out of town but both Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan made Aliko Dangote what he is today. No northern leader goes against their own. I dare to put it on record that President Buhari will never go against Aliko Dangote for any reason. 6. How come OBJ pardoned Salisu Buhari, the ex-Speaker who forged his credentials and he later was given an appointment as a Governing Council member of a University and heavens did not fall- but when Goodluck Jonathan pardoned Alamieyeseigha it became one of the major issues counted against him? Is there one rule for some and another rule for others? 7. We find it easy to raise our voices in support of the deportation of Buruji Kashamu but have no qualms with Atiku Abubakar strutting around the corridors of power. 8. Only Southerners find it so easy to abuse their elders when they voice opinions not in tandem with the popular opinion. We find it easy to diss Afenifere elders and call them ‘Afenifebi’ while hurling expletives and curses at them. We even abuse our kings and priests. Northerners will never abuse an Emir no matter how unpopular what he said is. Can you imagine any Northerner raising his voice against the Sultan? In spite of Tanko Yakassai, Balarabe Musa and Dangiwa Umar’s perceived support for Jonathan, northern youths did not abuse them. But our own youths run down our elders on social media while our educated elite also support the act. These are some of the thoughts that have been running through my mind. I don’t pretend to have all the answers and I do this at the risk of being labelled an ethnic bigot. The point however is that Southerners have to get their acts right. We have to put our house in order. The bickering must stop. Let’s engage our emotional intelligence. Let’s not allow others to exploit our tendency to self-destruct.'' The greatest enemies of Southern Nigeria are Southerner’s. Nigeria got independent in 1960 and the North has ruled 38 years plus leaving South with below 18 years, yet the last Southerner that occupied that position was pulled down by his fellow Southerners, not because he is incompetent, but because of Southerners' phd mindset. After 55 as a country, we still complain of bad roads, poor electricity, life expectancy is short and some people heap the blame on GEJ. OBJ tore is card, Tinubu did all he could to trick others to follow him, Amaechi empty Rivers purse to fight against his brother and in-law, newspapers in South Nigeria keep on publish fake and lies all day to stop GEJ. Nobody remembered that during GEJ, Nigeria became the largest economy in Africa, in spite of heavy flooding 2 years ago, prices of rice and other food stuff remains stable If our economy is in infant stage after 55 years as a nation, it is logical to put the blame squarely on Northerners that has rule for more than 38 years instead of blaming someone that ruled for just 5 years plus. Almost 40 appointments made by Buhari so far and over 90% of them goes to the same zone that has held us down from achieving our real potential, yet half brains will say they were appointed on merit. Can a man who repeatedly failed exams in the past turn out to be more competent than the man that keeps on scoring high marks? I see our present position as the BIGGEST ECONOMY IN AFRICA slipping away soon, God forbid, but is a reality that may happen if the backward dance is not reverse fast. |

AMID a raging debate on the Petroleum Industry Bill, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Business and Rules, Senator Ita Enang, on Wednesday, said that 83 per cent of oil blocks in the country are owned by Northerners. “There should be equity and federal character in the allocation of oil blocks in this country. Eighty-three per cent of all present oil blocks are held by northerners,” Enang said on the floor of the Senate, without any of the senior lawmakers contradicting him. Enang, representing Akwa Ibom North-East (Uyo) Senatorial District, therefore demanded a review of oil block licences in the country even as other senators from the South urged him on. ADVERTISEMENT Enang’s disclosures came a day after the debate on the Petroleum Industry Bill had split the senators along North-South lines. The senators held a rowdy session as those from the north stoutly opposed the provision of 10 per cent Host Community Fund in the bill. The provision requires operating companies in the Niger Delta, home to Nigeria’s vast oil resource, to pay 10 per cent of their net profits to the fund for the development of the communities. Strengthening his submission, Senator Enang gave a summary of major oil blocks vis-a-vis their ownership. Enang said Cavendish Petroleum, the operators of OML 110, awarded to Alhaji Mai Deribe of Borno State (North East), makes an average of about N4bn monthly. He said, “Seplat/Platform Petroleum, operators of the ASUOKPU/UMUTU marginal field has Prince Sanusi Lamido (not CBN Governor) as a major shareholder and Director. “South Atlantic Petroleum Limited (SAPETRO), was established by Gen. Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma, who is also the Chairman of ENI Nigeria Limited. SAPETRO partnered with Total Upstream Nigeria Limited (TUPNI) and Brasoil Oil Services Company Nigeria Lomited to become operators of the OPL 246. “AMNI International Petroleum and Development Company is owned by Alhaji (Colonel) Sani Bello of Kotangora, Niger State. They are operators of OML 112 and OML 117. “A former Petroleum minister and former OPEC chairman, Rilwanu Lukman, another northerner, manages AMNI oil blocks and with very key interests in the NNPC/Vitol trading deal. “Oriental Energy Resources Limited, a company owned by Alhaji Indimi, runs three oil blocks: OML 15, the Okwok field and the Ebok field. “Alhaji Aminu Dantata’s Express Petroleum and Gas Limited operates OML 108. “OML 113 allocated to Yinka Folawiyo Petroleum Limited is owned by Alhaji. W.I. Folawiyo. “OPL 291 was awarded to Starcrest Energy Nigeria Limited, owned by Emeka Offor, which was sold by Starcrest to Addax Petroleum. Emeka Offor still has a stake in Addax operations in Nigeria. “Mike Adenuga’s Conoil is the oldest indigenous oil exploration industry in Nigeria with six oil blocks; “Alhaji Saleh Mohammed Gambo’s North East Petroleum Limited is the holder of the OPL 215 licence. NOREASTER Petroleum was awarded blocks OPL 276 and OPL 283 and closing thereupon a Joint Venture Agreement with Centrica Resources Nigeria Limited and CCC Oil and Gas. “INTEL is owned by (Abubakar) Atiku, Yar’Adua and Ado Bayero and has substantial stakes in Nigeria’s oil exploration industry, both in Nigeria and Sao Tome and Principe. “These need to be looked into, revoked and re-awarded. The Federal Character which is a principle applicable in every aspect of our national existence should also be brought to bear in the application of our oil blocks, marginal fields and prospecting licences.” Enang’s disclosures came amid a consensus among the lawmakers on the need to let the bill sail through second reading, while further legislative work would take care of the contentious issues. Enang, who spoke in support of the PIB, also argued for the retention of the 10 per cent host community fund, adding that it did not amount to an additional derivation. Speaking also in favour of the bill, Senator Chris Anyanwu (Imo East) said the bill would address the issue of criminality in the sector. She said, “The element I like most in the bill is the host community fund because it removes the motive for crime. It gives them a sense of belonging and ownership. Until the PIB is ready and people know that their investment is safe, they will not come to Nigeria.” Senator Ayogu Eze from Enugu North also urged his colleagues to support the bill so as allow for the fine-tuning of other controversial areas. Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (Oyo South) argued that Section 191 of the bill gave too much powers to the President, which must be curtailed. Norther senators whose earlier position was outright rejection of the bill have moved to give the bill a chance. Senator Danjuma Goje (Gombe Central) captured the new mood when he said, “I was one of the people completely opposed to the bill but from the trend of the debate it looked like the Senate is ready to do a thorough job without fear or favour. For this reason, I will join others in asking that this bill be considered while the contentious positions are addressed. “It is necessary that the powers of the minister be reduced so that whosoever is the minister is not a super minister.” In spite of this, Deputy Leader, Abdul Ningi (Bauchi Central); Senators Abdullahi Adamu (Nasarawa West); Ahmed Makarfi (Kaduna North); and Nurudeen Abatemi (Kogi Central) raised concerns on the provisions for host communities’ fund. They also expressed hope that the issue would be properly thrashed at the critical stages of the bill. The debate on the general principles of the bill would be concluded on Thursday (today).
