American rapper and hiphop star Soulja Boy has been charged with illegal possession of firearms which includes a military style automatic pistol that was stolen from a Huntington Beach Police Department vehicle officials says.




Soulja Boy, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, is facing one felony count each of possession of a “Mini Draco AR-IS” and being a felon in possession of a .45-caliber Glock 21, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office. He is also charged with one misdemeanor count of receiving stolen property, the police department’s stolen Glock, prosecutors said.

If the rapper is found guilty, he could get more than four years jail term. The rapper was arrested on Dec. 15 at his home.

This is not the first time the Entertainer is facing charges, In 2011, he was arrested on felony drug and weapons charges after a traffic stop in Georgia.

Three years later, he was arrested in Granada Hills.

He was a passenger in a car when police pulled the driver over for allegedly running a stop sign in 2014. During the traffic stop, police found a concealed weapon, the LAPD said.

The rapper was convicted of carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle and sentenced to two years probation, according to Frank Mateljan, a spokesman for the Los Angeles city attorney’s office. The probation sentence was scheduled to end in December.

He is best known for his song “Crank That,” which later inspired a popular dance.

He is currently starring in VH1’s reality drama “Love and Hip Hop Hollywood,” which follows the lives of several aspiring rappers, recording artists and their significant others.

Days after the exit of Gambia’s former president Yahya Jammeh, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is reporting that over $11million has been declared missing from The Gambia's treasury as the ex-leader goes into exile. Yahya Jammeh who was defeated by Adama Barrow in the December 1 presidential poll, finally left the country in the evening of Saturday, January 21, 2017 after 22 years of ruling the small West African country.




An adviser to President Adama Barrow, Mai Ahmad Fatty, who spoke to reporters in the Senegalese capital Dakar, said that The Gambia was in financial distress as a result of this.

"The coffers are virtually empty. It has been confirmed by technicians in the ministry of finance and the Central Bank of the Gambia," Fatty said.

“There is no money in the coffers. It’s what we have been told. But the day we actually take office, I will take a look at all the documents and evidence and we will clarify all of it,” President Barrow on the other hand reportedly said.

Fatty alleged that more than $11m has disappeared from The Gambia’s treasury in the past two weeks alone. The BBC however has not been able to independently verify the claims.

Gambia’s former president, Yahya Jammeh will now leave Banjul on Saturday with President Alpha Conde of Guinea, to begin a new life in exile.This followed Friday’s final peace move by Conde and Mauritania’s President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz. The two West African leaders travelled to Banjul to persuade the long ruling Jammeh to leave peacefully before West African forces pounced on him.
Jammeh gets last chance to cede power

In a statement issued on state TV Friday night, Jammeh announced that he was stepping down, a superfluous announcement as he was already no more the leader, having been denied recognition by the world.

All indications are that Jammeh will be going into exile in Guinea.

A senior adviser to new President Adama Barrow said talks to finalise the exile deal were holding up his exit.

“I can assure you that he has agreed to leave,” Mai Ahmad Fatty, Barrow’s special advisor, told Reuters in Senegal’s capital Dakar. He could not say where Jammeh would go into exile.

President of The Gambia, Adama Barrow had earlier confirmed Yahya Jammeh’s stepping down.

Barrow, on his twitter handle on Friday, @adama_barrow said: “I would like to inform you that Yahya Jammeh has agreed to step down.

“He is scheduled to depart Gambia today. #NewGambia.”

Barrow on Thursday took the oath of office as Gambia’s new president.

He was sworn-in about 5p.m. Senegalese time at the Gambian High Commission in Dakar, Senegal.

Barrow succeeded Yahya Jammeh, who lost in the Dec. 1 presidential election and refused to vacate office when his term expired midnight on Thursday.

Gambia’s Chief of Defence, Ousman Badjie, on Friday pledged loyalty to President Barrow.

“West African troops that crossed from neighbouring Senegal into Gambia to help unseat Jammeh would be welcomed “with a cup of tea,’’ said Badjie.

ECOWAS armies halted Operation Restore Democracy aimed at installing the country’s new president, Adama Barrow, on Thursday so regional leaders could make one last attempt to convince long-time ruler Yahya Jammeh to step aside.

In Dakar, the Nigerian force Commander, Operation Restore Democracy, Air Commodore Tajudeen Yusuf, said the ECOWAS forces will not let down their guard, inspite of negotiations for the former Gambian president, Alhaji Yahaya Jammeh to leave office.

He said the troops are awaiting briefing by the political leaders.

Yusuf made the statement while briefing newsmen in Dakar, on Friday.

“Even if he quits we are not letting down our guard, our mandate is to restore peace in Gambia.

“We have been on standby, and the troops are still on a very high alert, depending on the outcome of political negotiations.

“We are not letting down our guard; our mandate is to restore democracy in Gambia,’’ Yusuf said.

Yusuf added that the mandate given to them was to restore peace and nothing else.

He promised to carry out his responsibilities professionally while waiting for further directive from the political masters.

Jammeh, in power since a 1994 coup, initially conceded defeat to Barrow following a Dec. 1 election before back-tracking, saying the vote was flawed.

Members of the Indigenous People Of Biafran (IPOB) staged a rally in Port Harcourt to pledged their unalloyed support for incoming US president Donald Trump during his inauguration yesterday, shutting down all commercial activities and causing a traffic jam that affected many road users of the state capital.

ECOWAS troops halted their march into Gambia Thursday night to give former president Yahya Jammeh, one more last chance to leave Banjul.
Jammeh has up till noon to leave, in the new deadline given by ECOWAS, the West African regional bloc.



If he fails to do so, the troops under Operation Restore Democracy, will continue their march into the capital. There was no resistance by Gambian troops at the border when the West African soldiers entered Thursday.
”Troops in Farafenni refused to fight. They opened border for ECOWAS troops to enter freely. No loss of lives down that end’, a source monitoring the operation said.
Gambia’s new President Adama Barrow took the oath of office on Thursday at Gambia’s embassy in Dakar Senegal, calling for international support from West Africa’s ECOWAS bloc, the African Union and the United Nations.
“This is a day no Gambian will ever forget,” Barrow said after taking the oath, which was administered by the president of Gambia’s bar association.
“Our national flag will now fly high among the most democratic nations of the world.”
The support he canvassed for quickly came in with the United Nations Security Council supporting a resolution backing West Africa’s effort to restore democracy in the small African country.
Thereafter, the regional military force launched an intervention effort.
“We think that up until the last minute there is still a solution through dialogue,” said Marcel de Souza, head of the ECOWAS commission, explaining the decision to suspend the advance to reporters in Dakar late on Thursday.
ECOWAS will send a team led by Guinea’s president, Alpha Conde, and including the presidents of Liberia and Mauritania to Banjul on Friday, de Souza said.
If the mission succeeds, Jammeh will travel to Guinea before choosing a country of exile.
“It’s out of the question that he stays in place. … We propose that he leaves in an honourable manner and with respect,” said de Souza, who added that regional leaders were open to the possibility of an amnesty as part of a deal.
It was unclear what Jammeh’s next move would be. He has so far ignored pressure to step aside and offers of exile.
On Thursday, he still tried to exercise his emasculated power by announcing the dissolution of his cabinet and promised to reconstitute a new one.
In reality, he is now alone, with his government riddled by defections. In the biggest loss yet, Vice President Isatou Njie Saidy, who has held the role since 1997, quit on Wednesday.
Jammeh, in power since a 1994 coup, initially conceded defeat to Barrow following a Dec. 1 election before back-tracking, saying the vote was flawed.
De Souza said a total of 7,000 troops from Senegal, Nigeria, Ghana, Togo and Mali are involved in the operation. Troops had already entered Gambia from the southeast, southwest and north before they were ordered to stop.
The advance will resume at noon (1200 GMT) on Friday if Jammeh still refused to leave, he said. Barrow will return to Gambia once the operation is over.
The U.N. Security Council on Thursday backed ECOWAS’s efforts to ensure Barrow assumes power, and the United States said it supported the intervention.
U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in a statement pledged “his full support for his (Barrow’s) determination, and ECOWAS’s historic decision, with the unanimous backing of the Security Council, to restore the rule of law in The Gambia so as to honour and respect the will of the Gambian people.”
ECOWAS and the African Union previously said they would recognise Barrow from Thursday, and nations including the United Kingdom and France were quick to congratulate him.

Manchester United has reclaimed their place at the top of the Deloitte money league for the first time in over a decade the Deloitte study ranks the world's richest football teams by turnover during the 2015/16 season and this year's top three of United, Barcelona and Real is the same as the first edition in 1997.

Real, who had topped the list for 11 years, were beaten to second place by their LaLiga rivals by just 100,000 euros.

United, on the other hand, have surged ahead of the pack, becoming the first football team to earn more than £500million in a season - the club's total revenue of £515million is almost £50million more than Barcelona and Real generated.

Speaking to Press Association Sport, the report's author Tim Bridge said: "You can't really look past Manchester United returning to the top spot and it is because of their ability to make commercial deals that are way ahead of their peers."

Citing United's record-breaking kit and sponsorship deals with Adidas and Chevrolet, Bridge said Europe's other super-clubs are now using the Old Trafford club as a benchmark in their own negotiations with commercial partners.

United's 2015/16 earnings were also boosted by a return to the Champions League, which meant more broadcasting and match-day revenue.
But they were not the only Manchester club to enjoy off-field success as City climbed to fifth in the money table, thanks to their growing commercial strength and run to the Champions League semi-finals. They earned £393million.

One spot higher than City in fourth are the Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, who bring in double what closest domestic rival Borussia Dortmund (11th) earn, with French champions Paris St Germain falling two places to sixth.

The next three places are filled by Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool, non-movers but all setting new club records for revenue.

Spurs are the next best-placed English outfit in 12th, on £209million, with West Ham and Premier League champions Leicester new entrants in the table at 18th and 20th respectively.

The fact they sandwich the mighty Inter Milan in 19th is testament to the Premier League's financial muscle and Serie A's decline. The Milan club are one of 10 ever-presents in the top 20 since 1997 but are projected to fall out of the rich list for the first time next year.

A large reason for that will be the arrival of several more Premier League clubs buoyed by the first year of the new domestic TV deal in 2016/17 - a source of income that has caused alarm around Europe, particularly as it is immune to the vagaries of the foreign exchange market.

This year's report sees eight English clubs in the top 20, matching a record achieved nine times before, and 12 in the top 30, which is actually a sharp fall from last year's 17.

Bridge puts this down to strong commercial performances from clubs such as Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Lyon, and Spain's more equitable television deal helping the likes of Atletico Madrid. But he believes the Premier League's broadcasting millions will see as many as 16 English teams in the top 30 next year.

This, however, is not the dominance some have predicted for the Premier League and Bridge said the uncertainties of the post-Brexit vote era could also hinder English sides' earning power.

Deloitte based this report's figures on an average exchange of £1 = 1.33.7 euros but the current inter-bank rate is £1 = 1.15 euros.

"Despite the Premier League's new TV deal, I think next year's list will be a tight, three-way scrap between United, Real and Barca," said Bridge.

Leicester's strong run in the Champions League could see them climb into the top 15 next season, particularly if they can get past Sevilla in the round of 16.

The overwhelming message, though, from the report is that Europe's elite clubs are separating themselves from the field, a trend recognised by last week's financial update from UEFA.

In the foreword to that report, UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin said the governing body must take note of the " increasing concentration of sponsorship and commercial revenue among a handful of clubs".

This can also be seen in the Deloitte study, with Manchester United's turnover in 2015/16 being four times greater than Leicester's - the multiple from 20th to first in 1997 was closer to three.

And looking further ahead and afield, the only possible non-European candidates for the top 20 in 2030 are most likely to come from China, although their richest clubs now only earn a tenth of what Bayern presently make.

President Buhari has written a letter to the Senate requesting a 10-day leave between the 23 January to the 6 of February as he seeks medical help.

In a letter addressed to the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, President Buhari said he was writing in line with Section 145 (1) of the 1999 constitution as amended.

A Zimbawean pastor who predicted the death of President Robert Mugabe has been arrested, his lawyer says.
Patrick Mugadza announced last week that the 92-year-old head of state would die on 17 October this year.



His lawyer, Gift Mtisi, told the BBC that he was relaying a "message from God. Police would have to prove that God didn't say it".
Mr Mugabe mocks frequent rumours of his death, saying he has been resurrected more often than Jesus Christ.


Mr Mtisi said his client had initially been charged with undermining the authority of the president, then "criminal nuisance" and finally "insulting people of a certain race or religion".

Mr Mugadza was laughing about the charges and would plead not guilty.
"I'm still at pains to find the criminal part of it," Mr Mtisi told the BBC.
He added the pastor had no regrets about making the prophesy:
"He's admitting to the facts. He says he didn't lie - that's a message from God. Police will have to prove God didn't say it."

Chelsea football club has been given the green light by the Hammersmith and Fulham local council to go ahead with their plan of enlarging the seating capacity of stamford bridge from a meagre 41,600 seating capacity to a whooping 60,000 capacity.

Since the club summited their application for a new stadium at the Stamford bridge with an expanded seating capacity 12 months ago, consultations, and negotiations have been going on.

The Federal Government on Wednesday said it would no longer recognise Taiwan as a country but rather pledged support for One China.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, stated this while answering questions after a joint news conference with the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs in Abuja.
Onyeama said Nigeria had withdrawn all diplomatic relations with Taiwan as a country, adding that Taiwanese office in Abuja would be shut down and be relocated to Lagos.
According to him, Nigeria has communicated Taiwan and they are moving to Lagos as soon as possible.
“Taiwan will stop enjoying any privileges because it is not a country that is recognised under international law and under the position we have taken internationally we recognise the people of China.

“Taiwan will not have any diplomatic representation in Nigeria and also they will be moving to Lagos to the extent that they function as a trade mission with a skeletal staff.
“Chinese Government does not oppose trading with Taiwan as long as there is no formal contact with the Government that will suggest recognition of Taiwan as sovereign country,” he said.
According to him, China does not oppose relationship with Taiwan in the level of trade but not on government to government level.
The minister, however, said that Nigeria was not pressurised to take the decision, noting that the development was a bit of anormally on the side of Nigeria
He said Nigeria recognised the People’s Republic of China as country because Nigeria was one the leading African nations that fought for China to reclaim its seat at the UN Security Council from Taiwan.
He said the step being taken was to right the wrong that one could not specifically say how it came.
“It was not very clear how it got into Nigeria system – an arrangement for the Taiwan for a trade mission.
“And in grating the right of the trade mission it did not accurately reflect the nature of relationship between Nigeria and Taiwan,” he said.
Onyeama said the country took the decision to remove any iota of doubt in the mind of the Chinese people.
He said on the issue of building trust, the international community had embraced one China and China is a member of the United Nations and we don’t want to leave any doubt on the issue.
The minister stressed that Nigeria would adhere to it completely and there is no ambiguity at all.
He said Nigeria as a nation would do everything to realise the One China Policy as well as any effort that would promote the peace and well being of the People’s Republic of China.
According to Onyeama, China is one of the countries that have been in full support of reforms in the UN that would see Africa having two seats at the UN Security Council, as such deserved to be supported in her unification drive of One China

HONG KONG - Fast-food giant McDonald’s is selling a controlling stake in its China business to a group of investors led by state-owned Chinese conglomerate Citic in a deal worth up to $2.1 billion, the companies said Monday.

Citic Ltd. and its investment management unit Citic Capital will acquire 52 percent of the business while another partner, Washington-based private equity firm The Carlyle Group, will own 28 percent, the companies said in a statement.
McDonald’s will keep the remaining 20 percent of the business, comprised of more than 2,400 restaurants in mainland China and 240 outlets in Hong Kong. The China operations, which employ more than 120,000 people, is valued at up to $2.1 billion, it said.

McDonald’s will get cash and new shares under the terms of the agreement, which is for 20 years.
The deal, which still needs approval from regulators, is expected to be completed by mid-2017.
Oak Brook, Illinois-based McDonald’s and its partners plan to add 1,500 restaurants in China and Hong Kong over the next five years to capitalize on booming demand from the country’s growing middle class who have money to spend on eating out.
“As disposable incomes rise, people will continue to spend more on leisure and on dining out, and there is particularly great growth potential in tier three and four cities,” the announcement said, referring to less-known provincial cities with large populations. “As such, the market for Western Quick Service Restaurants is expected to continue to grow rapidly.”

Palestinian man believed to be an Islamist agitator, allegedly rammed his truck into a group of Israeli soldiers killing four and injuring 17 others.



The identity of the driver was made known by the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who delivered a statement at the site of the attack. He was quoted as saying that. "We know the identity of the attacker, from all perspectives he is a supporter of the Islamist state.


He (Benjamin) then added that " we know that there have been a sequence of terror attack, there could be a connection between them, from France to Berlin and now Jerusalem.

Several Palestinian have been arrested, but the perpetrator of the evil deed is yet to be known.
