The number of casualties from Thursday bank robbery in Offa town of Kwara State has increased to thirty, with nine policemen reported to be among the victims.

According to the reports the group of arm robbers also attacked a police station in the area.

Over 25 robbers invaded the town in seven vehicles and raided about five commercial banks and made away with several millions of naira reported daily post.

One of the doctors at the General Hospital Offa told Channels TV that 21 bodies were brought in to the facility and nine of them were police officers.


The doctor on duty at a private hospital also in the town confirmed the death of three victims while one was on admission.
Meanwhile, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed has promised to pay the medical bills of victims.

There is no gainsaying the fact that the country is hard. Between an economy just recovering from recession, and a general state of hardship, considering the poor state of infrastructure, and the anger and frustrations everyone seems to be carrying around in their belly, Nigerians are in a perpetual state of being stressed.

All of this certainly isn’t news to you.

But then, how do Nigerians ease off? How do they let go some of the built up tension, and relax themselves, freshen up and get roaring to go again and surmount every odds in their way. I asked around, and found out a bit myself with some observation and I came up with the 5 Ways Nigerians Relax Their Nerves.

1. Owambe. Turn Up
All the party wey dem dey do for Lagos City. I guess you know the lyrics to the rest of the song. Essentially, partying and turning up is the number one stress reliever. Even though the way and manner Nigerians party, you wonder if it isn’t a different level of stress on its own. But where there is good music, great food, friends and family, alcoholic drinks of all sorts, you can’t blame the average Nigerian of temporarily forgetting everything else that is wrong with the world and thoroughly enjoy themselves while at it.

2. Lodge in a Hotel
Lodging in a hotel is also another way Nigerians relive stress. Of course depending on their budget and income, the class of hotel will surely differ. But hotels bring a degree of comfort and relaxation you can not get anywhere else, even if there is light at home. The overworked mom might consider dropping the kids off at their grandparents and check in to a hotel in Lekki for the weekend where all she has to do is lounge in her bathrobe, drink wine, order room service and watch cable television without her husband asking for the remote because Chelsea and Arsenal are playing. When you take a break to lodge in an hotel, you get the opportunity to take advantage of amenities such as the swimming pool, spa and gym. Even business travelers have been known to stay an extra night when they travel for business, the extra night is for them to cool off proper after all the work.




3. Eat
You cant separate food from the Nigerian. After all what is the point of all the hustle if not to eat and to eat big. Whether they are preparing the meals themselves, ordering online, or eating in their favourite restaurant or buka, eating is a great stress reliever. The sight of Amala and Abula, or Fufu and Afang soup with plenty of obstacles, or a simmering plate of Jollof rice with firewood flavour is enough to dissipate not just hunger, but any stress the Nigerian might be facing at the time.

4. Spa/Yoga/Meditation/Exercise
Another way many Nigerians relieve stress is through Spa, Yoga, Meditation or Exercise. Lots of upwardly mobile young people are increasingly engaging in these activities to achieve the ever elusive work-life balance. And the results are great too.

5. Stay at Home
When all has been said and done, staying at home is still a great option for when Nigerians want to relieve stress. It might actually mean turning down all of the above. And it works. When you think of the noise, the traffic, the interaction with people you might not necessarily want to interact with, staying home and shutting your window blinds right after you turn off your phone is also a valuable way to stay fresh and relax your nerves.

A Nigerian man was stripped unclad and beaten by a group of fellow Nigerians after he was allegedly caught trying to steal their valuables at their home in Negeri Semblan area of Malaysia.

In the video posted by an Italy-based Nigerian , the thief thief was asked how he got entrance into the home and he replied saying that he initially came to beg for his house rent. When he got to the house, he saw that the door wasn't locked and that was when he decided to steal their valuables.

31-year-old Miss Olivia Uchechi, who was set to marry soon passed on in a deplorable mishap at Adoration Ministry in Uke, Idemili North Local Governemnt Area of Anambra on August fifteenth.

Ihionu reportedly got engaged last December and was getting ready for her wedding set for December 2017.

It was gathered the young lady drowned after she was carried away by flood. According to online reports, she fell into the gutter while easing herself and got swept off by the flood and her body was found in a neighboring village.

Her corpse would leave the Mater Amabilis morgue in Akokwa today, Monday, August 27, for her dad's compound in Umuyaku Umuopia in Akokwa, where she will be committed to mother earth after a memorial service at St Jude Catholic Church.

UBA REVOKE DECISION TO BAN THE USE OF THEIR ATM FOR SOME TRANSACTION SUCH AS BETTING AND MANY OTHERS

UBA bank has revoked their decision to ban the use of the of their ATM card for certain transactions suchs as betting jewellery, p*rnography, dating and escort services. The bank made this known in a statement published few hours ago.

The statement reads: Dear Esteemed Customer,

In our relentless bid to continuously provide excellent services to our customers, we work hard to protect your transactions and Identity.
We recently sent you correspondence indicating that your cards would be protected from certain risky sites.

We have listened to you and have heard that this is not in line with your expectations. We have immediately made adjustments accordingly.

Award winning rapper, Olamide Adedeje, also known as ‘Olamide Baddo’ has appreciated his fans worldwide for the one million views of his latest and controversial music video ‘WO’ on YouTube.

The music video was officially released over a week ago.

The Bariga, Somolu born rapper on Thursday took to his Instagram and Twitter handles @baddosneh and @OlamideYBNL to thank his fans.

The Federal Ministry of Health, however, twitted recently that the song was dangerous to public health, especially the youths and violates the Nigerian Tobacco Control Act 2015.

“My people sorry this is coming late but thanks for all the love and support, thanks for taking it to a mill in a week !!! Oya wo!! #WoChallenge.’’

The song was produced by Young John and video shot and directed by Unlimited L.A.

The `WO’ music video showcased Bariga to the world; it featured a couple of people dishing out tantalising dance moves.

But in a swift reaction then, the 28-year old rapper said he loved Nigerians and had no intention of promoting tobacco in the country.

On his twitter page @OlamideYBNL, the WO crooner said, “No intentions of promoting tobacco to get people killed.

“I love my people; I love my country, one love, one Nigeria #ClearTheAir Oya Wo! He wrote.

Olamide records mostly in Yoruba, his native tongue. In 2011, he released his debut studio album “Rapsodi’’ while signed to Coded Tunes.

He released his second album,’ Yahoo Boy No Laptop’ (YBNL) under his label imprint, YBNL Nation. The album had songs like “First of All’’, “Voice of the Street’’, “Stupid Love’’, and “Ilefo Illuminati’’.
