carmelion: Now these are the questions I want us to answer. For each question, I bet you, you know someone it has happened to or you have the story before. We hear these stories everyday you know.

To all the single ladies in the house, you know sometimes, we feel so depressed that we don’t have a man in our lives to call our own. I want to believe that most of us her are ready for marriage, but there is a possibility that most of us are not. Now read this.

1. Do you know that when married, your husband might loose his job, and stay for years without getting another job. Of course the bills has to paid. Where do you get money from? Do you know that things can get so bad you will relocate to the village, I mean no money to buy common lip gloss? ARE YOU READY?

2. Do you know that your husband can fall sick (I don’t mean malaria).serious sickness that can see you guys moving from hospital to hospital yet no cure. Of course you are the Mrs., every body would abandon him for you. Have ever visited the hospital perhaps to see a friend? Remember how hospitals smell? Drugs right? The kids needs attention too. How can I forget the bills to be paid? My cousin(mid 30s,with four kids) is in this situation now. Her husband was shot by armed robbers last year. Now his leg has been cut off, after three surgeries, that’s money you know. Stayed more than 5 months in the hospital. His former job requires his legs so much, so that means no more job? Hmmm. ARE YOU READY?

3. Do you know that years into your marriage, you might just discover that your husband ,that your sweetheart you have shared so much is a member of a deadly occult group. In fact he is one of the leaders. We see this always on African magic. You think they are just stories?. Honey they are not, they are real life stories. How do you handle such situation? The shock? The trauma ? To worsen it all , they are about to initiate your fist son and you are supposed to be a Christian right ?ARE YOU READY?

4. Do you know that years into your marriage , a strange woman might just show up at your door with her luggage and a protruding belly/a child, claiming that your darling hubby is responsible? I mean, just a silly mistake from your husband can turn life around. How do you handle it? ARE YOU READY

5. Do you know that your boyfriend, the same guy that pampers you like an egg now can change to a woman beater in the future.? How do you handle it.ARE YOU READY?

6. Do you know that some women have woken up in the morning, only to discover that that their husband ha traveled out of the country, leaving you with the kids? The only thing he dropped for you was short note that says

” Honey, as you are reading this, I would be on my way to Europe. I am going there to look for greener pasture. Nigeria is so hard I feel I won’t make it there. Please take care of the kids I would be back when things are better. Love you”. Hubby.

Did you guys notice anything there? No return date, no contact address, no phone number? How do you cope? ARE YOU READY.

7. Do you know, that your husband can fall a victim of conspiracy in his place of work ?.I mean some people just don’t want him to get to the top. Do you know that they can connive against him and before you know it, your husband is in jail?. Whether he is innocent or not, you don’t know, but the truth remains that you are supposed to be the one making every move to get him out? Can you handle it? ARE YOU READY?

I am asking these questions because some single ladies feel , marriage is a resting place. Please, USE THE RESET BUTTON. It is not .it is just another phase of life with its own problems.

Now I know that some ladies would say ”When I get to the bridge. I will cross it’.or "I will handle the way others are handling it". That is good. But don't forget that many women could not cope anymore they choose to abandon the marriage. Some struggled to cope, and the stress killed them. I believe the knowledge that such things might happen, gives you the privilege to brace up at least a LITTLE and prepare your mind for marriage. It comes with a lot. When married you are now responsible for another person.(Your husband).Expect anything.
BOUBOU DOLL THAT WAS A SCARY PICTURE U PAINTED BUT IF IT INVOLVES A SPARK THAT GIVES ME A RUSH OF BLOOD TO THE HEAD THEN BRING IT ON.

temi4fash: @DN
u d bomb ooo.. like d job u doin here bro.. mote grace to elbow..

@chichi i c dis ur list fear catch m ooo.no offence

I dont believe a spark must always occur or blood rush in ma head cos i saw some one. M belief dat stuffs will always takes it natural cause. d only gf i av ever had i didnt lik her at first but i got d green lyt so i went for her but i just decided i must make dis thing work n i found ma self likin her more dan she liked m self.. we still very gud friends. So m belief spark or no spark if both parties really work at it... den it can and will work.
One power a lot of us underestimate is d Power of Choice...
D spark only makes d decision easier but it dos not guarantee dat d person wuld b dat person we av always wished for..
mehn May God help us ooo...

Now let introduce d spiritual dimension.
I recommend dis book

Its a friday make una jollificate...
of course the spark makes the decision quicker and dude the person that u have the spark for and whose feelin is also mutual towards u is nature's way of pointin out uresoul mate. The phenomenon of the spark get us through the boundaries and criteria we human beings set for ourselves e.g tall dark and handsome or rich 'bourkinafaso' and pretty not evry guy or doll can have those exact sequence of qualities, they could be randomly attributed or not at all. But i believe evry doll and guy has the potential to be a flame to somebody regardless of religion, height, status, culture looks and what have u. All u have to do is to open ure mind and take a chance. If u dont then u would know what it feels to miss that rush of blood to the head, when u ask ureself in that mundane camel-chewin-cud slowlike borin relationship because u had the 'power of choice' to 'play safe' (as if it is possible these days) this question 'what if?. Hark ye! Seek the kingdom of the spark and evrything will be added unto ure relationship includin joy, laughter, intimacy, companionship and ofcourse a rush.....

youngalex: Chi-Chi u have to relax abit and be more realistic...If a guy on scale of 10 scores 6 guess he is above average
...for me i prefer a lady who is
..articulate and very understanding
...Plumpy,Sexy and Romantic
...Preferably a working class
...Jovial and homely
...Prayerful and Principled
...South-Easterner
...Christian preferably catholic
If i were to be more realistic i will take 3 points here and leave the rest
-Plumpy,Sexy and Romanitc
-Christian/Principled
-Jovial and Homely
These 3 qualites
Good one bro. Would love those qualities and also a touch of craziness in my woman some day. With that i can get me a rush of blood into my head.

This analogy of seed and plants dont do us justice here. Allow Spark and flame , u worry about not being wit someone special (spark) but detest been hitted on by those u dislike ( no spark) then u worry if u wil ever get to feel the heat (boom!)i.e be in a relationship wit dat special fame . Find someone u have a 'spark' for and whose feelin is mutual towards u, Maybe as a result of both of u having many things in common or havin the same life principles. Of course it would not be something mainly physical but mental social and physcological. If by Grace u hook up wit that special flame, both of u should nurture the spark and Boom! U have ureself something to die for and on top that 'a rush of blood to the head'

nbright: I don't believe in love at 1st sight.... Love should be a gradual process and and u shouldn't wait for any "spark" or "shock" or "blast" or whatever it is that u do read on mills & boons... Love is like a plant, if u nuture it, it will grow and produce fruits... That's my own take on it... @maya, just because I put "spark" it doesn't mean I'm mocking you..
I believe that love starts wit a spark, a flash and a boom! But the catch there is for it to be mutual. Yeah most relationship might not start like that but u wil agree with me if u are in a spark-flash-boom!-boom! Love affair then my good sir u r in one hell of a ride in a lifetime. I think that is what chichi is lookin 4 'the rush of blood to the head'

DailyNews: @Ichidodo, just like Maya said, u guys are on the same lane but on diff speed.

But I wouldn't advice anyone to be too fast in meeting someone he/she met online.

I am speaking from experience. I joined nairaland with a very positive good heart, and mainly to promote my literary works and to also help other youths discover and promote theirs, and in the process, I formed a national association to unite young Nigerians who aspire to become acclaimed and successful writers in novel and script writing.

In the process of coordinating this association, I met lots of nairalanders via phone conversations cos I was calling and emailing them, so many and we even arranged zonal meetings in Abuja, Enugu and Lagos. I went to Enugu own, only few people turned up at Lagos own, Abuja was boom.

To cut the whole story short, some of the members, the ones I took as my closest pals, guys, not even females, turned against me and even accused me indirectly of trying to loot the association's funds and that I wanted to use the association to promote my personal goals and businesses, a female member, the treasurer, saved my head and made things clear.

Plus other issues that I have encountered on this nairaland that made to understand that internet is not really filled with wonderful people who sound so wonderful in words. So I will advice anyone to be very cautious and dnt be in a haste to show your face or meet in real life. Pray about it, be smart and take your time, to be on the safe side. I thank God I am still alive to testify cos who knows what cud have happened, though I sometimes feel bad when I remember the amount of money, time and emotion I devoted in that cause that is yet to be a reality due to un-paralleled missions of members
Yeah, somehow u are correct but on a personal note i still beg to differ.

saxking: guys and gents, you can't meet anyone new if you don't expand your social circles...push past the people you see daily and expand to a new faces..this isn't saying be friends with all new faces..but just get exposed to new faces..out of every 10,2 will stick..you can't meet people really from behind a keyboard ooo
Wrong, u can get to meet some very real people behind the keyboard e.g Dailynews, maya and boubou doll. What? U think its easy movin around and knowin people these days. You go out and u meet this random individual, u say 'hey excuse me? Can i know u?. I dont think so.

DailyNews: Carm, you really need to understand who I am. I am a total snub when it comes to this. Do you know that I can just develop interest in a very ugly girl with no social or academic class just because she shows real concern over me? Yeah, thats me...and I can snub a very beautiful girl who sits next to me but shows no interest in me...yeah. I have lots of stories that if I narrate it here, most of you would marvel, but I won't so this thread doesn't get derailed. I know Nigerian women love that feeling of one dumb guy chasing them up and down, but thats stupidity to me because once a girl likes u, you don't need to stress it.

My mother told me that she had already said yes to one military captain back then who drives volksagen and land rover then, and according to her, she didn't liked the man because of the fact that he was a military man cos his beloved brother died during the civil war as a military guy, and she developed hatred for military, only for one to come to ask for her hand in marriage.and as it may interest u to know, the parents accepted the man for these reasons:

1. the man came from a very strong Anglican family, the father was a church teacher
2. he is from a neighboring community to my mom's own

my mom had no option than to accept, so they fixed date when the man would come with his people when his work leave starts, and before that period, my dad met my mom, how?

At an Anglican church anniversary, and my mother was a church choir, pretty wink wink...my father and his childhood friend came to that anniversary from a very far community, and guess whathuh they came with a bicycle cheesy cheesy

He saw my mother singing and his heart went fly....he told his friend, they waited and waited till the end of the church programme and even traced my mother to her parent's house and then they went inside and asked for water, and were given water and they finished drinking and left.

My mother saw him and she said she just liked him and wished he could just talk to her, but he didn't he left.

They came back again on another sunday....now, pay for your reader subscription fee cheesy cheesy grin

Now, why did I narrate the story? to tell guys that once a girl likes you, you won't labor to get her and to tell the ladies that its not about money, look beyond now and see the future smiley smiley smiley I know that we live in a fast generation- fast cars, fast money, fast relationship, fast everything, but hey! Slow down and see the future smiley
Ahn ahn na?! cry why now ?! More! more!! more!!! Guy finsh that story or else....... angry

And so many eligible ladies but who will bell the cat? There comes a time once in the life of a man when he sits himself down and says 'charlie, i am tired of this rigmarole lifestyle. I just need me a cool-headed woman to settle down wit' Every African man must come to this point sooner or later in life and its mostly the ladies around the vicinity are wooed. The race is not for the strong nor swift ure time is ure time ure own ure precious own nobody can take that away from u. So my dollies, be optimistic, be happy, be hardworkin, be forgivin, be humble, smile and give love a chance. Look at mi, my heart has been smashed to bits yet am stil willin to give a love a chance because am a live human being and that is what we do best. LOVE. An unlovin or unlovable or unwillin-to-love human being is dead one. Just smile and watch Mr Right drop on ure lap.Plop! Dailynews how u take c am?
