Nikiballer: Common ....Yoruba Muslim view about your "oduduwa" is different from the traditionalist and idol worshippers,Una great great father's no even gather head together to tell you lots Una history well ,I have evidences to prove this....
If your oduduwa is from Mecca and Saudi Arabia, how come Una no be core Muslims and have similar things in common to HAUSA who is believed to be brothers of bayajidda and come from the same Mecca than us BENIN....
If oduduwa is from Mecca, your CULTURE SHOULD BE SIMILAR TO HAUSAS AND THE ARABS THAN THE EDO PEOPLE |

Edeyoung: Ogiso means sky kings are you telling me you believe the myth sky kings came to rule on earth
If you dont you are left with one option with the title oba
That means ogiso was a myth and never existed
The title oba has been the title for benin monarchy, oba means king in benin |

Oranmiyan who founded the oba dynasty, gave the name Benin, and those who descended through him are known by these name, but the term Edo is not found in Yoruba vocabulary, the logic there is that the ones called Benin carries oranmiyan blood, and oranmiyan is a Yoruba man |

Yoruba people are united by common language, common anscenstor, common cult, common pantheon of gods, common history and common way of thinking, not necessarily by name |
Culture › Re: Yoruba Words That Mean The Same In Edo by Ideadoctor(m): 3:27pm On Dec 08, 2020 |
OsamaB: First of all, Yoruba is originally in reference to the Oyo empire and it was the name Hausa people called them (i.e. Oyoruba). Meaning an Ijebu man is Ijebu and Egba people are Egba.
Second of all, Edo was another empire and empires can comprise of different tribe of people who may not be the same. So, even the Benin empire of today can never lay claim of Ekiti or Ondo, even though they were part of the Benin empire. Even Bini and Esan people are different but know they have a history.
Third, the idea of calling people bastards to claim superiority is very weak. The British dismantled the empires and the Nigerian government cancelled history but that doesn't give you the right to insult people who you don't know. |

Am from kwara state, Moro local government to be precise and I can tell you a lot of Yorubas of Ilorin are dumb, that is why my town never respect them, mind you not all the Yoruba of Ilorin have these " I am a Fulani " mindset but most, but seriously fulanis had really conquered these people not only politically but psychologically, they proud to be called Fulani or Hausa even though they don't understand a single fulbe word, they see Fulani as superior to them, the Hausa see Ilorin people as banza( bastard Hausa) yet the Ilorin people are glad to be called banza just because they want to be Hausa, these mindset of the Ilorin people makes my blood boil,an ancient Yoruba land claiming Hausa, Ilorin due to their political influence what to drag the Moro people into their madness, but the Moro people are brave people well rooted in Yoruba culture and norms, they refuse to be dominated by an Emir, these made the Ilorin people to have special hatred for Moro people |
