You are not somebody that fall for evidence and proof, if you are you would have stopped all the unnecessary debate, I really respect Tao 112,she is excellent, she tried to open your eyes to the truth, but you hate the truth, because the truth is bitter, and the truth Is that Yoruba's are your father

Without ife, Benin history is not complete, that is why the ife Benin connection can never be erased, if you Edo want to erase it,we Yoruba will not allow it,every inch of Benin belongs to us,because we are your source, mouth and opening useless threads can not save Benin from our hold, anytime I look at Benin kingship I see Yoruba, anytime I see Benin bronze I see Yoruba, there gods are Yoruba, so after stealing our civilization, you want to things upside down, I repeat without ife;Benin has no history

CultureRe: The Title OBA Is Indigenous To Benins by Ideadoctor(m): 7:19am On Dec 08, 2020
If you believe that the indigenous word for king in Edo is oba then all Edo are Yoruba, because Yoruba started obaship,in fact Edeyoung you are not honest in treating these topic a lot of Edo historians mentioned the ogisos not as myth but as history, and they also mentioned that oranmiyan displaced the ogisos and started the oba dynasty, but here you are because you hate Yoruba's denying that fact even though it is obvious

CultureRe: Benin Remain The Center Of West Africa Civilization by Ideadoctor(m): 6:52am On Dec 08, 2020
Shut up,British never saved Yoruba land,Ibadan did,Ibadan had put the fulanis in their place before the British show up in the sixteen years war,Ibadan had load of guns and they use the force of their numbers to put the Fulani on their knees,Ibadan stepped out and fill the vacuum that the Fulani(Ilorin) had created, in fact if the British had not intervene, Ibadan expansion would have included your little Benin village, the size of the city to the is a testimony to their greatness, and that is why through out Nigeria fulanis fear and respect yorubas more than any ethnic group,do you know why? Yorubas are cunning are wise, they fight themselves but when they are faced with a common enemy they unite, these traits the Hausa lacked and they run down by the fulanis, the jihad stop at Yoruba land because the Yoruba were wise, they made the Fulani calvary(their main weapon) to be useless by fighting them in rough and bushy terrain and with their updated riffles they dropped the Fulani's from their horses one after the other like bushmeats

CultureRe: Was Oyo Really An Empire and did the benin once defeat the mighty oyo by Ideadoctor(m): 8:05pm On Dec 07, 2020
Lazy greyboy, from all of your post ,I perceived that you have a deep hatred for yorubas, but you know what? Yorubas are great, Oyo was mighty, Benin was a small village compared to Oyo, Yoruba's struck fear into the hearts of your anscenstor, they are wise, they are cunning they are ancient, the more you hate Yoruba the more they get stronger, choose your mates like those delta minor tribes, yorubas aren't your mate
CultureRe: The Title OBA Is Indigenous To Benins by Ideadoctor(m): 7:55pm On Dec 07, 2020
Stop being a liar, your kings are called ogisos, Yorubas introduced the oba system to you,and that is evident in your overall monarchial system
CultureRe: The Benin- Ife Myth Shouldn't Be Circulated Again Ever Again by Ideadoctor(m): 7:46pm On Dec 07, 2020
Adamant and funny Greyboy, you just don't want to accept that Yoruba's are greater than your tribe, even though Tao112 had proven it severally, kai! I don't like your type, you are not honest, not skeptical, just emotional like a small boy,let me tell a bad news, ife and Benin connection can never be erased, Benin is a Yoruba legacy for eternity, we will never forget how our father oranmiyan was charitable and donate his royal sperm to break the curse of insanity which flowed in the ogisos vein,he began a dynasty which is characterized by success and victories, unlike the ogisos reign which is corrupt and depressed, but here you are insulting our great race, do you want your curse to return? Better mind how you talk to Yorubas, they are not your father's mate,be guided

My dear friends. Today I am going against Somali traditions by intermixing with you lots in the form of a conversation. I refuse to believe that you all have a chip on your shoulder when it comes to Somalis. I also refuse to believe that you guys are all fraudsters and scammers. Some of you have come to the conclusion that Somalis/Ethiopians are racist. I would like to know why. I was especially disturbed that on your threads of 'whose the most beutiful people in africa' you exclude horn and north africans. I HOPE YOU CAN ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS WITHOUT YOU TELLING ME HOW HOT OUR WOMEN ARE.

Benin kings can never be compared with Yoruba kings, Yoruba are the source of Benin royalty, which makes Yoruba kingship to be automatically superior, I hate it when arrogant Edo folks try to turns things upside down, without Yoruba civilization where would they be today?, Their royalty, arts and crafts and pantheon is from the great Yoruba civilization

Below is how the Alaafin of Oyo described the Oba of Benin in time past.

The Alaafin in 1911 seems to have provided his own idea of the power the kings of Benin had once held, from an African (Oyo Yoruba) perspective.

Anyway, the statement from Clapperton:

1. "In the evening we had a visit from the king (Alaafin of Oyo), to thank me for the presents I had given him, and again to assure me of being welcolme; said that he wanted nothing, unless it was something that would speedily cause the submission of the rebels. He said that he had sent to his friend the king of Benin for troops to assist him in the war."

- Hugh Clapperton, Journal of a Second Expedition Into the Interior of Africa, from the Bight of Benin to Soccatoo

2. "The kingdom of Benin was so powerful that the Alafin of Oyo, the head of the Yoruba people, told a British governor that even his predecessors had to pay tribute to its king." - Asibong Akpan Okon, The evolution of self-government of Nigeria (1955), p. 36

Asibong Okon was referring to this:

"This Kingdom of Benin was at one time so powerful that the Alafin of Oyo, the head of the Yoruba people, told me that even his predecessors had to pay tribute to its King." - United Empire, Volume 2 (1911), p. 620

CultureRe: Direct Meaning Of These Yoruba Names by Ideadoctor(m): 8:46pm On Dec 04, 2020
Alba3:
It's difficult for present people to know direct meanings of many of the above names.

I will only explain 'Alaba'. It has Semitic or Latin Origin, where it's known as 'Alba'.
Alba is a "unisex" given name of Latin
origin meaning "white" or pearl. In Spanish and
Italian the name means sunrise or
"dawn". Aina is an indigenous Yoruba name with no Semitic origin or influence

Ala in Yoruba means white, bright, purity or dawn. Alaba Ọlọbẹ Idẹ (one with bright brass knife); exactly the way the dawn opens brightly from the east every morning.

In Semitic or Arabic, the name Ala means Excellence, Praise, Elevation, Saint, etc. Ala prefix is used in most praise names of the Yorubas.

Direct meanings of the fourth child of the twins, Alaba is actually beautiful and the direct meaning is in Semitic or Latin. It's Yoruba's version of Alba. It also means pearl - a gem, fringe or border (the last of the special children)
