Dream FM, Enugu is NOT a cosmo comeback. It is a new radio station, independently owned and run. However, as with any new establishment requiring experienced staff, Dream FM employed a good number of those who made Cosmo FM a success.

Enjoy all of the best programming in south eastern nigeria, 24/7.

Yeah, I did too. Enugu right? What I need to know is whether the format is still the same.

Achebe will be used for sth more federal

Yeah I get you, but does it really matter, bro? Or you mean a new tertiary institution? I believe CAU will sell much faster both locally and internationally. Charity should begin at home or what do you think?

I'd have preferred Chinua Achebe University. That sounds better refined and more academic in my opinion.

I trust you, man. You don't disappoint at all.. grin Come on, I need your views here.
Nairaland / General / What's In a 'Year Of Birth'? by IdeasDrive(m): 10:14pm On Dec 29, 2013
Sincerely, I do not know how it started, but it's a trend one cannot but observe. I'm not sure either if it's a Nigerian thing, but it's prominent nonetheless. Personally, I seem to have been affected by this 'bug' unlike before when I didn't care...
Guys, what's about everyone else knowing our year of birth? Is it just a norm or something?
I need your perspectives on this please...let's discuss this matter intelligently.
MOD, I trust you. wink
Thanks...
Religion / Re: Testimonies On Why We Stopped Tithing Here by IdeasDrive(m): 6:51pm On Oct 06, 2013
@ all those teaching against tithe and tithing, please be sure of what you are doing. You are leading people to break God's word. See Matt. 5:19.
Tithing as a principle, was not instituted by the Law, so cannot be invalidated by same. You could as well see Matt. 23:23.
For me, I'm a tither, and I'd keep paying my tithe to God's work. Sorry, you can't fool everyone along with you. Just repent.
Religion / Re: Can A Saved Person Lose His Salvation? by IdeasDrive(m): 6:32pm On Oct 06, 2013
ayoku777: And Demas didn't leave the faith in 2Tim 4v10. He left Paul and went back to his secular job, obviously coz of the hardship of ministry.

But obviously he returned, coz later in Philemon 1v24, he was numbered among Pauls labourers 'Marcus, Aristarchus, DEMAS, Lucas, my fellow labourers.'

Actually bro, the second book of Timothy was Paul's last correspondence before he was killed by Nero. So, if Demas came into the picture in this light, it would be correct to follow the Bible's stand.
@ OP, indeed it is very possible for one to lose his salvation. There is no such thing as ETERNAL SECURITY. Hence, Scripture warns us to REMEMBER LOT'S WIFE. Judas Iscariot was also a disciple, but he fell away. We all really need to TAKE HEED. May God help us.

But you never analysed the issue objectively.Instead you allow the sentiment you spoke of to take over your reasoning.Go and re-read the Thread.Am not sure you read it properly perhaps its the headline you just read. The man said the Pastor paid him a visit note A visit in Public and he did'nt go at night. He went on to say that he did'nt come back to get understanding and without Understanding no man can make it.Let me ask you one question is the Pastor in Question WF Kumuyi a failure or a Success? Its a question i will leave you to ponder on.When it comes to issues relating to religious Leaders in Nigeria people are always waiting for that opportunity to unleash their frustration and failure in life on them as if they put them the condition they are in.Remember man is the architect of his own misfortune.

You nailed it, bro. I'm glad he shot himself in the foot, by saying Pa Kumuyi visited him IN THE PUBLIC...and PEOPLE SAW HIM!!!
What are we talking about? We all know Pastor Kumuyi is a Preacher, and he goes wherever he is sent, to preach to anybody.
This man is just not serious at all...
Tell him he publicly failed! His 'knowledge' failed him...
Pastor Kumuyi is just too busy climbing higher now..
And lest I forget, there would be a Special Program at the Deeper Life Church, this Saturday and Sunday 19th and 20th January, 2013 (dclm.org)
Tell the 'Guru' man he is surely invited. Jesus still loves him. I only pray he has not yet committed the 'unpardonable' sin in claiming God. At that point, his redemption becomes a hopeless case. May the Lord help us all...
Blessings.

Health / Re: UNIBEN Professor Recants HIV/AIDS Cure Discovery by IdeasDrive(m): 10:39am On Jan 11, 2013
Smooyis: Two wrongs do not make a right. Our attitude of antagonism, accusations and counter accussations will never lead us anywhere. Granted that the professor has made some mistakes. This does not mean we have to throw the baby out with the bath water. The University while querying d proffessor for proffessional misconduct should have encouraged him to present his claim for verification instead of completely disassociating themselves from him. Geinuses do not often times behave normal. Who knows he might have made a medical breakthrough that could take the name of d university and the country higher and help millions of people living with the virus. We should stop underestimating d capability of our own people. The proffessor might have been too excited at the success of his discovery and couldn't wait longer to burst it out. We all have our weaknesses. God bless Nigeria!

And God bless you for this!!!

Culture / Re: Is It Appropriate To Look At Elders In The Eyes When Having A Discussion? by IdeasDrive(m): 9:22am On Jan 11, 2013
ifyalways: Depends on who the elder is to you and the topic of discourse.

Eye to eye contact won't be disrespectful if its an old relative asking of your family's welfare, same for an elder asking for directions or help.

When an elder is giving counsel, settling dispute, praying or blessing a younger person, its best not to maintain eye to eye contact as it might appear rude.

My personal opinion oh.

I think ma'am, that you added a very important clause to this.."depending on who the elder is to you"... That, in my idea, is very key!!!
And your opinion is very much appreciated, ma'am...

Culture / Re: Is It Appropriate To Look At Elders In The Eyes When Having A Discussion? by IdeasDrive(m): 9:20am On Jan 11, 2013
valen la bella: Depends on the culture really. Growing up in the UK, I was taught by my teachers that not looking someone in the eye, especially adults was disrespectful whereas in certain nigerian cultures, looking elders in the eye can be seen as being rude.

So, how do you cope when you travel round the world? Because, these issues would definitely arise, every now and then...
Nairaland / General / Re: Isn't Enugu's Dream FM, A Cosmo FM Comeback? by IdeasDrive(m): 5:10pm On Jan 08, 2013

Cosmo really held down the South- East in those past years...
Well, Dream is fitting in a bit..
What do you think, bro?
Culture / Is It Appropriate To Look At Elders In The Eyes When Having A Discussion? by IdeasDrive(m): 12:13pm On Jan 05, 2013
Considering the multi- cultural make-up of societies and countries, I wish to ask this:
Is it considered an appropriate thing to do, when you look squarely into their eyes, when having a conversation with them. Or is it seen as being cocky or rude?
Please, I need views from different ethnic and cultural extractions, because I look into people's eyes, regardless of who they are..
Thanks.

Education / Loss Of Reading Steam: Does This Happen To You? by IdeasDrive(m): 5:24pm On Dec 17, 2012
You just saw a book, admired the cover page and eventually took it...
Now you've started reading..
But midway, you lose steam..
Soon, it ends up on the reading table among other books, which never get to the last page.
Does this happen to you? Has it ever happened to you? What suggestions do you have for someone having this problem?
I need ideas, good people.
Thanks.

Your ideas, please..
Business / Re: Users Of ATM Will No Longer Pay N100 On Withdrawals - CBN by IdeasDrive(m): 8:19pm On Nov 13, 2012
jodam: Some ATM machines are gonna stop working very soon.
That N100 charge is the main reason some of these ATM machines have been working.
Naija banking sector? There must be conditions attached

Exactly bro.
My thoughts too. Why bother about 'maintaining' the ATM, since we now have a plethora of 'alternatives'.. As if to say, "you can go anywhere..I don't mind".
*Thinking from the bank's perspective*.
Its a good one though. I appreciate the motive.
Blessings.
Family / Re: Advise Him: He Got This Mail From His Wife by IdeasDrive(m): 10:22pm On Oct 07, 2012
@ OP,
I agree with the above, that your wife's letter speaks a lot. You could try reading it with resolutions on what to do. It means, there are certain things you may need to change. For me, I believe your wife STILL LOVES YOU. She only wants you to CHANGE.
I'd recommend a movie for you. 'Fireproof' is the name. It speaks a lot about marital issues like these, and how one can handle them.
It is my sincere prayer that God will heal your home.
Blessings.
Nairaland / General / Isn't Enugu's Dream FM, A Cosmo FM Comeback? by IdeasDrive(m): 11:02pm On Sep 25, 2012
For those resident in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria and her environs, you'd be probably aware of the new station situated in Enugu- i.e. 92.5 Dream FM.
Now, considering the names of most of their crew such as Cleopatra, Gloria, Frankie, etc, and even style of presentation, I'm seriously suspecting this is Cosmo FM RELAUNCHED!
Any better ideas from those who still remember the 'Unbranded' Cosmo FM of yesteryears?
I'm just thinking...
