WHAT DRIVES APC? Desparation to win Presidential elections, bitterness, anger, propaganda.
Its no longer news that APC thrives on propaganda, exaggerating lies. They and their sympathizers now own majority of the means of communication either Newspaper, radio and television stations. They host TV programs and publicize news with a deliberate attempt to paint the government black, through character assassination, exaggerated stories, half -baked news, some with illegal and unreliable source eg, until CNN reporters came to Nigeria, most of the news on chibok girls were false. Today, liar Mohammed is no longer asking about the perceived illegal arms deal since SA came out openly to apologize, making allegations and quoting NAIRALAND as his source, that's a big disappointment. |

WHAT HAVE APC OFFERED NIGERIANS SO FAR?? In my opinion, APC has offered the following 1. inciting the populace against the government, making violent utterances, we know the implications of this, violence in which they and their kids will not be involved, yet others will be killed
2. Criticism without solutions: APC only criticize even without giving solutions, and will never applaud when the government is getting it right.
3. Worsened Nigeria's image in international community. keep seeing only the wrongs and quickly spreads the news. Speaks against the office of the president: ln developed nations, you can criticize government policies but you don't speak against an office it's not allowed. 20 members of congress in SA are facing trials for causing commotion during sessions but In Nigeria, members of APC work out of the speaker during sessions disgracing Nigeria, is that being patriotic?
4. They provide "BRING DOWN SYNDROME" services: eg, using Bola Ige's death to campaign, but They have swept away the story of how Funsho was assassinated in Lagos.
5. Accusations of corruption.: let's be sincere, is there any APC member that is corrupt free, including the most adorned FASHOLA.
So much to say, I'll drop my pen now. Questions to ask yourself? 1. Why did Tinubu visit OBJ? Maybe he's a progressive now 2. How come Ribadu could not win in LAGOS state during, 2011 elections? maybe his votes was traded for someone's interest 3. If the government is not going anything? how come GDP is increasing, power supply is getting better, FG is commissioning new roads and railways, many others under construction, building new seaport in Lekki, revenue from Agriculture is increasing, how many plane crashes have been recorded in the last four years, when last did bombs explode in areas outside BH Base and North East etc. 4. GEJ is taking all the blame for BH, was He on the scene when BH was formed in 2002?? 5. Do. We have APC members in the national assembly? if yes, why are they not opposing the salary scale and allowances, assembly members are earning? 6. Where is PASTOR TUNDE BAKARE? The same person that condemned GEJ, staged occupy Nigeria campaign which led to loss of lives has withdrawn from active politics. Why? maybe he found out that he was being used to draw votes from christians. ALL APC sympathizers thread on NL, are composed bitterness, anger, character assassinations ,propaganda ; a typical Representative of what APC stands for |

He has been saying it since.
Violence will not solve this problem, this people are motivated by ideologies, sponsored by rich men. Which nation have successfully fought terrorism.
Nigeria's case is worst, you are fighting insiders, strong sponsors that can feed some African Countries.
The solution is simple, call the northern elites, northern Religious leaders and northern Traditional rulers together, let them talk to their boys. They know them since inception, BH will be history, the sect may remain just like other sects in kano, kaduna and Zaria but Wont be bombing for years to come.
APC knows this, they are just waiting to win elections, so that they can claim they solved the problem of insurgency. And they use Buhari as candidate because he can influence all sections of the North. |

Nigeria have come along way in its political struggles for independence and democracy. After independence was eventually achieved in 1960, the fight to sustain democracy continued. Being thwarted by the military, by various forms of coups and election cancellation in 1993; the death of Gen. Sanni Abacha in 1998 eventually paved way for the present democratic settings. Democracy as simply defined as a form of government in which the supreme power is in the people, have been the most successful form of governance in recent centuries. Yes, it is true that Nigeria as a Nation have not gotten there at the moment, but We are hopeful that with time and awareness this will become a reality. Generally speaking, in a democratic setting, the ruling government needs an opposition to keep them on their toes and check their excesses. In Nigeria today, though we have an opposition, some in form of party opposition, we find out that, our system of opposing is rather for selfish interest than National interest. A typical example is the APC form of opposition.
My opinion is this, that APC is not the kind of opposition we need. Reasons 1. HOW WERE THEY FORMED
Let's not be deceived, APC was formed with the main aim of ousting PDP led government especially the FG, it is not the people they have at heart. They are not different from every other political party fighting for survival and to remain relevant in polity and join in sharing National cake. They do not need to merge to deliver dividends of democracy. We understand various parties merged, some of which were not recognized during the merger hence their members have not been given any position in their NWC, hence some have pulled out. WHO ARE THEIR MEMBERS : Up to 70% of their members were previously PDP members some for up to 8years or more. If PDP was an evil party as they are painting her today, why did they remain in PDP for those numbers years? let's list some of their members;
(A)Atiku- One of PDP founders, left for ANPP, returned to PDP after reconciling with OBJ, deflected again to APC because he is not really given some form of relevance in PDP polity.
(B)Rochas Okorocha; PDP member for OVER 8years even vied for office of president under PDP, contested for Governorship under APGA and won an Incumbent governor, its was not APGA that made him win, people voted for his personality. Later deflected to APC because APC appears stronger and will provide him succor in time of need. Forgetting that the power lies in the people, that the same people that staked their lives for him during elections without inciting them can stand up for him in times of trouble.
(C)Timi Sylvia: PDP member for 12years, governed for 4years with nothing to show, PDP NWC felt they would lose election if he runs for second term, decided to support another. Today, he is in APC, crying that he was victimized; the same person who didn't achieve anything as a Governor is today celebrated in APC and has even paid for Buhari's ticket.
(D)Oyinola: PDP for about 15Years, governed Osun state, insulted Tinubu in public, today is being celebrated by APC.
I can go on and on…. In fact, if you follow the trend, you will notice some are returning to PDP eg RIBADU, FALANA etc. Telling you that if PDP was that bad they won't return and if APC was better they would have remained there.
Don't forget the governor that deflected, initially formed a newPDP but Because such name would not be recognized and that they need a stronger platform to give them back up they decided to join APC, not because APC was better
Tambuwal just deflected to APC with the main aim of contesting for Governorship position in Sokoto, not because APC is a better party but Because APC is controlling the polity in the state. Ask yourself someone that has been a REP for 16Years going for governorship position for another 8years is it the people he has at heart or selfish interest, Better still is he the only good man from SOKOTO ? WHAT IS THEIR IDEOLOGY ? If this question is asked, maybe the first first reply you will get is 'change' lets not be deceived ( 5-9 = -4) is also change but In a negative direction. Some will refer you to Lagos state then I will SMH, is Lagos state the only state ruled by APC ?
The last time I checked there are many PDP states with meaningful developments going on, Akwa Ibom and Delta states comes to mind. They have recently added Rivers state as theirs, but Let's not forget all seemingly nice things seen in Rivers state were done before Amaechi joined APC, they should point us to what Amaechi has achieved since he joined them. Fayemi left office owning 2months salary and debts, Rauf borrowed money and raised funds to pay salaries before elections. Kwara state is worst
As an individual, an ideology should be uniform, one should visit all the APC STATE'S and see same thing even though at different rates.
For me APC has no ideology. just imagine Tinubu seeking advice from OBJ, maybe they are now sharing same ideology WHAT DRIVES THEM? Desparation to win Presidential elections, bitterness, anger, propaganda.
Its no longer news that APC thrives on propaganda, exaggerating lies. They and their sympathizers now own majority of the means of communication either Newspaper, radio and television stations. "we have never been this seperated by religion and tribe ever in this country"
This is a lie. On the contrary, we have always been. I will show you:
In 2001, Muhammadu Buhari used Sharia to rise to political fame. He advised Muslims to vote for those who will promote their religion: [http://allafrica.com/stories/200201210250.html]. He later called for Sharia in all states in Nigeria [http://allafrica.com/stories/200108270355.html]. These were divisive comments.
Islamic riots in Nigeria date back to 1953 in Kano. In the 1970s and 80s we had the Maitatsine riots. In 1991 we had the Reinhard Bonke riots in Kano caused by Islamic intolerance. In 1995 Gideon Akaluka was Killed in Kano by Muslim fundamentalists. In 1999 Yerima led other Muslim governors to declare Sharia in nine Northern States, telling Christians that they were now in Muslim territories and must behave. Remember the Miss World Riots of 2002? What about the Danish (Mohammed) cartoon riots in 2005? We have seen the mayhem caused by Boko Haram since 2009. Each religious riot tells you that you are from a particular religion.
On tribe, don't be naive. Many years ago, Awolowo described Nigeria as a 'mere geographical expression'. That is to say, these are different people with separate identity cobbled together. Haven't you seen the Youtube hate speeches of Ahmadu Bello in the 1960s as well as his writings on conquering Nigeria like his grandfather, Dan Fodio? What of Akintola's hate speeches in the 60s? Wasn't the civil war along tribal line?
Look, we can only manage the issues of tribe and religion and still be getting along. But to say that we have never been separated along those lines is fallacy. Bros you forgot the most recent, aftermath of 2011 elections, Buhari's comments incited the killing of hundreds of Nigerians, mostly Christians and Youth corpers.
