Inferior mind!

HolyCaligula:
Except in a movie, it's been so long i saw Americans using military camouflage to perform on stage or even in their music videos.

One thing i know is that even if it's not against the law but the military should be given some form of respect.

Based on the order of the Peaky blinders.

Okay, so who determines national security?

And pls don't say everywhere in the World. No where in Europe does national security sit over the rule of law.

And apart from illegal Guatanamo bay, tell of me terrorists caught by America that is tried through the media and by state agencies without legal interpretation.

Are security apparatuses not constituents of the law? You people want democracy but asking for stupid gangster laws that will trample upon people's individual right.

So national security supersedes the rule of law, is that your point?

Thanks but you flatter.

For treason there is no bail.

Regardless, the DSS has shown time and time again, that matters of national security would not be treated with kidsglove.

Sowore should know better.

You are the old and enlightened one, can you tell us what the rule of law means and why it is difficult to strictly adhere to it.

Thanks

voltron14:
The truth is that too many kids litter Nairaland.

I said this a while back that no government would stand arms akimbo and wait for a dissident to bring down its authority.

Sowore acted like a bad loser especially as only a few months before, he had contested for the position of president at the polls.

As proven by his television interviews, his aim was to force a change of government totally.
His means was through civil unrest perhaps with the hope that a military coup might take place as a way to foster peace which would have been shattered by his act of civil unrest.

Gauging the mood of the people, he would have known Nigerians were already suffering from lethargy from Boko haram issues, as they were being contained, it moved to Biafra issues, as that was being managed, it moved to another round of elections - drama.

Nigerians were tired of drama.

To make things worse, he was seen in the company of an individual who also had embarked on a campaign to bring down the government just days prior to embarking his own 'revolution'.

Much as Sowore is a likeable character, he got onboard a one way bus to detention.

Yeye man justifying impunity, lawlessness and wickedness. I have nothing to say to you than to warn you that we will do everything possible as concerned citizens to take our country back from people like you and your paid bosses who have hijacked it from the rule of law that people voted for. If you want impunity, you might as well plan your own coup and start arresting journalists anyhow without court trial.

Just Obey the rule of law or go and find another country

DSS don't seem to be sophisticated in their approach and strategy and I don't expect that their paid agents will be any better

I have seen them make mistakes that common criminals would not make.

Yes, I am jumping on all threads because I am here to ensure that evil paid agents do not take over the public space. The public space should be a civil sphere for the voice of reason.

We are not saying that Sowore committed treason or not; by the way there are many people who do not like his approach but whatever it is, he should be charged to court and the court should decide whether he is guilty or not, simple!

ColonelEmeka:

You have been jumping around trying to force everyone not to bother yet you are so bothered which is why you are glued to this thread grin

Since your low IQ believes i am a paid DSS agent because of my moniker which by the way was just a prank.

Common sense should have let you know that a DSS agent would use a moniker that does not attract attention shouldn't it?

To think that they have not even charged Sowore to court yet is beyond reason

DMerciful:
So you saw only retribution? Yeye dey smell.
If the SSS believes it has a case, why not go to a higher court? Mind you it took a long time after granting Sowore bail before he was released. They could have gone for appeal during that time. You see BH? Retribution for 1966 pogrom.

Law, you and your ilks cannot interpret, even your bosses cannot adhere to

How is following the rule of law difficult?

ColonelEmeka:

I try not to mind them when they start getting all emotional and releasing false data.

The entire persons who have ever been charged for Treason in Nigeria from Awolowo to Jakande never enjoyed bail from any court. Some were executed while others got jailed and later pardoned but the fact remains they never got bail and got convicted while in detention.

Okay it's false

But can I ask you why Buhari is behaving like a dictator?

Do you know that rule of law is the hallmark of democracy?

Assuming Sowore is guilty as charged, it is you or DSS who determines or the court?

You people are callously defending impunity

Truth will always triumph

wirinet:

False.
Femi Falana and Galileo Fawehinmi were never charged for treason. Very few Nigerians have ever been charged with treason. Most of the time IBB locked up many people for years without any charge. In fact in the history of Nigeria, only 6 people had ever been charged with treason - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:People_convicted_of_treason_against_Nigeria

Gani fawehinmi was locked up in very harsh conditions maiduguri under very harsh weather conditions which led to health complications that eventually killed him.

You people argue anyhow with conjectures and assumptions with no facts whatsoever.

Stop making irrelevant argument, charge him to court and follow the rule of law.

ColonelEmeka:

You are so missing the point of this case.

The procedure is they would get you arrested and then investigate you and if found that you have done such before or you truly had the intent you would be charged to court with that evidence and if found guilty you would be penalized.

However i Sowores case he provided the evidence all by himself through the interviews he granted of which i have posted 3 videos in the OP thus far.

All the evidence required to present him before the courts were easily made available so in this case he not only gets arrested but charged to court as well.

Do you even know what plotting a coup is? You do not need arms or troops before you can plot a coup.

A PLOT is simply a plan made in secret by a group of people to do something illegal or harmful.

You plot a coup FIRST before you carry it out so in law it is classified under INTENT and not an ACT.

Sowore plotted with INTENT. Understood now?

Don't mind the bunch of law breakers.

If you go in front of a police station and say that you want to rape someone, even if you have all the tools of rape, no one can charge of of rape because you are yet to commit the rape.

But even if you commit rape, it is not the police that determines or send you to jail, that is why there is a court of law.

Any police that takes the law into his hands go to jail.

gidgiddy:

If I go in front of a Police station and say I want to rape someone, I may be arrested, but I cant be charged to court, there is no crime anywhere in the world called "talking about raping someone"

When a person is plotting a coup, there must be plan on the ground, arms must be involved, movement of troops. It is not possible to plotting a coup without access to arms and troops. So if a person is caught doing that, he is in for it because arms and troops are involved as well as plan

In the case of Sowore, the judge is going to want to know how Sowore intended to topple government, what were his plans and how Sowore intended to take down a government that has hundreds of thousands of Armed personnel such as Army, Police and Navy

If the government then says that all it has are things said on video, the case will be thrown out of court as lacking in merit and baseless

Just tell your bosses to obey the law, simple!

An offence that is Treason related is not bailable. The courts showed Judicial rascality by approving bail for him. Our constitution does not recognize that under such conditions. No constitution in any country in the world approves bail for anyone charged for Treason.

Go and sit down jor, tell your bosses to obey the law simple.

wirinet:

Is this the best you can come up with? Where did Buhari say he is planing a violent change of government? He was talking about the up coming elections. He was reiterating his willingness to participate in the elections and saying he and his supporters will not accept the outcome of a rigged election. If he lost the elections and then called out his supporters to violence, then you will have a point.
You know the fanatical north is violent prone. Buhari just rejecting the results of the elections is enough to spur them to violence as witnessed in the 2011 elections. He doesn't even have to specifically call them to violence.

Now contrast that to sowore who called for a violent change of government and was actually going around organising the change after loosing the elections.

Below is Buhari's statement
Politics / Re: The Videos That Got Sowore In Trouble. He Calls For Violent Revolution by idid: 3:32pm On Dec 16, 2019
Btw, is it too much for the government to obey the law?

Okay I agree that Sowore committed treason, but it is the law that will judge not you or DSS.

Do you get? DSS that can't obey past court orders cannot be trusted to be the judge for any reason.

I can claim that you sad you will commit treason, whether such claim is true or not, the court decides.

ColonelEmeka:

i already broke down what Buhari said to you and told you Reuben Abati was the one who mischievously misinterpreted Kare jini Biri Jini to mean dogs and baboon soaked in blood when it was refering to a big struggle between two big animals. The big animals in this case were Buhari and Jonathan at the polls.

It is about following the rule of law.

Please show the part of the law that says that intent is the same as the act itself

Also, please see this 2012 video link below and see what Buhari said about the blood and baboon.

Buhari has also made several statements in bad taste but no one arrested him.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcZVwA3WcZU

Are you saying that Buhari and Tinubu should be tried for treason?

Don't forget so many people have primised to bring Nigeria down, why is the government not going after them?

wirinet:

You have no idea of what law is. Intent is sometimes viewed as serious as the crime itself. You don't wait until someone is murdered before you arrest someone threatening murder. A mere threat is enough to warrant arrest and investigation, and if it was discovered that the person has clear intent and means of commuting murder, he can be locked up.

Provide link where Tinubu or Buhari threatened to change the government by revolution, violence or any unconstitutional means.

Yes the guys from Niger delta threatened to bring down Nigeria? how? By disrupting crude oil production, not by attempting to change the government unconstitutionally.

Truth will expose you and you will run away from this thread yourself.

Just look at what you saying that the courts are wrong, really! two different judges are wrong to bail someone for which you have filed charges of insulting the President and money laundry.

It is a shame to share a national space with you,

ColonelEmeka:

You do not need to get all hot and bothered and start a tirade of insults. if you do not like the thread and quietly move to another one.

According to our constitution, Treason is not a bailable offence so our courts got it wrong for some reason that time when Sowore was granted bail.

Kindly move on if you wish to turn this to a cuss fest
