Politics / Re: Babatunde Gbadamosi Reacts To Sowore & Dasuki Release, Talks About Jonathan by idid: 6:34pm On Dec 24, 2019 |
My problem is that you are missing the point - still. Look, let's assume that Jonathan's security apparatus was weak, it is still right for us to question the politics around the event that happened - that is, the invasion of his home by thieves. Focus on the politics now, not the security or Jonathan's own possible undoing. I have one question for you, why did the alleged invasion of Jonathan's home happened a night before the release of Sambo Dasuki, are you aware that Dasuki has been in detention for close to 5 years now. Even when the court ordered his release, the government failed. So why now? What do you think about it? For me, something is fishy and by the way, all those technological apparatuses you are talking about can be breaches in the nick of seconds. I appreciate your view about technology as a technologist myself but I think that relying on it, will not be the best - given the possibility of breaches that can happen. And when you talk about latest technology, what does the Otuoke man know about it anyway. healthserve: 9 Likes |

See you missed the point It is not the failure of Jonathan's own security failure or not that is being discussed; he obviously has armed security men and I believe that he has some security technology attached to his home too as ex president. The point here is that, this reckless government could be behind the whole security breach and maybe not. I hope you didn't miss this part where he said "My cautious approach is based on the diabolical precedents of this tyrannical Buhari government". And yes, it is possible. Yesterday, some armed thugs representing the president went to disrupt a peaceful protest by people campaigning for freedom and rule of law. Thieves went to kill a soldier and some armed security and you don't want people to raise questions such as the one Gbadamosi raised. I don't necessarily agree to his views and theory, but this is called the public sphere where every theory is in the open and discussed. Don't tell people to keep quiet. I would rather you suggest plausible explanations and nuances to what has happened. We live in repressive times, and anything can happen. healthserve: 24 Likes 2 Shares |

Yes, unsubstantiated.. How is it that you people won't allow people to reason the way they want anymore, let him say it as it is. It's his human right. If you have any contrast opinion, let's hear it. Maybe you can start by explaining who was trying to kill Jonathan... What can this stupid administration not do.. healthserve: 39 Likes 1 Share |

If true, it reveals few things: 1. That the judiciary has no balls, and that is - because many of them have soiled their hands in dirty politics with the state 2. That diplomatic and social media pressures do work; with the intervention of everyone here and there and the US government, the federal government has no options really. 3. That Sowore's disruptive politics makes sense than people realise... for example, Sowore has drawn heightened attention of the World about the repressive state of politics. Also, without Sowore's situation, Sambo Dansuki may never ever be released. Kudos to Omoyele Sowore, a enigma and a disruptor. But the game is just beginning. 30 Likes 2 Shares |

Although, it can be averted if Nigerians are willing.... but it will take a lot of physical and spiritual efforts. I saw the same thing early 2019 on about 2 or 3 occasions, I heard people chanting revolution amidst a proper street war. In the dream I led some youths all over the place to carry Tinubu when he was trying to jump over a fence. I am not a prophet and not close to one. but I see long before it occurs. Also, I am Yoruba and have nothing to gain if Tinubu is to go down, but what I see is what I have narrated. I want revolution but I believe it can happen in a peaceful way without people losing their lives. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

Mr PhD, you are just speaking English Jor. You obviously are just bragging and have nothing to add, to apply your knowledge to the given situation you are speaking grammar. Shame on you! Chest beater carrying certificate up and down with no value. I am not the one you will brag to with your academic qualifications because I will floor you in every intellectual argument and debate and I am not bragging about it. It is a challenge. If you truly know politics in theory and practice as you've claimed, you will not be playing tribal politics here, and defending impunity such as the one Jonathan brought to our country; exactly, which theory supports political impunity and incompetence? What theory supports ethnic stoking and your tribal politics on nairaland? You went to a University, did it go through you? And you have no idea what contentious politics is, because you are just an ethnic jingoist. Sorry mate, we are not in the same league, answer my questions and I will show you that I am your father x 10.. I will also teach you what academic rigor means. I also want to challenge you to an open debate here on Nairaland if you are sure of yourself. Choose any topic in politics; let's discuss it in any context you like and if Nigeria, perfect.... open a new thread for us and let's debate it. I promise to beat you to a pulp and teach you that we not mates intellectually, but not all of us have to chest beat. If you are not sure of a topic let's crowd source it here and let's see who is the father. Answer my question, accept my challenge or keep quiet forever. FactsAndTruth: 2 Likes |

Mr PhD, Jonathan who is your hero also bandied his doctorate around but could not discern when citizens were calling his attention to the ugly state of things. He was all over the plays saying how much he has spent on this and that; he has nothing and I mean nothing to show for it. Nigeria's decline was orchestrated by Jonathan and his cabals who were looting us in broad day light. Did he not have a PhD? And why do you people just accumulate degrees upon degrees for nothing, without using it to Xray the problem of your society properly and proffer appropriate solutions and actions. By the way, which professor allowed you to graduate without getting it into your skull that political awareness and contentious politics are not about tribal wars and ethnic division. Yorubas and Igbos can play different kind of politics, it is okay but it doesn't have to be tribal stoking and war or name calling. You are obviously a PhD that cannot tell that political hegemony (as the hausas have today) (go and read gramsci's prison notes), cannot be broken through jingoism, ethnocentric-ism and the kind of politics that you and other folks are unto here. Are you aware that to bring down any hegemony, people in the public sphere such as you and I, irrespective of our differences, must unite first and wage our war of counter-hegemony? Do you know what the war of counter hegemony is? All this may be too much for you Dr, so I want to challenge you before we can even debate further; else, I will ignore you - because I will be convinced that you are just a noise maker and I am not in your league. Tell us what contentious politics and the difference between contentious politics and partisan politics. If you are able to explain it, please also tell us how contentious politics is opposed to Jingoistic and Nationalistic politics. Also, clarify where you stand. FactsAndTruth: 1 Like |

Where were you when we all fought to expose Yaradua and the cabals who didn't want Jonathan to see the reign of power. I bet you were writing Jamb or locked up in one office collecting 10, 00 naira salary to survive; let me enlighten you. Jonathan did get there on a platter of Gold, people fought for him to become President, and it was the same people who fought him to be out when he started misbehaving. The same rules apply to Buhari and will continue to apply. Cowards want everyone to be playing the ethnic card, no politics is more than that your foolish egotistic and jingoistic approach to doing it. You want out of Nigeria? Okay, negotiate it or use any means you have but please stop your tribal stupidity. FactsAndTruth: 1 Like 1 Share |

Honestly, the matter tire me. When it is sporting time like football, come and see Unity between this two groups. Unity that no one else in the World can ever understand or break. We intermarry a great deal and it is even increasing especially among Nigerians in the diaspora. These days I am hearing names like Adefunke Okpara, Emeka Oluwafemi and so on... What can be more beautiful! As some igbos love Amala, so can many yoruba's die for isi ewu. Yorubas like me name our children beautiful igbo names, some igbos like my friends name their kids yoruba names. We attend each other's function, we rent houses to ourselves and do business with one another. We employ one another to our companies and worship at the same places of worship. I think the online tribalism and ethnocentric thing comes from outsiders who are bent on dividing both, but I also think that it comes from Yorubas and Igbos who had poor and biased upbringing, such as those who grow up in villages without exposure to how towns people roll together. That is why I don't play no ethnic politics, why would I when we all are suffering the same evil northern powers. I don't hate the north but we have to say it as it is, Yorubas and the Igbos are not the problems of one another. I bet that we will make the best nation on earth if both can come together. Actually, enough of the division.. 1 Like |

Actually, my suspension is that there are non-Nigerians who already do that, just to cause more distraction and hatred. But I won't be surprised if northerners do too. Yorubas and Igbos are supposed to be best of the best of friends, irrespective of cultural differences. But guys are allowing themselves to be divided. And only both tribes unite, all the noise about Biafra and Odua maybe in futility. MKULTRA: 3 Likes |

You are just a tribal warrior up to no good, chest beating for nothing up and down. What sense is in all the gibberish you've just typed here? Better shut your trap with your Jonathan nonsense; Jonathan remains a very corrupt and irresponsible President and he along Buhari will go down in history as one of the worse. I repeat, choosing Buhari was the better choice then in 2015 for anyone that wasn't interested in your ethnic card, and although Buhari's first term could have been better, he managed to cool the the spate of thieving that all of you Jonathanians were doing in broad day light. Just about the third year of Buhari or so, his government was hijacked and some of his score cards became as bad as they were under Jonathan and that was when people with conscience started to backtrack. So what is their sin? That they voted him in the first place? People like you justifying Jonathan up and down and blaming Yoruba's for your misfortunes are useless and senseless animals,.. If yoruba's don't play it right, get balls, play it correctly and stop shouting, shouting and shouting. Coward! FactsAndTruth: 5 Likes |

If this east cannot suffer with the rest of Nigeria, what have you done about it apart from agitating for Biafra on Nairaland and calling anyone that is not in support names... What initiatives, activities have you put together to engage your people, sensitize and empower then regarding yourdesired secession? Fact is Jonathan was irresponsible and terrible... only that Buhari has just surpassed him in cluelessness.. But he is definitely not better, don't justify any rubbish here. 37 billion naira is not enough to be honest considering that around N40 billlion had been spend in 2014 which was not enough at all. I suggest N37 trillion dollars. Please note I didn't say naira. I mean dollars... If we allocate 37 trillion dollars at least we'll all know that nothing is left for the common man again. Right now, common man can barely survive but we don't know it.
