It is basically simple : Nigeria has high record of human right abuse ... Any slight activism is usually met by deploying Military to shut protesters down and by the time one or two people got pinned ,the rest would got discarded !!

Also, we can't guarantee these sophisticated weapons from falling into the wrong hands during our inter-ethnic/tribal political manouvering , we may not be able to adequately account for these weapons and US may find herself to blame if we mismanage this sophisticated tools !!

This is where the government needs to spend some money on PR campaign in the US. Despite relative closeness of many media outlets to the Nigerian opposition and the terrorists in Nigeria, a good PR campaign can turn things around and bring pressure to bear on Obama's state department.
For too long our goverment ignored, dismissed, and failed to respond to every damaging allegations that have b uilt up over time. If the northern governors association could hold secret meeting with the US state department officials, why can't the GEJ administration find a way to meet with these same people.
Their coverage and publicity about Boko Haram is quite unfortunate, because instead of showing us how Boko Haram is killing innocent Nigerians, US officials are made to show how the Nigerian army fighting BK were committing human right abuses.
The US media, Senators, House of rep. members, etc should be brought in at all cost to things the Nigerian goverment way.
