Yea, you may be right or wrong?? Cos you did it and worked for you. Also going thru your timeline, your approval took a while(june-dec.) for a phd application. Have you tot that probably it was because it took awhile for them to verify that you had enough liquid funds. No one is saying liquidate all funds on fixed deposit or Treasury bill for visa purpose. However, you need to show proof of funds that are readily available.
So my advice make your profile as clear as possible to avoid delays.

So that is the only timeline you saw. You didn't see a second application on 6th of March that got approved on 9th of April. Mind the advise you dish out to people if you're not following IRCC instruction or without experience.

Please stop advising people to liquidate their investment because of visa application. For the record, no one has ever been denied because his or her money is on fixed deposit or Treasury bill. I am a self sponsor student going for PhD. I got approved with treasury bill and fixed deposits investments. The only balance I had in my statement of account was 500k.

Yes I got approved with conditional offer. You need to address it in your SOP that you have applied to your university to send them your transcript.

It all ended in praise!!!! Thanks be to God Almighty my baby's application was approved. It all started June last year. I applied with my three dependents ( hubby : SOWP, two children: V and I :SP). Then I was pregnant and our application took them six months to approve; Dec 20, 2018 and at that point I was already 8 months gone. So I decided to give birth before traveling. I put to be on January 14, 2019.

One week after birth I started another process of getting my baby's international passport which was ready end of January. I decided not to apply online because of the long wait of 2018 application. I waited for the baby to be at least six weeks old before setting out for another journey to Lagos both for upfront medical and paper application on March 6th.

After two weeks of her application they didn't update her medical. I had to write them to update it and they did. Then I gave them another two weeks because there's no background check. I sent them email on Monday to attend to her application and on Tuesday eligibility review started. Then this morning they replied my email that they have finalised her application.

To all hopefuls!!! Yours will end in praises.

Yes upfront medical passed. The application was for an infant of 10 weeks old.

I just got this response from Nairobi, but it has not been updated online. Still on eligibility review.

Sorry I omitted one of your questions. They will know during your medical. In case your stomach doesn't show you're pregnant please ensure you tell them during your medical because they will know. Remember they will screen your blood and urine and you will be exposed to x-ray. If you don't tell them you're pregnant they will not use protective shield on you and that will affect the foetus. And if they discover you lied they might report your case to the embassy. As for fund you don't need additional fund now because u haven't given birth.

Like I said before, it depends on the stage of pregnancy. If you obtain your study permit before 8 months you can travel and give birth in Canada but if you eventually give birth in Nigeria that means you will apply for baby and that's the situation I am in currently. And you need to show additional fund to what you declared before .

It depends on the stage of pregnancy. Please let them know the exact stage eg first trimester, 2nd or 3rd and you will be advised appropriately. It doesn't affect the decision of your TRV. I was 8 months gone when I did my medical and my study permit was approved.

Quoting your application number is one of the options. Check the option that ask of passport number and do the needful.

We now have a sample of 18 hopefuls. Please i would encourage those that have applied this year to please share their timeline (which should include; the application date, application route, biometrics request date, date biometrics was done, medical request date, date medicals was done, date medicals was passed, and the current status). If you don't have all this information, you can just share the ones that you have and update the rest as you receive it.

This information would help us study or attempt to establish a pattern to how CIC operates.

We have made attempts to "calculate" processing times. (Please note that this is just an average based on the little sample we have. Your processing time may be faster or slower than the average). As we get more samples, I want to believe our calculations would be more "accurate".

Finally, If there is anything you think i should add to the data or calculate from the data, please share with me.

I think the delay of June, July applicants is coming from Lagos. I emailed both London and Lagos to request for extension of medical examination and Lagos granted my request immediately.

Been pregnant even before medicals is done, won’t stand against your visa chances. Trying to conceal your pregnancy is what will stand negatively in the way of obtaining your visa. All pregnant people should disclose their status during medicals because X-ray can harm unborn fetus. As far as you have money to take care of your expenses in Canada and show that you have ties that will induce your return to Nigeria, been pregnant is not a qualms. You can get covered for insurance for yourself and your baby cheaper than normal if you obtain health insurance through your school. I speak from experience of a woman I met here on this forum. While her application was pending, before medicals, she became pregnant. She thought of concealing it, but I told her not a good idea. We worked on her SOP addressing such pregnancy issue and the financial obligation she has made to take care of herself and her baby through the school insurance policy. CIC didn’t see it as a qualms and approved her. She enetered Canada about 4 months pregnant and was not asked any questions at POE. Her story is not unique. Hello guys please answer my question. I have been waiting since June 30. I just got medical request on November 30 but I have a challenge as regard to this. l am visibly pregnant and cannot be exposed to X-ray. Secondly I have tried to book an appointment with the approved physician and they said the next available date is February 2019. Please I need to request for extension from CIC. How do I contact them?

I just got medical request; please how do I go about it Firstly, I called Q-Life family clinic for appointment and they said their next appointment date is in February. Please I want to know if we can go without any appointment. Secondly, I am pregnant and I don't know if I will be allowed to complete my medical because of X- ray exposure. I applied on the 30th of June. My application is now 16weeks and 3days. My eligibility review started when it was exactly 10weeks. Since then no update from them. I mailed them and all they kept saying was that my application is under active review. May God forgive this people cos this is the real definition of WICKEDNESS AND INEFFICIENCY. A visa application that isn't supposed to take more than 2weeks now takes almost 17weeks and no response. It will end in praises. I fully trust in God.

I really don't understand why you think it is a privilege to grant visa. For God's sake this is business. If they don't want us then they shouldn't have an embassy in Nigeria. How can they collect my money since over 3 months without attending to my application. Meanwhile they stated on their website then that it takes 9 weeks to reach a decision. We need to protest about this injustice rather than letting this nonsense continue.

However, we got an update yesterday for Medical passed for all of us meanwhile passport is already with the Visa office. .

Please, I want to ask, does anyone have an idea how to go about getting an International Drivers license in Nigeria?
Is it okay to land Canada on a weekend? say Saturday or Sunday. For people that have landed, was it better landing on weekday or a weekend?. I have plenty load.

As regards international driving licence, you can get it at the same place they get police clearance certificate in Ikoyi Lagos. It used to be 7000 naira, but not sure of the cost now.
