Good day mamas.

Please I need advice.

My 21-month-old daughter was having cough and running temperature last week. We took her to the hospital and she was given amoxicillin to be used for a week. Three days after we started giving her, she coughed all through the night to the extent that she could not sleep. Had to take her back to the hospital and she was nebulized twice. The doctor then gave us piriton, azithromycin and prednisolone. The prednisolone is new to me so I decided to check it online. The information I saw on it was scary to say the least. Now, I'm scared to give her. Should I go ahead or not? Please help.

Does your LO have Asthma cos the few people I know (adults) that used Prednisolone were on treatment for Asthma.

3 weeks old? Sounds like baby acne, comes and goes by itself, does not necessarily need medication. Just bathe baby and if possible, don't apply cream or oil to the face.

PS: Sudocream is not recommended for baby's face, please stop using it on her delicate face.

I love my wife to d moon and I recently told her I don't get full each time we eat foods like rice, spaghetti, Indomie, beans n plantain together that she should be putting mine large in a different plate but we can always eat d regular eba, amala and soup together cos I'm trying to add more weight and suddenly she took offense. I used to be a strong believer in the Nigerian police being your friend. But my experience few weeks ago has made me think otherwise. I went to the Central police station Umuahia to report incessant robberies around my place of business every night. The DPO mandated the head of a particular patrol team to make sure that they are on duty in that location every night . The police officer then told me to meet the driver of his patrol van and give him my details. The driver (a Sergent) collected my names ,phone number, and the address of the place I do business . These I gave him and he assured that they will be on duty every night starting from that very day being a Friday.
To my greatest surprise ,my place of business I gave the address to them was burgled that same night . I called the driver of the patrol van whom I had his phone number and told him what happened. All that he could say was to ask me if I suspected anyone. I told him no because I was sleeping with my two eyes closed hoping that they were on duty as directed by the DPO. Three days later ,some policemen came to us, telling us that they had in their custody a boy that had confessed to be part of the gang that robbed our building. When we got to the police station, we parted with the usual and they told us that the boy confessed that all the goods they stole were kept in the house of the daughter of one Joe king and that they will go and search her house.
To our greatest surprise, the police went and arrested the woman after we've left. When the police went to search her house, they informed us that they found nothing which contradicts the statement of the suspect they have in their custody.
This was an indication that the police deliberately busted this operation for reasons best known to them and denying us the opportunity to recover our stolen goods, despite all the money they collected from us.
Is it an overstatement to conclude that the police in Umuahia are colluding with these criminal elements to perpetrate crime in Umuahia.
Please IGP and AIG ,do something about this and come to our rescue.

She does it both day nd night, infact as i'm typing dis shes just standing up from my bed. She does it whenever she wants to go nd lie d baby dwn if hes asleep den she wl end up lieing dwn nd sleeping. Her son (dh) sees her but does'nt say anytin. I just dey luk her wit turkey meme side eye. Dis days na2 dey wear 3quarter short for me evn wear am go outside. D tin dey shame me bt dh no wan tlk. End of rant.

It's not like she marches to your bed and spreads herself there. . . She does that only when she goes to put baby to sleep there.
Its likely an involuntary action ; stress of getting baby to sleep, your bed is much firmer/stronger, softer, your room is more cooler/warmer and her old bones just giving in.

This is not worth a fight or battle. Have you checked out her bedroom, bed lately to see how comfortable or otherwise it is? If your MIL can carry your baby, she definitely ain't too dirty or unworthy to lie on your precious bed. Pick your battles wisely.

IF you really can't stand it, arrange to have mama go back or get a baby cot placed outside your bedroom so MIL won't have an excuse to get into your bedroom.

I personally have a problem, in fact I get mad and wild when people spank children in anger as opposed to light spanking to correct when all other methods fail.

What we have these days are teachers, uncles, aunts, parents transferring their frustration and anger to children under the disguise of spanking or correcting.
