I'm a Radiographer. I ve small amount to invest in small scale business like 50
Better come back home and invest that your small amount here. It's not easy for Nigerians to set up a legitimate small scale business in other African countries. You can only venture into whatever business:
If you have a lot of money as start up capital
Marry a local and use her name to set up the company (risky)
Get local partners (risky too)

Well, it's your decision to make. Your best chance is getting another job there or return home.

Hehe. My opinion exactly. The guy is not stranded enough yet. When he is, he will go to the airport and beg to be deported. It's better to be jobless at home than be jobless in a foreign country.

Family › Re: Should DNA Test Be Done Before Filling A Paternity Certificate ? by ifyalways(f): 9:03pm On Aug 05, 2017
@OP,no vex, na night school I attend, what is paternity certificate? Have you seen one in Nigeria? Or ever needed one?

@Topic, the way una carry this DNA issue for head Sha, one would assume it's now affordable in Naija. Men that can't even provide their wives/gfs/baby Mamas 2000 ngn for regular pregnancy scan or 5000 ngn to register for ante natal go come online screaming DNA, DNA. cheesy.

Should DNA test be taken before issuing birth certificate in Nigeria? I think it's not realistic, considering that all DNA samples taken in Nigeria are sent abroad first and takes a minimum of two weeks to get the result.

Hello ladies, I hope I am posting this question in the right forum. Please redirect me if I am wrong. Been a while since I visited nairaland.
I would like to start ante natal so I checked out Vichs hospital in Vi,Lagos behind Mobil filling station off Ligali. The place seems ok and the proximity to my home and office is perfect, but no one I know has ever used them for ante natal or delivery or even goes there for any form of treatment.
Please does anyone here have any reviews about them service wise. Thank you.
No reviews but I know one of the doctors who worked there briefly but now in US.

IF there are no reviews and sign of activity going on there why not find another hospital? There's one specialist hospital at Ajose adeogun and Reddington

You are stranded but won't return home until you blow?

Bear in mind that Gambia is not Nigeria where anything goes and they have zero patience for foreigners, Nigerians especially who come into their country and commit any kind of crime.

Family › Re: Women Are Not Liabilities!!! by ifyalways(f): 5:13pm On Aug 04, 2017
Yuji:
This morning I took a taxi at Airforce junction going to Eliozu. A woman drove, my second time of joining a taxi driven by a woman. From all I witnessed, she is not a regular cab driver.

On our way, I observed the vehicle was in a bad shape and almost broke down at some point. I began asking myself; what kind of woman would risk driving on that highway in an obviously bad vehicle, endangering her life and those of her passengers. The answer to my question came like a whisper..... 'the kind of woman who would do anything legitimate to feed her children'

Then I wondered, where do 'men' get the impression that women are 'liabilities' whose only interest is money? Who started that propaganda? Could it be possible that someone's 'isolated' experience has been made generic.

Some 12years ago I lost my father. It was women, My two Aunts and My Mum that came together and ensured that my family of six siblings got a tertiary education. All my uncles; 'men' absconded. Up till this day, I have never eaten a 'kobo' from any male in the ancestral line of the Asole's outside my late father. In fact, had it not been for the bravery of my two Aunts, my uncles would have taken everything that belonged to my father including that 'mud' house in the village. I wept the day my first Aunt told me the only reason she married from our village was to stay close to her brother, my father. Yet, someone still calls women 'liabilities'.

I have younger ones in school. The boy will ask me for money, ask my elder brother for money and ask my mother for money....., all at same time. But the girls, especially the one after the boy, she would never ask if she never needed it. Sometimes I call her up to ask how she is managing. Then she would tell me mummy gave her money. She is the only one that can call on phone to ask how I am managing without any request. But the boy....., in fact he only calls me 'big brother' when he is in need, after that, it is obinna or oboy (without capital letter). Yet, someone says women are liabilities.

I think when the chips are down, in every family, women are the only people who can be trusted to take up responsibility. I'm not just speaking from personal family experience, I see this in many families as well.

We must learn to stop this fallacy of unqualified generalization. That one girl took money from you and absconded does not mean every girl is money driven. I am surrounded by hard working ladies, those who wake up early and daily striving to achieve their dreams. As a Bachelor I visit PH slaughter market often, 90% of the sellers there are women; under the sun and in the rain. They are not playing, they are striving. Women are the only people who will not back down from family responsibilities even in the midst of family quarrels. They would never allow their father's house see shame. A woman carries on where a man's pride and arrogance won't. A man can drive taxi, strive day and night only to drink ogogoro with the proceeds or carry 'ashawo'. But when a woman hits the road, it is solely for the interest of her family.

So dear men, when next you have the opportunity to ask a woman's hand in marriage, don't consider it a favor to her, rather an opportunity to bring into your life someone who will carry your responsibility when the chips are down.

...... Women are not liabilities, but dependable support in times of need.......

Not holding brief for the church but what exactly were you expecting the church to do for you? Pay your hotel bills or ask a member to accommodate you because you claimed you are a member. Even in religious houses, care, caution and wisdom is applied. A criminal, wanted person etc can as well approach the church, claim to be a member and then strike.

When I was a Baptist and when the world was not so evil, if you are embarking on a trip to another state/city, you approach your home pastor who would write a letter of introduction and recommendation that you will present to the branch pastor of the town/city you are headed to, that way, when you require an assistance, the church will be confident to help you.

Btw, You claim you are attending a training. Your training colleagues would actually be in a better position to help you.

And she goes oh that poor baby is hungry shocked. Baby that weighed seven kg at ten weeks is hungry. I have to keep reminding people she's three months old cuz she looks like an eight months old. If this kin baby is hungry then I don't know again. Why can't old people just accept that younger people may have found a better way of doing things. Like these arguments don't even make sense and are beginning to annoy me. My mum on her own side is there screaming Don't quit work yet don't put the baby in a crèche and do EBF until six months and if you decide to put the baby in a crèche make sure she still always sucks straight from the breast cuz bottles have germs. Like how am I supposed to pull off all this at the same time cheesy
