Igbos always blame others except themselves.
Let's see them in history. This write up is a good read. Enjoy!

Do you know that when Azikiwe formed government with Tafawa Balewa in the early 60s (Tafawa Balewa was Prime Minister of Nigeria and Azikiwe was the ceremonial president) this was what we had:

Chief of Army Staff was from SE
Chief of Naval Staff was from SE
IG of Police was from SE
Chief of Defence staff was fron SE
Internal Affairs Minister SE
External Affairs Minister SE
Education Minister South SE
Many other key ministries to SE
Parliament President SE
Unilag VC from SE
University of Ibadan VC from SE
North resisted same at ABU!
Still there was dissatisfaction by SE, the officers from the region killed this same Balewa!!!!
Out of all the most senior officers in Nigeria, SE has 37, none was killed. 8 from the north, all of them were killed. 10 from the west, 2 were killed.
Then Ironsi imposed a unitary system of government on the country so that everything can belong to a region who snatched it!
We must know our history so that when we want to make corrections, we will not end up concealing the truth. This has nothing to do with tribalism but everything to do with the truth.....at times when lies litter the streets. There is the tendency to think those are truths and facts.
"What follows are documented facts that can be cross checked for authenticity!"
Thou shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.
“Prof. Ben Nwabueze was the man who drafted the constitution that took away powers from regions and handed it to the central govt because his brother Aguiyi Ironsi was the head of state then. Today, he is shouting restructuring that he helped to destroy. We won’t forget.”. Let those who have ears
WHAT BIAFRANS WILL NEVER TELL YOU ABOUT THE REAL CAUSE OF THEIR WOES IN NIGERIA TODAY:
The Igbo man is known to enjoy blaming the Hausafulanis, Yorubas and indeed every other Nigerian tribe and Lord Luggard/Britain for their seeming claim of being in third class citizen status in Nigeria. In their perpetual attempts to play the victim card, they recount the political events of Nigeria from 1914 to the present in a half-baked and highly selective manner which cleverly avoids the mention of the roles played by their elite who by all natural laws of judgement were actually responsible for the woes that befell not only the Igbo race but the entire Nigeria nation.
The story told in the post above is one of such selective and distorted accounts of history which the average Igbo man is fond of narrating.
However, the national archives have the complete and unedited history of Nigeria regarding the political events beginning way back from even before 1914. I will therefore proceed to furnish my readers with the complete story for all to read and be endowed with enough facts so as to judge and act from an informed position.
Shortly after the 1914 Amalgamation of the Northern and Southern Protectorates, it started getting clear that the country was bound to fail as the amalgamation in question was done with colonial fiat without the consent and consensus of the different tribes which were over 300. This prompted the political leaders to start asking for de-amalgamation so as to forestall the future danger which the forced amalgamation portended.
To that end, Ahmadu Bello, speaking on behalf of the Northern protectorate in 1944 described the amalgamation as "The mistake of 1914 which if allowed to remain will ultimately lead to unstoppable bloodshed and a failed country".
Awolowo, speaking on behalf of the Yorubas and Western minorities, described Nigeria as a mere geographical expression not qualified to be called a country let alone a nation. Awolowo added that if the amalgamation could not be reversed, then Nigeria should be structured as a strictly federal state so as to enable each tribe enjoy autonomy this freedom from being dominated by any one single tribe.
But Nnamdi Azikiwe, speaking for the Igbos, denounced Awolowo and Ahmadu Bello, terming them ethnic champions. He accused them of nursing a sectional agenda against the unity of Nigeria, and he declared further that the Unity of Nigeria was non-negotiable.
After moving the motion for independece in 1953, Anthony Enahoro proposed that a secession clause should be incorporated into the future constitution of Nigeria so as to give legal backing for any tribe to peacefully exit the forced union if it feels marginalized in future. According to Enahoro, such provision in our constitution would instill in all Nigeria's future leaders the fear of the consequences of misgovernance. But Azikiwe, speaking on behalf of Igbos, rose against him in the parliament and labelled him an agent of disunity, and enemy of Nigeria. At a later date, Awolowo too made a case for secession clause, but Azikiwe again resisted him and instigated the colonial authorities to threaten him and Enahoro with charges of treasonable felony if they didn't stop proposing secession clause for the future constitution. While Azikiwe did all these, Igbos cheered and urged him on because they felt the future Nigeria was theirs to dominate and lord it over every other tribe
Before independece, Tafawa Balewa too had in a public speech described Nigeria as a British experiment and Nigeria's unity as a British intention which Nigerians themselves don't believe in. But Azikiwe kicked and demonized him too. Had Azikiwe co-operated with Enahoro, Awolowo, Ahmadu Bello and Tafawa Balewa about the secession clause, Nigeria perhaps would not have been this misgoverned.
For those in doubt, here is a link of one of the numerous instances in which Nnamdi Azikiwe fought against the secession clause proposal for the future Nigeria constitution.
Lies, lies and more blatant lies!!!
History told from a dishonest mouth is bound to be twisted to suit evil agendas. Normally i would type paragraphs upon paragraphs of facts to disprove your narrative but I've found out that Nairalanders dont like hearing truths told by Igbos. So i sought to make screenshots of Niggerian History told by more neutral persons. If you doubt what was written here, you can as well go do some research by searching on google, academia, archive.org or other history/research websites.

Don't listen to the agents of division sent by the people holding your unborn generations hostage. This has always been their tactics from inception. Test whatever they say and what i say also with historical research and all lies shall be laid bare.

VERY HISTORIC PIECE

Copied from "FRIENDS IKOYI CLUB 1938" Forum posted by Adenike Marinho, a Medical Doctor.

HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE OF HATRED
I had the privilege of attending some meetings of the Yoruba and Igbo Leaders. I was not a leader but a youth who knew how to wash his hands. At one of those meetings in Owerri, I think in 1989, I think, I listened to Uncle Bola Ige and other Yoruba Leaders take the likes of Mbakwe, R. B. Okafor and others to the cleaners when the Igbo said the Yoruba were betrayers, citing that Chief Obafemi Awolowo led them into secession with a promise that if the Igbo left Nigeria, the Yoruba would follow suit. They accused him of not following up on his promise. Trust Uncle Bola Ige! He pointed to Chief Mbakwe and said, "you were there in the meeting between Awolowo and Ojukwu as I was. Is that statement correct?".He turned to two other Igbo and two Yoruba Leaders who were at that meeting and asked the same question, saying he had transcripts of the meeting between Awolowo and Ojukwu. They kept quiet while the Yoruba Leaders affirmed that Awolowo never promised to follow the East into secession. What he said was that if the Igbo were "driven" out of Nigeria the Yoruba would take it seriously and reassess their own position. Igbo Leaders DID NOT CONTEST this version. Then Chief Bola Ige threw in the clincher! "Who are you to accuse the Yoruba of betrayal?" he roared, and continued:
1. At Independence Awolowo offered a joint government between the NCNC and AG, with Zik as Prime Minister and Awo as Finance Minister. Awo and Zik "were still negotiating" when it was announced that Zik would be President in a coalition with NPC of the North. The East then collaborated in destroying the West and sending Awolowo and his leutenants to jail!
2. What of the 1965 elections which the West and the East agreed to boycott? We met all night and reached agreement about 3am on the day of the election. In the morning, while the Yoruba boycotted the election, the Igbo went to vote
3. After the 1979 elections Yoruba (UPN) and Igbo (APP?) Leaders were still at the negotiating table for a coalition when to their surprise, an announcement was heard that the Igbo (APP) had agreed to a coalition with the North (NPN)
4. After the 1983 elections, 1979 repeated itself. Not giving up, Awolowo reached out to Azikiwe again for cooperation. Talks started and they met in Benin where Awo pleaded passionately that only a collaboration between The Igbo and the Yoruba could save Nigeria. They didn't reach agreement but promised to meet again. Before the next meeting, the Igbo had again teamed up with the North
Uncle Bola paused and then continued "we can go on and on. So how dare you accuse the Yoruba of betrayal? How many Igbo have been killed in Lagos, Ibadan, Akure, Oshogbo (he mentioned other Yoruba towns)? You have your businesses in the West and went to Western schools. Yet you count the Yoruba as your enemy. You get killed in Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, Zaria etc and have your goods looted yet you consider the Hausa/ Fulani your friends. It's your choice. If you want to be slaves for ever, we can't help you"
I had never been so scared in my life. I thought the roof was going to fall. There was a pin drop silence and no Igbo dared interrupt Uncle Bola Ige because he was telling the truth. The Yoruba Leaders ended the meeting at that point and left. I hope Chief C. O. Adebayo's memoirs will give more details of those exchanges.
Now to make three points from all this:
A. The Yoruba have been stretching their hand across the Niger for a handshake for a long time. The Igbo refused to take it for a long time until recently
B. Many Igbo Leaders of the 70s, 80s and 90s deliberately perpetrated the legend of Awolowo's role betraying them into the civil war and his role in prosecuting the war, to rally the Igbo population behind themselves. The Igbo agreed on Yoruba hatred than on any other issue. So it was the fabric that held them together for a long time
C. Time heals all things. Many Igbo reading this will be hearing for the first time that their leaders of old knew for a truth that Awolowo did not break his word to Ojukwu as alleged. And to think of it, EVEN IF OUR PARENTS QUARRELLED, SHOULD WE THE NEW GENERATION CONTINUE THE SAME WAY?. ITS TIME TO COME TOGETHER AND MAKE THE HANDSHAKE ACROSS THE NIGER WORK FOR THE SAKE OF OUR PEOPLES AND NIGERIA
Bros, i like the fact that you're trying to form a unified font for a social well being. It's quite applaudable i must say...but when you try to twist facts to suit the narrative, then you begin to build on a faulty foundation.

Let's assume that Awolowo didnt betray Ojukwu and the igbos as a whole (which is very false) wasnt it the same awolowo who took away all the money the Igbos had in the banks, alongside their properties and gave them a meagre £20 each? Saying all these you wrote up there is just like pouring a large quantity of salt to an open injury.

We have all had our bad history, tring to change the narrative of the past will only cause more harm. Its time to rewrite the future by changing from the wrong path which our fathers had led us into, to the right path which leads to a brighter future for generations to come. This path can only be found by the dissolution of this contraption.

An aggrieved person can only be placated when the offender admits his wrong , truly repents and asks for forgiveness. Peace smiley

Now we see the real coward
Ndi ewu
I try as much as possible not to use curse words on this forum, but in your case i will go back on my standards.

You are one of the reasons why the good Oduduwa people are stereotyped as "backstabbers", "Hypocrites", "cowards" and "double mouthed" people. Just look at the brazen double standards here.In all ramifications, you have lived up fully to the adjectives i used in the previous sentence. Your level of hypocrisy stinks to the high heavens.

Nnamdi Kanu boldly and passionately campaigned for that which an Oodua son is now campaigning for, he was jailed for 2+ years, the igbo people were massacred in thousands during several protests, given inhumane treatments and brutalized but still contunued. Most Niggerians cheered the military and all armed forces in the genocide saying "it suits them right, bloody igbos, foolish ipobs". The sowore who is now campaigning for the same thing was one of those who heralded the campaign of media slander against the ipobs, Nnamdi kanu and igbos as a whole.

Nnamdi kanu was released from jail, given stern warning not to hold any gathering of more than 20 persons, still he and the ipobs at large even became more viscuous and passionate in protests. The military did the python dance operation, wiped out his entire family but he and his parents managed to escape death nevertheless due to old age, his parents died from the trauma later on. He then started to use international diplomacy and media international sensitization as a tool to continue the noble cause.

On the other hand, the people who applauded the Niggerian govt for their onslaught and murder against the Igbos are now feeling the same heat and want to go on the same protest which the ipobs did, they haven't even been given 1/50th of the treatment the igbos received but are screaming 'injustice'. The python which most of your people fed and clapped for when it was swallowing your neighbors chickens is now hungry and is feeing on yours.

Double Standards gbuo gi there!

The name yoruba which you now bear was even given to you by your conquerors (the fulanis and europeans) as "yarriba" these same people you lick their boots till date.

https://www.nairaland.com/5485625/fani-kayode-right-name-yoruba

Stop soiling the name of the few remaining trustworthy omoluabis with your treacherous characteristics. If i wasnt exposed, i would have said you all are the same. I have a handful of good yoruba friends that are trustworthy in all essence so when i see your kind on Nairaland it irks my spirit and irritates me that i was born into a contraption with your likes.

Anyways, there is still redemption for the lost. Go and do a thorough research into history and find out who your real enemy are. Unlearn all the gibberish you've accumulated over the years and break yourself free from the shackles of mental slavery which has reduced you to the very demeaning mental state which you currently suffer. May God help you, Amen!

If Fulanis all the way from Futa Jalon and Mauritania came to Nigeria and took over control of the political leadership of Hausa people, Nupe tribe, Gbagyi communities and Yoruba community of Ilorin, what makes you think that they will give up power to Tinubu led political alliance?

I live in the North and I can tell anyone categorically that the only tribe in Nigeria that the Fulani feel they cannot hoodwink are the Igbo people and that is why they ensured that an Igboman never became the Chief of Army Staff since General Ironsi until Jonathan appointed General Ihejirika and the same Fulanis knew that Ihejirika was going to crush Boko Haram which they were using to make Jonathan appear weak by making the country ungovernable, they deceived Jonathan into sacking him with claims of General Ihejirika was killing northerners and taking revenge for Biafra and because of that he won't get their votes. A naive GEJ who is now going foolishly around as 'Peace envoy' to other countries while Fulani Gunmen are mercilessly slaughtering killing Nigerians refused to listen to wise counsel from even his own Ijaw Youth Council.

This position of Mamman Daura represent the opinion of his ruling Fulani clan.
The non Visa requirements for Africans was targeted at allowing Fulanis from all over the continent to come and live in Nigeria and communities in fertile areas such as Southern Kaduna and the Middle Belt is being ruthlessly cleared up for them.

See the video below of Sardauna before independence to get the mindset of this people and the wicked idea they sold to people in the South about perceived dominance of Igbos to take control of oil which is currently in the hands of Fulani elites.
Instead of tackling the Fulani agenda the youths in Nairaland are helping the Fulani agenda by Igbos bashing Yorubas and vice versa daily. shocked

Good morning everyone.

The subject refers,
I am a Christian. However, I have been struggling with a whole lot of non Christian like habit. One of such habit is watching of pornography and masturbating. This habit has lingered for more than 10 years now.
I am an introvert probably what has made it worse and perpetual.
I don't like this act. But I usually still practice it.

I believe God loves me but he hates this act. I really don't know how to STOP IT.

Pls I need help. This has really affected my relationship with the Holy spirit, myself and other people please help.

Also I have discovered that in the past 2 years i have been so disorganized, and forgetful.

At work I have been termed a LIER. I feel really embarrassed with myself when people give me something and I forget I have been given or I don't know where exactly I kept it. Then I will be asked of the same thing I won't be able to find it. Sometimes I deny it was ever given to me because I can't remember It was ever given to me.

This has brought me a lot of struggles at work(banking) and has made me ever so frustrated with myself.

I WASN'T LIKE THIS before. It so unfortunate this is happening to me.

My prayer life too has gone down the drain it's zero. I attend church service Sunday however due to the current lockdown I can say I don't have any relationship with God!

Please I need help
An addiction is a spiritual battle. It will always rear its embarrassing ugly head irrespective of environment, occasion or state of mind.

Getting married or having a busy work schedule wont change anything. The said marriage would even be set for doom, you won't enjoy sex with your wife, that connection wont be there, in fact you may love her but she would be more of a liability to you. Its just like saying marriage will stop a nympho from being a sex maniac.

When the nympho marries, she will still have sex with whatever passes her way and nobody would still be able to control her.

The best solution to this thing is to nip it in the bud, uproot it from its source. First things first, go home, go down on your knees and cry to God for help, pray and beg him from the depth of your heart, pray like your life depends on it, Elohim that reads the contents of our hearts always helps those who call him from the depth of their hearts.

Pornography is the food that feeds lustful thoughts in your brain, slowly but surely it takes over your thinking faculty. As a man thinketh so does he act. Starve your body of pornography and the lustful thoughts will die slowly.
You should try to stop pornography even just for a week (this might be very hard, but with God all things are possible). Start with abstaining for a day, then two days, 5 days, one week , 2weeks, a month and then you will feel the urge slowly run away from you.

But i must warn you, you MUST pray always, in and out of season. Pray multiple times a day like the muslims do, pray pray and pray always, without constant prayer you cannot survive 3 days without masturbating. Masturbation is more spiritual than physical, you'd see ladies frequently coming to have sex with you in the dream. Bros this is a battle for your life!!!

A negative addiction can only be replaced by another which may be positive or negative. You have to be addicted to studying the Word of God, just as frequently as you used to masturbate and watch porn. What does this do? It replaces the lustful images in your head with heavenly insights. As a man thinketh so does he act. When one's head is filled with God's word, porn, lust and anything which is not of God can not be found. Light and darkness cannot meet, one must give way for the other (light always wins).

May God almighty Elohim, the Creator of all seen and unseen grant you the grace to be victorious in this fight against evil, we pray through Jesus Christ, Amen.

igboamakaaa:
This doesn't deserve my reply, but i will reply anyways just to set records straight.

The full meaning of IPOB = Independent People Of Biafara.
Who are the Biafrans? They are the people of the lower Niger region in the southern part of the contraption now called Nigeria. These people consist majorly of Igbo tribe descent and affiliate igbo speaking tribes alongside other non-igbo speaking tribes that have similar cultural practices with the Igbos.

There is no way you can mention Ipob without Igbo being a part of it. Are Biafrans hausa or Yorubas or Fulanis?

Do you know what you were called before your colonialists gave you the name Nigeria? Or are you among the bandwagon of people that think Africans had no history nor stories of conquests, wars and archaeological masterpieces before the Europeans came to decimate the continent.

My Brother, Your ancestors did not just appear out of nothing. If you are an inquisitive entity, you should be trying to research on what they were doing, how they were living, and all the history that they had made before the europeans came, destroyed your heritage and looted all your cultural and artistic heritage to their lands.

This is the same thing the Romans (italians) did at Israel. Destroyed, enslaved and looted all their laws, library of knowledge, inovations and culture and remodelled it to be the european culture, before then...the europeans were nobody, they have no culture. They were mostly a bandwagon of uncultured barbarians living in the wild and acted in the most uncivilized manner. (i used the word 'mostly' here because some parts of europe especially rome had early civilization but not earlier than african or middle eastern civilization). But at least the Jews were inquisitive, sought to know the truth and found the truth. But we here in Africa have not only been conquered physically and environmentally. The europeans have conquered us mentally and made us believe we are useless and were nothing before they gave us an identity.

Most agonizingly, over the centuries...we have failed to rise up from this sober state of mental conquest but instead defend our conquerors and the slavemasters that have been put in charge of maintaining their stronghold on Africans. Nigerians, Africans...READ YOUR HISTORY!!!

Rise up and free yourself from this mental slavery, make aggressive research and you will know the truth about your geneaology.

When Omoyele Sowore called for #RevolutionNow and was ready to put his own life at risk, you people form the East said "It is a Yoloba problem".
When he was arreste by the junta of Buhari, you guys were jubilating as usual and wish he rot in the DSS Cell.

Now, IgboAmaka don dey see red for Buhari hand, you suddenly remembered the bolded in your statement? shocked shocked undecided

That is why they say, if you keep quiet whnen they come for your neighbour, the day they will come for you, no one will shout.
If we dont unite against this Govt and keep pointing fingers at others, due to tribalism, the Govt will move closer and closer until they feed on everyone
You cant be autonomous, until you Unite, History shoudl have taught some of you this simple lesson, a long time ago.

Bros i'm doing pretty well for myself, i'm not dependent on govt money nor did i think buhari's govt will favour me in anyway. Though i'm not as rich as the elites that own multiple plots in banana island, I've been able to help a lot of people here on Nairaland with cash transfers during the time of lockdown. I can just sit down, live my private life and not speak out, but ive always chosen to speak against ills in the society.

Now to your post; Did you see me antagonize sowore when he wanted to organise the protest? In-fact, it was YOUR OWN PEOPLE that mostly snitched on him. Ive always been an ardent critic of the Buhari maladministration, i had warned of the impending doom to come but people didnt listen. Check through my posts and see me campaigning for youths to read their history, so as not to make mistakes of old.

You're obviously quoting the wrong guy in all ramifications.

If i would follow your thought pattern, i should be the one blaming the southwesterners for vilifying MNK, celebrating his incarceration and the murder of his followers when he kick-started the campaign for Nigeria's dissolution. But that is a very childish way of handling the issues at hand. There is no need crying over spilt milk, now isn't a time for trading blames, all regions of this contraption have faulted one way or the other and have contributed to this mess.

Now is the time to right wrongs and move to do the right thing and secure the future of our generations to come. The dissolution of the contraption is the path that leads to the solution for our age-long problem. It is a collective responsibility for us all to champion this cause to its success.

nah. For dissolution to happen, there has to be a catalyst. Much likely revolution. But in Nigeria, revolution will not lead to dissolution. Best likely a change in government
The catalyst is there already, its the chemicals in the solution that are slowing down the speed of the catalyst's reaction.

In a normal society with normal people, all these anomalies besieging the nation are enough to spark a riot. But Nigeria is a very peculiar case study, in the sense that we all habour all these thoughts in our minds but when someone rises up to the occasion, Nigerians shut him/her down due to tribal differences or for the fact that a relation is benefitting peanuts from the evil in the land.

Until we are fully ready to be autonomous, we may continue to suffer for generations to come.

I can't say I agree the the union is the problem... we still have fundamental issues as a people... it's not like our Senators for Anambra or Imo are saints, or we don't have corruption within the state legislature. Also don't forget that the United Kingdom is made of 4 tribes (English, Welsh, Scots, and Irish), and they seem to have figured out how to make a union work. Same as China, Netherlands, Serbia, Spain and many other countries with multiple large ethnic groups.
It is far easier to address the fundamental human issues as a people from a single lineage with one voice than addressing these same issues as a forced union of different individuals with diverse interests, different voices and different political inclinations. One voice maybe clamouring for something but the other voices may not be in support, as such there may not be any significant development nor would any voice be heard.

Dissolution of the country is a means to an end. After we can do that, we then know that we solely are in charge of holding our various leaders to account without infractions from other tribes who may not see things from your view point. Every tribe would learn to manage his people and society in the way he/she deems fit for their cultural background.

It is easier for a nuclear family to manage its affairs but when it becomes a polygamous extended family which is not united by blood, conflicts must be abound.

Unfortunately, dissolution will not solve the problem. The bad eggs in your individual tribes will not go any where. Only a revolution will.
Dissolution is a means to an end. Revolution is an offshoot of dissolution.
Some people are actually comfortable with the current state of things while some others are not. The comfortable ones tend to drag the others backwards and scutter any plans for revolution.
With dissolution, any group that wants to kick-start a revolution within its confines can do so without troubling others that may be comfortable with the spate of affairs. Its simply a case of "to your tents oh israel".

These types of duties and other charges, taxes and levies is what will give whatever country you eventually find yourself the funds needed to run the type government you desire , people pay all these things overseas but Nigerians don't want to pay it YET marvel at the wonders these charges create abroad makes me wonder if NIGERIANS really want this country to progress
My brother, you failed to include that Nigerians have been paying all these "charges, taxes and levies" for 60 years with absolutely nothing to show for it.

The three basic nessessities of life (food, clothing and shelter)which the govt. should at least give a helping hand on, are provided SOLELY by the citizens. We build and maintain our roads ourselves, we drill borehole ourselves (and still pay tax on it slf), we bear the full brunt of housing costs, plus the high cost of running a buisness talkless of healthcare and other basic infrastructure we provide ourselves. On top of that citizens still try to be patriotic and pay their taxes in the midst of all these challenges and what do they get in return?

More multiple taxation at insane rates.

Officials 'fainting' when called to account for funds.

Ridiculous allegations laid against Monkeys and snakes by public officials saying that animals swallowed huge sums of money amounting to billions.

Govt. Complexes going up in flames when called for accountability.

An increase in the flamboyant lifestyle of lawmakers, govt. Officials and federal agencies.

They and their children even rubb their ill gotten wealth in the face of struggling Nigerians and shame them for being poor. What then is the end result? A quick surge in crime rates, all round spike in national corruption index, vilifying of honest labour, encouragement of dirty crime ridded jobs (as long as it brings money).

See ehn, the countries abroad which you quote did a whole lot to help their citizens (and even foreigners) during this covid mess. Why then do you think their citizens would not be very happy to keep on paying taxes.

If you come and borrow huge sums of money for me 1st, 2nd and 3rd time in the name of managing my property and i dont see any tangible work done, neither can you defend what you used the money for. Do you think i will ever answer you when you come again?

Ponder on these points ive raised and reply, thanks.

I ask pro Nigeria agitators these questions all the time,

"Do you think your country cares for you?"
"What do you currently benefit from your country?"
"Can you die for your country?"

The Nigerian government makes it extremely hard for citizens to live above poverty level. Always trying at all cost to squeeze the last drop of money from its citizens (that it offers little or no helping hand). When other nations are looking for ways to help cushion the drastic effect of the Covid 19 aftermath, your beloved country is making things harder for the people trying at all costs to survive. Of course, this would lead to an increment in house rents.

As Chinua Achebe would say, "There was a country".

You built a house on your own without govt. loans or assistance. (after settling omo nile plus corrupt govt. Officials for a land you legally bought), you decided to rent it out at a meaningful rate but the govt. Still wants to make huge profit from your own rent again.

Truly, Nigerians and their buisnesses thrive to survive not because of their government but "in spite" of their government. Imagine a country where the dream and vision of a majority of its youths is to get a visa and move out permanently sometimes even to poorer nations.

Clearly, this union isn't working, It is a civic duty for us all to clamour for the dissolution of this contraption, so we can all manage our resources to the best of our abilities as different tribal groups.

What of in the case where the mother also brings in money for the house, has busy working hours also like the man and still finds time to spend with the children?

The issue is not time. When something matters to you, you will make time for it.

Does your work take up ALL your time? No time at all to hang out with friends, watch soccer, press phone. Or you are working Monday till Sunday from dusk till dawn?

How come mums don't give these excuses. My relative that has been a banker for over 20 years is closer to the children than her husband that has flexible work hours. Time is not the issue.

It's not about time at all. It's personal. It is interest. As long as it is important to you, you will make out time. It is not rocket science.
This might be a long write-up but id try to relay my points in the best way possible.

This thing is a natural bonding instinct, if you've ever raised domestic any set of domestic animals (Poultry, Cats, Dogs, Goats, even pests like rats) or watched NatGeo wild/Animal planet you would notice that the younger animals whether male or female ALWAYS bond better with their mothers.

The Male parent nevertheless bothers himself more about protecting the family and defending their territory, maintaining peace and order amongst the family and disciplining the young ones when they want to go astray.

That doesn't mean that he does not spend time with his wards, he just doesn't devote all his time to that else they would be attacked, he would lose his territory, his children maybe killed and his wives be taken over by the ravaging alpha male (the female counterparts would mostly choose the more dominant, stronger and fiersome male for protection in both animal and human environments).

All these happen even though in the case of lion, most birds and other canivorous/herbivorous mammals the Female parent is tasked with providing food for the family/the young ones.

As it is with animals, so it is with Humans. Nature doesn't change its standards. I'll finalize by giving insights on an experimental study made using complete elephant families from the Amboseli National park, Kenya and another set of elephants (orphaned or without male parents) in Pilanesberg National Park, South Africa.

The young elephants in the kenyan elephant colony were stable, grew up maturely and didn't display any abnormal tendencies that were unlikely for elephants their age. Whilst the elephants in the south african park who were either orphaned or without fathers grew up to be very unruly, exhibited abnormal hyper-aggressive behaviour that led to the killing of about 107 rhinoceroses over a period of 10 years. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3874604/

You can now see the link between these animal behavioural pattern and that of humans. One of the chief reasons why there are so much social misfits in the world of today is majorly because of the rise in single parenting and orphaned children. These inturn grow up to wreak havoc upon the society later on and cause more anarchy which continues to increase and increase as generations go by.

Nature has its order, it has its premeditated role for the male and female parent. When one entity is missing out of the equation or roles get switched, it creates an imbalance which shows forth one of its result in the social disruption of the children. This is my take on the issue.

Boys don't appreciate their father under they become a father themselves. The man is expected to takes care of his wife, kids, in law, siblings, parent, cousins, nieces etc depending on his financial ability. You think the money to provide all those comfort will come from siting at home and forming bonding with child. Bonding with kids only works when the job allows.
If you want to know the relevance of fathers, look at homes without one and see how miserable the life of the woman and kids are most of the times. Many of the fatherless girls get pregnant very young while the boys drop from school to go and learn a trade because there is no dad to provide.
Also look at girls that dump new born babies because there is no man to provide for her and the baby. You do not know the value of a man until he either walks away or dies. My mum still misses my dad's contribution to running the home they built together even though he died 14 years ago and all her kids are grown up.
You have spoken wisely and said it all, there is nothing much for me to add.

Every full born Igbo man has the dna of Freedom and enlightenment enshrined inside of him and it manifests itself in the drive for independence from 'handout givers' and self-determination from a corrupt and dysfunctional society.

You lot just come out and nonchalantly spew gibberish like ignoramuses which you rightly are. Did you make any research whatsoever on the claims made by IPOB? Have you for once asked your 'Igbo' Grandfather about the history of the Igbos before colonial conquest? Do you just gulp down all the fables your conquerors tell you that "you fell out of the sky" and you were nothing before they gave you an identity?

You should think, make research and enlighten yourself before coming in the public to speak about any issue you have no understanding of.

It is Christians like you that distort the tenet of God!
May I tell you that in Nigeria, even thiefy politicians pay tithe. I mean, there are politicians who pays 10% on their shady deals to the pastor they look up to, yet the money the tithe was taken was meant for, let us say, healthcare development, or road infrastructure. Is this acceptable to God?
I have realised that most Nigerians are ignorant and too weak for the truth. When you tell them the truth, they take it as a lie.
If tithing is so important as you and other pastors emphasize on it, God Himself would have used His own Hand to include it in the 10 commandment. But it is not there.
God doesn't curse or deject His children because they don't give Him money that He doesn't spend. He only command us to love Him and others. The money you give to the Church goes toward its works and the needy. You don't have to pay tithe to Love God. God bless you
Please tell them!! They would never want to hear the truth. The people called "Nigerian Christians" can be very docile and lazy to read the Bible which they claim to be their religious book. Only when we all come to know and accept the truth, then we shall be set free by Elohim.

I am not saying that you are secured financially if you pay your tithe. I am looking at it from the obedience point of view. if you find it difficult to obey God by giving God ten percent of your income, then you will find it difficult to fully obey God.
You are not Giving God any freaking 10% you are enriching one con man somewhere who decieves and swindles you off your money.

If you want to Give back to God, go to the hospitals and pay bills of people who cant afford to, Go and pay for the bail release of unlawfully conscripted prisoners, go and support orphanages, sponsor poor families to get small buisness that will break them out of poverty line, and send the wards which are wasting away to school.

You will see the bountiful blessings of Good health and unending happiness that will flow in your life afterwards.

It is written in the bible, "in as much as you do these to the least of the brethren, you do these also to me". Are these not the kind of things Jesus would have done?

Elohim is not a human that has accounts littered here and there. He does not wear gold, does not eat human food and does not live in human made houses, Even his Son Jesus whim he sent as a messiah to liberate us from the shackles of sin and everlasting death didn't ride horses and chariots when he was on earth, he didnt wear long flowing purple robes nor did he or his followers rob the rich or poor of their belongings in the name of 10%.
Whenever a follower of Christ sold a piece of land, got a lot of profits from a buisness or wanted to donate funds, HE BROUGHT IT TO THE CONGREGATION OF BELIEVERS and it WAS SHARED EQUALLY AMONG ALL so that there was no rich nor poor among them. This was one of the reasons they were called 'Christians' in Antioch. The people of antioch said to themselves, "see how they love one another".

STOP FUNDING THESE CON MEN'S FLAMBOYANT LIFESTYLE. They are only after your money, that's all. When they get enough, they use these same funds to open multiple buisness centres (churches) that bring forth more revenue to them. They do not serve YHWH Elohim nor are they followers of his Son Yeshua ha mansiach (Jesus Christ). They are wolves milking the poor dry and promising them paradise in heaven (which they are not going to enter). Use your heads people!!!

Church is the most lucrative buisness in Nigeria atm, you dont need much capital, just N1000 bible will do. You just have to learn how to deceive people and tell them what they want to hear and in the long run.....obtain fetish powers from magicians, that's all. You'd be a billionaire (and you wont even have to pay tax on the massive profit returns).

True followers of God ought not to be fed with milk, you all should start eating solid food by now. GO AND READ YOUR BIBLE!!!!! Pray to God for Wisdom and insights before doing so and he would unravel the mysteries that lie therein. Go and research on the books that were taken out of the bible, read them and you will see why the europeans (who destroyed Israel, carted away all the holy scrolls and modelled God, his Son and all his servants on earth to be 'white, european looking people) did what they did just to be called the 'supreme race'.

After doing all these, you will see that there is a huge difference between the followers of God in the Bible and the "Buisness men, their slave controllers and the slaves who have refused to reason" kind of religion being practiced today.
