franchasng: I shudder at the illogic of your ramblings. First off, no billionaire is self-made! Musk? OK, why didn't he become a billionaire in South Africa? Bill Gates? Ever heard of the IBM coup? I could go on and on, but no. You only need one book. Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. Comment again after you've read it... On a second thought, your propensity to dish out useless propaganda can only be matched with your rank jealousy. You must be leading a bitter life. Learn to pray for opportunities to become half as great as Dangote. Shalom. 3 Likes |

Agriculture / What Agricultural Business Should I Invest My Inheritance Of N3 Million? by Igboeze90: 5:31pm On Sep 09, 2018 |
Hi Nairalanders, I just received, as part of my inheritance, a cash amount of N3 million. I need expert advice on what is the best farming business to start in Nigeria right now. Caveats: *No eBook nonsense *No export guide nonsense (I want to do the farming, satisfy the local market, then venture into export during the scaling phase of my business) *No scams and fraudulent marketing gimmicks. I do need inputs of experienced farmers. Thanks a bunch as you educate a hungry soul. |

redflame: I would have completely ignored, but your treachery can only be matched with your wickedness and willingness to misinform. Was Azikiwe Road constructed by Ikpeazu? Bro, please project what Ikpeazu has done, which is rebuild only Brass to Faulks road. I spent over 25 years of my life in Aba, and I do know that Azikiwe and Okigwe road were constructed by Dee Mbakwe. Please present only the facts. Only the facts, please!!! I am enjoying this thread. Truth burns. |

Career / Re: My Course Of Study And Reality – Modern Trends In Remaining Relevant by Igboeze90: 10:29pm On Nov 05, 2017 |
What an eye-opening topic! I'm a graduate of biochemistry(in saner climes, I would have said, "I'm a biochemist). I graduated as the 2nd best student in 2014.(I was 22). Fast forward to 2017, the only thing I can do is teach secondary school biology or chemistry, because there are no industries to engage me. So, I'm planning to switch. I think I will settle for a career in accounting, after I have written and passed ICAN, though. I'm switching not because I love accounting, but because a man must find a way to keep alive. Teachers are paid peanuts. Accounting is the only way to get to the top of the corporate word in Nigeria. Especially in Nigeria. As an aside, I think biochemistry should be included in the list of soon-to-be extinct courses as well. Students are being ripped off by universities that offer such courses. Other courses include: Library and Information science, Microbiology, agronomy, biotechnology, etc. |

joinnow: Bad? With the point you raised, I don't think so. You don't get it. Build a house? Money? These things are not why I left my comfort zone. If I had stayed on my job, in a few years I could build a decent house in Aba. I came to Lagos to discover myself, my purpose in life(that which I was born for). To break my circle of friends. To start a whole new life with new people I don't know. To battle for my bread, not to have it handed down to me, anymore. Sitting at home wouldn't offer me the luxury to do all that. Honestly, I don't know why I chose Lagos, and I don't know where all of this will lead. But this inspiring one liner from Steve Jobs lights up my road, this road not taken: You don't connect the dots looking forwards; you can only connect the dots looking backwards. 2 Likes |

Best thread ever! Quora means a lot to me and it has really changed my life. Nothing even comes close. My decision(s)? Quitting Facebook and WhatsApp Ever since I deactivated and uninstalled these two time wasters my life has been pruned of all anxiety and distractions. I can wake up, meditate, exercise and get on to do my task for the day. No sidetracking. Also, it has made me to grow at my own pace. No endless comparison. Life is best lived one day at a time. One task at a time. One activity at a time. Multitasking is a bitch. Leaving my comfort zone Two months ago, I left Aba for Lagos. I grew up on the fourth floor(an expansive three-bedroom flat)of my father's four storey building. There I had lacked nothing. All my sisters are married, and my mom lives with one of my sisters as permanent resident in the US. I use to teach in an elite school where I earned a decent salary. But I left all of that. And ran onwards to Lagos where I now sleep on the floor of a self-contained belonging to the friend of a friend. I'm looking for a job. My family is furious, but I have made a pledge to myself. I have made a conscious decision to never look back. My bridges I have set on fire; there is no going back. [Practicing Poverty I read on Quora of a magic principle to condition your mind to survive the most adverse conditions. How? By living on $1(#365 at today's exchange rate) daily. I have been doing this for the past 10 days. Not only has it let me save so much, it has also conditioned my mind for the worst. In summary, I have been radicalized by Quora, but this radicalization has helped me come to terms with the kind of man I will like to be: A man who succeeds or is self-made in spite of, not because of, his father's little wealth. I live for Quora! 9 Likes 1 Share |
Religion / Re: Emmanuel Obimma: "Father Mbaka Is Fake, He Gossips With Nnamdi Kanu's Name" by Igboeze90: 7:25pm On Sep 05, 2017 |
IPOB clowns are at it again. Their unhidden hatred for Mbaka will be their waterloo. You guys can go on with idol worshipping at Arochukwu. The shrine of your worthless chukwuabiama is still there. Go on and worship in peace. But to drag Fr. Mbaka into it will bring destruction to the already-existing decrepit shrine of chukwuabiama and the proposed temple Kanu wants to build. Brood of vipers! |

Mehn, I took that test on the 29th of August. It was actually something else. I think it was completely staged. Here is why. They let everyone apply. Doesn't matter if you studied an accounting-related degree or not. In the end, they included 45 advanced accounting and finance questions. Isn't that absurd? I think in all fairness the candidates for this position is already a concluded list. The process was just a charade, designed to make them look serious! My thoughts, though. You can share yours. 1 Like |

This news gladdens my heart so much. My alma mater is finally getting things right. Evil can only triumph for a while, but good always trumps it in the end. Prof. Otunta is showing exemplary and stellar leadership. EFCC and ICPC must go after Edeoga now. Corruption must be rooted out in our sanctuaries of learning first. For if the universities are corrupt, what will their products be? Akin to saying if gold rusts, what will iron do? God bless Nigeria! 1 Like |

azz19:Lol! Just 3 weeks and you're complaining. Yours Truly have been waiting for Audit AC since June. You need to take a chill pill, bro. With KPMG, patience is a virtue. Some are faster than others in the process. As an aside: I guess they are fillling up the numbers for AC. When they are done, I think "ACs" will start rolling out. My personal opinion, though. Don't take it as Gospel. 1 Like |
