aswani:What a load of bull'! You sit there and want to sell the incredulous yarn that Peter Obi had sleepless nights over some phantom 'groundswell of support for Tinubu in the South-East, and as a consequence plotted with LP to 'rig' the 2023 presidential elections in the region? I suppose next you'll be telling us that in 2023 'Ndigbo fervently believed Tinubu was the Lee Kuan-Yu whose coming was fortold and who would liberate Ndigbo from the shackles of marginalisation and injustice in Nigeria, and that yet another Yoruba should be President after OBJs 8 years because for Southern Nigeria na only una waka come, abi? Ndigbo who haven't smelt the position of president since 1966 should queue behind yet another Yoruba because we're 'daft and 3rd class citizens of Nigeria undeserving to produce president'? This is the knob of your 'argument' abi? Just why TF should i expect to trust to find the truth on a nairaland that's a cesspool of fake news, anti-Igbo trolling and bitching? Next you'll be advising me to go look for a virgin in a brothel! |
aswani:Just seen this! ![]() 'Cynthia Okeke rigged for Peter Obi and LP'!? You don't say!! |
Based on the criminality and malfeasance they engaged in for the 2023 elections, they're now feeling more confident and cocksure of their capacity to steal a Peter Obi candidates votes and rig the electoral process in 2027 when compared with a Atiku candidate! That's their thinking! Their computations and permutations are based solely on criminality, rigging and corrupting the entire electoral process from start to finish! |
gaskiyamagana:Dude, calm down! The ships are neither US flagged or owned! When Russia goes and bombs a US flagged or owned ship, then your argument would be tenable! |
IgOga:My sentiments too! US haters would believe any tale, no matter how far-fetched, if they feel it helps embarass the US! |
See how they framed the title just to try and make it look like Russia is 'hitting back at the US'! Were the ships US flagged ships or Ukrainian ships? The Us, especially under Trump, are no saints, but i'll prefer them over Russia or China any day! |
The only thing more repellent than a APC/Tinubu minion is a Igbo APC/Tinubu minion! |
givedemwotowoto:Bros, you don't know Nigerians! Any other country, i would have agreed with you....but not Nigeria! More so now that APC/Tinubu have successfully weaponised poverty! ![]() |
AMINDA:We go down the wrong analytical track when we base our analysis and permutations for 2027 presidential elections on the 'results' of 2023! More so when you consider Tinubu wasn't even president at the time! Is it now that he has INEC, the judiciary and state instruments of coercion all firmly in his pocket, as well as possessing keys to the national vault and controlling slavish, greedy, daft and mindless minions all strategically placed in most regions of the country....is it now that he has all this to his advantage that you feel 'votes' he will get in 2027 will be drastically reduced from the ones he got in 2023? Elections in Nigeria, especially since 2015, have never been about the triumph of the will of the people or winners emerging based on getting a preponderance of validly cast votes! It's all about in-your-face impunity, and we have seen this manifest in elections in states like Imo, Edo and recently Anambra! If the opposition is just banking on votes they expect to get at the ballot in 2027 and whatever safeguards they feel are in place to protect said votes, then it's apparent they still don't know the person they're dealing with! |
aworatak:They'd first have to be drugged before making the mistake of letting that guy in! |
alanto:Addressing the issue based on the question the OP asked, can you really say crude oyel has benefitted Nigerians from the time it was discovered and exploited in Oloibiri till date? Especially when you consider the average Nigerian side-by-side with the average citizen of Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia or Quatar! The average Nigerian would tell you the discovery and exploitation of crude oyel in Nigeria is a curse! At least with palm oil, it's beneficial when you're faced with the prospects of preparing a pot of soup! |
happney65:There is no Igbo that will cheer over the death of anyone at the hands of marauding sahelian terrorists! We also have been victims of these scum....and our own started way back from the 50s, peaked in 1966, and continues to this day! What some may want to call 'abusing' or 'cheering' is just some Igbo saying 'we told you so....we warned you on the dangers of getting in to bed with the devil either because of lust for power and the access to the federally-enabled wealth that comes with it, or because you want to deal with Ndigbo and get one over them in national politics'! What you see happening, not just in the south-west but all over Nigeria, has its roots in Tinubus' earlier scheming pre-2015 with Buhari to snatch power at any cost....power they were ill prepared to wield wisely, altruistically, and to the benefit of ALL Nigerians! What you see happening today is the chickens coming home to roost! |
OredoPikin2:You're replying a embittered and rabid Igbo-hating bigot! His type always look for even the slightest opportunity to have a rant against a people who don't give a fck about him, but you'll never find him supporting any secessionist effor so he can be rid of his problem for good and keep Nigeria for himself! |
Igbophobia:I see where you're coming from, but i think the primary motive that drove the wicked British gov't of the time was that of economic self-interest....the the fact that they had transferred control of Nigeria over to the Fulani hegemony to hold in trust for them, and were then obliged to support and advice them againts the Biafrans/Igbo! It was the support the British gave the Gowon led Nigerian gov't that was the primary determinant in them 'winning' the war! The UK gov'ts desire to see their most viable economic asset in Africa survive intact as they left it in 1960 can also be seen and understood when you consider that the war began only 7 years after they left Nigeria, so the same gov't hawks, colonial rascists and business buccaneers that would have been involved in colonial affairs pre 1960 would have still been in and around gov't at Whitehall and Downing Street as at the time the war began and lasted! So it comes as no surprise that the UK gov't of the time would have been on the side of the agressors! |
Ebonyi and Imo are almost non existent on the pie-chart? You'd need a magnifying glass to see them! |
Nastrademus:Exactly! Political parties where he doesn't have active or sleeper cells, he will just take advantage of the selfish and greedy nature of the average Nigerian politician to co-opt (some may even say corrupt) new apostles into the emilokan movement! Abure wasn't always like this you know? ![]() |
Hehehehehe ![]() That was fast! ![]() |
Nobleou:Funnily enough, Sonny Okosuns asked the exact same question more than 40 years ago! |
Mabuggi88:That Eke-Obinagu flyover looks rough, ugly and local....a far cry from the kind of jobs a Julius Berger delivers! Compare the rough finishing of that project to the big-ticket projects the APC under Buhari and Tinubu build or enable in their own regions: coastal road; trains and stations; airport terminals; seaports; gas pipelines; etc! The APC gov't since Buhari (which in fairness has done more by way of road construction in the south-east than PDP ever did in 16 years) has spent forever on that Enugu-Onitsha expressway, and it's still not finished! But see how fast they move when it comes to the coastal road or AKK gas pipeline....projects that we woke up one morning and heard they've already found billions of dollars for! So is the OP saying that all those kobo-kobo projects he listed up there would not have been done in Enugu if Peter Mbah didn't defect? If so, what does that say about Tinubu and his approach to inclusive governance after elections are over!? |
abuhusna1:Especially Nigerian politics since the arrival of APC in 2015! |
He's finally left the carcass of Labour party for the instigators and 5th-columnists within! Kinda reminds me of how Fubara finally left PDP for Wike and his thugs who're now left scratching their heads in confusion and wondering how next to proceed! |
Validated:I also predict that the evil wind that has been blowing in and around Labour party and PDP will become disinterested in formenting divisions, factions and katakata in those parties and turn its attentions on ADC! Watch as Labour party in particular dissappears into obscurity and irrelevance! After all, who brought the party to national prominence and helped them get the gains they got in 2023? Was it Abure and all the current selfish and power-hungry players in the party that Tinubu is now using to try and scuttle Peter Obis' chances in 2027? |
Riskymarvelous:Precisely! His type are rare in Nigerian partisan politics! He's polar opposites with the distateful likes of Uzodinma, Umahi, Uzor-Kalu, Kalu, Soludo and all the other desperate and power-hungry efulefu Igbo politicians! |
Christmyhope:Defect to that coven of witches for what!? Does Alex Otti look like one of your usual desperate, greedy and selfish politicians who're easily swayed, arm-twisted or enticed to join APC? You didn't hear him when he said recently that he's done with politics after his stint as Governor of Abia state? There's a reason why Tinubu, who was billed to visit Abia state, didn't bother going anymore.....even as he has gone to Enugu, Anambra and Imo states! I've always said that every move he makes has undertones of politics! |
Can you really blame anyone for wishing to secede from Nigeria once it dawns on them that they're actually 'compatriots' with a jihadist and medieval-minded character like this Gumi!? And the scary thing is that there are hordes of likeminded fellas all over the north that reason just like him! ![]() |
gidgiddy:The responses of these vile Igbo-hating bigots on here is a pointer to the actual purpose of trying to assasinate a Igbo Rev Fr in Igboland/south-east...esp' at this point in time! Join the dots and you'd see what they're aim is regarding: the US and trying to modify their views on insecurity in Nigeria; Kanu/IPOB and the secession effort; and finally, trying to heighten the spectre of (engineered) insecurity in the south-east....a region that's home to a people they despise with passion and who they see as 'inferior'! Why would a Igbo or group of Igbo pick up their guns, load them with bullets, then set out under the cover of darkness to go and cowardly target their own kinsman for assasination....a Rev Fr for that matter!? I mean, what can we say they were aiming to achieve? Has it EVER been in our character to target innocents (our own kinsfolk) to kill in cold blood? How come this 'crime' some are so desperate to now link with Ndigbo, Kanu, IPOB and the bid for secession, only began AFTER the arrival of Buhari in 2015....specifically AFTER he rushed to tag IPOB as 'terrorists'!? As Judge Judy would say....'if it doesn't make sense or add up, it's usually not true'! We're being forced to share the same country with extremely evil people, and even as we know what we are known and not known for, we still have to be on our guard....especially over this festive period, and especially with what's happening at the moment with the US targeting terrorists in the north! The enemies of Ndigbo will try to give a false narrative with staged false-flag operations in the south-east in their bid to try and support their argument about insecurity and the targeting of christians in Nigeria, as well as their argument on Mazi Kanu, IPOB and their 'justification' for cheering the life sentence handed to him by Omotosho and the puppeteers pulling his strings! For so long as we share the same country with two groups in particular, we should just have it in mind that we can NEVER be safe and secure! |
sweetTai:Hehehehe ![]() You mean the very same Ambassador Trump don already recall!? ![]() |
kettykin:Hehehehe ![]() I see you forgot to include Umahis' Ebonyi! ![]() |
gidgiddy:What drives them generally is the pure evil state of their black hearts and their hatred for the Igbo! In this case though, they're specifically driven by a sick desire to try and demarket the south-east this festive period! As well as being APC acolytes, they're 99% from one specific region/ethnicity! |
OKOATA:It then begs the question of why nairaland and a certain mod that's quick to ban certain category of monikers have left this fake news on this section for hours now, and why they haven't banned the OP for ten years like was done to one of my former monikers! |
ExplorerReturns:True dat! I've always argued that Anambra and Abia have no business lagging behind Enugu in IGR receipts. Of course no one is advocating for over-taxing of residents and businesses, but it's obvious the two aforemntioned states are yet to figure out a way of getting all taxable adult residents, homes and businesses in their tax nets and plug any leakages! |
