favor914:Look who's talking! Can we see the handover notes and financial standing of the Lagos state gov't when your godfather handed over to Fashola? |
MASTAkiLLAh:Precisely! Those cretins are on a mission, and there's NOTHING you can say that will make them see reason! |
SeeWahala:Abia is a south-east state....Otti is not in NDC, ADC or even in their demonic party APC, all this yet they're obsessed and focused on Otti and his governance in Abia state. You can bet their obsessive interest isn't out of concern for Ndigbo and good governance in Abia state! A truly evil bunch of misfits! |
Streetinvestor2:Walahi! |
Flangelo12:An expected daft and sanctimonious statement from the usual suspects! Who are the 'themselves' you're sitting on your high horse to admonish!? |
Racoon:Good a thing some of them wear pampers then! ![]() |
WENGERNOMICS:Hehehehehe ![]() Talk about blatant...in-your-face rigging! They took the bull by the horns and went for broke with the 2023 elections in Lagos state! Regarding your last sentence, they may be able to get away with it in their own south-west home-turf....minus Lagos owing to its multi-ethnic/cosmopolitan demographics! But the key to whether they can get away with it nationally and steal the next election, like they stole the last one, lies with the core north! I mention the core north as the key in all this because Tinubu and his gang can't try it in the south-east, south-south and large parts of the middle-belt! If the core north wants to stand for the truth and ensure A FREE, FAIR AND TRANSPARENT ELECTION, then it's curtains for Tinubu....no matter the malfeasance he gets away with in his own region! Something tells me next time around the core north will not tolerate being taken for a ride, and will demand votes count! If validly cast votes in their region favor Tinubu, then so be it, but no rigging should be tolerated as no one is anyone else's slave! |
FSBoperator:Get a life mate! Daily display of bigotry, envy and bile is not a life worth living! You're pathetic!! |
Melagros:How will he and his business partners make their billions if they did it the way you suggest? |
sultanofpigs:You don't know who you're dealing with! That fella and his ilk are quite prepared to throw the Itsekiri under the bus if that would guarantee the Igbo they despise are limited to just 'your 5 south-east states'! ![]() |
DrAda:Hehehehehe ![]() That means you wouldn't miss him then! |
Bigkoko:Truly disgraceful! It lends credence to what Peter Obi said a few weeks ago...that notable friends and associates are terrified of being seen with him or inviting him for occasions because they don't want to incur the wrath of Tinubu and his cabal! Just imagine the depths Nigeria has sunk to! Even as despotic as the military regimes were, things were never this bad! |
TheStoriesOfMan:It's lost on the fella that he's actually discrediting the appointments and actions of the efulefu lackeys loyal to his emilokan master! Does he actually think Ndigbo have unfettered control of this sedc nonsense to warrant him blaming us for its apparent failure? It's akin to blaming Ndigbo for actions and inactions of imposed governors like Uzodinma and Nwifuru! |
dgitrader:My cynicism over the announcement of the formation of this sedc has proven to be justified! I had said 'MARK my words, nothing will come of it', and i've been proven right! This one will eventually go the way of all the other gimmicks and schemes the federal gov't (esp' undr APC) have used to give the impression they're 'fair and inclusive' of all regions and spreading development all round the country at a frenetic pace! |
TimeManager:'Mr Lamba', as you call him, delivered and articulated his arguments INTELLIGENTLY and COHERENTLY, and if you feel reeling out a few figures and statistics in a debate is 'overloading the brain' then that's a sad reflection on your own mental capacity and understanding of what a debate on the economy should entail! So he stumbled a bit during his delivery....AND SO WHAT!? Even if Peter Obi had delivered his responses like a robot, i suspect that still wouldn't be enough for your sort as you despise the man for daring to challenge your godfather for a position you feel is his right as per emilokan things! Dude, if you've ever taken part in a debate in front of a audience, you would know it's a whole different vibe compared to sitting down for a quiet interview next to a friendly interviewer who's probably already furnished you with the questions before hand! And don't get me started on Tinubu and mics, because that's one discussion that'll leave you diving for cover! |
Racoon:Wike is a suited thug....short and simple! There's a reason why he and Tinubu get on well together, and why Tinubu gave him the upper hand in his fight with Fubara...and also made him FCT minister! He wants Wike to replicate in the FCT in 2017 the same 'magic' he did in Rivers state in 2023! |
obailala:Bros, it's hilarious! I guess they're just doing what they were instructed to do, because it's not lost on discerning observers the irony of Tinubu minions having the temerity to laugh at a Peter Obi for making a brief mistake in a unscripted speech! |
Didijiji:Voodoo economics at its finest! All this 'wonderful' things have been happening to the economy, yet Nigerian individuals, families and businesses are feeling worse off now than at any point since the return to so called 'democracy' in 1999! The bottom-line indicating improving economic conditions should be: better value of the currency, translating to better capacity of individuals and businesses to afford goods and services; more jobs and less jobs losses; less borrowing of foreign loans; infrastructural/investment rebirth IN ALL REGIONS OF THE COUNTRY and not just the south-west/Lagos; etc-etc-etc! Is this presently the case? You don't bang on about how you're giving more money to states because of removal of subsidy and tout that as a 'achievement', when in actuality states are now receiving less money in real terms than they received before you arrived with your yeye hope agenda! |
Vision101:'Tinubu is high' would have been enough! |
Racoon:You just have to wonder! All that money swanning around, yet not a single arrest and prosecution for financial crime! If they spent that much for Osun, we're probably looking at $4 billion or more for next years elections! |
Sounds plausible! |
Something i've come to appreciate watching YouTube clips of African countries is that the infrastructure, order, neatness and greenery of their capitals are usually a window into assessing the level of their economic and societal/attitudinal development as a people and as a country. I'm sure all of you reading this will agree with me when you watch the following clips of the four cities i've selected for this comparative assessment: Addis-Ababa, Luanda, Abuja and Lagos. Guys, i'm sorry to say this, but Nigerian cities have been left behind and have a lot of work to do to even come close to cities of our African peers! And it's even more worrying when you consider that we're supposed to be the Giant of Africa, and that these other countries are ranked 3rd world countries just like we are. Try and find time (and data even) to watch these clips. You could be forgiven for thinking Luanda and Addis are cities in the US or Western Europe! You get a sense of order, calmness and appreciation for greenery/landscaping the level of which you don't see in our own cities...especially Lagos. Abuja is trying small in this regard, but that Nigerian attitudinal factor and 'anyhowness' is gradually seeping into the city and its turning out to be a uphill task whipping everyone into line! I'm sure Wike will agree with me on this! Lagos has some oasis' of sanity and order, but these are found mainly is a few highbrow spots like Ikoyi, Victoria Island, VGC, etc! The generality of Lagos suffers from the same problem afflicting the rest of the country! The only other city outside of Lagos and Abuja that i can say is trying a bit is Uyo! Every other major Nigerian city like Kaduna, Enugu and Ibadan have only their highbrow GRAs as places you can show to the rest of the world and still have your pride intact. We really need to pull our socks up! One other thing i've noticed is that, even as Luanda and Addis are capitals of 3rd world countries like Nigeria, you don't see the agberos, touts, hawkers, beggers, miscreants and all those petty businesses that set up shop under umbrellas on the sides major streets of our cities. They're virtually nonexistent in these cities, and it baffles me why it's only in Lagos, Abuja and other Nigerian cities that you see these 3rd world markers! I think what we're seeing with this comparative analysis is the result of more than half a century of mis-governance in Nigeria coupled with being too 'smart' for our own good! But then again, some may argue that Angola and Ethiopia have also had their own issues with bad governance and civil wars (remember Dos-Santos daughter is being accused of corruption), so why is our own case different? Saturnalia:Dude, keep quiet! No Igbo is celebrating or hero-worshipping any stupid kinsfolk convicted of drug trafficking or who forfeited funds to Nigerian or foreign gov't as part of a plea bargain in a drugs trial! Also, no Igbo is so self-centered, wicked and devoid of moral scruples to point of trying to force such a discredited person on other Nigerians as president! Was your expectation that Igbos' should fall in and give traction to useless trolling threads created by Igbo haters who spend all day hunting for negative news relating to Ndigbo at home or abroad just so they can rush to Nairaland to create threads and engage in their usual self-righteous anti-Igbo wankfest!? I think you'll find the general sentiment of Ndigbo is that any kinsfolk stupid enough to engage in drug related crimes, should have the book thrown at them! Taking such characters out of circulation is even beneficial to the Igbo as a ethnic group as it helps cleanse the gene-pool of the daft and criminally minded! |
valentineuwakwe:Hehehehehe ![]() They don't call him a 'sophisticated political strategist' for nothing you know? ![]() |
Racoon:Bros, you forgot to add perjury! The baggages that man is dragging along with him are enough to sink the Titanic! |
maivd:Quit trying to be sneaky and clever-by-half! The problem i see with your emilokan/hegemonic/'one-Nigerianist' sort is that you actually think you've been smart in all your actions and inactions from the late 60s to date! But the reality of the shithole country WE ALL live in today tells a different story altogether! Your sort are prepared to lie, betray, cheat, sabotage and do just about anything it takes just so the favored elite group to which you belong, in partnership with your northern allies, can continue to control and milk the resources and opportunities of a 'one Nigeria' majorly for the benefit of your politicians, entrepreneurs, traditional rulers, clerics and your regions, while everyone else, including the ethnicity in the east that you despise, are relegated to scrambling for any crumbs you deign to throw down to them from the high table! Your winner-takes-it-all mindset typifies EXACTLY what is wrong with the black African and why they have struggled to progress as a race ever since the white man left them to their own devices in the 60s! Only one intent on revisionism will read a different meaning into what Awo said! He wasn't drunk when he said if the Eastern region, whether by omission or commission, were allowed to leave, that the Western Region wouldn't bother staying behind to continue doing 'one Nigeria' with the North....that they would japa as well! He knew his position and the capacity/capabilities of the Western Region when he made that unfortunate statement, so don't bother trying decades later to give a different meaning to what was clearly stated and easily understood! The shocking thing is that he not only made that statement, but went on to support the North to frustrate the Eastern Region from leaving, thus sustaining the 'one Nigeria' WE ALL are 'enjoying' today! Does anyone think the North would have been able to handle a Eastern, Western and Mid-Western secessionist bid at the same time? Of course not! It needed for one or two of the three to sabotage the bid for the North to succeed! And you know something else.....given the centuries old interactions between the groups of Southern Nigeria and similarities in values and world-view (which was western oriented/tilted), it's not beyond the realms of possibility to suggest that, with the North gotten rid of, there could have been a re-coalescing together of the three to form a new Federation or Con-Federation! But as things stand today, and given the amount of water that's passed under the bridge, this isn't a possibility anymore! Given the benefit of hindsight, any honest assessment of Awos' choices in the late 60s would return a verdict that the wrong choices were made not only for his ethnicity and region, but for history books as well! Looking back, it's clear all principal actors during that period made errors, including my own Zik and Ojukwu, but the difference between you and i is that while i'm prepared to call my own out on the mistakes they made, you on the other hand have taken a position that Awo was infallible....probably just because you want to 'win' a argument on Nairaland! The statement that 'all is fair in war' is another unfortunate one! You can see similarities between Awo and Tinubu (the present leader of the Yoruba) in this regard! |
franchasng:The United Kingdom are evil neo-colonialists intent on sustaining their business enterprise that is 'one Nigeria'! Notice how their thinking and sentiments aligns with the allied hegemonic oppressors they supported with military logistics and advice to sustain Nigeria from 1967-70, and have subsequently supported ever since! Also notice how, unlike we see with the United States, the United Kingdom NEVER puts pressure on Nigeria to confront the murderous onslaught of the sahelian jihadists or holds the oppressive Nigerian state to account over accusations of human rights abuses or lack of transparency and accountability in governance! Besides the internal oppressors in Nigeria, the other biggest challenge we face as a people are the wicked British gov't! When last did you hear of Nigeria being discussed on the floor of the House of Commons? |
PulaPower:What a load of bull'! It's instructive how you got triggered enough to respond even when i never mentioned anyone or any ethnicity in particular! At what point in my previous post did you note me saying Ndigbo are a collective of saints or infallible to warrant you reeling out a few indiscretions or purported crimes of a handful of Igbo to support your dead argument? I'm struggling to see the point you're trying to make! Assuming, without conceding, all the 'crimes' you listed are proven and factual, are you saying the committing of those 'crimes' by a handful of Igbo (which can't total more than a hundred) 'justify' or vitiate the crimes of the Nigerian state against the Igbo? I'm assuming your own ethnicity has criminals within their ranks! If this be the case, would the targeted xenophobic and bigoted crimes against your people by a evil hegemonic state then be justified? |
