Yea...my story was that someone ( a senior staff) defrauded my then IT company. They found out he was the one and then because he was close to the company owner, they covered it all and made us took the fall for it. We asked the Nigerian Police to investigate and we pleaded our innocence, but they wouldn't have it. They moved us to SARS where we were locked up for a lengthy period of time. It wasn't a pleasant experience. While in there, my dad was running around to see i was freed, they refused to charge the case to court, they didn't and my dad fell ill and passed away. I didn't see my dad when he passed and was buried. I slipped into depression and it impacted me greatly. Eventually we were released after 2yrs and i wasn't myself. Had to move to my village for awhile to get over the trauma and it took me time. I left the IT industry cos it reminded me of so much. That's my story. Starting a new life here in the Uk, i consider going back into IT, but where do i start ? How do i focus without triggering my past trauma.

That's why I'm kind of struggling. Yea, that's my story. But I'm trying to see how best i can find a way back in if I'll fight to. And thanks to all for the contribution.

It is well with you. Just don't give up. 1600 is a decent pay. I know the uk gets to all of us with all sort of bills. But hang in there. Things will get better. I feel and share in your pain. And like everyone has encouraged you, don't give up. We will all get there.

If you come in and those in your circle quickly sorted their driving, mortgage, good jobs e.t.c. Those things would all of a suddenly become well achievable. Perception is everything.

For many, when it comes to getting on the housing ladder, schools, investments, pensions, job prospects e.t.c. it's largely dependent on what your clique has achieved.

I agree with you on this. It rubs off on you what clique you belong to.

How do I go about this? My current visa will expire next year February. (I already got a sponsorship with the NHS but my letter can. Only be given 3 months to my current visa expiry)

They send letters ? Gave birth in December and i never received such till date.

Stop cleaning, use mould spray to spray the affected areas, works like magic and cost about £1.

Dehumidifier works best in enclosed areas so even if you buy a bigger one, you will have to move it around and close where it's working.

I use that to atleast get rid of some and same time clean the stubborn ones even after spraying it.

I use my 12L for our 2bed. It’s just moving it around. To be honest, the areas with more moist are mostly bathroom and kitchen surroundings.

Our son’s room and the living room are on same wing separated with a door from the other side. Our room is close to kitchen and bathroom. So we have more moist in our room. Sometimes 1hr to 2hrs dehumidifies the living room and our son’s to below 60. While we run more hours in our room and the corridor connecting bathroom. Our target is a little below 60 (57-59) so that we don’t get the house too dry.

So yes, you can use for your 2bed, just move it around and maybe sort the areas with less moist first then spend the days on the area with more moist in the air.

Very very economical, some days we used dehumidifier instead of the heater early this year.

Makes sense, i tend to move our around also. I'll keep up with this as its efficient this way. Thought i could atleast position it in a spot where it could serve every rooms. But its less effective this way. Thanks for your input.

Reason for choosing this is because it does not only dehumidify but also purify the air and very low electricity consumption.

Una nor de fok? Funny as it may sound, but it is the truth. I don't know the cause of your quarrels though but I think if she say she doesn't like you ignoring her during such quarrels ...try to be the bigger person and don't ignore her. Never leave the house in anger or sleep over a quarrel. Sometimes just a hug and some knacks would resolve the whole issue. Also try to initiate moves to see the gynecologist if conceiving is an issue ...this is one of the causes of tension in newly weds. God bless your marriage.

Before I forget ...you guys should sign up to go see a professional marriage counsellor that is if you try playing the bigger person to resolve the issue doesn't work out. Think of what she loves best, order it and get it delivered to her at work or at home. Ladies love surprises. Try to knack too ...inside kitchen or where she least expect in the house ooo

Well i believe there are still some good ones among the lots. A friend here had issues in his marriage and they did alot to help counsel them. And they're still happily married till date.

Hi Elders,

Need urgent advice. Domestic Violence.

I’m male based in UK.
Wife and I have been having arguments/fights.
Things have gotten physically unfortunately.
I don’t initiate it.
She says I trigger her by being on my own when we quarrel about couple issues or when I’m with my phone. She’s told me to leave the house. When I come back at night to sleep or when I’m using my phone/laptop around her, she will come and disturb me and start struggling with phone etc. She has smashed my phone. She has fought with me. Things are so bad she will bring out knives and say I should just stab her or use it to hurt her since my silence is “emotional stabbing” to her.
Our physical struggles lead to bites, cuts etc. on each of us. I repeat, I keep running away or holding myself (absorbing slaps and knife pokes etc.)

Long story short, this has happened too much. At least 3 or more occasions. I no longer feel safe. I think we need to separate while things escalate to our families etc. for reconciliation/solution.

Challenge is:
- we are on Tier 2 visa. I’m main applicant, she’s spouse. We both work.
- newly weds, no kids
- shame of failed marriage etc.
- we share a flat. Our lease is up, we are just paying a rolling month on month. That can be cancelled with 30 days notice.

I need advice from Elders who have either experienced similar issues or know people that have. We bought have pictures of the injuries we inflicted to each other as ammunition if things escalate to police.

I’m really confused. Please help!!!

First thing first OP, find a safe haven. You should move out for your safety and hers as well. Then speak with some people that are close to you both for interventions. If you're a Christian, get the church elders and pastors involved, if muslim, get your alfas and imams involved. Also get a marriage counselor to speak with both if you. If it seems like its not going to work out, then file for a divorce. Its not worth losing your lives. Play the calm one to de-escalate whatever tension that's brewing in your home. I know this is a tough nut to chew as some spouses tend to turn beasts in human form when they move down abroad.

First BRP/First Child dependent visa for a child born in the UK, all that would be required is a UK BIRTH CERTIFICATE!!!!
Whatever happens for a child in a different circumstance is what does not concern me.
I have kids and all that were born here, nobody asked me for Nigerian passport first before getting visa. Pls. E reach to shout because you people are overdoing it. If you fill ur form and state there that all the child has is a UK birth certificate the form goes through for all children born inside this UNITED KINGDOM.

My child was born in the UK and this is not capping. This is me saying what i know and did to get his brp.

Thanks to everyone who has replied so far, one more question please. I didn't have to visit the UKVI centre for my biometrics when I renewed my visa last year and a couple of people I know as well used same app this year and recently as well.

However, for the kids there was no option of using online biometrics app, is this the norm? Do kids have to travel for visa biometrics within the UK?

You'll be asked to go to a UKVCAS center for capturing for your kid. No biometrics, just capturing

not for kids pls. This is clearly stated on the www.gov.uk website. No child born in the UK who is a dependent child would be asked for Nigerian passport inorder to apply for a visa. Adult- maybe. Child = capital NO.
This is not true as they are permitted to apply for leave to REMAIN with the UK birth certificate alone.

What lolo said is right. I went through this process last month. This is the new way. I had to take my child for capturing at UKVCAS and a passport was required as part of the process.

Having experience such as yours. The best thing for you to do is to get a tow van and move that car to a better technician. Count your loss and move on... people like that always end up messed up

If i may ask, how much was spent for this surgery? Decompressive Laminectomy i think that's what its called. Same surgery my aunt was asked to do.

They are very good in orthopeadics. Dr. Ogedengbe and his colleagues treated me when I had multiple fratures and also treated Buhari's son when he had that accident. I believe he returned to Nigeria to start the hospital.

* what is the average cost for a private gynaecologist?
* if I do private health insurance, will they fund visits to private gynae?
* the wait time for NHS gynae is quite long (around one and half year) am I better off going to Nigeria or another EU country?
* if you have used a private gynae, please refer with any information that may be useful.

I have a friend with similar situation. His wait time though is 9 months. This is crazy..she is considering going back to naija or check to see if she can go to any EU country but doesn't know how that works. Also, an aunt of mine back in nigeria needs spine surgery and knee replacement surgery, does anyone here have a knowledge on how one can get it done in either india or any reputable EU country that can give her a medical visa to get it done.
