But according to UK gov site, it's not necessary anymore. So where did you get yours from?
So I thought until i got here and most employers are requesting for covid-19 pass. Forget about what the site says, alot of business still sees covid-19 as a big deal. Some places like hospitals will ask u to put on your mask before they allow u in.

Besides, like i said.....qatar airline will ask for your vaccination card before allowing u check-in your flight and i am speaking from first hand experience. i don't know about other airlines

Please pardon me,
Is it compulsory to be vaccinated before you can travel or leave nigeria?
Well, speaking from my experience at the airport while trying to board qatar airline, they asked for your vaccination card and they scan the barcode.

Ha! am not vaccinated oooo!
you should try to be. cos those who claimed not to be vaccinated were asked to step aside from the line. Besides, here in the UK, if u intend to work, you would need a covid-19 pass to get some jobs. so either way, u still need to be vaccinated.

Has anybody taken Qatar Airways recently to the UK, was there any COVID test or vaccination thingy at Doha during the 1 stop?
No COVID test, but ensure you're vaccinated. They only asked about your vaccination before leaving Nigeria. After that, nobody would ask, not even in Doha. I used them last week

Well, it could have been faster if you picked the branch you opened your account.

I submitted my Form A this morning, picked the branch my friend is working as a cashier and I just got an email few minutes ago that my Form A has been Approved and waiting for Disbursement… That’s First Bank that people normally complain about their slow form A service. NB: I still got my maintenance fee from same First Bank few weeks ago and it was processed within 1 week….

These things can be at the speed of light if you know someone in the bank.
Oh.....I guess the mistake i made was because i used the headquarters instead of the branch i opened the account. I relied on someone that works at the HQ to help me speed it up, but he failed to do so and left me to my fate. Thanks for this info, i'll have to do another one.

Since on the 1st of April i have submitted an Application to pay my wife's school fees using Form A. Up until now 21st of April the stuff is still showing ADB_REVIEWER. Can someone help with a solution to move forward. I applied using my bank Keystone Bank via their headquarters.

Also, this is my second week in the uk as i got in last week monday 11th of April. I already have my brp and have applied for my NI and NHS. My personality being someone that don't just like sitting around, i went on job hunting using indeed and totaljobs. I was told to trash the nigerian style CV and opt for the UK styled one which doesn't really show much of my profile and work history. I kuku slim am down to little things i do. But i got to find out that all that doesn't matter. For UK here, dem get their own ways.

I was an ICT consultant back in Nigeria with knowledge in system engineering, software installation to mention a few. In my quest to have a change of life, including career. I decided to opt for a new career journey which is Business Analysts. I got connected to someone who offered to put me through tutorials that will help me land a better job after the brushing me up at a fee. Yet to start this tutorial, i went on the said sites above to search for Apprenticiship on Data Analyst, got an offer, but they asked i do something. Which i need to confirm from you guys if anyone has idea make i no go waste my time. I no come UK to spend plenty money, i came to make money and spend little. I was asked to get

Statement of Comparability

Nna, what is this ke. They stated on the job experience that no certification or experience whatsoever is needed. What is then this one that will cost me a set back of 50 pounds. I don dey spend money, when i never dey make money to find job. Guys, please i need your take on this. Which level, which way. Is there a group where i can learn more about this place without making my J.J.C obvious.

Besides, i don't mind anyone sending me templates of CVs that can fit in for me to work anywhere. Cos it seems all these my ICT experience i pack full my cv dey disqualify me from some Non-ICT jobs. And its not care.

Cybersecurity has become a slap it all for 'all' things security (information security). One thing I can say is the more you go deep, the deeper it becomes; needing varying skillsets to navigate.
Though you might not need a [u]licence[/i], in the true sense of it, however, you'll soon discover this thing the call security clearance. The more you look, the more you see different shades of 'em. They quickly become a stumbling block.
PS: talking of licence, the UK national cybersecurity strategy is seemly moving in that direction. The NCSC is not far-off

1.0 Look out for BCS, become a member and work things from there.
2.0 Get on board the CISSP bandwagon, starting with the CCSA (if that's what it's still called).
2.1Whilst at it, detour to ISACA for certification in CSX certifications, starting with cybersecurity fundamental, then CSX Foundation. Then, shoot for ISACA CSX Practitioner and (ISC)2 CISSP in one go.
I recommend this based on your 'profile', you've sketched. We've all been through the 'computer village'. At times, there's no other foundational grounding! That's discourse for another day.

In btw, you might want to go the networking route, then your path, though not strictly, would drift along the CCNA (or variants), CCNA security. However, ain't no stopping into CCIE.

By the way, there's this craze for data analytics/science/engineer. Maybe, might get your foot in the door faster than the two above. Dunno? However, the Python for data analytics is also essention for Networking these days.
Lemme step aside and allow the landlords speak to your matter. They have the insightfully insights.
This is quite interesting and an eye opener. Data Analytics like you mentioned is like the craze everywhere. I think you just awakened me to this area. I need to start brushing up on this while i await my NI. Make i go dey gather materials. |If anything to help a beginner like myself, i go appreciate am o. If anyone got more takes on what semmyk said, please help us wey be JJC for this land o.

For some jobs, I think clearance may be needed

Most will require said person to have spent a number of years in the UK, be a citizen or have ILR

More information can be checked online Sha
This is true. I was told that some license might be needed when you choose to work in some section of IT. Though not all employers requires such, but most of them do

I think you now need a license to be in the cyber security field but I'm not totally sure. I would advise that you go for something easier, you can try data analytics or front end web dev or any other IT path were the requirements for getting a job aren't so high
Thank you so much. I am open to options to make a living down here.

I greet you all in this section.

I just got into the Uk, manchester to be precise as a JJC with my wife studying masters here and also working.

I need all the survival tips i can get to make it down here. I am IT enthusiast and would like to work in that line. Though, i don't have particular interest as i was a system engineer while in Nigeria as per say we be computer village type of hustler (Jack of all trade in IT). Run Installations and all. Coming down here, i got to know certifications is mostly important in securing a job. I have decided to narrow down to Cyber Security or whichever is with a better pay.

I am open to suggestions and where i can get all these certifications done.

If there are groups to get information to help me kick start my survival mode down here, i don't mind being added.

God bless Us all.

Past government didn't find it easy with Nigerians even though theirs is not as bad as this current one. Every small thing, na protest during the past governments.
