Beaf: @iHustle@Beaf, You are very correct. Thankfully, truth is bigger and more powerful than any expansionist agenda. Below is a picture of the Olu of Warri and some of his chiefs. Who do they dress like? @PhysicsQED: Here's a link that will clarify your thoughts of Dahomey: http://www.edoworld.net/Benin_Kingdom_Yesterday_and_Tomorrow.html Here's an excerpt: "The impact and extent of the influence of the Benin Kingdom is exemplified in the renaming of the Republic of Dahomey to the Republic of Benin. Isadahomey was the Benin war general that led the army into the area of Dahomey, and subsequently had the area named after him. So when it became imperative that the people could no longer bear citizenship to a country named after an individual, the ruler of Dahomey Matthew Kereku had to seek the permission of the Oba of Benin for a change in name. Thus Dahomey was transformed into the Republic of Benin, which to the people was an honour to the “citizens of the Great Benin Kingdom”."

The problem myopic people have with alcohol is drunkenness. I have these questions for them: 1. why don't they have a problem with gluttony, oversleeping, overworking, excessive sugar consumption, etc. Aren't they equally bad? 2. Is too much of anything good? why do they single out alcohol? ![]() Now, for those 'Christians' who follow what their 'pastors' tell them: that drinking alcohol is a sin, I bet you don't have a clue who Christ is, and you haven't studied your Bible well enough to escape from the deceit of your 'pastor'. I have this for you: 1. Genesis 14:18- Then Melchizedek, the king of Salem and priest of God Most High, brought him(Abram) bread and WINE 2. Psalm 104:15- WINE to make them glad, 3. Ecclesiastes 5:18- Even so, I've noticed one thing, at least, that is good. It is good for people to eat well, drink a good glass of WINE, and enjoy their work-whatever they do under the sun-for however long God lets them live. 4. Isaiah 25:6- In Jerusalem, the LORD Almighty will spread a wonderful feast for everyone around the world. It will be a delicious feast of good food, with clear, WELL-AGED WINE and choice beef. 5. John 2- Jesus converts water to? WINE, 6. Mark 14:23- And he(Jesus) took a cup of WINE and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them, and they all drank from it. And he said to them, "This is my blood, poured out for many, sealing the covenant between God and his people. 7. Timothy 5:23- Don't drink only water. You(Timothy) ought to drink a little WINE for the sake of your stomach because you are sick so often. *Throughout the New Testament you'll hear Jesus using WINE in several parables What is the definition of WINE? 1.) alcohol fermented from grapes: an alcoholic drink made by fermenting the juice of grapes Microsoft® Encarta® 2008. © 1993-2007 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. 2. ) alcohol fermented from other fruit: an alcoholic drink made by fermenting the juice or an infusion of another fruit, a flower, or a vegetable dandelion wine Microsoft® Encarta® 2008. © 1993-2007 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. 3.) something stimulating or intoxicating: something that has a stimulating or intoxicating effect resembling that of wine (literary) Microsoft® Encarta® 2008. © 1993-2007 Microsoft Corporation. "My son is now 17months old and I observe that he always prefers picking things with his left hand even when eating. Also, when I try to give him something he stretches out the left hand first. In addition, when handling things, he has firmer grip with his left hand than his right hand. I dont know if he is left handed cos he is ma first child and please if he is how do I make him right handed." Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated. - Confucius |
Paris10 I support ur post 100%. It's very unfortunate that many "Christians" don't reason and don't study the Bible properly. They know very little about Christ and feed on whatever junk their "Pastors" give them without questioning them. These "MOG" are very proud to anounce the purchase of a new jet while their members wallow in delusion. How clearer can it get that these men are after money? |
Mubz:Thanks Mubz. oisehumen:Thanks for the compliment Oisehumen. It's indeed a calamity. Parents are to be blamed for this problem. If a child cannot speak his/her parents' language(s) it's the parents' fault, not the child's. Parents have to show a positive attitude to our indegenious languages. We should be proud of our heritage. Parents should adopt this formula: speak the local dialect to the children at home, then they go to school and learn English. I have seen a couple practice this with their children, and their children speak Igbo and English fluently. Another party to this calamity is the concept called "Nigeria". In my opinion, Nigeria is the worst thing that has happened to Nigerians. In this country, we have over 300 ethnic groups, controlled by a central government. Hence, the need for a common language. The colonialists took active steps in destroying our cultural heritage, while venerating theirs. However, I believe there is a solution. We have to be determined to solve this problem. Individuals, families, clans, local governments, state governments, and the federal government have to make inputs in preventing our cultural heritage from eroding before our very eyes. The Jews recovered the Hebrew language after over 1500 years of disuse, this feat is hailed as one of the greatest artistic achievement in history. Ours is not as bad as theirs, so I believe we can make it if we are determined enough. |

inter-tribal marriage should be encouraged IF AND ONLY IF there is a guarantee that the children of the couple will be well grounded in the cultures of their parents' tribes. If not it should be discouraged. In most homes where the parents are from different tribes you will notice that English is the predominant medium of communication. this accelerates the extinction of the languages of both parents. This way our indigenous languages and cultural values die, while English language and culture is embraced as the supreme by the children. Many of our indigenous languages are on the path of extinction. Let's be guided please. I don't believe in do or die love. If the person you love is from another tribe, and you know within you that when you start a family with that person your children will be lost as far as your culture is concerned, please look for someone in your tribe to marry. Don't tell me you can't find one! |
OK. thanks for ur response. |
