brazil passport is 18th strongest passport with 173 visa countries while, Mexico passport is 23rd strongest and 162 visa countries, parents of the Brazilian child can apply for citizenship after one of been a permanent resident which you automatically get 10years PR by giving birth and also the grandparents get PR too ,not forgetting to include that if you already had a child prior to giving birth in brazil ,the child gets citizenship too as long as the child is below 10 years of age and can apply immediately after getting the PR , and does not have to wait for a year like the parents

Also just like Mexican citizens ,Brazilian citizens only need to live in Spain for 2 years to get Spanish citizenship and Spain is the strongest passport in the world now, Spain has the agreement with some selected countries ad brazil is among

And by ,MERCOSUR agreement Brazilians can travel Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay and get their residence without any prior arrangement ,live there for some couple of years and get their citizenship too

Brazilians now have automatic residence authorization in Portugal it was signed into force On March 1, 2023

Better to go to Mexico. The Brazilian passport is stronger but the Mexican passport offers more opportunities. For instance, Mexicans are liable for the TN visa. The same visa that Canadians use to work in the US. As a mexican citizen, you only need to live in Spain for 2 years to get Spanish citizenship and Spain is the strongest passport in the world now. The passport of mexico can be gotten 2 years after you birth your child there.

But definitely try the US and Canada first but if they can't work then Mexico it is. It's the only passport that gives you access to both of those countries. With Brazil passport you will still need visa and Brazil doesn't really have any friendly agreements with the US or Canada at the moment

That is true, I met a lady in Brazil who just got her right to stay in the country and it took her 11 years and for all them times she has not been to Nigeria. She got it when she gave Birth. Now she is trying for the passport. She also told me about the difficulty she faces getting her Son to go to school, this was in Sao Palo.
The only way to get RNE very fast is to have a Brazilian child or be married to a Brazilian, she did not do any one on time that is why it took her 11years to get her right to stay

My wife was already pregnant before we arrived Brazil, so the whole process was fast for me

SO when did you enter Brazil and how long did it take to naturalize? I thought you were giving 10 years Visa 1st then after that you apply for Naturalization, at least this was what I was told when I was at a drink up in that popular shopping centre full of Nigerians, I can't remember the name.
You will be issued a 10year permanent resident card called RNE , normally you have to stay for 4 years before you can naturalize to become a citizen but it’s reduced to 1 year if you have a Brazilian child or you are married to a Brazilian

Boom cool then go ahead and enjoy visa free access to over 170 countries grin

I said maybe, just because that is the only country in sub-Saharan Africa that is better off than Nigeria. I don't consider North African countries to be "African". They don't see us as Africans, and I respect that. I am not related in any way to an Egyptian or Moroccan. Here in Japan, if I am walking and I see a black person, whether from Brazil or Guyana, we can easily relate. A Tunisian will not greet me or give me the black nod. So, why should they be seen as Africans? Asians consider every black person to be an African until the passport is shown. They see Moroccans and others as Arabs, and rightfully so.

I am not saying you are ignorant. I am saying Brazil is better off than almost every black African country except maybe South Africa strictly on the availability of jobs, economic opportunities and strength of the passport. The passport gives stability and options, especially as one gets older.

My problem is the lies. These people lie too much and brazenly at that on a public forum. I don't like dishonest people. Philippines is not worth it. It is ignorance that makes Nigerians see every white person as oyibo. It is better to spend money migrating to Brazil than most Asian countries except South Korea and Japan. China is for those with well-established business interests. India is a no no for young Africans looking for jobs. Singapore is too elite. Most importantly, it is pointless moving to a place where people spend their youth for a pittance and no assurance of getting a stronger passport. Singapore offers high salaries but no assurance of getting the passport. So better Brazil for someone who is not a top candidate. Better Peru than the UAE for a semi-skilled or unskilled person. Better Argentina than most countries in black Africa. People have to be strategic and pragmatic rather than dogmatic.

Western countries including Australia and New Zealand are great, but the routes are either too expensive, stringent and/or getting more complicated. In 2018, getting a visa to Poland was very fast. Today, it is almost impossible. In 2015, people entered Germany for studies immediately they could secure block accounts and admission. Today, they have to wait for more than a year before being called upon for an interview - not a guarantee the visa would be issued. That same period would have been used to learn Portuguese or Spanish and move to South America.

I do agree that for most black Africans having relocated at an adult age, home is fresh in their minds. But we are talking of economics here. If the economies in black Africa were pretty OK and jobs were available, people would not relocate. Chileans have an open door to the US labour market, yet they are not interested because Chile is OK. No African country enjoys that. Getting a date for a non-immigrant visa at the US embassy in Lagos takes almost a year.
You said it all
I moved to Brazil with my wife and son , we also had another child in brazil, currently we have all naturalized all within less than 4years
People keep wasting their time in Europe and north america with no easy route to naturalize ,some fall out of status and are put up for deportation , mortgaged and wasted years

Y’all keep comparing crime rate while I enjoy my blue Passport visa free benefits with my family grin grin

Hello @Ijeamak1. Please I will like to know the city you used, I am planning to use florianapolis and i am wondering if this is a good choice. Secondly can you help with the list of documents i need to leave here with that will be required for the PR card. Thanks in Anticipation. If you do not also mind, can i DM you for more enquiries. Regards
Florianapolis SC is also a good place the major thing you need from Nigeria is police character report and your birth certificate, mind you the validity of the police character certificate is 3 months after that it’s no more valid and you have to get a new one , your birth certificate has to certified by the Nigeria embassy here in brasilia and you also have to get a consular letter from the embassy here in brasil, those are the major ones , someone did the processing for me here in SP
1.international passport
2. Brazilian child birth certificate
3. RG
4.proof of address( gas, light or internet bill)
5.consular letter
6. Your birth certificate
7.police character certificate
8. Translation of your document to Portuguese by a certified translator
9. And some documents you have to print online here and sign
Those are the documents I can remember for now

@ijeamaka1 thank you very much for your commitment on nairaland, I appreciate the way you take out your time to reply people.
My own question is …… how long did it take you to apply your first son you gave birth in Nigeria, naturalization in Brazil?
Did you get him PR first or you applied straight up?
How long did it take you to get his passport?
Firstly you have to get your child his/her 10 year indefinite permanent residence (RNE)
After 6 six months of been a PR holder and not stepping out of Brazil territory and been enrolled in school , you can apply for naturalization
N.B - either of the parent standing as guardian must also possess the RNE indefinite 10 years card
I used a law firm for the naturalization process, the whole process took about 7months or so
I was invited to policial federal to bring my child’s original documents that was uploaded online , after that two policia federal agents visited my house to verify , a couple of months later it was approved
I already applied and got his RG and Brazilian passport
Nairaland GeneralWhat Are Some Mind Blowing Facts About Lions by Ijeamaka1(op): 12:07am On Mar 24, 2023
No matter how long it lives, the Greatest Lion will eventually die miserably. That's the world.

At their Peak, they rule, chase other animals, catch, devour, gulp and leave their crumbs for hyenas. But age comes fast.

The old Lion can't hunt, can't kill or defend itself. It roams and roars until it runs out of luck. It will be cornered by the hyenas, nibbled at and eaten alive by them. They won't even let it die before it is dismembered.

Life is short. Power is ephemeral. Physical beauty is short-lived, I have seen it in lions. I have seen it in old people. Every Lion which live long enough will be vulnerable at some point.

Also inform them that Brazil is a very dangerous country filled with drug-cartel inspired violent crimes and daily deaths on the streets.
I stand to be corrected no country is 100 percent void of violent crime
The same way most Europeans see America as a shithole due to the violent crime and gun violence
Americans portray Mexico has a drug infested country with various cartels

South Africa with xenophobia and gun violence

Nigeria with insurgents ,terrorism and kidnappings

Eu not wanting turkey to ascend into the schengen zone due to violence

And it’s also ranges with individuals, no disrespect towards your opinion about Brazil
there are areas prone to violence and safe areas , and it applies to all countries in the world
If am judging a country based opinions from vloggers , I won’t visit the U.S
Atleast I did not get shot in my two time visit

The world is a beautiful place visit and explore different languages, cuisines and culture and stop listening to vloggers who tell and show you want you want to hear for views and comments

Like you said , YOU HAVE MONEY 😊,without us asking you, so touring the world should not be problem

Boss it’s a joint effort from us all to keep the thread alive ,most people don’t know the visa free privileges attached to owing a brazilian passport
Everyone is stuck with the stereotype thinking that it’s either American/Canadian birth citizenships

Plus or minus between 3-4 years everyone in the family can become Brazilian citizens if you go through the right channel and fulfil the necessary requirements , just by giving birth in Brazil

INFORMATION IS KEY!!!

Plastic, normal ID card. You can't travel to Europe with it without VISA but it will help during your visa application. You can only visit Mercosur countries with Brazil PR without VISA.
Tope quick question gave birth to my first born in Nigeria and the second born in brazil , just got my first born naturalized , so they are both Brazilians now with Brazilian passports
Me and my wife also got 10 years permanent residence
My question is can I travel to mercosur countries I.e Argentina, Chile etc , by flight without a visa or it’s just by road
Many thanks 🙏🏼

Why would anyone wanna give birth in Brazil tho
google is your friend ,look up the Brazilian passport world rankings and visa free access

Unlike the us passport , you are prone to double taxation ,with a Brazilian passport you only pay taxes when you work in brazil and free of tax when you work abroad

Everyone loves a Brazilian grin grin grin
