It's like an example I gave earlier. A lot of people in prison always claim they are innocent. The new normal is that once a jury finds you guilty of any charge, you accept the 'convict' status until a higher court acquits you .Lest you be sued for defamation.
You posted this example again like you are proud of it and as if it were somehow clever. I left you last time as it was so utterly stupid and so devoid of any understanding of how defamation works. So..

In your example who would be suing who for defamation? And what law would they be using to do so?

I find your continued arrogance in things you have 0 understanding of contemptible.

"The law is broken and has been broken".

This is how a bad workman quarrels with his tools.
"This tool is broken and has been broken",
Yet, past Presidents used the same tool (the law) to secure the border.

An unwilling mind finds a thousand excuses.
A willing mind finds a thousand ways.

Trump was a willing mind and he secured the border with the law as it is.
Then came the open-borders Baba Left with excuses :

"The immigration law is broken and has been broken".
What past Presidents used the same tool (the law) to secure the border?
Two part question.
1.) Tell me what tools they used
2.) Show me a chart showing how effective those tools were in securing the border.

You never post any facts or figures. But you do seem to post a lot of misinformation and glibby sound bites which seem to be gleaned from conservative propaganda.

He is claiming victory for being stupid?
So you admit there is a problem, and you also admit that people who asylum and then disappear are illegal aliens. Bingo....

45 years old remember your age before you become mumu on naira land.

Questions asked up there.
How many are granted asylum?
How many that come to court?
How many that disappeared?

Are they all legal migrants? Because they said they feel threatened at home.

You are only a legal migrant if you are processed and granted asylum not when you disappear into the country.
You seem to still be confused about the definition of legal. And you seem to still be confused about the asylum process. I've posted the law.. read it. I've posted 1 site and 1 well written NY times article which talk about the asylum process.. read them.

I've corrected enough of your posts and given you enough resources to answer the rudimentary (if you followed this issue) questions you've asked. If you choose to continue to sound illiterate because you watch Youtube clips instead of reading well sourced info, that's on you.

You are not only confusing things, you are also misrepresenting them.

Carroll did not accuse Trump of tape, she accused him of rape. Learn to spell, or at least use spell check, before you try to debate me.

She did not claim he defamed her when he said that didn't happen, she claimed he defamed her when he said that she was lying. Learn to read, or at least use reading comprehension, before you try to debate me.

To prove defamation, you do not have to prove rape did occur, you have to prove sexual abuse did occur. Learn the law, and the difference between certain terms, before you try to debate me.

Denying something that didn't happen is not defamation, but denying something that did happen and calling the victim names is defamation. Learn the logic, or at least use common sense, before you try to debate me.

Anyway, I don't think you will see a point here, because you have none. Learn to argue, or at least use some facts, before you try to debate me.

Bwahahahahaha. You got roasted again for talking about something you have no clue about and you come back for another helping.
What surprises me is that Republican buffoons like you have no real understanding of the issues you are feverishly mad over. Yet you feverishly talk about it over and over. Especially you, Mr. "Open mouth and insert foot".

The asylum laws are the problem.
It is not the granting asylum, it is the fact that if someone claims asylum they have to be allowed to stay until their application is approved or denied. Until then, they are released into the US with a court date to show up.

It is drawing attention to an immigration system that has been under strain for decades. Congress has failed to update laws designed to address the American economy and migration trends of 30 years ago. And the asylum system, chronically understaffed and underfunded, has a backlog of two million cases that some say is insurmountable.
Ten years in limbo
That is how long some people wait for the government to issue a decision on their asylum claim. Recent estimates show the wait times average three years in immigration court and 10 years if an application is filed with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Even as additional resources are added to help manage the overwhelming workload, far more asylum applications are filed each year than the government is able to resolve.

For many, the yearslong wait for a decision is benefit enough. Asylum seekers can work legally and often live in much safer environments than the ones they fled. Policymakers say this waiting period, which tends to grow as the backlog grows, has been one of the biggest drivers of illegal immigration.

You must be the dumbest person here. Obrigado, your days are numbered.
Because someone is seeking asylum automatically makes him a legal migrant? Are you this stupid?

People who cross the border illegally are not legal migrants. They are considered irregular or unauthorized entrants who may be subject to removal or prosecution. However, they may still have the right to apply for asylum or refugee protection under certain circumstances, depending on the country they are in and the country they are from. Asylum and refugee status are not the same as legal migration, but rather a form of humanitarian protection for those who face persecution or danger in their home country. Asylum and refugee claims are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and do not guarantee permanent residency or citizenship.

Given the fact that most of them seeking asylum are undocumented aliens who no one knows their whereabout should tell you mare seeking an asylum does not make you a legal Migrant.
Lol. As I said, your name should be open mouth and stick foot in. I won't stick around long enough for you to twist words and contort what you've written in order not to be wrong as you always are.

This is what I said.
Legal immigration is what the law permits. You can be in the US illegally and still apply for asylum which would then be "legal immigration" as there is a legal process in place.
So let's start with Fun with Vocab
legal:
LAWFUL, LEGAL, LEGITIMATE, LICIT mean being in accordance with law.
As long as you are following the laws defined for the pathway you are trying to use to immigrate into the US, you are considered a legal immigrant. The asylum process allows some people who entered illegally to apply for asylum. When you apply for asylum you are thus using a legal immigration process. Thus you are a legal immigrant until the asylum application is adjudicated.

Legal immigration to the United States occurs through an alphabet soup of visa categories, but a small number of pathways. Family relationships, ties to employers, or the need for humanitarian protection are the top channels for immigrants seeking temporary or permanent U.S. residence.

8 U.S. Code § 1158 - Asylum

(a)Authority to apply for asylum

Any alien who is physically present in the United States or who arrives in the United States (whether or not at a designated port of arrival and including an alien who is brought to the United States after having been interdicted in international or United States waters), irrespective of such alien’s status, may apply for asylum in accordance with this section or, where applicable, section 1225(b) of this title.

This mockery of Sovereign Borders you wrote here, is it what the US Immigration and Naturalisation Law told you, or is it just your warped, Nation-of-Immigrants
mentality at play; that people can just barge into a country thro any point in the bush, and then be welcomed on a red carpet by a people smuggling sanctioning government?
I am an ex Customs Officer and there is nothing you can tell me about border control. And I know that all nations that are not dystopias admit visitors, traders, tourists, immigrants and the like through approved (official) border crossing points. Anything else is lawbreaking, illegal.
This is a very black and white view of the situation. And of course it's not that simple. Most of the issue now is the legal immigration (asylum seekers). There is a huge backlog and so cases are taking years to come up. The law is broken and has been broken. Trump tried some illegal actions to go around the spirit of the law and the law itself. Biden chose not to. The issue is that this could have easily been fixed with a comprehensive bill. Bush almost had one but it was torpedoed by Republicans. Why? because it's a good issue to run on. And it's harder fixing it when your constituents (farmers) rely on the cheap immigrant labor.

I think most people are for secure borders and finding a good balance for legal immigration. I know I am. I think there isn't enough money to support the whole world. That being said, I recognize many of those people who support more open borders think their reasoning is sound as well... "that's what Jesus preached, "helping your neighbors"". So, they may be living their faith better than I, who is largely focused on money.

https://www.bostonreview.net/articles/the-fred-dube-affair/

The fear and silencing on college campuses today is not arbitrary or new. It is a policy passed down from generation to generation; it is rigorously and virulently inculcated, dangerous both because of whom it harms and what it buries.

Forty years later, Zola Dube remembers losing her father to bitterness over the Stony Brook ordeal. Am I afraid, she asks me, to write about Fred Dube? The cycles continue: the impermissibility of critical dialogue about Israel-Palestine is a lesson that we—faculty, administrators, neighbors, citizens—all learn through experience. The time has come again for Dube’s humanizing analysis. What cannot be named cannot be healed. What we cannot speak of, we can never solve.

How is Pres Biden leading by 6 points? This should've been in the higher double digits. Well polls don't matter to us anymore, it's do or die trying this November.
Unfortunately fam, in this day and age that would be considered a good lead esp. this far out from the election. Unfortunately, the Republican base in undereducated and largely have an emotional investment to the party so the amount of propaganda they push is very effective. So it'll be really hard to shift the polls that much. Look at this thread.. you have black Nigerians who have probably never seen a white pilot agreeing with a Republican Racist that black people are too dumb to fly planes. Trump could probably eat a baby on 5th ave and his base would say it was the will of God.

But the underlying data portends bad things for the GOP. They are hemorrhaging women. And that will be a drain not only on the presidential ticket but on all down ballot races. And what does the GOP do while they are losing women? They attack Taylor Swift in the most nuttery of ways. lol. Yes, they should continue.. lol.

You are the racist who determined that all pilots in yiur 6 west African flights were black.
You don't notice that unless you had a need to find out. In most cases on relatively short flights , you never get to see the pilots. But you did.
We all know you keep excel sheets on people you interact with, what was your interest in the skin color of the pilots?
I rarely get to see the pilots myself, it just makes me wonder why you was so interested .Or maybe your dad owns the airlines, so you would know.
So, obviously you don't fly or fly a lot. Pilots mostly always identify themselves and then greet passengers before the plane takes off via intercom. And they stand near the exit to greet passengers as the passengers deplane. I always make it a habit to thank anyone who transports me anywhere. Maybe you don't notice them on your flights because they are black and you don't think black people are smart enough to fly planes.

But, even moreso. When I travel anywhere that I don't primarily reside, the culture is important to me. Esp. the economic roles/impact of Westerners/Europeans in those countries esp. African countries. So, yes I do pay attention to the racial makeups of those places, to help understand those impacts. Esp. in countries like Nigeria and Ghana who are becoming more forward leaning in trying to attract western tourism. Nigeria and its "international city" push and Ghana and it's "Return".

basilico:
Pilots are very well paid everywhere and money attracts hordes of nice women. Black pilots mostly due to African cultural norms are likely to be strictly heterosexual. Now I'll be racist. I bet you are more likely to find a white gay pilot than a black gay pilot. Which might answer why you were so interested in finding out whether there are white pilots at home.Did you come to Africa to search for white gay liaisons? Do you have a fetish for white pilots,,trying to get them notice a metro sexual black guy flying first class?
cc Bemeruca
You've dedicated more than half of your post to this attempted insult (it's not clever nor funny.. but strained). That's generally a concession that you're unable to argue intellectually or you've lost the argument. Both are true here.
But to a greater point, this seems to be a trend with Conservatives. They have an inability to stand on facts and logic (most of the stuff they spew is BS) so they tend to attempt to lie and slander people. I think that's why Liberals are so happy with what Carrol did to Trump. When liberals start suing conservatives for libel and defamation like Dominion and Carrol did and Smartmatic is doing, they'll stop lying and slandering. Was always surprising to me that Republicans wanted to enhance defamation laws and remove sect. 230 protections for websites. That would basically destroy all of conservative media.

Anyone noticing the pilots race must have a pervasive need of checking out their skin color from seeing them. Or from the sound of the names as announced by the Captain before takeoff.
Which makes you a racist.
Hmm.. So, let me understand.
It is not racist for Ben Shapiro to not only notice black pilots but to then question if they can fly a plane in a country that is racially diverse like the US.
But it is racist that someone would take notice of a white pilot in a country like Nigeria where the population in my guess, is >95% brown skinned people.

Gotcha. The knots people like you twist yourselves in to defend your self-hate and racism is astounding.
The broken logic in the things you write makes my head hurt.

Conservatives Had to Get Weirdly Racist Even When It Comes to the Airplane Freakout, Huh?
https://news.yahoo.com/conservatives-had-weirdly-racist-even-171315230.html

Good Read. We saw it in this thread with the self-hating racists Benalvino and Basilico. When I was in Nigeria for Xmas I took 6 inter-West African flights. All the pilots were black. So, I find it even more troubling that people who live in Nigeria where most Nigerian pilots are black would question black pilot's ability to fly. Granted, I'm not sure they fly on planes.

A lengthy section from it.
At first glance, all of this amounts to a car wash running as intended. Conservative media needs to cycle through different artifacts of cultural grievance to keep business booming. Today it’s the airline industry paying lip service and even instituting some recruiting changes to increase the pool of candidates who are not white men. Tomorrow it could be immigrants infecting the country with a drug problem. The next day it could be a social studies teacher trying to turn children into queens. Par for the course, right?

Not exactly. What is happening with the conservative freakout over diversity in aviation is different from the normal outrage cycle in an echo chamber. Conservative commentators, politicians, and the followers who take cues from them have a long-established pattern of how they do business. The first step is what happens: Crime goes up, maybe, or at least a spate of high-profile crimes gets a lot of attention. Conservatives then funnel that into racist resentment, maybe with loosely coded language, or maybe without even needing that. Or the national deficit exists, and Republican political campaigns blame it on the “welfare state,” fully aware that their voters think that means “Black people.” Or a large number of Americans succumb to drug addiction and overdoses, and conservatives make it into a rallying cry about the danger of immigrants, as if they’re the ones introducing heroin into our communities. They’re always deploying barely disguised racism to ensure anger, right?

The new conservative outrage machine is different because it skips a step. It used to be that first, something had to happen. Sure, instigators might exaggerate about that thing. They might spin it to sound like more than it was. But something happened somewhere, and the race to pin it on a group they didn’t like could commence. In 2024 nothing even has to happen. The current punching bag of diversity in the airline industry shows how the conservative internet-industrial complex has shifted. The apparatus is no longer limited to drumming up causes for real-world situations. It can now merely invent the problems themselves. And this burst of creativity is useful to the conservative movement against all kinds of adversaries, not just Black airline pilots.

Because here are the current facts: There is no ongoing crisis in American aviation safety. U.S. commercial planes have gotten into exactly three fatal accidents since 2009, making flying by far the safest way to get around the country. Flying sucks, but we are extremely safe when we do it, at least if we can tolerate people sneezing near us and reclining dangerously far into our laps. (As a matter of fact, I am working on this story from the comfort of an American Airlines economy seat. I have not yet gotten a look at my pilot but am remaining calm.) The inability of Boeing and Alaska Airlines to keep a door from flying off one of their planes midflight was not a great tribute to the Wright brothers’ move to put motor vehicles in the sky, but it does not make an industrywide crisis any more than a bad part on a Honda spells doom for car safety.

Finally, I think there was some witness who can swear there was no rape allegations in that store while she worked there during that period . I'll find out why she did not testify. Jean Carroll got her description of the store wrong too if I'm correct.
Because the darn encounter happened in her dreams.
You should probably google the legal doctrine "collateral estoppel". It would save you bucketloads of data wrting these posts and prevent you from sounding more like a nut. The judge's hands were more or less tied by the law.

Under a legal doctrine called collateral estoppel — essentially, that the earlier jury verdict has a binding effect on the related lawsuit — Trump and his attorneys aren't allowed to deny that he raped and defamed Carroll.

Because those issues have been resolved, Trump also can't reopen them by talking about related issues, including the left-leaning billionaire who funded part of Carroll's suit (the judge ruled it had no effect on her credibility), the lack of DNA evidence (Trump refused to provide his DNA for testing for years), or some of Carroll's media interviews (the jury in the first trial already considered them).

You are the one who brought up politics. You didn't pay any respect to the men and women in arms way for our freedom and security instead, you attack those who acknowledge their service after they pay the ultimate price.
Who's freedom and security? Lol. This fuxing loser thinks he's an American. See Mental illness.
Next week you'll be back to trashing America and palling around with Slyfoxx as he talks about killing all Americans.
You are a deeply deeply broken person.
You hate the thing you are, a black person and idolize(well today) the thing you aren't, an American.

Get help Mr. "I can't stop myself from talking about Homosexuality".

Ur a sick fux.
As if you actually care about these lives.
Everything is politics and games in your servitude to Trump.

The dream world is a cacotopian world.

The individual I saw in my dream owns numerous luxury mansions and hotels in his country and beyond.
They are not few, the number of women that would be only too willing to be "lured" or "tricked" into one of those places for a "rape" or two.

Yet that individual was said to have snubbed all those resources to go and rape one scrawny, scraggy entity in a supermarket toilet at peak work day period.
And the matter took 30 solid years to reach a woke mob cacotopian courthouse.

You needed to see the sheer barbarity of the robbery financial penalty imposed just for defaming her... If convicted of rape, it surely would have been the guillotine for the individual.

I saw the great world leader, Chairman Kim Jong Un, laughing derisively at Woketopia in that dream.
Some things to think about.
1.) Trump must of thought Carrol was attractive because he confused a picture of her for his ex-wife (whom he married).
Donald Trump mistook E. Jean Carroll for ex-wife Marla Maples in photo, deposition shows
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2023/01/19/trump-mistook-e-jean-carroll-ex-wife-photo-deposition-reveals/11082869002/

2.) We already know Donald Trump was not particular about where he sexually assaulted women. By the way his comments are de facto sexual assault.
Trump: Yeah, that’s her. With the gold. I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her. You know, I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.
...
Trump: Grab ’em by the pussy. You can do anything.
3.) Despite #1. Rape isn't necessarily about the ability to get hot women or not. Rape is moreso to do with sexual entitlement and power. That's why there are very successful people who are rapists.

Though I may not agree with the need to support Trump. I do not understand the need to pretend the things he does and says don't exist.

Maga cultism is gradually dying a slow sad death but the underlying republican cruelty will still remain. Criminal trumpism is slowly ebbing out.
I think she made a tactical error. Clearly if you listen to the tape it's obvious she was recording. She doesn't speak that way in real life. I'm shocked her language didn't clue the person she was speaking to to the fact he was being recorded.
But unfortunately for Lake, grifters want to be able to trust other grifters aren't recording them. And given the MAGA movement is made of mostly grifters, I can't believe she'll be openly welcome in those confidential spaces.

You seem to think I'm some die-hard Carroll fanatic, clinging to her every word. LOL. Relax, I'm simply admiring the flaws in your analysis. You see, it's all well and good to wave your dismissive paw, but where's the engagement with the actual evidence and arguments she presents? Don't tell me you're afraid to tumble down the rabbit hole of logic, are you? I see you still insist on playing the 'mentally sick woman' card. How cliché of you. And the article that you linked to is chock full of logical fallacies, ad hominem attacks, and unsubstantiated claims.

By the way, E. Jean isn't some random internet nobody. She's a published author and veteran Elle columnist with a 26-year track record. But hey, facts are the enemy of a good witch hunt, right? And let's not forget, she's just one of over 20 women who accused Trump of similar behavior. But sure, let's focus on her tweets because...reasons? And speaking of tweets, Carroll did not admit to deleting her tweets, but to archiving them. She explained that she did so to protect her privacy and safety, as some of the tweets contained personal information or abusive messages. But before you erupt with "censorship!" cries, consider this: those tweets are still lurking, like digital ghosts, ready to be summoned as evidence if need be. Furthermore, she claimed that Trump damaged her reputation and career by calling her a liar and implying that she was too unattractive to rape. The death threats she received on Twitter were a consequence of Trump's defamatory statements, not a motive for her lawsuit.

Oh, and while you're busy dissecting Carroll's fashion sense, you're missing the bigger picture. The dress isn't a museum exhibit, it's a symbol of courage, worn proudly like a warrior's armor. She didn't don it to impress Vogue editors in 2019, but to stare down her accuser and the world. Now, about that 1994 label mix-up? Let's not get hung up on fashion faux pas when we're talking about something far more profound. It's like nitpicking the wallpaper in a burning building. Focus on the flames, big guy, not the decor.

Thus far, all you've continued to do is make a barrage of accusations, while employing common tactics used to discredit and silence survivors of sexual assault, and it reflects the rape myths that pervade our culture. One of the rape myths that you seem to endorse is that rape is caused by the perpetrator's uncontrollable sexual urge, and that women who dress or act provocatively are inviting or deserving of rape. This is what Carroll was challenging when she said that rape is not sexy, but a violent crime. She was not implying that she enjoyed being raped, as you suggest, but that she was trying to cope with the trauma and stigma of being a survivor. She was also exposing the hypocrisy and double standards that exist in our society, where women are expected to be sexually attractive, but not sexually assertive. Your replies so far read more like clear attempts to discredit and silence Carroll, who is one of the many women who have accused Trump of sexual misconduct.
Well written. Unfortunately it's too much logic for basilico.

Wow! Republican Judge says criminal trump engaged in Insurrection.

I just can't wait for February 8th. Criminal trump will be disqualified, if not, then SCOTUS must explain if section 3 of the 14th amendment makes any more sense in the Constitution.

https://www.wbez.org/stories/trumps-candidacy-on-the-illinois-ballot-should-be-decided-by-the-courts-hearing-officer-says/e9af3a79-7e96-4429-8bf0-282833888bb2?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=Web-Share
Let's see what the Supreme Court decides. I'm 50/50 on it. I would have liked the courts to have weighed in through a trial first (due process). But I am curious to read the decision to see how the Conservative court and their "originalism" tackle the constitutions words.

So you think libel laws shouldn't be expanded? Because this has been a GOP pet project for a while.
You guys change positions like underwear. One may even say you don't really believe the things you say. And you only like laws when it benefits you.

"One of the things I'm going to do if I win, and I hope we do and we're certainly leading. I'm going to open up our libel laws so when they write purposely negative and horrible and false articles, we can sue them and win lots of money. We're going to open up those libel laws. So when The New York Times writes a hit piece which is a total disgrace or when The Washington Post, which is there for other reasons, writes a hit piece, we can sue them and win money instead of having no chance of winning because they're totally protected," Trump said.

Florida legislative panel OKs bill making it easier to sue media, others for defamation
A bill making it easier to sue journalists and others for defamation is now making its way through the Florida Legislature and could pass this year.
Sponsored by Republican state Rep. Alex Andrade of Pensacola, the measure (HB 757) does not go as far as a well-publicized measure he pushed last session, which failed to go the distance despite having provisions that Gov. Ron DeSantis called for.

Yeah and all those times you never saw a black pilot and didn't fall out the sky? Seems you're lying one way or the other Mr. Self hate. This is the craziest thing. People who live in a country where >90% of the pilots are black are saying they think is not racist to suggest Black people can't fly planes. The absolute nuttery and deep deep psychological self hate of it.
