Team July, how are we doing? I hope I'm not the only one who hasn't registered for antenatal.

MS has finally gone, only feel nauseous when brushing. The strength since two days now no be here o. This morning hubby woke up to find me washing the bathroom. After that, I began mopping the whole house. Cooked, did laundry before hunger set it. He was so happy cos guy man has been the one doing most of the house chores. At times he will cook and instead of appreciating, I wont be able to eat. How I pity him. I'm So happy that my strength is returning again.

I remember when I used to feel tired and can't wait to register for antenatal, now, the antenatal no hungry me again cos I feel so much better. I hope I'm not alone teamies? Happy weekend to us.

Officially reporting as Team July. Edd July 24.

Try ugwu juice with pineapple juice/orange or watermelon juice. Use your blood tablet 2hours before or after food. Take milk 2hours before or after your blood supplements. You can use your blood supplements with orange juice or pineapple juice it helps.
I don't think pineapple juice is a good idea. Heard it causes contraction which leads to preterm labour.

Making vegetable soup/stew with garden leaves and okro should is also good. Or she can try tomato paste or malt and milk. But mostly, garden egg leaves does the wonder faster and easier. If u can juice it better, if not, use enough of it in okro soup with, preferably fresh fish.

I have when I had an health issue in 2018.

I was on admission for days and I didn't have any complain, same place I use for my son.

They are calm and know their onions.

About being nice to first time moms? It is their job to be nice and they do well to ensure that.

Take a trip there just to see around and ask questions so you can also read from their approach to you, there and then you can make up your mind.
Thanks so much, I really appreciate ur response. I will definitely take a trip there.

It was smooth. And yes, I would have given birth there.
Their nurses were nice, unlike the stories I've heard of gen. Hosp nurses
A friend delivered there that same year and she also gave me positive feedback.
Thanks a lot for your response. I will sure check them out.

Since you stay at Elepe, you can use Ijede general hospital if you want to use a govt Hosp. Registered there for antenatal during my 1st, but delivered in the private hosp I registered with because of HMO.
Okay, thanks for your response ma. But I will like to know, How was your ante natal journey at Ijede hospital? And would you have given birth there if it hadn't been for HMO? Thanks

Why not use Ajayi hospital or oak hospital at Agric for private. I used ikorodu general hospital and asides the stress of having to go early and registration wahala, they have specialist doctors for maternity and it's also affordable.
I stay at Elepe, after Itamaga. Ikorodu General hospital is good but I think is far from me. Cos I'm looking at going there weekly for antenatals and what of late night or very early morning delivery? We are still praying for a car, but don't know how early it'll come. Pls what do u feel? I'm approaching 13weeks and haven't registered for antenatal yet although I'm taking folic acid and ferrous tablets daily. I'm beginning to think it might not be good for my baby.

Also, my mom says she prefers Govt hospital while DH prefers private. I'm yet to register at any as I don't know which to use.

BA/BS

To God be the glory, my princess is here. Passed my EDD and my OB asked me to come in for induction on Christmas day but I decided to enjoy Christmas rice before going in the next day. On va.ginal examination, cervix was 2cm dilated. Already I had started seeing bits of clear mucus plug for like 3weeks. Misop.rostol was introduced at past 12 midnight and within minutes, I started feeling contractions. From every 30mins to 20mins to 5mins to 3mins to 1min to 40secs. My DH was doing the timing. By the time it was 20secs apart, I was seeing stars meanwhile the doctor on duty was telling me I'm just 5cm. I said it's not possible from previous experience and begged the nurses with me to crosscheck after he had left and one said that she's touching the baby's head.. All this while, I was being encouraged to lie on my left side throughout and do breathing exercises whenever contractions hit. Anyways, within 5mins, the bag of waters broke and I began to feel a serious bearing down sensation like I wanted to poo. Called the nurses attention and on checking, took me to delivery room that the baby's head was already at the vj opening, another nurse went to call the doctor but before he arrived, God helped me and the nurses birth her, in 2 pushes she was out and the placenta followed immediately, no internal or external tear. Baby weight 3.43kg. Duration of labour: 4 hours. We have been discharged from hospital. Wishing all remaining preggy mamas swift delivery.

Pls I need a recommendation on good Govt hospitals in Ikorodu, Lagos state. Im a FTM and dont know what to do. Someone suggested Okeletu Health centre. I went there and was told in case of cs, one might be referred. I'm not praying for cs but I think one never knows what God has in stock for delivery.

God is in this group helping out pregnant sisters. I knew it but just confirmed it today.
@QueenFav, I don't know how to quote as I'm new here even though I had read over 500 pages on this thread(starting from the first page and stopped at around page 300 then continued from page 5200 till now) but my comment on my indecision as to travelling with my hubby was my first.

My mom informed hubby that she and hubby has to pray for me as a revelation came. They started the prayer today. I couldn't join the fast but decided to read Psalm 35, at least to do the little I could.
Immediately after reading the scripture and praying, just lightly, I decided to check this thread. Mind you, I have been on Nairaland since morning but on the Travel section, as Nigeria matta recently just tire me. So I have been keeping myself busy on that section, at least if I read other people's testimony on how they left Naija and all, maybe God will know I'm serious and do something about it for me kiss.

So after reading the Psalm, I carried my phone and checked the Health section, thus here and was met with Queenfav's angered outburst on how the guy who does her electricals lost his wife. Hmmnn. Immediately my spirit, I wouldn't want to say the Holy Spirit so as not to make it too spiritual, told me that this is the revelation I needed. And just so you know, my hubby is into electricals. And there is a way God speaks to me. He speaks to me not in the usual way He speaks to others. I just accepted this as God telling me not to embark on that journey. My younger sister who intended travelling to Mbaise for the Christmas, told me her travel is on hold as our mother told her she was warned about one of her children receiving a bad gift.

So sisters, help me thank God. And I thank every one of you for your responses. God bless us all and may we all carry our LO without stress till term in Jesus' name, Amen! Sorry for the long post.

Thanks all for ur responses, I really appreciate.

I have spoken to him and he insisted I go as he can't be away from me for two weeks cry. He promised not to allow anyone stress me and we go with a small gas stove so I can cook what I would like to eat in case the food they cook doesn't go down with me.

I pray before the D-day he changes his mind cos I'm not so cool with it.

Hi all. I'm new here. I don't know how far gone I am but my LMP was Oct 20th. Pls I need your opinions on this matter.
My hubby wants us to travel to his hometown for the festive period. I don't know how wise that is as I'm already having some pregnancy symptoms like fatigue, vomiting while brushing and serious food aversions. I do not want a situation whereby his people in the village will know I have taken in. My mom isn't okay with me travelling, though it will break my Hubby's heart if I don't go with him as this is an avenue for him to show me off to some of his family members that couldn't make the wedding. The stress of travelling by bus from Lagos to Edo is another thing, I hope it won't affect my baby. I'm torn between listening to my boo or my mom. Pls has anyone travelled to the village in the very early weeks of pregnancy and how was it? Thanks for ur responses.
