PoliticsRe: Obi-datti Please Drop The Idea Of Hourly Rate Payment For Workers by Ikea81: 8:41pm On Dec 04, 2022
onumadu:
I like Obi/Datti and have been campaigning for them all these while. However, someone should please tell them that the hourly payment is not good for Nigerians. Nigeria has a lot of problems, but Nigeria also has a lot of good socioeconomic practices, some of which Nigerians have taken for granted because they don't know better. One of such practices is SALARY payment system.

In developed countries, the people who get paid salaries are top executives of companies, therefore on its face value, it may seem like a good idea to scrap the salary system in Nigeria. However if you have lived in developed countries, you would see that the get-paid-as-you-work system has many systemic problems. One of such problems is the dehumanizing nature of the system.
It is a system that can easily (and often does) replaces human workers with robots.

In many cases, the human workers are even forced to train customers to use robots, essentially training for their own future unemployment.
The salary system is an inherently human/humane system that takes into consideration the workers humanity. When a worker gets sick or unable to work, he/she still gets paid in full, because they have human commitments.

In a get-paid-as-you-work system, once a worker gets sick, s/he only gets paid for yearly assigned sick-off days, which usually lasts for about one month or six weeks max. Once the worker exhausts the sick-off days, s/he is only limited to getting part payment for government approved disability days, which is also usually exhausted quickly (matter of 3 months max), and the worker is then faced with all kinds of economic problems, which usually ends in homelessness. It happens fairly often. Getting sick in such a system is usually the cause of most homelessness. You risk being homeless once you get sick!

When I was in Nigeria, and one of my kids got sick and was rushed to a private children's hospital, the nurse that attended to us had an infant child who she brought with her to work. The baby was sleeping in a small bed next to her, and that was fine. The whole place felt human and normal, and we even enjoyed the company of her new baby. You cannot have such in a developed country, but that is the point of the humanity of the Nigerian system.

Though we often lament the lack of development in Nigeria, we should always be mindful that some of those things that develop a country also dehumanize the country.

Salary system humanizes a country, while the get-paid-as-you-work dehumanizes and creates a lot of social problems. Everything cannot be monetized; some things are beyond money.

Someone should please advise Obi-Datti to drop the get-paid-as-you-work idea, and focus on improving what Nigeria is already doing right. Salary system should be strengthened rather than replaced.

We should not jump from frying pan to fire.

Sharing my DIY experience at the Festac passport office this morning as a single parent.

I had previously gone yesterday to open a file as I have seen a couple of people mention here. The lady at servicom said it wasn't necessary. I should come on the day of capturing, which is today to begin the whole process.

Got to the passport office by 7am. Waited outside till they let us in by 8am. Proceeded to the waiting hall. Till sometime around 9am when I realised I had to drop my child's appointment slip at servicom to be called. I did that and returned to the waiting room. I was called upon mins later to servicom with others.

They asked who was capturing. Stated it was my child. They asked for a marriage certificate, which I don't have as I'm not married. They said "we don't do single mother here". I proceeded to show them the consent letter from her father and his passport data page plus birth certificate with has name as the father of the child. I was asked whose surname the child bares, it's his surname. They still asked if we are married legally or traditionally and if we live together. Answered all in negative. I was told to go to Ikeja high court to swear an "Affidavit for single mother".

I left that servicom office embarrassed. I'm home now.
Nigeria is a useless place. God punish all the people making life hard here

I have made a lifetime mistake. Sometimes I feel like committing suicide to get free from regretting. I am seeing myself going down slowly.
Don't waste money getting a divorce, just get another apartment and walk far away, since she likes staying alone..then get yourself a 21 year old hottie and Bleep twice daily, double on weekends. Don't make the mistake of getting another old tired layer in their 30s

FamilyRe: How Can I Reduce The Hatred I Have For My Cousin Brother? by Ikea81: 5:36pm On Nov 08, 2022
Comradepreneur:
So, in 2019, my dad decided to take him in.

One night, I woke up from sleep and decided to go to the kitchen and get drinking water (my room is just outside the sitting room, and you'll have to pass the sitting room before reaching the kitchen).

I observed that my cousin wasn't on the bed when I woke up. I decided to take a peek into my sister's room and there he was standing, jerking off to my sister's face! She was barely 15!

The lights was on, and his grandmother (my dad's mom) who came visiting was also on the bed together with my sisters! Such audacity!

I couldn't even believe what I saw, and tiptoed back into my room and woke up my maternal uncle who was staying with us in order to be my witness.

After witnessing the act, the only response he gave me was [b]Why is she (my sister) feigning to sleep, while he was touching her and jerking off to her face[b].

I was shocked and couldn't even believe his utterance. Like bro! You was supposed to help me bounce on the stupid slowpoke harassing my sister, (your niece).

He just said that and left. With the little energy left with me, I opened the door, dragged my cousin brother out and warned him never to try such act again (I initially wanted to teach him a lesson he ought to never forget in his lifetime, but I was hugely disappointed with what my uncle did).

Even though I still reported him to my parents, there wasn't any punishment meted out to him.

After that incident, I completely lost the respect I had for my uncle. Agreed he had some issues with my mom (her elder sister) back then, but why extend the hatred to her children?.

After that incident, I still occasionally catch my cousin brother in the night in the sitting room, claiming to iron out his clothes. But I still maintain my anger since it's not as if I caught him going into my sister's room.

What broke the camels back, was an incident which happened last 3 weeks ago.

One of my younger sisters (she's 13) reported to my dad in the middle of the night that he caught my cousin brother in her room, jerking off at her face while trying to remove her underwear.

All my dad did was to woke me up from sleep (saying that he wants me to be the witness), and he was preaching to the boy on how his mom, is his younger sister and that he should talk if marriage should be done for him since he can't hold his sexual desires (like man, you was supposed to call me and we smack the shit out of him together!!!).

I got angry and just left them there.

The next morning, I told my mom about the incident, and she told me that my baby sister (an 8 year old) do complain to her sometimes about sharp pains in her private part.

And this happens whenever, my cousin brother is sent to take her to the room whenever she's asleep on the sitting room couch. And also, how one of my sisters told her that he once caught him trying to lift up her skirt while she was fast asleep on the couch in the middle of the night.

Right now, I'm Justin mad at myself and angry at the same time! I feel like a loser, a pussy who can't even protect his sisters.

The bastard is still living with us, in my room, and every day, my hatred for him grows stronger.

Even when my mom told his mom, her only reply was that he's still a kid, and she should forgive him. Someone who's 17!!!! For goodness sake!.

She didn't even called him out to kneel down in front of my mom and rebuke him. Nothing was done!!!! She didn't even spoke to him about the incident.

And whenever my mom makes her displeasure known to my dad, he always says that she hates his family, bla bla bla.

How can I reduce my hatred for my cousin? Or is my hatred justified?

Right now, he has been restricted into coming into the sitting room, anything past 8pm.

But still, I'm still sure things might just go back to being the same!.

My fear right now is, I'll be going for my youth service in a few months time, which means this bastard will be with my sisters unsecured!!!!
I think in your culture it's possible for cousins to marry , and even have multiple wives.....Thinking what I am thinkinghuh

WedonFindmyEx:
I think the potter man is trying, many players are playing with lack of confidence. Chelsea couldn't control midfield and no good link up with the attackers. It might be difficult if u can't control the midfield with a team that is good with tiki taka like arsenal and man city. Arsenal tried to dominate LFC, Tottenham and even MUFC. Liverpool can't spend the huge money Chelsea signed average players and still be struggling to play football or control possession. There is room for improvement on the arsenal side too, they also need squad depth especially their midfielders and attackers.
The first responsibility of a manager is to motivate his team, which is the confidence you say it's lacking. So obviously that makes him a failure already if the team is playing with zero confidence..secondly a young arsenal side needs callagher and boja from day 1. Harvertz, sterling shldnt be in this game at all...... Thirdly chelsea has possessed the game , go check the statistics ....so the ptoblem is not the ball control, but playing the wrong players everytime in the wrong positions....being very comfortable with a loss or draw, lack of leadership that Tuchel provided and zero zero tactics from potter . He shooid get lost
