I saw a job post online for the position of an ICT Engineer in a firm called EXCEL LIFESTYLE. Since i haven't heard about the firm before, i decided to Google it, to my surprise i found nothing about them. Irrespective of that fact, i decided to go ahead and apply for the post. About 10 minutes after i applied, i got an invite telling me to come today(14/10/2015) by 8am for an oral assessment(i come be like God don answer my prayer today).

Fast forward to today, i woke up by 5am, did my devotion, had my bath and started rushing down to the venue(it was like an hour from my end). Got there by exactly 7:45am.

On getting there, the surrounding looked suspicious (all this old secretariat building that have been abandoned for years, very unkempt). I felt more relaxed when i met others coming for the interview. We were about 50 in number.

On being the first person to arrive, i was interviewed first by the supposed HR manager, she had this strict attitude. She asked me about my career objective on my cv, i paraphrased it and she was like i should give it to her word to word. Kindly said i couldn't. She asked some other questions and i gladly answered and that was it. She then said i should switch off my phone and not talk to anyone and wait for stage 2.

NOW THE MAIN GIST =>After everyone was interviewed by the woman, one guy (who claims to be a staff) came to lecture us for about 4 hours (at this point i was feeling very suspicious, because i have never seen this kind of lecture at an interview before). They even played videos for us on a projector.

In summary, after all the lecture (but i must confess, the dude is a smooth/sweet talker), the guy was like any one who is interested in being a public speaker like him should pay N6000. If your not interested go home. That was the end of the screening exercise.

Am a graduate, done with service. Currently work at a radio station as an ICT Engineer(Intern). Had to take permission from my boss to go face this crap!!.. God save this country.

1. Am quiet sure you know the dangers of playing partisan politics simply because you were appointed by a politician. Going by your logic, all of Jonathan's appointees, including ministers, service chiefs and Jega should have been [if they are not already] partisan in the discharge of their duties. Am sure you know better.

2. If you are associating with people of questionable character and you are percieved to be a national threat, the SSS picks you up for interogation. Sambo Dasuki just happens to fit the profile perfectly so there is nothing wrong with him going with the SSS to answer a few questions. Freedom of association ends when you work against the interest of the nation.

3. His level of crime is beyond the scope of EFCC. He DID not only commit economic and financial crimes by supervising the misappropriation of millions out of the defense budget, he 'MAY' have been engaged is secret arms dealing to frustrate the war on the terrorists [boko haram]. Many have also died as a result of these misdeeds. You see that the issue is beyond the scope of EFCC, ICPC and SFU.

The amount of importance and relevance attached to marriage in this side of the world is the main reason for DEPRESSION, FAILURE, UNFULFILLED LIVES, PRETENSE AND UNREPORTED SUICIDE! And I’m not talking about the single folks here!

Don’t get me wrong I am not anti-marriage! I am very Pro Marriage – for the right reasons!

FOR RICHER OR POORER!!! ( hehehe I won’t even touch this before some babes will say I’m swearing for them to marry a poor man…lol…but if he does get poor you stay)

Well as for me I fear God too too much!!! We take Gods mercies for granted. Trust me if it was to swear JUJU most Nigerians will be too afraid to make these vows!!! But let me warn you. It’s worse to break a vow made before God o!!!! You are basically saying God deal with us if we don’t do this.
I watched my mother fulfill her Vows till my father died and I’m sure most us also watched and are still watching our parents fulfill their vows!

But what’s happening to us in this generation?

Please please please stop getting married because:
You are getting too old – We have a lot of 12 year olds walking around in the bodies of 30year olds! Maturity isn’t by age! It’s by the spirit! A lot of people are not spiritually mature enough!
You want to have kids! – My people if you can’t find someone and you want a child and you feel biological clock dey tick, either you adopt or do IVF/surrogacy!
Your Friends are married! – Lol. This is a big laugh … A lot of them are not HAPPY! But they will put on a show to make u feel they have one over you!
You want to cover up your sexuality – Society has pushed people into hiding so marriage is now a way to prove straightness. ..But that’s another article on the way
Money – You can have the whole world and still feel empty!
Your Pastor said… – Lol Is okay. I hope your pastor will repair and stay with both of you
Pressure from family and society – Na you go stay inside the marriage and wade the deep waters…Nobody will come and help you through the turbulent times! Marriage isn’t a bed of roses. It’s constant Hard work!

For me MARRIAGE like education is an INSTITUTION and not an OBLIGATION!

And life has shown us that neither has necessarily berthed success! Not all rich people are educated and vice versa.
Yes you need to be married to get certain appointments and positions etc. well if that’s the value you place on it. Then good luck to you. Everyman with him own. But leave others out of it!

In conclusion: Marriage to me should be a step taken when you meet someone and you just feel inside that this person understands you! They complete you! They get you! They calm your emotional storms! They lead you forward spiritually! When you combine to do anything, it’s always easier and mostly successful! That even when you fight, you can’t go for long without talking! Someone that’s patient with you! Someone that doesn’t need anything materialistic from you to make them happy! You know you are ready when no matter how many hotties u see, even though you look and applaud, the thought of your spouse makes them look plain and unexciting! Someone that makes you want to rush home every day after work! Someone you can just sit and talk about ANYTHING WITH. Someone you can gossip and laugh constantly with! Someone who inadvertently brings out all your good sides!

A TEAM MATE! A CONFIDANT! A COMRADE! A SOLDIER & FINALLY SOMEONE WHO FEELS LIKE THE HOLY SPIRITS VERSION OF A PARTNER.

I personally would not walk down the aisle until I court someone who makes me feel this way.

The favour attached to marriage is immeasurable – HE WHO FINDS A WIFE FINDS A GOOD THING! GOD ALWAYS BLESSES AND FAVORS MARRIAGES!

I’m not married, I’ve never been so I am not speaking from experience. Plus I’m not saying my opinions must be accepted.

I’m talking from a reasonable open minded point of view of a man who interacts with people on a daily basis. So this is just my take on the issue, with regards to singles.

If she says she doesn't want to take her husband's name because of her brand, it is understandable, a lot of women I know in the UK do not take up their husbands name due to some paperwork and other complications it is nothing new.

But the way this woman is going about hers is something else. Let her chill, there are women who have achieved more and still changed their surname.

But culture is dynamic
Exactly my point, which is why this is new. If culture is dynamic, you cannot use it as conservative tool. We cannot then say it has to be this because it is our culture.  My point is that it is a new thing. Things are changing. We live in a world now where women have a right to bear the name they want. So, we cannot say this is how we do it. If some women want to do it that way, that’s fine! God bless them. Some women won’t do it. I am one of those women, and nobody will come to use culture to tell me that I should do what I don’t want to do.
