Religion / Re: Why Must We Complete A Form Before Seeing A Pastor? by Iknowwhoim(m): 8:52am On Jan 26, 2009
Believers & Priesthood

In the Body of Christ, there are no class or hierarchical divisions. The only real distinction is maturity in your walk and time spent in His presence (Acts 4:13). There is no mandate or requirement to have some believers differentiated (i.e. elevated) by ordination or theological/seminary training (John 7:15)

Sir can you explain why Jesus chose 12 disciples out of a multitude and called them Apostles? Among the twelve, there was an inner 3 and a closest John.

Can you also explain Eph 4:11, He gave gift to men and to some apostles, to some prophets, to some evangelist to some pastors and teachers, for the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry. Is that not a differentiation, for a purpose?

Can you further explain why God does not have a flat hierarchy, as in God, angels, man are not all on the same level if there are no hierarchichal divisions?

I think I know God is orderly and designed hierarchy.
Don't be too simple minded thinking that all men or all christians are equal.

They are not. The fruits of righteousness you bear sets you apart from all other, and God recognises that.

I also think your statement "The only real distinction" allude to the fact that there can not be equality in calling and function.

When the money is in you hand, shebi it is still in your power to apportion as you want.
There is no big deal,  you don't want to pay tithe. Keep it now,  no wahala.
Leave those who want to pay tithe to do so.

When we all get to see Jesus,  depending on which side you will see, every man's eye will clear.
Religion / Re: Pst Chris Oyakhilome And T.b Joshua Are Secret Agent Of The Devil by Iknowwhoim(m): 8:09am On Jan 26, 2009
All,

As a rule, whatever opinion you may have of a minister of the gospel, never talk against them.

You were not there when whoever called them gave them the call.
They are answerable only to who called them.
Even when Moses was seemingly "erring" in the opinion of his sibblings - also ministers themseleves, they stood against him in a bid to check his excesses,

Guess who answered?

Moses?,  No
His followers?,  No

He who called him,  God Almighty,

Safest position to take,
Be quite and serve God for yourself.

Incidentally all the ministers of the Gosple of the subject matter who were being criticised then,  Take a look at their ministerial efforts.
It has gone far ahead of their critics.

Na wa,  God's ways are not men's ways,

A word is enough for the spiritually discerning.
Religion / Re: Questioning A Miracle Of Jesus by Iknowwhoim(m): 9:20am On Apr 10, 2006
I can't really question the miracle because I was not there and at the same time, I have to "believe" because a large majority of the world believes it. whether it was true or not can be decided by me.

Afican boy, you are really in trouble if what you belive is based on what others believe. That means today if a large enough majority does not believe in a particular thing, you will change not because you are convinced in your heart.

Have you ever read that scripture?
Did you not notice that it said the disciples were toiling in their rowing and the wind was contrary? The wind was boisterious, and there were waves. If there were waves, would it not have smashed the ice?
I'm not sure you know what the term almighty is. If you knew, you'd know that God is. If that same professor can to dispute that Jesus rose from the dead, I bet you'll likely be wanting the opinion of the forum.

Can a miracle be performed spiritually nowadays? I mean, can Jesus intefere in the affairs of man and perform a miracle. Maybe, Maybe not If yes, should we question or accept, ?

You obviously don't have a clue about covenants. If you did, you'd not wonder if miracles are performed spiritually nowadays.
What is a miracle if not God's supernatural intervention in the affairs of men?
Religion / Re: What Happens When We Die? by Iknowwhoim(m): 8:56am On Apr 10, 2006
The Background
To know what happens to someone who dies, it is important first of all to know the make up of man.
Man is essentially a spirit, he has a soul and lives in a body. Many people erroneously do not know that they are not the body that is seen and can be touched.

God, created man in His image and likeness. . When He said let us make man in our image, after our likeness, he merely formed a casing that would limit the spirit of man on earth so he can function here on earth. After making the body, it was lifeless until God breathed into the body, then it became a living soul.

Spirits cannot function on earth. The only way they can function is to in-dwell a body. Job 10:11
Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews. The me in that portion is the spiritual man; it is the real man, the body is the casing.

Again in the story of Lazarus and the rich man, the bible lets us know that there is a continued existence of the spirit of man beyond the experience of death. There you would see that the rich man though dead, where ever he was, he could see Abraham and Lazarus, he could hear Abraham talk, he could talk to Father Abraham, he could remember his life on earth.

Difference btn Spirit & Soul
There is a distinction between the spirit and the soul. Heb 4:12 The word of God is quick and powerful , sharper than any two edged sword, piercing to the dividing assunder of soul and spirit,

The soul on man is the seat of his emotions, intellect, reasoning and decision making. The soul of man can be likened to the CPU of a computer. Take the CPU of a computer away, and what do you have? You have a nice looking box that can not be fed with input and cannot give any output.

Take the brain of man away and you have a vegetable. But at death, the soul and the spirit are an integral whole. That was why the rich man could remember his life on earth.

What happens when one dies

The bible is clear on that. For a Christian, like Paul the Apostle said, for me to live is Christ and to dies is gain. He also said - Php 1:23
For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:
It is obvious that before Christ comes, those that choose to die will be with Christ.

I believe that I am addressing a christian forum. The converse is true for those that are not without Christ.

Is Death inevitable?

Someone wrote in this forum that death is inevitable. I disagree.
1Co 15:51
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
2Ti 1:10 - Show Context
But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
1 Thess4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort F11 one another with these words.

Death and life are one of the many choices of life that we make based on what you have believed.

He is not man enough to be married. He does not know what marriage is all about. You'll not be the last on the queue. He should pray abbout his marriage for God to give him understanding about how to make it work.

Religion / Re: Is Bible The Word of God? by Iknowwhoim(m): 5:17pm On Feb 21, 2006
Luridguy,

Contains the word of God is different frfom the word of God.
Why not quote "if you be the son of God, command that these stones be made bread"
Those was Lucifer's words.
Try quoting Job 17 also with all the curses.

The bible contains God's word, words of men, both righteous and otherwise, words of demons ("if thou cast us out, bid us to go into the swines"), words of angels etc.

Now there were time that those sent by God gave a reported speech from God. That in its reported speech form is the word of God from God.

Holy men anointed by God's Spirit spoke as the Spirit moved the (as they were inspired by the Holy Spirit) to put down the compendium of the bible.

Don't forget the bible talks about the errors of the Jews are for our learning so we don't fall into the same errors.

It also says we should follow the fith of those who have achieved.

Religion / Re: Christians: Your Opinion On Restitution by Iknowwhoim(m): 5:49pm On Feb 19, 2006
The Bible did not say that polygamy is a sin. Apostle Paul only made reference to it concerning that appointment of Bishops, Deacons and some other church leaders that they be people with only one wife. Deyemi

Deyemi is correct.

A ploygamist that is born again is still a child of God.
He only cannot aspire to leadership.

How would a man who raped a lady make restitution when he is born again??
Religion / Re: How Do You Know When You Found The Right Man/Woman, That God has Chosen by Iknowwhoim(m): 5:39pm On Feb 19, 2006
Incidentally lots of unmarried folks (and married ones at that) don't have the faintest idea about marriage.

I ask intending couples who want to get married a simple question:

Que: What is the principal purpose for marriage?
Ans1: Companionship - you don't have to be married to have a companion
Ans2: Procreation - There are several children out of wedlock (I don't condone it)
Ans3: For this reason shall a man,
Ans4: To avoid fornication - something caused the fornication. Marriage would not solve it.

How sad reasons to get married

Gen 2:8,15 in context states that God planted a garden and place the man in the garden to tend it and keep it.
That is responsibility.

Later on Gen 2:18 and God said "It is not good that the man should be alone, I will make him an help meet (suitable) for him."

In other words he would do a better job of the the responsibility given to him if he had help. God's focus was the job at hand; thet it be done well.

Now you'd think that God realising after observation of His CEO in the garden as he was working would bring him a wife and presto!

What did God do? He started to bring all the animals to Adam to see if they could help him. Alas there was no help

19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

In other words God's first option was not a wife. A woman was the last resort for God.

The CALL and success in the CALL was what was upper most in God's mind.

Once you can recognise God's call on your life, your half way through to knowing.
Knowing your calling is central to knowing who to get married to or at least who not to get involved with.
If the one you calim "loves" you does not help you in you call and make you a greater achiever towards your call, watch out!!!!

All of you who are against tithing. Simple keep your money. At least no one can force you to do what you don't want to do, Not even God can. As for all who believe in tithing like I do, keep on PAYING you tithes. May the good word of the Lord be fulfilled in your lives.
Religion / Re: Christianity : Religion Vs Relationship by Iknowwhoim(m): 4:51pm On Feb 19, 2006
Religion was the problem of the Old testament as delivered to the Jews.

A fault was found with the old that was why a new had to be instituted.

Religion deals with laws which did not acieve the objective that God had in mind

In the Ot, they had to obey.
In the NT you LOVE
That is an attribute of a relationship.
God dreamt of a relationship with a people.

Question is what bound Jesus to God?

Religion or relationship.

"I and the father are one"
"The son can do nothing of Himself but what He sees the Father do, "
"I can of myself do nothing, but what I see the Father do, that I do"

This sound more "relationship" than religion.

Chritianity is about a Man sent fron God. Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Its about a man whose works and days are still being prolonged, long after He has left the scene.

Remember Gamaliel said (paraphrase) "some men came in their name and they left and their doctrine has fizzled out. Leave these me alone, If they are not from God, their dctrine will fizzle out. But if from God, you'll be fighting against God."

Chritainity is not a religion.

Not every thing you read in the new papers -especially soft sell- is to be believed.

They'd write lies about you too if they without any compuction and apology.

They seem to know their prey more than even their family members.
Religion / Re: Smoking, Sin Or Not? by Iknowwhoim(m): 4:03pm On Feb 18, 2006
Whoever said smoking was a sin, AND WHY?? where in the bible does GOD condemn smokin'?? Do u know that some people r advised by dr's 2 smoke? The bible does not tell us 2 smoke nor does it tell us not 2 CHIKENA!!

It depend on who you are.

I once saw a man smoking. A car started beside him and let out some exhaust fumes.
He waved his hands across his nose to avoid inhaling the fumes.
Now who is decieving whom?

To us who know our source, though not explicitly stated in the bible,
We have chosen not to indulge in it in our country where we heil from.
