Unlike Samsung, Xiaomi takes good care of virtually all their phones, that's why the likes of the Redmi 2 still got the Miui 9 update. After one and a half year,all phones won't be current because of trend, but good ones remain relevant. If you handle a Redmi note 2 or 3 pro, you'll see they look more advanced than devices of same year from our local champions

Many phone manufacturers in the world dont even bother updating their Midrange devices, Xiaomi is doing fine, many who manage to provide an upgrade don't support such devices after updating just once or twice.

Redmi note 5 pro was launched a year ago with nougat. So the last bus stop is oreo.

Do you know the number of devices that xiaomi currently have? It's like saying Samsung should offer 2yrs of Android updates and 3yrs of security patches for all of their devices.


The flagship devices do get the 2/3 yrs of OS updates etc, can't do that for the midrangers and budget phones. So long your phone keeps getting the latest MIUI versions, that's all that matters.

I ve used Mr Noobody's cheap dollars <#359/$ to order Redmi 5 Plus and Redmi Note 5 from Aliexpress. I just sent d Aliexpress links to him and he ordered on my behalf. I got one within 10 days and second one like 3 weeks from order day. This offer is opened to anyone.
