Hey guyz, Just recently, I was wondering about the nairaland topic that must have generated the strongest passion among us, most interesting, and which must have drawn the greatest number of nairaland members to it. In my own opinion, I think it must have been that particular topic created by Sam (obo) which is "Share Your Sexiest, Craziest, Funniest Or Unforgettable Experience On Nairaland by sam(obo)" What do you think guys? As for me, this is my best thread on nairaland that got me hooked when it was trending....so much of hillarious, amusing & mind captivating stories was dropped there... Do u disagree with me? Drop yours lets see! |

Egemole: u must be an imbeci.le to have quoted the whole article, only to drop one line. RIP to the dead, some Ladies need both intensive & extensive training before a car key is thrown at them. They are mostly naive when it comes to technical issues. All cars with airbags have such warning signs about keeping kids in front seats...its total negligence & or ignorance on the mum's part not to heed to that. Once again, RIP poor little girl |
The full text here The Peoples Democratic Party has begun desperate moves to prevent governors elected on its platform as well as its members from carrying out their threat to defect to the newly formed All Progressives Congress. This follows indicationsthat no fewer than 12 PDP governors as well as many of the party’s members in the national and state assemblies and its 36 state chapters were being wooed by APC chieftains. Some of the governors had told PDP leaders last week that they would leave the fold in protest at the disdain which President Goodluck Jonathan and the party leadership had shown for them. Saturday PUNCH learnt that the PDP had moved to stop a mass defection by embarkingon a sudden reconciliation drive, to stop estranged members from defecting to the APC. The three major political parties that merged to form the APC are the Action Congress of Nigeria, All Nigeria Peoples Party and the Congress for Progressive Change. Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, is also involved in APC. The panic within the ruling party was responsible for the hurried formation of the PDP Governors Forum, which came few days after the opposition governors announced the formation of the Progressive Governors Forum. Findings by our correspondent showed that the leadership of the party was not comfortable with the coming together of the opposition parties. The National Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Bamanga Tukur, lent credence to this state of panic in a telephone interview with our correspondent on Thursday morning, when he said the opposition should not expect his party to sleep when it (opposition) was busy strategising. “So, you expect our party to go to sleep when others are planning ahead? That isnot possible,” he said. It was on this basis that governors elected on the platform of the party met with leaders of the party from South-West PDP in Abuja on Thursday evening, asking them to sheath their swords and come together in the interest of the party. Four of the governors spoke the minds of their colleagues at a meeting they had with the party leaders at the Katsina Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja. The governors are Ibrahim Shema (Katsina), Gabriel Suswan (Benue), Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta) and Martin Elechi(Ebonyi). These governors are members of the PDPGF Reconciliatory Committee put together to resolve thecrises rocking the partyin the South-West. The other member of the committee, Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State, did not attend the meeting. He was said to be in President’s Goodluck Jonathan’s entourage to Borno and Yobe states. Shema, who is the chairman of the committee, said, “We are to reconcile all the factions. I want you to come to the table with open hands. God has blessed this party by putting it at the helm of affairs of the country since 1999. “We need to work together and resolve the crises and that is why we are here.” Elechi said, “We won’t impose our decision on you. We will allow you to take decisions in the interest of the party. Just let peace reign in the party in the zone.” Also speaking, Suswamsaid, “We will listen to you state by state. Then take the zone together. We will want you to be sincere with us.” Uduaghan said, “The party is not happy withthe problems facing theparty in the zone. That is why we are here. Please, allow peace to reign and open your heats to us so that wecan solve the problems.” A member of the partyfrom Ekiti State, Ayo Arise, had told the committee that those in attendance were notquarrelling. He said those who were against the group from his state were not invited to the meeting. But Shema said that would be taken care of later, adding that he was aware of the existence of factions inthe party’s state chapters. Among those at the meeting were a formergovernor of Ekiti State, Mr. Segun Oni; Chief Bode Mustapha...contd |

Billyonaire: Vote GEJ come 2015Now broda, be sincere with us pls, what has Youwin promo got to do with GEJ & 2015? Or has it turned to campaign strategy too? My broda, U shocked me with that comment! |
dougivilla: And replace him with ..? Must you hate just for the sake of it?U mean there is no single qualified human being among the 170 million Nigerians to gun for the top-shot? Including u? Broda, Ur statement shocks!! |
nollywood200:Actually, I have constrained myself severally, not to judge my fellow nairalanders by what they write here. Nollywood, tell me where are u frm in Orlu?....ur posts shocks the hell outa'f me, seriously! NOLLYWOOD, UR COMMENTS SHOCKS ME! * Duruebube Ebenezer Ikenna |
Ikology: APC a is party merger whose motive is to ensure that presidency returns to the north, while the southwest use the VP slot as a means to sneak into Aso rock againOk, and ur point is...? Does PDP have plans to field any SE come 2015? Good leadership skills,or the lack of it, has nothing to do with ethnicity. If you think about it, in 150-200 years we will probably be so mixed,Igbo, Ijaw, Yoruba et al may be meaningless tags. We simply have to embrace, as the rest of the world has done , the idea of looking individually at the history of those who wish to lead. Its pointless embracing sentiments to choose mediocre leaders and then going on to blame all manner of extraneous considerations for their poor showing when it was always very obvious, had we shunned sentiments and done our homework, that they were not good leaders to begin with. * Duruebube Ebenezer Ikenna |
asha 80: like i quoted you earlier which you somehow missed better tell to focus strongly on governance in imo state instead of this distraction he is bringing unto himself.i can now see he is now beginning to organise interactive press briefing unlike last year where he was more busy promising all sorts.with the press briefing now he would get to know the true feelings of what is happening with masses and the effectiveness or not of his policies. My good brother, goodmorning dear...I saw ur earlier quote & comment, was a lil busy @work then Truth be told, Rochas is a politician...I mean a hardcore one with resilience. Bt he's just happened to be philantropic & mass endearing. He really has a good heart & mindset to work for the masses, but again he happens to be a talkative. Thats him. We hope the minds of 'us' the people will get to him this time around through these press programmes, cos actually he's surrounded by AGIPs (any government in power), political jobbers & sycophants. Actually I'm his kinsman, but that doesnt mean I wld hesitate to kick his butts anytime he flops big down. For the sake of history, Rochas talks unecessarily, but he works. * Duruebube Ebenezer Ikenna |
One_Naira: Okorocha mechionu gi. We know the reason you joined APC, you didn't do it for the people nor for SE, if you did, you would have listened to the people right now. The people are telling you "they want no hand in APC, get out". Why you no dey listen? Abeg waka. You joined for your own selfish reasons. I hope APC gives you that relevancy you dey look for, if not, you know how Igbo people will do you. We'll ridicule you till the day you die. Every single Igbo community even ones you no dey governor, We'll continue to watch until the sh1t hits the fan and my friend, the kain insult you get. I pity you sha.My brother, like seriously u just wrote that? I mean why such an outright position on an issue that just transpired, wen there no basis yet for disclaimancy? Now, give me one cogent reason on why Rochas should not join APC, and where he should remain. Who are the people clamouring for his withdrawal frm the just few weeks-old merge? & what are their reasons? Where do they want him to join? My brother, i need ur urgent answers please, cos now i'm beginning to be wary of those i trust their sense of judgement on nairaland. Although it wld have bn easier if u'd speak for urself. Actually, there seems to be a shudder of feelings sweeping the countryside recently, concerning this merger case, some are excited....others are panicking!!! * Duruebube Ebenezer Ikenna |
nollywood200: This silly gov of imo state has been moving from one party to another like un-mourned coups.Come'on...lets not comment like brain-deads. How can one human being be in all those parties u mentioned within 13years? Ur comment shows the extent people can go wen they are so desperate & stup!d to discredit someone. I live in Imo state, actually Rochas had some setbacks in his works last year ending, due to glitches with contractors & contracting pattern. He also committed some administrative blunders, caused mainly by some of his political advisers cum-sycophants. However, early this year, most of the problems have bn resolved & work is currently going on in earnest along Orlu-Owerri Rd, Owerri, Orlu & Okigwe Mayoral Districts. For realistical indulgence, We need to be aware of Imo's total revenue (federal & internal) & their civil service strenght, if we wish to analyse Imo state's rate of infrastructural installations. Btw, Rochas can convince South-East the need to vote for APC, if he can, through sincere project & people-oriented programmes, prove to us that PDP is the worst thing that ever befell Nigeria. * Duruebube Ebenezer Ikenna |
ojubi: Shame on Amechi, shame on all rivers people.Amaechi tried very well in his first tenure, bt seems to slow down dis time..it doesnt call for shame on Rivers people. Sir, point of correction, East west Road is a federal road, not state. The FG have bn awarding reconstruction & dualisation of the road since Obj regime, & it has recieved over 1,753 patch works since then. Nwanne ighotago? |
VANITY..... I recall my dad tellin me about a man in my Neighborhood who became popular for engaging in money rituals just to buy the 80's edition of the Honda Prelude. You wouldn't buy that car for 50k today. I Remember as a kid, my whole street converged to watch a truck deliverd avery large satellite dish to my neighbor's house. Today a dish one tenth that size delivers 5 times the value and is in almost every student hostel room. What about the Volkswagen Santana, Mercedes Benz V booth, 505 cocaine, all overtaken by Camry,Honda discussions and Infinity?.... Vanity. A friend declared drinks for the boys because he just launched the Nokia Communicator for over a hundred grand in 2002. Today that phone would embarrass the owner and is a joke compared to the low cost and everyday phone. What about d MTN sim card dat many people went extra miles b4 dey bought it for over 30k, today u will not buy it at N200. People are still making the most amazing sacrifices over the 'vainest' of things, make enemies over worthless material things. What can I Say? Look back at that one thing you want to kill or die for today and see what becomes of it tomorrow. Slow down with the sense of attachment and blind pursuit of things, for today's 'gold' is tomorrow's 'copper'... |
