Kachi188: No need to misunderstand †ђξ president's speech....he chose to be blunt for a reason. To remind those beating †ђξ drums of war aπϑ violence τ̣̣ђat syria will be †ђξ end product, unless they quit it. There comes a time when you have to keep †ђξ diplomatic bullshit at a corner, aπϑ address issues for what they are worth, especially when †ђξ soul of your nation iڰ at stake. If we continue like this, it will get to †ђξ point where even syrians will see us aπϑ say 'thank God, ours iڰ not as bad as Nigeria'
A word iڰ enough for †ђξ wise

This iڰ †ђξ original text of. †ђξ speech, read it aπϑ understand †ђξ context under which he compared both...

"19. And I tell you, more than anything else, there are lessons
to learn, and every cause to be thankful. If I must cite one
example, take Syria. As we all pray and work for a return to
normalcy in Syria, it would be helpful for us to reflect on the
fact that Syria was once a peaceful, thriving, multi-cultural
nation which played host to a mosaic of religions and
ethnicities.
20. But that once idyllic nation has today become a theatre of
human misery of unimaginable proportions as a result of the
activities of extremist forces.
21. Fellow Nigerians, the spectre of extremism haunts every
democracy in every corner of the globe. While we celebrate
our independence and good fortune, our hearts must grieve
for those who have lost loved ones in numerous terrorist
activities around the world."
God bless you for thinking differently from those mumus.

These same folks transit through countries in Europe or even spend a day in Europe and come here to yearn and compare Nigeria with European countries, when calamities occur in America, they gladly compare Nigeria to America. When problems happen abroad, they open threads comparing Nigeria to those countries. But the President makes a comparison, and bingo, there seat is hot and cant contain them any more.

Most people cant even quote what he said, yet they read the OPs statement and they begin to have high blood pressure.

WHATEVER THIS MAN SAYS, YOU WILL FIND A REASON SOMEWHERE IN YOUR BIASED MIND TO QUESTION IT. FC.UK. GIVE IT UP. WHY HASNT ANYONE HID THIS THREAD JUST AS THE OP IS KNOWN TO DO?

I am sure he raised this point because the President is speaking against the OPs evil Islam.

MJBUSA: Thank you to "dasparrow" and the few educated and schooled people who responded. Your advice was invaluable and I will take them to heart.

To the uneducated, ignorant, uneducated, unschooled and classless commenters: idiots like you are the reasons why Nigeria, albeit a wealthy country, will never progress. Your comments show who you are as people and I hope you're NOT raising your kids that way. Your ignorance is astounding. I'm a White guy who has taken to the Nigerian culture. My wife is Nigerian, although she's never been to Nigeria. I do business with Nigeria and I've been for many years, my charity organization is solely to assist Nigerian kids to get the best education. For personal reasons, I haven't been to Nigeria in more than 5 years and I came here expecting to learn something different but I'm met with ignorant, comments from uneducated bush people. How dare you? You acted like a bunch of animalistic lunatics who need to be under medical supervision. Even though your command of the English Grammar was abysmal, I managed to understand what you wrote. You sounded pathetic and jealous. I suggest you take your untamed anger and learn how to write proper English language. You disgraced yourself but thankfully, your comments are not reminiscent of most Nigerians who are friendly and helpful. You're a bunch of idiots who should hang your heads in shame! I doubt you will ever find success in your life with attitudes like this. You wonder why the country is a mess? You're the problem in the country!!! Even if you had criticisms, they could have been constructive criticisms not the venom you all spewed! I will share your comments on my facebook wall and will also share "Dasapprow"s comments so people can recognize the difference between educated and uneducated Nigerians. Getting a fake college degree doesn't make you educated. You're incapable of responding to a basic question in a civilized manner. What the hell am I doing on this website? I feel sorry for the country with attitudes like these!!! Deuces!
LOL. Bla bla bla. You must be pained because people told you what you dont want to hear. You are a white guy so what? We should start jubilating? Or we should retract our comments because you are white?

Your wife is Nigerian, and she's never been to Nigeria, yet you call her Nigerian. LOL. Its arrogance and crass to call people names because you dont like the comments they made, why come to a public forum if you know you wont be tolerant of other people's views? I tire for your kind of white man sha. By the way, you type and write like a black man, nothing else.

Tell me one thing you have mentioned that doesnt happen in which ever country you come from. Tell me. Armed robbery and police brutality, tell me how that is special to Nigeria alone. O boy, if you want to talk rash against someone's else country like you did, then expect such comments like you got. simple. Not all of us use our left hand to point to our father's house, those who do that are called bastards. Punch.

Like someone said, no matter how bad my country s, I love my country and will not stand watching while someone talks rash about it when I know most of his or her assertions are baseless and un necessary balderdash.

Are you any better than the scores of white or foreign people I see on Airplanes which come to Nigeria on a daily basis? Are you any better than the scores I see in Lagos Abuja PH Kano etc on a daily basis?
TravelRe: I'm Always Scared To Visit Nigeria! by ilaugh1: 8:22pm On Oct 02, 2013
Chinwem: @ dasparrow , well said!!

@OP, I hope by now you ve realised that there are many bitter and frustrated people in Nigeria who tend to despise people coming from overseas for reasons best known to Them, evidenced by the nature of people's comments here in response to a genuine concern of yours

You can't expect someone who is probably not sure of their next meal, daily frustrated by corrupt police , no light, no water, ASUU strike, insecurity at home and on the road .....etc to radiate much happiness or basic human courtesy

A simple query was made by OP and see the amount of toxic venom that has been spewed out by people who were not forced to comment....smh

Dasparrow has said it all Op. kindly take her advice. Goodluck
Comments like this shows the frustration of some people. Why will people despise people coming to Nigeria from abroad? Haba. So you want people to make only the comment you and the op want to hear. Life aint like that mate.

I live in the UK since 2002 and I come home every 3 months, and I have now settled back in Nigeria since 2011 and all these negative things you talked about never held me back, and now I run my own business, live in my own mansion and raising up my kids in the same Nigeria. PoliticsRe: President Jonathan Leads 600-man Delegation To UN General Assembly - SaharaRepo by ilaugh1: 11:19pm On Sep 22, 2013
We have noted with regret the continuation
today by SaharaReporters.com of its usual
scurrilous and baseless attacks on the
Jonathan Administration with publication of a
false claim that the President is leading a 600-
man delegation to the 68th Session of the
United Nations General Assembly in New York.
While we trust that discerning members of the
public who are already very familiar with
SaharaReporters’ usual fare of mischief,
outright falsehood and erroneous speculation
will rightly dismiss this latest claim as a fresh
manifestation of the online medium’s ill-will
towards President Jonathan and his
administration, we wish to affirm for the
benefit of the unwary that there is absolutely
no truth in the allegation that the President
took a 600-man delegation to New York.
There is also no substance to the rehashed
charge of profligacy which SaharaReporters
annually makes against the President when he
leads Nigeria’s delegation to the UN General
Assembly.
The truth is that less than 30 persons arrived
in New York with the President this morning
as members of his entourage. Other than
them, the only other persons who are in New
York for the UN General Assembly with the
President’s knowledge and approval are
relevant ministers and few essential aides.
President Jonathan’s official delegation is
definitely not out of proportion with Nigeria’s
size, role and relevance in Africa and the
global community.
SaharReporters’ claim that the President’s
delegation is the largest at this year’s General
Assembly is an unjustifiable fabrication which
can never stand any rigorous test of
truthfulness.
We are certainly aware that many Nigerian
citizens are currently on visits to New York.
These persons are here for their own purposes
and neither President Jonathan nor his
administration has any responsibility for the
presence of these persons in New York.
We will not be surprised if it is such persons
who include Nigerian businessmen who are
here for an African Business Roundtable
event, members of non-governmental
organizations and tourists that
SaharaReporters has been counting, for the
sole purpose of mischief-making, as “members
of the Nigerian delegation”.
