The man is actually trying to match words with action while also running mouth as usual...but we love him!

I'll put up more details about him and his government subsequently...

How is he planning to generate revenue? I mean, what is he actually doing besides parading his toutishness in the market place?

me think that yorubas are rather too barbaric and stark backward in their thinking and way of life. you made mention of the british, do the british do fetish things like the yorubas did with their oba? why is the oba had to go to the forest? probably to fortify himself for merely world dirty throne in the backward yorubaland?

Don't igbos do fetish things? Don't igbos do rituals in their evil forest and okija shrine?

When Nigeria Divides?

So, Yoruba's are thinking of a future Oduduwa Nation?

P.S, there's nothing like non yoruba kogi people - the state is multi-ethnic.
Be specific of the tribe you are talking about next time.

About 4 ethnic groups in Kogi and 6 smaller minority groups.

In order of population and land mass
Igala,
Ebira,
Okun (a Yoruba Group)

with other minorities like
Bassa- in Lokoja,
Ogugu- subgroup of the Igala,
Gwari,
Kakanda,
Oworo people (A Yoruba Group),
ogori magongo,
And Eggan community.

Never heard of Oworo people.

Should Nigeria divide, how will Kogi divide?

Are you from Kogi state?

My sister, e no be fight o. Cool down.

Ko concern Southerners.

Any Yoruba still living in Borno is doing himself a great disservice. He's not doing the Yoruba race.

Sincerely, I care less. That is APC's headache.

Why on earth will the party or even INEC not ask for certificate of sound health from contestants?

lmao are you just distancing yourself from APC [I don't blame you] or have you been doing that for a while?

Something tells me that a lot of Nigerians don't care about health until the homeostasis of their physiology becomes unbalanced.

TBH, me thinks they probably know and still used him to campaign for the face of APC... but I don't think it's because Tinubu wants to install Yoruba in Kogi, else he'd have started with Kwara state [80% Yorubaland (Kwara) vs 20% Yorubaland (20%)].

Youths Threaten To Kill ‘prophet’ For Failing To ‘resurrect’ Audu

The remains of former Kogi governor, Prince Abubakar Audu was this afternoon laid to rest at Ogbonicha, Ofu Local Government Area. The burial took place at his residence.

The burial rites were conducted by a team of Imams from across Igalaland.
Controversy had trailed the burial of the former governor when rumour filtered into town that he had resurrected. A prophet had earlier promised to revive Audu to life.

There was mild drama between the prophet and members of the Audu family, who had refused to let him in. The youths of Ogbonicha broke the door to the room where Audu was laid to allow the prophet gain access.

However, the prophet failed to resurrect Audu, prompting the youths to go berserk, threatening to kill the prophet.
The burial was well attended as scores of the who-is-who in Nigerian politics as well as members of the business community were in Ogbonicha to give their last respect to the departed hero.
There was an ocean of tears when his body was lowered into the grave.

Igala people, how far? grin grin grin grin grin

It is not the Ebiras, it is the Igalas, you meant to say...

Okun & Ebira are in the minority in the state...

Ilekehd,

Tribe is the NO1 factor in ANYTHING in this contraption, The Igalas will rather hell rain down than willingly give their votes to one that doesn't belong to them....

I was laughing when people were Crucifying both parties for presenting their SIX & HALF A DOZEN but both parties knew the race will be DOA if they dare present anyone that isn't Igala in Kogi ..

Politics is a game of Nos, any political party will think of the individual who has the clout to command the nos & clean up the person's image

But it's not like Yorubas are trying to dominate anyone.

We're quiet peaceful loving folks.

And how dare someone even tries to bring up Lagos state. Igbos were never natives of Lagos state, Yorubas on the other had own a part of Kogi state, so we deserve the national cake too tongue

I don't know where you got that from. They are a separate ethnicity.

Though, due to their proximity to yorubaland, there has been acculturisation over the centuries. They ain;t yoruba in anyway.

I'm trying to understand what's going on right now with the whole Audu vs Faleke sheninigans.

Here's a post from a nler

NaijaTalkTown:
Barely 24 hours after the death of Prince Abubakar Audu, none of the APC leaders have come out to express their 'shock' over the bad news probably because they are not in shock! The mistery surrounding the death of Mr. Audu suggests that he was poisoned by some powerful forces within the APC.

Infact, I and majority of the Igala race now have the sentiment that Audu was killed in other to pave way for Faleke. But INEC's decision to declare the election inconclusive have ruined that plan. The Igalas are once again being forced to vote base on tribal sentiment.

Audu was more than just a politician to us. He was our beloved leader. If this is how the Okuns plan to hijack power in Kogi state, then we are ready to treat them like the minority they are. Their combination with Ebira people cannot do anything. We tried our best to maintain balance of power. We are no longer ready to appease anybody. In democracy, majority means power. We will excercise that power.

Until an Ibo person becomes the governor of Lagos state, a none Igala will not govern Kogi. I urge Capt. Idris Wada and the PDP to use this opportunity to redeem theirselves through good governance and accountability.

If Igalas truly feel that the Yorubas/Tinubu killed Audu to pave way for a Yoruba man, shouldn't they ignore the religious rite and do an autopsy on Audu's body?

I'm trying to get a sense of what's going on.

Yeah he is yoruba. Ifa-leke.

The tribe is relevant because Igbiras see Kogi State as their home state and they have the population to perpetrate themselves in power, except by divine intervention. You can't fault them.

The Sarakis hold on Kwara State is a story for another day.

What's Yoruba's business with awon egbira?

I thought they don't see themselves as Yorubas, hence my question, why is it a victory for Yoruba people?

The Supreme Court has established that the candidacy belongs to the party in any election, rather than individual actually contesting. That is why you will have to vacate your seat if you defect to another party now. If the party alo expel you, they cannot ask you to vacate your position until expiration of your tenure, except you a legislator that can be recalled by the constituency. This protects the party from defection and the individual from victimisation.

In that light, the flagbearer for APC is technically Faleke. Though it is not Faleke that is contesting, but APC. He can only name his deputy after the swearing in, which he will send to the state house of assembly for approval.

I heard that the victory went to the Yorubas in Kogi state. Is Faleke a Yoruba name?

I don't know why it's relevant for tribe to be mentioned in this case scenario.

I'm still wondering when Yorubas will rid themselves of the Saraki family in Kwara state.

You sound like an oyinbo. They were not fighting, but were having a funny discussion. I think I may have a recording of meself on youtube speaking Ilaje. It's an old recording, so I have to dig through Youtube.

Regarding Ilaje names, some of our names are written in the standard Yoruba language, while others maintain their distinctive Ilaje flair.

Here are some Ilaje names:
Emiloju - Emi lo ju
Meseghan - Mi o se won
Mabamije - Ma bami je
Oloronjughan - Olorun ju won
Oraise - Ori ti ko se
Emopin - A ko mo opin
Omawunmi - Omowunmi (Isekiri write OMAWUMI)
Molewato
Ayanfe

The names are taken from my family. My own name is also among.

Lene - ta lo ni (was a most Reverend Apostle of the Zion Movement. Ilaje are traditionally adherent of the Cherub and Seraph church)
Megbodofo - Mi o gbudo so
Elebiju - eniti o lebi lo ju
Ebiesuwa - Ebi o se iwa
Ojagbohunmi - ilu gbohun mi (Ilajes call "ilu" Oja, and call "oja" obon. Mo nlo si oja ni Ilaje ni: Mo mi yu obon. Mo nlo si ilu a je: Mo mi yu oja. Ago ni a npe abule ni Ilaje.
Semudara - was also a popular priest/prince

Before, the Ilaje gospel singers of the seventies and eighties used to sing in Ilaje, but they now use the standard Yoruba to appeal to more audience.
I wished I took my audio cassettes with me when I left Nigeria in the days of yore.

So cool.

Mii si nibi ti mo le wo awon youtube yen ni sin. Ti n ba ti wo, ma comment.

The names sounds very Yoruba.

Although you talk as if Ilaje is not a subgroup of Yorubas..... does each subgroup [ekiti, ilaje, ijesa etc] have its own distinct names?
