Iamgrey5:
Lagos colony was under British not Oba Dosumu

Oba Dosumu already signed a treaty as far back as early 1800hs and Yoruba hinterlands were annexed to Lagos colony after the Yoruba civil war in which ibadan was at the centre.
I meant Lagos colony was the land taken from Oba Dosunmu.

Yoruba hinterland was never part of Lagos colony not even when Dosunmu was kinging....

The British were after the sea port so as to influence the war and affairs of hinterland.

Dosunmus authority never surpassed the island sir.

Yoruba hinterland was never at any point part of Lagos colony.

Rather Lagos colony was joined with the south later in 1906

Iamgrey5:
Most part of Yoruba land was never part of Southern Nigeria proctectorate until 1906
Lagos was excised ad a crown colony.

It was governed separately until 1906.

I am still surprised u said Lagos colony comprises all Yoruba land. Never.

The crown colony was King Dosunmus domain and not even the whole of Lagos as it is today.

Lagos colony comprised Western Nigeria. (referred to as hinterland Yoruba states)

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lagos_Colony
The voice of my education as a govt teacher disagrees entirely.

There were two almagamations in Nigerias history, one in 1906 when the Crown colony of Lagos was Incorporated into the southern protectorate .....

The other one in 1914, north and south combined to born Nigeria.

The crown colony of Lagos was what it was, Oba dosunmu wasn't the king of the west now.
