Longlegs is performing fantastically at the box office. Solid even for an R rated horror. MaXxine seems to suffer for it. I'm not surprised, the marketing of the movie has been nothing short of amazing |

nairaman66: If you know how many people who died during the capitol riots influenced by trump, dude can do anything. Are you aware that a bystander told the SS about a person with a rifle opposite them before the shooting? You're so fckin dumb! How did Trump influence the Jan 6 riots? He never said anyone should go to the Capitol building, it's the same guy that immediately he heard of the riots there, he posted a video condemning the incident and it was immediately deleted by Twitter at that time! How would a thousand people storm a US Senate Building and nothing was done! The Police there allowed it to happen in an attempt to leverage against Trump. Anyone who says this is rigged hasn't watched the video or is just bat dumb and crazy |

jikins: Exactly why I said they most likely tore it all down after the end of GOT? And no one said Harrenhal will be the same but if HOTD was made immediately after GOT the logical thing is to reuse what you have while making necessary adjustments no? No it's not logical because it's won't be the same production crew? The only thing they could reuse is the architectural drawings but it has to immediately be torn down? The same thing goes for sets of Harrenhal in s2 and s4, they'd to redo the sets again |
TV/Movies › Re: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by Illusioneffect(m): 9:06am On Jul 13, 2024 |
jikins: Interesting one would have thought they would reuse the set from GOT. I mean they had alot of the current locations even Harrenhall where Ayra met no one. Well it is possible it was all tore down after it ended. Every Land used for production is for lease or rent. Do you think they'd continue paying for a set for 5 years that's of no use. Plus Harrenhal is different 170 years from Ayra's time |

oyaskii: and between S1 and S2 of HOTD, the production design set is totally different right? Is that what you are trying to say? Oh please. There is no valid reason for HOTD seasons to have a year interval and it's only the Dragons that are sparsely shown that even require heavy VFX work, the other effects are basically green room effects.
I can listen to fantasy shows taking time, so what is the excuse for drama shows? or sci fi shows that require very little vfx input?
The fact remains, the longer they hold on to these shows, the more relevancy and merch they can sponge off these shows, them not been able to make it as quickly as possible because of the reasons you stated are far from it, is very far from it. I listened to a pod on show making sometime ago, and I got to know that showrunners back in the day, already have a plan for the writing of the show from start to finish, making them easier to film between years. Wtf are you saying? So you don't see a difference between HoTD S1 and S2? They're how many locations in S1 and S2? How many VFX shots for dragons and dragon battles did you seen in S1. They had to create Harrenhal, Winterfell, the Vale, they built a full city for Kings Landing, they built a fully functioning sewer which took months to create, you think that's easy. Do you know how many years it also took to make HoTD S1? More than 2 years. Because of the workload for Dragon shots and SFX - they had to bring in thousands of extras, create new sets. You should know the problems it comes with making sets and production expenses |
TV/Movies › Re: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by Illusioneffect(m): 9:40am On Jul 12, 2024 |
oyaskii: Weren't we getting GOT every year from 2011 to 2017 at the very least?. Fact is, it can be done if they set thier mind to it. That's not true for GOT. Game of Thrones is a peculiar case. First off - production design was totally alike in 6 seasons so they didn't need to recreate sets. VFX was made by just one company unlike most other shows. It was so popular that HBO didn't need to greenlit the show before they started production - most of the production team was in house. Also GOT started in 2011 - things were very different then- it was not made as a streaming show - you'll realise the show production value increased over time |

oyaskii: Like i said, good for you that you can make these list and i totally get your point. But extremely difficult for me or maybe i haven't really set my mind to do it. Extremely difficult to see shows over and over again, especially if they are drama or some other genre that isn't a sitcom. Imagine seeing "Succession" or "The Bear" again, along with all the trauma, lol doesn't mean there aren't great shows and obviously they fit right into any top 10 best show list.
I still have some critically acclaimed shows that i am yet see, if i get around to those, probably i will be more eager to make list.
Sitcoms are probably tv serial best gift, totally comfort giving and therapeutic, and i certainly get why you vibe with Friends and it's in your list. I saw "The Office US", this year for the first time, and it's probably one of the happiest i have been seeing a tv show in a very long while. 💚 I just watched the first pilot of Suits! OMG! Looks like I'ld have a top 10 contender after 108 episodes more. I just like pretty people talking about silly but complex problems

pu7pl3: Bridgerton? Baddestguyp: Putting Bridgerton and The Boys leaves a sour taste to your list tbh Yeah! Honestly, I never thought it would be on my list but looking back it's definitely one of my best shows just because it's a tradition for me to rewatch it with my female friends and I enjoy the drama and discussions we have about the show 🤷🏽♂️ sometimes it's not about quality but about how it makes you feel. Like the movie Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle - it's in my top 10 best movies of all time just because of how it made me feel first time watching and the tradition of rewatching every year🤷🏽♂️ The Boys is going down after this season definitely |
TV/Movies › Re: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by Illusioneffect(m): 5:59pm On Jul 10, 2024 |
DOyaskii: TBH i am not really into making these sort of lists, i have seen too many good shows/and still seeing, to narrow it down to a "Top 10" list. Like there isn't a defined criteria to make these list.
For E.G aren't you the one complaining about how "The Boys" S4 is going?, what is the criteria for it been on your list? Do you even know if they are gonna end it well?
And Bridgerton? Common on man, i don't even understand the context you used in putting it there, so you already see why making these kind lists is somehow.
Ideally, imo, Your "Top 10 list of your best shows" should be shows you can see over and over again, without getting tired. I haven't been able to sit through the entire "GOT" for a rewatch since my first run, except occasionally seeing random episodes to clear up some issh. I can wholeheartedly tell you, I can't sit through "The Boys" again from S1, when there are other new media to see every day. I think it has been only Dark (2017 - 2020) i have rewatched because it was a short binge with just 3 seasons.Only sitcoms these criteria in hindsight because, i can't honestly count how many times have seen "Scrubs", TAAHM", and "Everybody hates Chris "
I think people confused most critically acclaimed show of all time with best shows of all time, and the latter is highly subjective and very dynamic. It's cool you are able to come up with such list tho but it will be very difficult for me. You're totally right but my top 10 are shows that I've rewatched over and over again including the Boys and GOT. My most rewatched series is actually Stranger Things, Bridgerton and Friends - I can't count how many times I've rewatched them - EVERY SEASON OF FRIENDS. While shows like Succession and Better Call Saul just jumped to my list this year and I'm sure if I have the chance, I'ld rewatch them. But your best shows don't actually constitute as your most rewatchable shows. There are movies that are on my top 10 but I may never rewatch- not because it's bad but because of how it makes me feel - imagine rewatching Schindler's List over and over again when you're not a sadist 💀. That includes shows too. Shows like Chernobyl and the Bear are on my best best lists but they're not the most rewatchable shows. I have shows I can rewatch just because it makes me laugh like HIMYM or The Beef but they're not even my top 20 |

Baddestguyp: #Copied from a Reddit post.
Perfect summary of the latest episode of The Boys -
"Everyone hated IGNs 7/10 review before the season previewed including me, but Im starting to agree with the rating.
I genuienly think this might be the worst episode of the boys, and unless the last two episodes are drastically different this will be much lower in quality than season 3.
1. The Plot Twist reveal was just as obvious as the one in Rings of Power
2. The "Sex Gags" have literally been in every episode this season, its absoluetly "The authors barely disquised fetish"
3. The Sexual Assault scene was played for laughs and took WAY to much screentime, and was completely betrayed by Hughies breakdown at the end sabotaging the intention of the scene.
4. The Director stating that Hughies scene was supposed to be played as funny lets me question his judgement.
5. Homelander getting the idiot hat and barely reacting when he noticed Sage was shot in the head.
6. Homelander despite being shown to have extremely powerful superhuman hearing not noticing two fights in the mansion, including a gunshot and two bodies falling on the ground."
Been saying it tho... We are 6 episodes in this season and it feels like so far it's been 90% filler.
We wasted an entire 1 hour episode on a kink party... I think the director has a fetish for BDSM and embarrassment p*rn and trying it to make it funny as disguise |
