LifestyleTonite:The nigg* is saying the story of Jesus Christ is overtold when in actuality it's in decline, not everyone understands the resurrection right now- most people in the United States have never EVER read the Bible or go to church so it'll definitely be new to a lot of people in a time when no one wants to make Christian movies or talk about Jesus because they'll cringe - it's what the Devil will definitely say- 'the gospel is so overtold'🤦🏽♂️ when it definitely isn't! Most people don't even know the influence of the Passion of the Christ when it came out - children were giving their life to Christ - it prompted massive pilgrimages to Israel at the time and people coming out publicly to declare their faith. Why not capture that essence again when the message is in decline through the visual telling of the resurrection that no one has ever captured on a grand scale in Hollywood. People forget everything in the first movie only happened for 12 hours |
oyaskii:😂Wow, and I actually thought you were the smart one here. I won't trade insults with anyone here all because I'm trying to make a valid point - it'll be asinine and 'pre-teen like' to do that. You are simply just ignorant about how the business of Hollywood works right now. In your statement - you believe the story of the resurrection of Jesus Christ has been overtold?😂 That's actually very very untrue esp in Hollywood. If you count how many Christian movies in the last 10 years has recounted the resurrection of Jesus Christ - you won't count 5! That's not because it has been overtold but because Hollywood wants it to be ignored - no director or writer wants to make a 'Jesus' film because it'll hurt their career🤷🏽♂️ except you're already a well established director that can do whatever you want To real Christians - the story of Jesus can never be overtold esp in a time where there's a big decline in the adherence to Christianity esp here in the US - most people don't know much about the resurrection I can tell you that🤷🏽♂️ and to those who do - it's a welcome development to actually see it on a big screen after a long time. The people who you see making fun of the idea of a Jesus Christ movie on X are not the intended audience and they're likely not to even watching if it's any other Christian movie. You said people don't want to watch a Christian movie. I can't tell you how excited Christians in the US are to watch a Christian movie from a well-acclaimed director in Hollywood. You forget Twitter is not a real place - people in Missouri, the deep South will definitely watch because it's nostalgic🤷🏽♂️ and they haven't watched a Christian movie on a big screen since no Christian movie has opened in >1500 theatres in years |
pu7pl3:Queen, Mel and Caviezel have had countless interviews about the movie and it's even on wikipedia and if you can't call a movie that made 600 million plus on a 30 million dollar budget a blockbuster in the early 2000s - maybe you don't know anything about movies |
pu7pl3:Except the director and the studio never said it's a sequel, get your facts right Queen! Do you actually think an independent studio will drop the name 'Passion of the Christ' - a project that made them a profit of more than half a billion because of grifters on Twitter - if they're making a movie about Jesus Christ - why would they drop the name 'Passion' when it can even mean something else. A director, writer and producer of a film who has been working on a script for 10 years to tell a different story of Jesus Christ would drop the name that'll give his movie instant recognition because he wants to please internet grifters and people who don't care about the story of Jesus Christ. The people who actually care don't mind it at all🤷🏽♂️ unfortunately for you guys. They're mostly glad they'd see another blockbuster about their Saviour once again🤷🏽♂️ |
ShaqFu:Sorry the story of Jesus Christ will bore you, you've heard it a thousand times so I'm not surprised. But a great screenplay never bores no matter how many times you've heard it. I read the Lord of the rings books a thousand times before I ever got to watch the movie anr it never bores me whenever I watch it. If the screenplay is creative enough - it'd never bores anyone - that's why some movies are called classics |
Kaycee7:Most of Hollywood hates Mel Gibson so they'd would do anything to discredit the movie🤷🏽♂️ I'm not surprised they decided to leave out what the story could be about so people can jab on the idea of a 'sequel' even when the studio nor the director or writer said it was |
pu7pl3:I think what is actually the dumbest thing is believing the Story of Jesus Christ has an end. Even though there's already a plot - the screenplay can be about any thing. You guys act like making adaptations from a finished book like Lord of the Rings is ok but from the Bible is dumb??🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ The only reason Mel Gibson never made a Resurrection sequel is because of the controversy surrounding his personal life and the difficulty in writing a screenplay for a vastly told story and bringing it visually has been a daunting task for him. I can't believe you guys think telling a biblical story is dumb🤦🏽♂️ when the first movie ONLY covered just 12 hours before his crucifixion and his death. Get a hold of yourselves. |
oyaskii:I'm sorry too say but you're just being ignorant🤷🏽♂️ if you've watched the first movie and do a bit of research, you'd know Mel Gibson has been working on a script for a sequel for 10 years and already had an idea the time The Passion came out. The movie would be about the events before, during and after the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The writers of the movie has written Oscar winning movies and had never written a bad movie EVER! People always hate on Mel Gibson but no one ever talks about how he has never made a bad movie yet. I'm totally looking forward to this movie🙏. People always make fun of Christian movies and I'm not surprised🤷🏽♂️ |
abduleez1:Yes... I heard it’ll be a lot
|
abduleez1:I really hope he doesn’t write it |
Yemike:The actress just grew up😂. JA though, it was due to contractual obligations |
Yemike:Claudia isn't gay and interview with the vampire has been gay right from s1 |
Yemike:You're definitely right! I really really really dislike the show and I wish it wasn't a show I give two fcks about but the franchise is something I grew up on and the first movies I watched in a cinema when it was re-released and what made me love movies at that time - I read the books so many times I could recite a whole chapter at that time. It holds a lot of sentimental value to me and seeing fckin capitalists massacre the life out of Tolkien's work makes my heart boil - just take a look at the show-runners of a billion dollar show - they don't even have a decent working resume - they're not die hard fans of the show and their first words about it can be translated to 'we would make this show new'??, Wtf does that mean - there're so many details in LOTR lore that hasn't been explored at all - what else are they trying to add?? This Hollywood guys don't learn there lessons at all - stick to canon! If canon is broken - it will never work in the long run and it'll definitely have as many plotholes you can imagine |
abduleez1:I don't get you👀 is Orcs having feelings for their wives and children canon in Lord of the Rings - where in my statement did I say Orcs don't procreate? And what does procreating have to do with Tolkien's vision of Orcs being evil - Tolkien in an interview I don't totally remember actually said 'he created the Orcs as a definitive definition of evil with no moral compass whatsoever' he didn't make them as a gray character. The writers broke canon - Orcs are evil not because of their willingness to protect their wives and children but because they're. It just shows they're not being creative but are trying to add their 'modern spin' to a finished story when it isn't needed |
pu7pl3:Looks like you're not following the show at all. Right from season 1, they've been making Tolkien twitch and turn in his grave. Destroying canon has been their motive all along😪. You can imagine them trying to make Orcs relatable by making them have wives and telling us they're fighting to keep their wives and children alive😂😂😂 like Orcs are humans or elves with feeling - creatures that were made from goo and slime with one motive but to do the deeds of their maker. You can imagine what they'd do to the franchise next. The only studio that hasn't shat on a franchise yet is HBO |
Kaycee7:No, but the writers of the game made the show too so I can see where the mid-ness came from |
OhBritannia:You're literally contradicting yourself😂. The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter are cult classics that got mainstream popularity. The main reasons something is called a cult classic is 1. It has a very loyal fanbase that'll go to lengths to watch, interact and discuss about that piece of entertainment over long periods of time eg. The Terrifier 2. It's unique!!! A cult classic has to be UNIQUE!! No matter how bad or good a piece of entertainment is - it has to have something different about it🤷🏽♂️. For example : The Room - it's one of the worst movies of all times but people still gather around almost every midnight too watch this movie because of how good it is being bad. Rings of Power can't beat cult classic because it it's not unique in any way- it is just mid - there's nothing weird about it - nothing different about it after all, it's a reboot from something that's already a cult classic🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ - how does that make it a cult classic in anyway. You really think people in the future will gather all their friends in a room to watch Rings of Power 😂 - there's not even a scene in the movie that makes it stand out or to go viral😂. There's not even an actor or actress that'll make it a cult classic Something like the Acolyte can be called a cult classic because of how divisive it is |
Kaycee7:Exactly- you think so, I don't agree with you 🤷🏽♂️, I think it's a mid storyline just like every league of Legends game plotline - great characters - mid story unlike games with great plots like the Last of Us and GTA V. finalizar |
abduleez1:Exactly- Max is really profitable esp because there main money still comes from HBO - Imagine the money they'll make when the Harry Potter series comes out and they're giving streaming rights to Netflix and the others😂 |
OhBritannia:Bro lord of the rings has its fanbase already, cult classics are for original movies/series The reason Amazon is keen is because they've spent a billion getting the rights to lotd already, do you think they're just going to dump it - besides it's still getting a decent amount of views🤷🏽♂️ - Reacher is raking more views than it and even Fallout that just came out |
Kaycee7:👀👀 forgettable characters is not the same thing as characters with forgettable names- I remember every character from blue eye Samurai but not their names |
abduleez1:Bro, there're a lot of movies I love but can't remember the character's name at all - movies like Shawshank redemption, gladiator, ocean's eleven - and this are movies that are really memorable to me. Sometimes the characters names are not even said as much : it doesn't necessarily mean it's not memorable. |
OhBritannia:Bro it lost 64% of its first season audience, what are you saying and on a billion dollar budget Check again
|
Kaycee7:How does it not hold any claim?👀 Because it's my opinion or what? |
abduleez1:Wait! What??😂😂😂 TikTok wasn't a thing in 2020- the place where people where having 50 million subscribers in months and everyone was on TikTok because of the virus. I can't count how many edits of that Arcane younger sister I saw on TikTok and YouTube at that time. Talking of blue eye Samurai, you can forget the names of the character esp because they're not even English but you can't forget what the story is about and besides that's how modern streaming series are right now tho. We just haven't spent enough time with the characters to remember their names, that isn't a story problem. There was a time when a season of a show was 16-24 episodes- it'ld look like it was part of our lives 🤷🏽♂️ so I don't think it matters if you don't remember the characters name🤷🏽♂️ |
Baddestguyp:Exactly |
Kaycee7:Like always - acceptance is relative - not everyone would agree. |
abduleez1:Oga not just me🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ there're thousands of video saying how mediocre the arcane story is. The animation is excellent - even the story is well told but the story is very forgettable. It's over hyped bro- most of the reason Arcane is really popular is TikTok trends, you can't compare the story of Blue Eye Samurai to Arcane because of how interesting and really original the story is |
GloriousGbola:Do you know that if you search Chinese women big boobs - it will show you AI generated girls with big boobs instead of actual Chinese women😂 |
Kaycee7:😂😂😂😂 I hate to say it but you're right. |
Kaycee7:I might be over-stretching but I think Arcane is just like Avatar (the blue one) - it’s highly hyped and praised for a few months and after some months - no one even remembers the story or even re-inact plot by plot timelines very well despite how popular it becomes. No offense
|
Baddestguyp:It's not racism brother👀, it's just ignorance- any piece of art that's not Hollywood - it's immediately categorised as mediocre, it's not your fault they're just dumb |
