The story of Jesus Christ is bigger than what you know. The reason why anyone can claim to be bored of it is simply because the person rejected Jesus. Jesus appears in almost every passage of the bible, right from Genesis to Revelation. Only his own can see him in those pages.

Most people don't even know that after Jesus died, he went to hell fire to suffer for our sins before God resurrected him and brought him back to life. Mel Gibson might explore that.
The nigg* is saying the story of Jesus Christ is overtold when in actuality it's in decline, not everyone understands the resurrection right now- most people in the United States have never EVER read the Bible or go to church so it'll definitely be new to a lot of people in a time when no one wants to make Christian movies or talk about Jesus because they'll cringe - it's what the Devil will definitely say- 'the gospel is so overtold'🤦🏽‍♂️ when it definitely isn't!
Most people don't even know the influence of the Passion of the Christ when it came out - children were giving their life to Christ - it prompted massive pilgrimages to Israel at the time and people coming out publicly to declare their faith.
Why not capture that essence again when the message is in decline through the visual telling of the resurrection that no one has ever captured on a grand scale in Hollywood. People forget everything in the first movie only happened for 12 hours

It's a good thing to thoroughly think before you spew any rubbish to avoid making badly informed statements especially in a fora like this, you might look like a dunce thereafter if not.
😂Wow, and I actually thought you were the smart one here. I won't trade insults with anyone here all because I'm trying to make a valid point - it'll be asinine and 'pre-teen like' to do that.
You are simply just ignorant about how the business of Hollywood works right now. In your statement - you believe the story of the resurrection of Jesus Christ has been overtold?😂 That's actually very very untrue esp in Hollywood. If you count how many Christian movies in the last 10 years has recounted the resurrection of Jesus Christ - you won't count 5! That's not because it has been overtold but because Hollywood wants it to be ignored - no director or writer wants to make a 'Jesus' film because it'll hurt their career🤷🏽‍♂️ except you're already a well established director that can do whatever you want
To real Christians - the story of Jesus can never be overtold esp in a time where there's a big decline in the adherence to Christianity esp here in the US - most people don't know much about the resurrection I can tell you that🤷🏽‍♂️ and to those who do - it's a welcome development to actually see it on a big screen after a long time.
The people who you see making fun of the idea of a Jesus Christ movie on X are not the intended audience and they're likely not to even watching if it's any other Christian movie.
You said people don't want to watch a Christian movie. I can't tell you how excited Christians in the US are to watch a Christian movie from a well-acclaimed director in Hollywood. You forget Twitter is not a real place - people in Missouri, the deep South will definitely watch because it's nostalgic🤷🏽‍♂️ and they haven't watched a Christian movie on a big screen since no Christian movie has opened in >1500 theatres in years

Oh I forgot, you were in those meetings with Mel Gibson and them. No wonder you're here fighting tooth and nail cos you'll get a cheque for it.

LMAO Blockbuster kor Icepicker ni
Queen, Mel and Caviezel have had countless interviews about the movie and it's even on wikipedia and if you can't call a movie that made 600 million plus on a 30 million dollar budget a blockbuster in the early 2000s - maybe you don't know anything about movies

Before you start crying answer this; what does "Passion of Christ" mean?

There are thousands of stories in the Bible you can pick from and nobody will complain, if they wanted to do a remake then just come out and do it and not say it's a sequel.
Part 2 my foot.
Except the director and the studio never said it's a sequel, get your facts right Queen! Do you actually think an independent studio will drop the name 'Passion of the Christ' - a project that made them a profit of more than half a billion because of grifters on Twitter - if they're making a movie about Jesus Christ - why would they drop the name 'Passion' when it can even mean something else.
A director, writer and producer of a film who has been working on a script for 10 years to tell a different story of Jesus Christ would drop the name that'll give his movie instant recognition because he wants to please internet grifters and people who don't care about the story of Jesus Christ.
The people who actually care don't mind it at all🤷🏽‍♂️ unfortunately for you guys. They're mostly glad they'd see another blockbuster about their Saviour once again🤷🏽‍♂️

Well they have some story to tell, the one of Jesus' resurrection. How an angel came to remove the stone, those he met, how he met his disciples, how he proved to them he is Jesus etc, generally, it's going to be one big bore fest. Lol
Sorry the story of Jesus Christ will bore you, you've heard it a thousand times so I'm not surprised. But a great screenplay never bores no matter how many times you've heard it. I read the Lord of the rings books a thousand times before I ever got to watch the movie anr it never bores me whenever I watch it. If the screenplay is creative enough - it'd never bores anyone - that's why some movies are called classics

Back when I heard about this, I think it was titled The Resurrection of Christ. Maybe they're still workshopping the title
Most of Hollywood hates Mel Gibson so they'd would do anything to discredit the movie🤷🏽‍♂️ I'm not surprised they decided to leave out what the story could be about so people can jab on the idea of a 'sequel' even when the studio nor the director or writer said it was
TV/MoviesRe: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Illusioneffect(m):

I think I saw this post this morning and I wanted to comment but I was like nah, I won't watch it anyways cos what other story do you want to tell that you named it part 2. Fucking dumbos
I think what is actually the dumbest thing is believing the Story of Jesus Christ has an end.

Even though there's already a plot - the screenplay can be about any thing. You guys act like making adaptations from a finished book like Lord of the Rings is ok but from the Bible is dumb??🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

The only reason Mel Gibson never made a Resurrection sequel is because of the controversy surrounding his personal life and the difficulty in writing a screenplay for a vastly told story and bringing it visually has been a daunting task for him.

I can't believe you guys think telling a biblical story is dumb🤦🏽‍♂️ when the first movie ONLY covered just 12 hours before his crucifixion and his death.
Get a hold of yourselves.

I am not supposed to even laugh at this but the thought of this has me in stitches 😂😩. Like seriously, how will a sequel to "The Passion of Christ" even work?. The replies to the tweet are cracking me up 😂☠️.

Hollywood is so down bad at the moment, sequels and reboot here and there....They might actually need AI faster than they think, at this rate to write out screenplays for them fgs 😩
I'm sorry too say but you're just being ignorant🤷🏽‍♂️ if you've watched the first movie and do a bit of research, you'd know Mel Gibson has been working on a script for a sequel for 10 years and already had an idea the time The Passion came out. The movie would be about the events before, during and after the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The writers of the movie has written Oscar winning movies and had never written a bad movie EVER!
People always hate on Mel Gibson but no one ever talks about how he has never made a bad movie yet.
I'm totally looking forward to this movie🙏. People always make fun of Christian movies and I'm not surprised🤷🏽‍♂️

Claudia isn't in the picture, her character is too young for that. Season 1 has got vibes and the eccentric Mr Lioncourt made it lively. S1 isn't gay, it's more of a straight relationship.
I'll swap Amad for Mr Lioncourt.
The girl that play Claudia in s1 really nailed it, don't know why they change her sha. Small, petite, pitiful but deadly Claudia.
The actress just grew up😂. JA though, it was due to contractual obligations

Why is interview with the vampire season 2 giving only gay vibes? To worsen the matter, the come change Claudia act. Claudia isn't gay and interview with the vampire has been gay right from s1

Your dislike for this show knows no bound
You cannot dictate what the orcs are, the life their living from LOTR. This happened way back before LOTR. It's expected to be more complex and revealing.
From the story orcs were once men, some of them elves produced as a result of dark magic. Some of the early orcs might be able to have families and maybe that's what Sauron wanted to take from them.
It's a movie bro, it's meant to be enjoyed and if you're not enjoying a particular movie delete it and select another from the million available movies and allow others to enjoy the movie you hate to love.
You're definitely right! I really really really dislike the show and I wish it wasn't a show I give two fcks about but the franchise is something I grew up on and the first movies I watched in a cinema when it was re-released and what made me love movies at that time - I read the books so many times I could recite a whole chapter at that time. It holds a lot of sentimental value to me and seeing fckin capitalists massacre the life out of Tolkien's work makes my heart boil - just take a look at the show-runners of a billion dollar show - they don't even have a decent working resume - they're not die hard fans of the show and their first words about it can be translated to 'we would make this show new'??, Wtf does that mean - there're so many details in LOTR lore that hasn't been explored at all - what else are they trying to add??
This Hollywood guys don't learn there lessons at all - stick to canon! If canon is broken - it will never work in the long run and it'll definitely have as many plotholes you can imagine
TV/MoviesRe: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by Illusioneffect(m): 7:54pm On Sep 13, 2024
abduleez1:
Orcs are actually originally Elves. Its Morgoth who tortured I think about 13 of them who strayed too far from the rest of the tribe in middle earth.
He tortured them and mutilated them to the monstrous beings they are now.

And yep, Orcs actually do procreate just like Humans and Elves. That explains their huge numbers all through the ages.
It's just not talked about much to minimise the disgust.

Orcs made from mud and slime was originally Tolkien's plan before rewriting it with the Morgoth storyline. It's infused in the movie scene of Saruman making Orcs or Uruk-Hai from "mud and slime". More or less Peter Jackson's reference to Tolkien's original ideas.
I don't get you👀 is Orcs having feelings for their wives and children canon in Lord of the Rings - where in my statement did I say Orcs don't procreate? And what does procreating have to do with Tolkien's vision of Orcs being evil - Tolkien in an interview I don't totally remember actually said 'he created the Orcs as a definitive definition of evil with no moral compass whatsoever' he didn't make them as a gray character.
The writers broke canon - Orcs are evil not because of their willingness to protect their wives and children but because they're.
It just shows they're not being creative but are trying to add their 'modern spin' to a finished story when it isn't needed

Bride of Sauron ke?
Galadriel is pure good. They are following the books are they not?
Looks like you're not following the show at all. Right from season 1, they've been making Tolkien twitch and turn in his grave. Destroying canon has been their motive all along😪. You can imagine them trying to make Orcs relatable by making them have wives and telling us they're fighting to keep their wives and children alive😂😂😂 like Orcs are humans or elves with feeling - creatures that were made from goo and slime with one motive but to do the deeds of their maker. You can imagine what they'd do to the franchise next.
The only studio that hasn't shat on a franchise yet is HBO

I understand but any series can become a cult classic on its own separate from the original and it doesn't matter if fallout or reacher gets more views than it.
There are those that haven't seen lords of the rings or read the book but and this rings of power can become cult classic to them.
Some series and movies got big views but are not cult classics.
Cult classics means the series/movie becomes a culture amongst people, it doesn't have to be billions of people as you are saying it.

Let me give you an example, Spanish series like visaAvis don't have record breaking world views but it's a cult classic amongs the people that saw it.
Till today, we still remember the Spanish series and some of the Spanish actresses today especially the onces in money heist, were first known and recognize in visavia and Infact part of the major reasons why first season of money heist was successful was because of the fans of visAvis who loved Nairobi.
And when the female detective came on board, the series picked up again because of the fans of VisaAvis who loved her from visaAvis.

Another example till today i still have the original theme songs of VisAvis in my phone and i will keep that song forever in my phone and system till i grow very old and leave this earth because it keeps reminding me of the beautiful Spanish series called visaAvis or locked.

This is an example of a cult classic.
You're literally contradicting yourself😂.
The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter are cult classics that got mainstream popularity. The main reasons something is called a cult classic is
1. It has a very loyal fanbase that'll go to lengths to watch, interact and discuss about that piece of entertainment over long periods of time eg. The Terrifier
2. It's unique!!! A cult classic has to be UNIQUE!! No matter how bad or good a piece of entertainment is - it has to have something different about it🤷🏽‍♂️. For example : The Room - it's one of the worst movies of all times but people still gather around almost every midnight too watch this movie because of how good it is being bad.
Rings of Power can't beat cult classic because it it's not unique in any way- it is just mid - there's nothing weird about it - nothing different about it after all, it's a reboot from something that's already a cult classic🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️ - how does that make it a cult classic in anyway. You really think people in the future will gather all their friends in a room to watch Rings of Power 😂 - there's not even a scene in the movie that makes it stand out or to go viral😂. There's not even an actor or actress that'll make it a cult classic
Something like the Acolyte can be called a cult classic because of how divisive it is

It's actually 65 countries. I just round up the number.

Well, you can blame Max slow roll out. They have many distribution agreements in many regions globally that they can't release Max there until the deal elapses. Although, for some, WBD ain't too bothered about a fast rollout eg Africa and Middle East, parts of South East Asia. They're okay with licensing only HBO content and keeping the cash from the deal.

They're not even available in UK, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland (some of the biggest markets) and a few others cos of the Sky Europe deal. They just got available in France and Poland just this May/June. The Sky deal elapses end of 2025. So there's gonna be a bigger roll out in most of Europe in 2026.

Max has shelved plans to launch in India in the nearest future and instead do licensing deals for HBO content cos there's hardly any profitability in that region.

They were gunning for a faster rollout across the major markets but the Discovery merger with WB slowed things down with Zaslav focusing on profitability rather than subscriber count. And it seems to have worked for them. They're the only profitable streaming business in the world asides Netflix. Disney+ just gained profitability this last quarter despite starting before HBOMax and having over 130mn subs. Max is still way more profitable than Disney plus with an almost double Average Revenue Per User (ARPU).

HBO distribution is in the hands of DStv in Africa. I don't see them having plans for here till like 2027-28 sef if not till 2030.

They have mostly focused their eyes on parts of Europe and almost all of Latin America and the US. Canada and Australia no get Max sef.

It's a gradual process for them but profitability above subscriber count. But by 2027 they would have rolled out in most of the major markets worldwide.
Exactly- Max is really profitable esp because there main money still comes from HBO - Imagine the money they'll make when the Harry Potter series comes out and they're giving streaming rights to Netflix and the others😂

Amazon is still committed to the show's 5-season plan

This will eventually end up a cult classic.
Bro lord of the rings has its fanbase already, cult classics are for original movies/series
The reason Amazon is keen is because they've spent a billion getting the rights to lotd already, do you think they're just going to dump it - besides it's still getting a decent amount of views🤷🏽‍♂️ - Reacher is raking more views than it and even Fallout that just came out

About Tik Tok, I don't use the app. So I can't say the tons of hype and discourse I see regularly on Arcane is even from the platform. I'm not even a League of Legends fan or a hardcore gamer to begin with.

You also said you saw "thousands" of negative videos about Arcane.... surely it won't be that hard to find ain't it??
Bro, there're a lot of movies I love but can't remember the character's name at all - movies like Shawshank redemption, gladiator, ocean's eleven - and this are movies that are really memorable to me. Lol, Arcane is popular cos of Tik Tok. Lmao. This one na big reach. Tik Tok that wasn't really a thing until the last two years.

All these talk is recency bias. While Blue Eye Samurai is very good, I don't see it topping Arcane.

Blue Eye Samurai that just aired some months ago and I can't remember a single name of any character in it. But for Arcane I still remember at least 4 characters' names despite 3 yrs now.
Wait! What??😂😂😂 TikTok wasn't a thing in 2020- the place where people where having 50 million subscribers in months and everyone was on TikTok because of the virus. I can't count how many edits of that Arcane younger sister I saw on TikTok and YouTube at that time.
Talking of blue eye Samurai, you can forget the names of the character esp because they're not even English but you can't forget what the story is about and besides that's how modern streaming series are right now tho. We just haven't spent enough time with the characters to remember their names, that isn't a story problem. There was a time when a season of a show was 16-24 episodes- it'ld look like it was part of our lives 🤷🏽‍♂️ so I don't think it matters if you don't remember the characters name🤷🏽‍♂️

It's a common thing with most Western animation except The Last Airbender and Korra.

They are just too short and their events don't stand out in the long run. Praised but their plotlines are easily forgettable.

Most anime don't run into this problem because they are mostly divided into arcs, so it's easier to recall what happened in each arc...e.g Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer etc...
Even Chainsawman S1 was far more memorable than Arcane

I always regularly see Arcane hype and anticipation even before netflix announced its upcoming season few months ago.

The animation is excellent - even the story is well told but the story is very forgettable.
