cheekynero: Please house, I lodged my application late June and did my Bio-metrics and medicals almost immediately. I'm due to resume at Flinders uni before 7th of August at most. I thought this visa thing would only take a month but from the threads I've been reading so far. Its taking peeps more than two months to get their grants. Does anyone know what is really going on and should I wait or defer my admission to February?? Anyone with bright ideas? Keep your fingers crossed, everybody's application are not the same..so just be hopeful and positive |

bestdiddy: Its good to imagine the worst and always prepare for it. However, we will always pray that may we not be so risk averse that we miss out on opportunities lying in wait for us.
All it takes is being positive minded. The first person who spoke to me about Australia years ago went there with only US$400. He had a land at Abuja valued at N7.5m and his plan was for his cousin to sell the property and send the money to him so he won't even have to get a job. He just wanted to face his studies and graduate. Fast forward to today, no N7.5m ever got to him and he just had to make it work. He's a graduate of Social Work now and earns a six figure annual salary (in AU$ ooo).
What I keep telling my folks is that the worst case scenario is that the authorities will say you've not paid school fees, and you're hereby deported. The chances of that happening is very slim if only we can put our heads on the ground, maintain focus on the dream, and be hardworking. Others have done it, some people on this thread are doing it, I'm pretty sure you and I can do it as well. I had this same fears as you do before, but I had to make myself understand that if I had to wake up every 4am to get ready for my current bank job and get back home by 11pm from work, I should be able to push myself to achieve this dream.
If you have the N6.5m as you said, that's like two steps taken already. I'm not saying it will be easy, but the point is we can achieve it and we no go die. Unlike here, you're going to a place where the system works, opportunities are abundant, and there is reward for hardwork.
So, calm your fears, take the steps, research on schools, start your applications and get this admission bro. Everything will be fine, okay?
Hope this helps
This is very deep ...what he/she is trying to say in a nutshell is that..at all at all ogoro must jump... |

Dear Student We would once again like to thank you for your application to UNSW. Australian Border Protection (DIBP) recently introduced a revised international student visa processing framework (SSVF); the framework places extra responsibility onto institutions to ensure the GTE status and visa compliance of their students. UNSW has implemented an additional step into their application process to comply with these responsibilities. UNSW now requires the completion and submission of a GTE Form for students from specific countries based on information provided by DIBP; GTE Forms may only be completed by UNSW agents or authorised UNSW employees. Please see http://www.international.unsw.edu.au/gte for more information on how to submit your GTE Form. Please ensure your GTE Form is submitted or risk having your application assessment delayed. Please contact me if you have any further questions. Thanks and regards Anthony Badgery Regional Manager (MEA & Pakistan), UNSW International UNSW SYDNEY NSW 2052 AUSTRALIA The above txt was the message i recieved from UNSW, even after my COE was issued... |
