MadPolitician:
Elections are not meant to distribute votes to all sorts of wacky characters, including drug dealers and vintage kleptomaniacs, just make every group feel happy. Elections are meant for the people to vote in the BEST candidates. I used to think that this is so easy for people to understand. So why should the east vote for say Tinubu? A certified drug baron? They voted for Obi, because they felt he was the best . You voted for your Pablo Escobar, because you said he was the best too. Allow the public to look at them and look at you and me and decide on who was cutting of his nose to spite his face. East protested with their votes loud and clear. You can't laugh at them for voting against a TERRIBLE candidate, then come back a year later to lay scorn at them for not joining you to protest against the same candidate you voted in! Common naa, make it make sense.
Again, you go on another gaslight spree. Try telling yourself the truth, it makes you free. You said and were quoted that "people are no more protesting because" they are supporting their ethnic group. i reminded you of the fact that the last protests were done by the so called ethnic groups and zones. It was only in the South East that there was no protest. You don't want to protest, but you are very sad that others are not protesting, pathetic. It was a similar thing with elections. In the North, people voted for the three major candidates and they all won states. Same thing happenned in the South West and South South. It was only in the South East that the candidate from the zone won by impossible percentages. But surprisingly, it is the South East that is always complaining that others are doing things by tribe and ethnicity. i showed you this and you come up with nonsense about how elections are not for distributing votes. It is only in the South East that people know how to vote the best candidate, the other many more millions of Nigerians are wacky and drug dealers. Unfortunately, the statistics say otherwise. Data does not lie, the bulk percentage of drug dealers all over the world and caught by NDLEA at the borders are staggeringly from the accusers of others. This continues unabated because the elders play the ostrich and hoodwink the young ones into thinking that they are victims.

MadPolitician:
Tribalism proved to be the biggest enemy of the Nigerian people. People are no more protesting because they have chosen to support whosoever that is in power, irrespective of his bad policies, as ling as he is from their ethnic group. Its more like "smiling while suffering", just to ensure that their tribal leaders in power are not removed or humiliated.

They have also managed to build up a groundswell of opposition against those from other areas trying to challenge the terrible leadership of their tribal tin gods. This they do by also going back to all sorts of tribal arguments. It's now a "we versus them" mentality. So the corrupt presidency contineously gets away with murder. Easily.
The last needless protests took place in all zones of the country except the South East. Are you talking based on facts or based on emotions and propaganda? During the elections, every other region/zone had different winners from the different parties except in the South East where there was only one winner with impossible percentages. Gaslighting is a sin and should be a crime.

Growing up, my mother did a lot of terrible things to me even till I became an adult. I'm 40 now and she's aged.

She's trying to be kind to me now and I've forgiven her or so I thought. My life didn't turn out well the way I wanted because of her curse and evil mind towards me.

She regrets everything now and I have moved on but the memories fail to leave me. I've tried as much as possible to forget those things but I can't and each time I remember them I feel this rage inside of me.
Simply forgive, forget may come or not come. You do yourself a big favour when you forgive.

Who doesn't know that there is mo food for lazy man?
Her advice is unnecessary, everyone knows that there is no food for lazy man she don't need to say it.
She spoke at the palace of Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, in Ile-Ife, Osun State. The first lady was in Ife to inaugurate hostel and a 2.7 kilometer road donated to Ọbafẹmi Awolọwọ University, (OAU), Ile Ife, by the Ooni of Ife and named after her. Her advice is very necessary, you are free to ignore it. Thank God you know that the advice is correct and true.

For her to even say it at the time when there is hunger, will be interpreted that she is mocking people in the face of hardship, she should watch what she is saying, she is not a kid cheesy
lies!
Stop telling lies, the economic indices are there grin
Buhari left exchange rate at N285/ 1 dollar
Her even more daft husband worsten it to over N1500/ 1 dollar
i understand the hunger like i stated earlier, it bites hard. i don't like to see or hear people are hungry. Again, really, i expected it, it's commonsense. Subsidy and arbitrage had to go. Subsidy is not economic indices, please get educated on this. That a government is giving out freebies is not economic health. Most of the countries that you envy sell fuel more expensive than Nigeria BTW. Government cannot continue to help you subsidize dollars.

Check the difference, what is more comatose than that?
economy doing better my foot
you are probably living in abroad posting now, it's not your fault cheesy
it was corruption that should have gone or reduce corruption to it minimum.
Not subsidy.
There was absolutely nothing wrong with subsidy. There is no nation in the world dependent on petrol that do not subsidize pms under this current OPEC international market price.
If you don't subsidize you are only exposing your country to economic hardship/degradation especially if petrol is your major power source for transportation of goods and services which is the natural bed rock for every growing economy.
Do a simple google check or better still, proper research on the top twenty economies in the world and price of fuel. My oint is that price of pump is not the only indicator for showing that a country is doing well. If we keep saying that blindly, Nigeria is clearly doing better as our fuel is still cheaper.

You know what subsidy does?
It enable easy movement.
Movement of goods and services.

If there is stagnation of goods and services, you have crumbled the economy no matter the amount of money you have realized from deregulation.

Life is not all about money, Nigerians need to change that mindset grin

Mark my word!
Whenever there is any improvement to exchange rate just know that the government is embarking on a secret partial subsidization.
And nothing will be achieved if subsidy regime is not reverted 50 years from now.

It seems this idiotic president does not know what he is playing with grin

Try watching the video above, we don't have short memories abeg.
The government simply could not afford subsidy, accept your fate. The numbers were terrible. Why should the country crumble under debt because of subsidy? There is more to life than subsidizing dollars and petrol. Stay alive and stay safe to experience this, it has happened in other countries also. It's never palatable to stop receiving freebies, understood. i stand fully and logically with the decision of the government to remove the subsidies and float the naira. It definitely comes with its regrettable pains. What the government can do though, which it's not doing well is help people with FOOD. Food prices have to go down, open the borders already. Our farming is not sustainable(or let's say not yet). Plus the majority of our farmers and market are greedy, like most Nigerians.
Finally, underestimate President Tinubu at your own peril. He knows exactly what he is doing, though i think he could have done it in other ways.

paxonel:
Is there any country in the world that does not have lazy people?
In the US,UK and most developed countries in Europe, the presence of lazy youths in these countries does not affect who want to work, hence their economy is not affected by a mere presence of lazy youths.
Still, there is nothing wrong or insensitive about telling young people to work hard and not be lazy. Good parents and religious leaders do so every other week. Wake up, no food for lazy man.

Her husband met a country with atleast a moving economy even though things were already bad at the time he became president.
There was fuel subsidy.
Because there was subsidy people could afford to buy fuel.
Because people could afford to buy fuel they were able to run their private businesses.
Because they were able to run their private businesses there was value added tax
Because there was value added tax government was able to raise revenue to fund recurrent and capital projects.
Because government was able to fund budgetary projects the economy was booming to some extent.
Exchange rate was much more stable at N380 to 1 dollar.
Life was atleast bearable to the poor.
Nobody complained about lazy youths.

All these things stopped the very day this Bush man came into power to declare removal of subsidy.

I don't think there is any country in the world right now that is runned like this. Because the man has completely run out of touch to reality for declaring subsidy removal at the time there are no other source of national income/economic energy other than petroleum.

Now, she coming out to blame lazy youths rather than cautioning her husband, it shows that she is terribly insensitive
Her husband met a comatose economy which is now doing much better. Any good economist will tell you that. The problem here is the inflation(especially on food) which is very unfortunate. i don't take it lightly to say that because i understand the pain of the people really feeling the heat/hunger. The subsidy was going to go and was met to go. It would have produced adverse effects under any human hand. Any learned person knew that. All the major political parties campaigned in the direction as well. If Nigeria remains politically stable, this phase is the worst that can happen, it can only get better from here. BTW, Remi did not blame you, she only advised you not to be lazy.

So can we say they are lazy as Nigerian youths? For them to even make the bold move of leaving their comfort zone?

If infrastructure are put in place and policies implemented without corruption from the top, do you think relatives will stay at their brother's house and refuse to leave?

If jobs are provided and you can get a job soon as you quit one will the millions of graduates wake up and still hang around the neighborhood?

Some people at the top claiming they are hardworking when they are only embezzling people's hard work
i did not say that they were lazy, i said the reason why they were working the hard jobs. Every country has travellers, there are different motives. i am not aware of any country in the world where the majority can get a job as soon as you quit one. There are few cases of such and they can also be found in Nigeria in some cases.

Stupid thoughts.. Is she trying to talk like Buhari who said Nigerian youths are lazy?

Go anywhere in the world and find Nigerian youths working the hard jobs others are running away from.

Maybe she meant Nigerian youths should work harder chasing them thieves out of Aso-ebi rock

Stupid hoe
Those people you refer to are only working the hard jobs because reality hit them. They discovered that they had no job skills and no one to be entitled to. They can't even stay in their brother's house/room lazying away, their own brother will chase them out abroad. It's not like Nigeria where your distant cousin will just move into your house and refuse to leave. Or where your relatives expect you to pay the school fees of your village.

Nigerian youths are never lazy, how come they fail in Nigeria and excel ones they are outside the shores of Nigeria?
Where did you get your statistics though? There are many Nigerians struggling outside Nigeria and afraid or ashamed to return home. Many have resorted to doing works that they never dreamed of doing in Nigeria because they can't behave entitled over there. Nobody even their blood relative send them. It's not like in Nigeria where people behave anyhow looking for manna from everybody.

A thing can be useless in one way and useful in a different way. A spoon is useless as telecommunications device but useful for eating and other culinary related uses.

The Bible is useless as an instruction manual for knowing whether to use a condom or an IUD or a morning after pill or a hormonal patch. It can't because it's a bunch of ancient tales.
Still remains your personal opinion though, millions of christians, on the different sides of the divide, will strongly disagree with your viewpoint. While condom or an IUD or a morning after pill or a hormonal patch DID NOT exist until recently, the foundation instruction of the Bible on family planning still covers and overrules them and any other family planning method to come in the future. IF the Bible says NO to family planning, it is instructive for every believer not to use ANY family planning method, device, and name. Thankfully, the Bible itself teaches family planning, therefore, every safe method, device and name is permitted.

You're straddling here. Useless means having or being of no use. You can't claim something is useless and still insist that it's been widely used. The reality is that the Bible is and can be widely used to encourage family planning. i can practically stand from my congregation and open passage after passage, exhorting people to plan their families and use contraceptives and other inventions that are not sinful or unhealthy. That someone else picks up a knife to kill and fight doesn't make knives useless to me.

Exactly my point, the rush is for selfish reasons, not for the people. If you cared so much about the governance of the people, you don't need to wait over one year to conduct elections. If most of these governors were not threatened about the money, they may not hold LG elections for 4 to 8 years. Some will try installing caretaker chairmen. So it has NOTHING to do with the state moving forward.
