If you have ever worked in an establishment and seen different chanfges in the organisation, promotions, transfers etc, you will understand better and not ask this kind of questions on a public forum. Many of you had been jubilating for years about how Tinubu was sidelined by Buhari and how Buhari used him and did not support him or care for him.

It's a simple wake up to reality. Politics all over the world involves money and some sort of bankrolling or sponsorship. How Obi is so stingy shows he doesn't believe fully in his cause and cannot put his money where his mouth is.

Also, the last paragraphs highlighted that it was more of a plea bargaining as Tinubu indemnified the whole America system of any future lawsuits that he could throw up as damages or loss.America can do deal with anybody who can help or protect their interests. Lol, i should go and read book. The case was dismissed, Q.ED. Whatever adverb you want to put is your cup of tea. They suspected him and could not prove him guilty. His main fault was living in/using the same address as the drug guys which is a big mistake that can happen to anybody especially going abroad. The FBI guy that testified was so sure of himself and stereotyped Nigerians if you read the files. But Tinubu fought back, and defendant became claimant. At the end of the day, it was tax that they collected from his money.
That Tinubu even held the US government by such settlement is impressive given that this was over 30 years ago and he was not this powerful. It shows he's not a paper-weight by any means.

Makes sense. i have never seen where a criminal(a drug baron for that matter) is made to release and discharge the US government in a settlement. Tinubu was accused like anybody can be accused, but he fought back in court and the US government settled amicably with him. When major news outlet AIT published same unfounded reports against Tinubu, he sued them and they made a public apology retracting the accusations.

Like i stated earlier, Tinubu was never indicted in the case. They accused him but were never able to prove it beyond him using the same address of the drug guy that they convicted. The question you/we should be asking is where or how did Tinubu have such huge amounts of money. But as per indictment or being guilty as charged, it NEVER happened. All actions were dismissed with prejudice. Brother, this kind of deals/settlements are not done on or with drug barons. Let's be reasonable.

This is nothing new, you conveniently skipped all my common sense questions also. Did you bother to find out the agreement that transpired on the September 15 date in your court documents? Tinubu was declared clean and made to sign that he'll not take the US government to court again for this case.
He was indeed accused of drugs but NEVER acquitted. The only thing they could get was the tax from his investment accounts.

Yea they accused him BC they traced proceeds of heroine trafficking to his account. If he was clean, he would have defended himself and come out out with a clean slate, rather he plead bargained and forfeited the funds. This is akin to conviction / justice served. The judge tampered justice with mercy by only allowing forfeiture based on Drugnibu plea that he was not aware the money was proceeds of drug. It does not exonerate him from drug deal in Chicago.

Jesus christ did not/hardly came out to defend Himself when accused, does that make Him guilty? Why do you think Dokpesi's AIT had to settle out of court or pay huge fines running into billions when they released accusations of this same calibre earlier? Why do you think no major news outlet ever directly accuses him of such? Did you seriously read the documents released on that case? Why will they be begging him not to take them to court after if he was guilty as accused? Does the US government beg drug lords and leave them to take the rest of their ill gotten wealth? None of the politicians contesting is clear or clean so they can't really use this as a criteria. i will rather have a Tinubu thief than an Atiku thief. It is established that they are both thieves but one is visionary, the other will just loot with his cronies.
In fact, i am more impressed that Tinubu can make a deal with the US government. That's a trait he's always had, he can think out of the box and get out of tight situations. He's not going to be prodded by the West like a sheep to the slaughter.
