Iran cannot afford a large assault by both israel and the US simultaneously. The current tit-for-tat with israel is ideal because Iran has adapted to the nature of the conflict and is dealing hard blows of its own that are proving costly for the enemy

Meanwhile, Trump played his hand early and has compromised his position. A second strike is off the table because anymore and that'll be tantamount to a declared war, which they're keen to avoid

Iran has the all clear for now and is in a better position arguably than before the US strikes

If truly the US believed what has been attributed to JD Vance that Iran isn't war capable, then the US wouldn't have just targeted the nuclear sites, they would've gone for the missiles and Iran's pillars of power, inorder to set the country back by a lot and cripple its ability to hurt israel

I said it here a while back that there are three countries israel will have a very hard time with in a war

1. Iran:

In a full blown war with Iran, the israelis would have the upper hand initially, they'd do damage, but eventually the Iranians would overrun them

2. Turkey:

The only upper hand the israelis could possibly have here is if they attacked the Turks unexpectedly, barring that, I don't see how israel can win this. Even a surprise attack will only slightly stifle the Turks

3. Egypt:

This is the winnable one for the Israelis, though it would come at a heavy cost. Currently, the Egyptian economy is in bad shape so they'd avoid a war, but if it boils down to it and in better circumstances, israel would likely win more battles than Egypt and would have secured more wins to have a victory

4. Saudi Arabia:

In a straight fight, the Saudi army is no match for the israelis, but the strength of the Saudis is in their significance to Muslims. In the event of a war, the Saudi Army will have at its side the armies of several Muslim countries, as well as several civilian volunteers and depending on how far the israelis push the limits, e.g. attacking the cities of Makkah and Madina, it could turn into something else completely.

As far as the rest of the countries in the region go, it's smooth sailing for Israel

This assessment is for conventional armies

I hope the other side can recover from the shock, unless they're waiting for the US to join in before they find the strength

In Egypt's case, when Muhammad Mursi was elected President, he opened the Rafah border and there was free movement of Palestinians. Also, the government started questioning the terms of the treaty with israel

The West along with israel backed a coup against Mursi and Sisi came to power and Rafah has been shut ever since and for ensuring the border remains shut and the treaty with israel remains intact, they continue to pump Sisi's government with money and supply the military with equipment

I personally prefer that they keep the border closed at this time because if they open it and Palestinians leave, then they've lost their homeland for good
