If you notice Africa and the countries you mentioned China and Russia had an older system where monarchy was the traditional form of government practiced. They have that in common though in different forms.

Democracy is a relatively newer form of government which originated from the west (Greece) Introduced and spread to these countries.

Many of these countries with origins of having a monarch just practice a hybrid of both democracy and monarchy. Or a democracy with many tenets or components of monarchy but just call it democracy.

I may be wrong though but it's just an observation or theory that may have some level of accuracy!

Didn't our forefathers practice Monarchical system for centuries before Democracy came.

The laws was passed by the Senate in 2017 and was signed by Buhari on July 2018.
So, as at 2015, he was still eligible because that section of the law was not there but as of now, he is no longer eligible.
It is to ensure that no one serves more than 8years in office. Imagine if a president was sworn in last month and died after a month. If that portion is not there, it means the VP now Presido may serve for 12 years. That was why the bill was enacted after Buhari won the 2015 election.

it should be unity and not trust bridge, has the south south for example done any harm for it to build trust bridge with anyone, if we are to talk about trust bridge it is the others who should be proving it's trust, it is a case of political marginalization and undermining, the key I would say is southern unity but the south west seem to always never align with the rest of the south when it is not beneficial to it's selfish needs, the best is for the rest of the southern states to form it's own political alliance.
