Hey guys i am new to this thread and read through most of the pages.Well,my question is on proof of funding,which is blocked account,using sponsorship letter and scholarship.Please i need to know what sponsorship letter is all about.
blocked account : you open a German acct with a German bank and you transfer 8720 euros there. you can only have access to it Wen u get to Germany. that's why it's called blocked. and you will be given access to only 750 euros per month.

sponsorship letter is when a residence of Germany files that he can take care of you, he/she must be employed and earning good salary. I think 1500 euros per month if the person is single and 3500 if the person is married. doing that... you don't need blocked account.

I needn't tell u bout scholarship

@Immafrank,

All the 13 pages make up 1 set of documents. Make it up to 3 sets as suggested by @neccki. Please, make sure you go with evidence of university applications if you are going to Lagos consulate. Abuja might overlook it but Lagos don't.

@Evabee,

Congratulations, go to Deutschland and succeed. grin
thanks don.

Yes!......You can make it 3 sets for 3 schools instead. Make use of the opportunity.

You have to book appointment for certification online.

It's free for the first 3 sets of documents. Additional documents are charged.

See attached pdf for guidelines.

@Blackanada,

You can use DHL for 11,500 with student discount.

Remember to ask them for student discount.

You can also team up with other students and share the 11,500. I did this like twice. grin grin grin

No disadvantage in using High Court for certification but try to check your school requirement as some schools don't accept certifications without seal as mere rubber stamp is not sufficient.

@lawlandc,

Get a letter from your school registrar as suggested. Also, you can mail your course coordinator to know if the letter will be accepted.

@Mirastones,

It should be around November or December. Keep checking the consulate's website for more information.
I went to DHL office last Friday. they said there is no student discount.

Please I'm applying for admission in a German school they requested I upload a result of IELTS or LOEFL to ascertain my English proficiency... I haven't written any exam like that.. Is it compulsory I must take the exam b4 applying? How do I go about that? Pls I need response asap
you can get an English proficiency letter from your school. just direct a letter to your registrar. Getting the letter will exempt you from the TOEFL and Co but depending on the school requirement. Some will accept and some will insist you do the language test.

Can someone please give me an idea of the cost of mailing documents to uni-assist, and what mailing services are most reliable and/or cheapest.
it's still the same price as mailing your docs to the school directly and don't forget you have to pay uni assist processing fee.

DHL: 18,200 naira.
TNT: 14,920 naira.

The courses displaying on daad. de are mostly winter course or does it mean It's still early to check for courses? Pls i need clarification on this.Thanks
Most schools I've seen are open for application during winter semester. however, few courses and few schools opens for summer. so when checking daad. use the advanced criteria options and check summer semester box only

Please, I wanna ask.. My bag containing my int. passport was stolen. However, I've got a soft copy of the passport in my laptop. Can I apply to schools with that in the meantime or do I need to go and retrieve the stolen one? I was @ NIS office in my city (Warri) and was told that a new passport would cost me 55k, since it is a case of "lost or stolen passport". What do I do guys?
You will need to certify that international passport(paper form) since it's a photocopy and that is if you are sending by postal mail(if asked by your school to send)

and I think getting back a new international passport for stolen/lost cases is more expensive than getting a new one for the Ist time.

The German Embassy is the key if you can certify your documents there because all schools accept documents certified there. Alot of schools also take documents certified in High court which should be the cheapest for you. Notary public can also notarize your documents which will also be acceptable anywhere but could make you spend some bucks. The decision is yours.
thanks bro

Since you said the transcript that your friend got through the other medium is the same as the one you have with you, and you are quite sure that there is no difference, then you can give it a shot. But if your transcript says or carries not for official use, then there might be probz.
Thanks bro.

Apply for transcript to ur dad or mum's office or anyone body u know, pick it up and certify it
My school gave me my transcript yesterday with my certificate. my question now is can I apply for my msc with that transcript because it states clearly on the school/course website that I should upload my transcript of records and I should also post it to them by mail.

I've been hearing series of answers concerning this that you can't post or apply to German university with the copy of transcript your school gave you!
Pls help me out as this is giving me serious concern.

funny enough is that my dept mate applied for his transcript online (for local copy/use e.g university or organization in Nigeria ) he added the post graduate address of the university which is in Nigeria though, he knew someone in the university's postgraduate unit, and he got it last Friday from the person in the post graduate unit of that school by hand, it was the same thing as mine... no difference. everything written on his was written on mine. Stamped and signed by registrar. he also wants to use it to apply but not Germany.

I will appreciate a quick response from anybody that has an in-depth knowledge bout this and also from people that have gained admission.
Eshey pupo.

Hi, you mustn't certify your documents at the embassy(except your school explicitly asked you to do that), you could certify your documents at the notary public or at the court.
Thanks sire

Go to the embassy website, and book appointment

To certify your doc at the embassy, you have to book appointment with them. Follow this link ; https://service2.diplo.de/rktermin/extern/choose_realmList.do?locationCode=lago&request_locale=en

scroll down and click continue "under legal and consulate affairs". It will take you to the next page then click continue under "services for university applicants , language students"
Thanks sire.
juss another quick question- because I've been hearing series of answers concerning this.
about my transcript of records, can I use my student copy because the school I'm applying to is requiring me to upload my transcripts and also send it to them by post. attached is the last page of my transcript.
Anybody's opinion is welcomed.
